Basic answer, Cortana. Honest answer, Virgil (if the combination of the Superintendent AI and Quick To Adjust counts as an answer) and Isabel. Those two are incredibly dear to me. And, of course, I can't leave out my beloved Auntie Dot. I get all in my feels about her because of how much emotion she shows for a "dumb" AI at times. It's not much, and it's very subtle wherever it *can* be seen - outside of her Firefight voicelines, anyway - but it's there, and it matters to me a lot. In a world where your class is severely stunted in the Having Feelings Of Any Kind department, especially when compared to your "smart" peers, imagine being the one urging your commander to get help despite not being... *wired* to do so. One warning is sufficient, yet you warn multiple times. Sorry, in this house we love Auntie Dot. Her firefight voicelines are also quaint and full of charm and I implore anyone reading this to give those a listen if they haven't.

🚢 - favourite UNSC ship?

Oof, this is a hard one. I'll be answering these by subclasses since that's the only way I can start singling out stuff - if you told me to pick an Ultimate Favorite Ship, we'd be here forever. Let's start with the dropships, for example. I *adore* the Albatross' design, and- oh, wait, this is about *singular* ships, isn't it. Oh, well, I won't be erasing my previous words. I am partial to the Spirit Of Fire due to it being a retrofitted colony ship. Reminds me of the Titans in Titanfall, who were used to help with terraforming planets and gathering vast amounts of crops and such before they were turned into war machines.

🥊 - who are you beating the shit out of?

Huh. Another difficult one, but in a different way. If you asked me at the very beginning of my Halo journey, my answer would've been Dr. Halsey. I've seen the light since, though. Halo is a bit of a strange case for me because if we ignore the obvious answer of Captain Ingridson and non-answers like everyone who has ever worked at ONI, there aren't many people that I can name from the top of my head I'd want to throw hands with. Maybe it's time for a re-read of some books or Halopedia pages. With that said, the final answer is Jun. And that one guy from the latest Flood short story who didn't listen to his ship AI. He's pissed me off so bad I don't even remember his name, but fuck 'im in particular.

⭐ - share your favourite piece of halo lore

I'm grateful I got this question twice because I get to discuss various things. At the risk of it being too broad of an answer, I will say that one of my favorite aspects of Halo lore is the politics of future humanity. I haven't seen a lot of people talk about the Koslovics and Friedens and the Interplanetary War in general - though, granted, before the Mythos came out in 2016, they were only mentioned on Bungie's site and the Halo timeline on Xbox.com. I'm glad Mythos gave us some names to work with, but I can't help but yearn for more pre-Human-Covenant War political lore outside of the "Innies vs the UNSC" struggle. Do not get me started on the Colonial Military Authority and how the UNSC absorbed and dismantled them and the differences in the ways the two organizations operate.

it’s only been a hot second since i started writing again but to answer, i’m finding myself gravitating more towards fluff, hurt/comfort, and angst! i also enjoy exploring the mundane/slices of life, as well as psychological concepts (im a psych major lmao) and making them the center of a fic.

as for universes, i prefer to set my fics in canon & not diverging as much as possible, but i do like a good soulmate au! i WANT to be good at writing smut bc 👀👀👀 but i still have a lot of practicing to do lol. when it comes to boundaries, u can see my restrictions here!! as for icks, i hate it when a fic doesn’t have good pacing (NOT that im any good at it but i try 😭). i also prefer good banter/dialogue over long descriptions.

the last anniversary by liane moriarty

[audiobook, listened in english]

a young, divorced woman named sophie hears that she's inherited the house of aunt connie, the matriarch of a family famous for the mysterious disappearance of a couple who left a baby behind. sophie moves to the house and starts mingling with aunt connie's large family, not all of whom are happy that connie left the house to an outsider. the PoV mostly alternates between sophie and another young woman in the family, occasionally featuring other people too. (somehow the dead aunt connie is one of the PoVs as well)

➕ really pleasantly fleshed out characters ➕ i enjoy stories about one large family and its several generations ➕ captivating storytelling ➕ in a way i liked the Big Mysteries of this novel having been so mundane…

➖ …but i did not start this book because i wanted to read heart-warming chick lit about relationship problems and post-partum depression. i picked it because it was recommended in a list titlted something like "the best mystery novels to read this summer!!" or whatever. i've come to realise this was not a list of "who done it" murder mysteries or even anything similar. the "mystery" in this book was the munro baby mystery that the family is famous for that's eventually revealed (but again, even after the reveal there's 1½ hours left of the book, so it's not the main focus at all), and maybe the question of why connie left the house to sophie but that's never really answered so, never mind. so this was extremely underwhelming against those expectations. ➖ there are a lot of switching PoVs, sometimes in the middle of a chapter, and it's sometimes hard to keep track of who we are even talking about and when. especially in audiobook format where they didn't leave any gap between changes in PoV. so it just continues, and if i'm not listening sharply enough, i'll miss that there even was a change and nothing will make sense for a bit. i really dislike this lack of silent gaps in audiobooks with only one reader. ➖ one of the main characters, sophie, i found rather aggravating and unrelatable. or more like, she was portrayed as very relatable in the beginning, she's almost 40 and single and feels like shit about it and has a blushing problem, i thought she'd be kind of a socially awkward character and easy to relate to. the story then goes on to describe that oh she's actually the most beautiful girl in the world and adored by everyone and several men (AND a woman) in the story just fall for her extremely easily, even though [spoiler] she doesn't end up together with any of them, but still.

⭐ score: 3 -- not bad, just not what i wanted. i don't really even have anything else to say. this book would probably resonate a lot more with people who related to the two main women more.

Asher 🌹 Riddle n Asher dont interact much but they dont have any negative views on each other. Neither have different conflicts of interest nor does anything that the other would see as wrong. Asher is respectful towards Riddle n while he thinks Riddle has a bit of anger issues he rather look at his skills as a mage. ♠️ Asher n Deuce have a v good friendship! Deuce loves knowing small bits n pieces of his future like what might happen tomorrow or n 20 years just small mundane things rather than big important things. Deuce has asked Asher to keep anything thats important to himself because he thinks thats to much to know. Asher is very fond of Deuce as he can tell he isnt wanting to know his future for gain but rather a curiosity n to Asher thats very respectable. ⭐ Asher usually has to limit Kalim to no more than 4 questions a day because loves getting his future told n will even ask Asher what he will b doing 5 mins from now. So while Asher loves kalims excitement he cant use his UM all the time on whims for Kalim. Sometimes Asher will tell Kalim small lies like what he will b eating for lunch which Kalim gets excited about Asher future predictions not knowing Asher can smell what food is packed in his lunch box.

Azar 🐍 n 👑 already answered here! ♣️ Azar finds Trey rather boring and unimpressive he thinks Trey could do so much more with his UM than make sweets taste different. Azar also isnt a fan of sweets n baked goods so he doesnt even find his cooking to b something to brag about. While Trey finds Azar a little to much to handle the tiger beastmen is a little to intense for him. Trey rather stay out of Azar’s way n when they r face to face he acts nice so that Azar doesnt get to competitive or see him as a challenge.

Rusty 🔥 Idia hates Rusty and thinks hes a cheat. Rusty always winning every game he plays even f its his first time not to mention always getting lucky pulls on gacha. Idia just knows hes cheating but doesnt know how to prove it. Rusty isnt much of a gamer but he like everyone else likes to win so he does use his UM to boost his odds he thinks Idia’s reactions to him always winning r funny so he keeps doing it. Rusty has offered to pull for Idia but the other always refuses saying he doesnt need others luck. 🐲 Malleus can tell Rusty is a powerful mage and can sense that he has strong magic he just doesnt know what Rusty is able to do or how strong Rusty actually is. He doesnt buy Rusty’s just a average person façade n knows he concealing his true magic. This makes Malleus very weary of him as he doesnt know who Rusty is or what Rusty is doing with so much magic. Rusty knows Malleus can see thru him so he never uses his UM around him so he wont b able to pick up on it. Rusty isnt scared of Malleus but will pretend to b like everyone else so he doesnt stand out to much and avoids Malleus as much as possible the less ppl who know how strong he is the better. 🐾 Ruggie can tell when some ones lying and Rusty is def lying about something he just doesnt know what. But then again Ruggie doesnt really care much to find out all he really knows is good things happen when Rusty is around so therefore he cant b that bad of a guy. Rusty likes Ruggie n find his uncaring attitude towards his secrets refreshing as he doesnt have to worry about not using his UM around Ruggie. As Ruggie likely wont figure it out exact n Rusty can give Ruggie a little bit of luck to go on his day. N sevens knows he needs it when taking care of Leona.

Not being in control of her own body. It’s hard to scare her for the most part, as she grew up with demons for parents, and they taught her well how to take care of herself, how to defend herself - but how do you defend yourself against yourself? How do you stop when someone else is controlling you? The thought has always terrified her, which means that she is having a Bad Time right now in game lmao

You’ll never see fear in her eyes unless she is on the verge of death and she knows it. She knows how to bury that shit and mask it - unless you are very close to her or her mother, there’s really no noticing that she’s freaking out until it’s far too late.

If Song is running, you better be running, too.

She’s definitely not scary at first. She’s slender and she smiles a lot - she’s very good at getting people to let their guard down. If you’re on the other end of her blade, though, and she’s decided you’re dead, it’s terrifying because she’s probably still smiling.

💧 What is the earliest memory your OC can recall? Do they know what their first words were or remember where they took their first steps? Do they have any mementos of their childhood they’ve kept such as a stuffed toy or tiny baby clothes?

Her earliest memory is of her mothers - there’s rain falling, thunder rumbling overhead, and she remembers suddenly the image of her mom, Val’s face coming into view over her. After that, she remembers being held by strong arms, and feeling overwhelmingly safe.

Her first word, as Val likes to remind her wife, was Mama, which is what she calls Val. Mal’s name is Mum.

She still has her first knife - it has a phrase in Infernal carved on it, which just translates to “We are always with you - love, Mal and Val”

🌳 Compare your OC to themself from 10 years ago. How has their mental state changed since then, how have they aged and grown up? Would they say they’re in a better place than they were back then or do they need help? What advice would they give their younger self? What advice would their younger self give to them now?

10 years ago she was 17 and seriously considering bard college, but not for the right reasons. She’d fallen into an infatuation with a girl in the city, and she wanted to travel the world with her. Turned out, after she finally brought her back to meet her mothers, that she was a bit of a racist. She called Song all kinds of mean names and never spoke to her again.

She became a harder person after that. She’s more reckless now, for good or ill, she’s not sure. Any romantic attachments she has now, she’s always the one that’s the least invested, pulling away before anyone can hurt her like that again. She’d rather be a heartbreaker than heartbroken.

What advice would she give? “Try not to get abducted by Mindflayers, maybe.”

Her younger self would... probably have nothing much to say to her now other than, “Uhhh, stay alive??”

When she was little, she always thought it’d be cool to be a tiefling like her parents. Now, though, she’s pretty content with how everything looks. She wouldn’t change any of it, even the scars on her face.

She has some tattoos, but she’ll probably get a few more if she lives through this whole ordeal. Seems like a trivial thing to worry about being too expensive now.

2021 has been well... 2021. Pop-punk took the world by storm (again), digital avatars of apathetic primates left some questioning if a glossy JPEG is a better investment than becoming a homeowner, and the world attempted to return to some semblance of normalcy. And yet, throughout it all, music prevailed.

While we already chronicled the albums that soundtracked this very weird year, we could not enter 2022 in good conscience without checking in with our staff. This is the best of 2021, according to Ones to Watch.

Describe Your 2021 with one song: Terry Presume - “ZaZa and Some Runtz.” Hard to argue with analytics on this one, an organ backed strut song to keep me prepped for the ultra quarantine imminencewas my most played song.

Most Underrated Artist of 2021: Appleby. His persistence and artistry maturates into such sonic beauty it makes me emo anytime it plays, give it a listen and you’ll feel the same.

Best Breakout Artist of 2021: Audrey Nuna. More obvious ones undoubtedly, but Audrey used the pandemic period to grow her brand in a way that was truly impressive: huge fashion placements, commercials and syncs, followed by festive billings and sold out shows, yet her unique style never wained.

Biggest Artist Crush of 2021: Petey. Arriving late in the year, this artist seemed to bottle up the angst of the past years and created a therapeutic hopscotch of songs that could deliver you to the other side where hope awaited. The chorus sing along with strangers at his first show in LA turned it into cathartic group therapy, and we were all better for it.

Favorite Music Video of 2021: Sad Night Dynamite, IDK - “Psychedelic Views.” If you’ve been on this trip then this surreal POV dream within a dream melange should be enough for honest flashback recall. Enjoy.

Favorite Song of 2021: C. Tangana, Niño de Elche, La Húngara - “Tú Me Dejaste De Querer.” A celebratory song I loved playing in contrasts (among the rolling hills of upstate New York especially), no setting wasn’t better for it being played loudly. If the tired tropes of reggaeton could mature into this post-flamenco gem about the arbitrage of love & sex, we’ll be so much the better for it.

Favorite Album of 2021: Terry Presume - What Box?. Technically an EP, this work like all great collections of songs, amplified all I was feeling and provided on demand delirium what’re the mood. Proper propulsion for your soul at a time when its is always being tested, Terry is the medicine.

Best Breakout Artist of 2021: Bella Poarch. I'll admit I was quick to judge her skills before even listening to her sing because of her TikTok fame, but I'm happy I gave her music a chance because she oozes talent and artistic vision.

Biggest Artist Crush of 2021: Pom Pom Squad and Divino Niño.

Favorite Music Video of 2021: Bella Poarch - "Build a Bitch." The concept is simple, and the song may be short, but it's still an extremely engaging video with an empowering storyline.

3. . What is your writing space like? What’s the vibe?

It can be a crowded space. There are a lot of books I picked out on world-building. I have two notebooks worth of stuff for a thing off tumblr with a friend on Discord. I have two sketchbooks for wet media. Dirty dishes that need to be cleared from dinner. A bunch of notebooks centered on various subjects such as gaming and whatnot. It is small and cozy, and I do my best ;~;.

Overall, I would say it's an organized chaotic mess.

Questions for the mun | 7. What do you do when you're bored?

I either take a nap, listen to music, or try to do something which I'm creating. There's not much of us on this platform, and drafts come in a few for me since currently I've only got muse for original characters and Chrome. And there are more active versions of the muses I picked as well, but that's more my fault than anything.

I have an account on WorldAnvil. It is a site dedicated to making campaigns for tabletop rpg's mostly, but it's also a place I like to use for world-building. I hang out there sometimes now. I would say there's a lot more to it than ToyHouse which centers around organizing your characters. There are other sites that I looked at that are similar and less expensive than WorldAnvil's paid plans, but I'm happy where I am.

If you caught me years ago when I was in my 20s I would be talking your ear off about my Zodiac Senshi.

My account is here. I do have some worlds I'm building, but I haven't published their stories yet. My worlds are set to private, just in case. I do have to warn you, that one of them is not Tumblr-safe. It's a magnus opus like O.ne Piece is to Oda. My debut comic is getting ignored at the moment... ;;; but I haven't renamed it. It is a magical girl, and no it is not inspired by R.WBY. I get that a lot since the main character is a girl that uses a scythe...

I do have a magical girl setting for my Zodiac girls, but I'm trying to think more of an original setting. There is already a Zodiac magical girls thing from D.ark H.orse...? It's more Sentai (power rangers) I feel, and reminds me of my magical girl series I started in elementary called Rainbowteers...

These are not in any particular order but, it's basically a list of all your One Piece muses that you have muse for:

Ahmya -- Might get along with Marie, since they both control blood. For Marie, it is via devil fruit. I think they can learn from one another, and Marie is a doctor so she carries around extra pints of blood with her just in case anyone needs a transfusion. Marie might learn to not rely so heavily on her devil fruit. I'll have to know more about her, but I also think she might get to interact with Miyuki (another swordswoman) and Nerissa (a fishwoman).

Canons

Zoro -- I can see him getting along with Miyuki because both are swordsmen. He might find her a little annoying at first, I'm not sure, but he probably appreciates her knowing her way around being her crew's navigator. Robin, she might mess with him by taking the wrong path on purpose. I find my Robin to be a bit chaotic... (She would definitely give Chopper espresso...)

Usopp -- Might get along with Ana considering both are responsible for making their crew's weapons and being snipers. He might also understand Shakti's struggles with getting used to pirate life and its dangers considering he was a bit of a coward. I think she would also recognize the impact shell he used, being a sky islander. Robin is game for scaring him with her morbid jokes.

Nami -- I'd probably throw Miyuki and Feiyu at her since they both help with navigating their crew's ship. However, I think Miyuki would find Nami's knowledge in haggling to be absolutely imperative. I think Nerissa would remind her of Robin, since she's calm, but also of Bellemere in a way... strangely? Of course, my Robin is game to go on shopping sprees, and I'm sitting on Vivi taking care of Nami while she's sick.

Luffy -- needs to get to know Mira and Mira needs to get to know him. She's seen the newspaper reports on him, and she's not impressed. She's a hard customer to please. For me, Mira has a tendency for impulsiveness, so I think she would put in the plans early on "Luffy will do his own thing and figure out from there..." Robin in the meanwhile is just, "That's my son..."

Vivi -- Vivi and Robin need to have a discussion about forgiveness so they can move on as fellow Straw Hats. We both roleplay as these two, so it's kind of an either-or situation.

Hiyori -- I haven't gotten far in Wano, but I believe Robin would be up for interacting with her. I'm up to the assassination/execution of that one guy and everyone's on Smile.

Law -- I'm game for Robin interacting with Law. I think Mira might be able to be friends with him, but I am not sure. They're both hard customers.

These are just what I have for now, but I'm also interested in your OP OCs as well.
