It's a running joke that most everyone in the Hideaway is busy doing something for Mid. Even Blackthorne, who ordinarily wouldn't be keen to do a project outside of his usual work, relents to Mid easily. It's not just because everyone loved Cid -- Mid, in all her genius and infectious enthusiasm, has a knack for rallying everyone together. It's a stroke of luck that there's someone around who has the desire and the knowledge to make a full fucking fledged ship.

Gav can't even fathom all the technical crap that goes into it, so he's content to leave the heavy thinking to Mid while he offers (albeit with some grumbling) to do the heavy lifting.

A trip to Kanver, though, is easy enough. But her offer to accompany Gav surprises him. "Come with me to Kanver? Y'know there's all sorts of beasts and baddies on the road, right?" Even if they dodge the akashic (which he feels reasonably sure he can manage), Mid would still be in danger unless she could defend herself.

Gav places his hands on his hips, his head tilting in skepticism. "D'ya actually know how to fight? I might be able to cover both of us for a while but if push comes to shove, we might be fucked," he cautions. "Wouldn't mind having some company, as long as I know we'll both come back in one piece."

Not so excited about this arc to be honest, it feels too much like Ash series with a lot of episodes centred on training/gym battles and I personally find those kind of things pretty boring especially if you compare it to all the interesting stuff they gave us in ep 45 which will be ignored for the next 20 + episodes... yay...

Worst of all is the lack of Amethio for probably the next 10 + episodes yay for that too...

I'm not really looking forward to it but I'll accept it and watch it anyway maybe it will be better than I thought who knows...

Friede researching on Lucius gives me hope we will still have a parallel mini arc with him going places and maybe meeting Amethio/Spinel or Gibeon? Idk hope we see something like that and not just gym battles stuff for the whole arc.

no but i LOVE 'undercover' queer horror. stuff you grow up with as weird cult classics that are widely regarded as goofy and campy and a little bit terrible but they're no less iconic and then you grow up and learn that the creators are queer and see the story through that lens and understand the specific nexus of trauma and rage and loss and loneliness and otherness and joy and power and passion and love and defiance and radical self-acceptance that feeds every character and monster and shapes everything from their choices to their forms. Her confidence is both reassuring and not. Still, Clive has to trust that she is as capable as always even if she looks like the girl she is not.
