I updated the epilogue of It's Called Freefall by Rainbow Kitten Surprise to add my cover of its namesake song instead of the Paris Paloma version that's on the playlist. If you're an old reader who's already finished the fic but would like to hear the song, here it is! Love you guys, thanks for all the love you've sent my way, and I hope you're all having a wonderful day. 🥰
Rainbow Kitten Surprise is an American alternative rock indie band, featuring lead vocalist Ela Melo, Darrick "Bozzy" Keller (guitar, backup vocals), Ethan Goodpaster (electric guitar), and Jess Haney (drums). The band formed in Boone, North Carolina. (Robbinsville, North Carolina is the hometown of Ethan Goodpaster and Jess Haney.) Rainbow Kitten Surprise's sound has been influenced by artists such as Modest Mouse, Kings of Leon, Frank Ocean, and Schoolboy Q.

About It's Called: Freefall
This song tells a story of someone who spent their whole life trying to be a good friend to others, but is always resented and left alone. With nothing else left in his life, he turns to the devil for friendship, and even the Devil is unwilling and unavailable to him. Rather than turn the narrator to vice or put up a fight, the Devil pushes him further into despair, suggesting that he give up, commit freefall. When introducing this song at The Capitol Theater, Ela explained:
When I was a kid, a wise man once told me, “Son don’t you call the Devil unless you want the Devil to come.” And, I didn’t believe him. I thought, “Man, this old man’s crazy.” I thought, “I’m young. If the Devil comes to me, Imma fight him. Imma fight the Devil. I’ll take him one-on-one.” And, the older I got, the dumber I got. Then one day, I called the devil. And guess what happened? Guess what happened?! It’s called: freefall."
Anyway - My favorite song is „It‘s called: Freefall“ by Rainbow Kitten surprises (it literally reminds me of Nark)
Just - already the beginning of the lyrics:
„Called to the devil and the Devil did come. I said to the Devil „Devil do you like 𝑫𝒓𝒖𝒎𝒔? Do you like 𝑪𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒔, 𝑫𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒐𝒔, 𝑹𝒖𝒎?“ He said only „𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏, 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚𝒔, 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒎𝒂𝒔“
You can tell me what you want but I could do all the rest of the song and show you every little thing that reminds me of Lark and Nick
“Don't get me ventin' on friends who resent you
'Cause all you've ever done is been a noose to hang onto
They thought was a necklace, and reckless, you fell
Into Hell where you both hang with nothing to do but
Scratch, kick, let gravity win, like
Fuck this, let gravity win, like
You can leave it all behind
Even the Devil needs time alone sometime”
