Me with an elaborate self insert who's Jason's Darling and has the ability to enter people's subconscious, and who only got to see how Jason died after Bruce finally goes to her for help with the dream that makes up the plot of Arkham VR

Like they were high school sweethearts that met as vigilantes (him under Batman, her either on her own or tutored by someone like Zatanna) and Bruce refused to show her the footage of him being tortured and killed. So for years she resented Bruce for never letting her have that closure. She tried using necromancy to talk to his spirit at least, but never could. Does that mean his spirit got closure and moved on? But...how? How could he have moved on so easily to the afterlife if he was killed like that?

She tries to accept that he's gone and eventually becomes friendly with Tim, even if she initially hated Bruce and this new guy for "replacing" Jason so soon after he died. But Bruce explains that he recruited Tim to investigate since his detective skills are top notch, and eventually they become friends. After experiencing Batman's dream, feeling what he does and seeing it through his eyes, she gets more emotional when she sees Tim or Dick. So when the Arkham Knight finds footage of her hugging and clinging to Dick and sobbing while he comforts her, and sees how close they are through their text messages and calls, he thinks that Darling's moved on to Nightwing.

She's only like that because she just saw herself, AS Batman, beat him to death. She can't bear the thought of anyone else she cares about dying so brutally, especially because of Joker.

ok umm i'll explain the best i can bc words always sound better in my head then fall apart in text ^.^ (um dont laugh at me i started this story in elementary lol)

this is caesar, a "man-made demon" who was previously human but got fucked up from an experiment directed by him and his girlfriend. okay from here i'm just gonna start spewing details i cant think of a way to organize my thoughts sorry..

urm Caesar isn't his birth name he does have a human one except i want to change it because it didnt fit him, it is in reference to the caesar cipher can't remember the reason though.

some background details: his girlfriend is named Allyson and has two parents that are famous engineers and inventors, her father leonardo though isn't human (does not know this) but he does practice small magic (like a teeny flame from his finger nothing crazy) and tells his Allyson and her younger sibling, Pludo, that magic is just a science humans have yet to understand and this inspires them silly crazy, mostly Ally.

Both Pludo and Allyson try to learn from him but unfortunately it's an innate ability that Ally possesses and Pludo does not. There's a reason why but i shant explain it just yet.

Allyson who is fascinated with computer and chemical engineering and magic badly wants to experiment with combining the two, the magic which isnt totally magic it's actually bits of divine or otherworldly ability (nobody but Leo knows this),

Caesar loves her so much and is just as fascinated by her ideas and joins her to conduct experiments in one of Leonardo's abandoned labs in the woods outside the city, (he gave it to his two kids as like a hangout spot) and Pludo goes with them from time to time, seeing it as an opportunity to learn more about what they can do with this magic or whatever.

um lol the experiment does go haywire and creates something that infects Caesar turning him into a frenzied delirious out of control etc etc demon, dripping infectious demonic goop everywhere, and he ends up killing Allyson by impaling her in her right eye and Pludo see's their sister's dead body fun times.

anyways "the eyes are the window to the soul" is an important theme in this story but Caesar now has the ability to extract someone's soul or taint it / control it or whatever in the form of an orb with his goopy (i dont have a name for it yet). Because he's unstable and nuts right now he only extracts a broken half of Allyson's soul.

Pludo using their collected knowledge of their parents and Allyson's and Caesar's studies, they manage to subdue him, and stabilize him by drilling ports into his body and hooking him up to a bunch of machinery that keeps him <3 normal. Doing this does infect Pludo and turns them into like one of his acolytes.

Whatever's on him does infect the city and turns everyone pretty mindless and bleh, Allyson and Pludo's parents go missing or so we think. There are a select few that aren't fully affected by this demon virus or whatever, but they do get specific or unique abilities from it, Pludo and Caesar take them in as subordinates, acolytes, whatever. They're just the only one's in the city still conscious and aware and Caesar feels bad if they just have to live in a barely functioning city pretty much full of zombies so they might as well help out.

Around this point, Pludo's moved Caesar into their parent's real massive laboratories think similar to Aperture Science from portal and designs a machine to connect him that also creates a virtual reality of some sort. since he's infected the city he also holds control over their souls and they can live in this vr city world idk tbh work with me on this.

It's more so Pludo's plan to let everyone continue living in this virtual world to continue Ally's experiments with combining magic and computer engineering and sciences, and they leave it up to Caesar to remain inside to develop this virtual world that she would've wanted.

Caesar still in possession of the other broken half of Allyson's soul is convinced he can bring her back some how and wants to persue this, but with his lack of any real mobility or independent control he can't do much in the real world, and Pludo's already given up on the idea and convinces him to just stay inside the fake world so he's asleep for the most part.

He does unhook a little bit every now and then to interact and look after these two orphans he took in but it can't be for long or too many cables out since he could lose control again. Any real world business he relies on Pludo to run and direct and his acolytes to carry out.

I used to have him be very smug and kind of a dick but he's lost a lot and feels immense guilt for Allyson's death, and ridding Pludo and his subordinates of their normal lives, so um he's kind of lost and sad but he has happy moments every now and then i think.

I think from the start of this to present time where the actual plot of the story begins 6 years has passed. so he's 19 starting and 26 present time or whatever and Pludo's 21 now

Ok here's the X-Men oc based off that Powerlisting random choice I got. It's kinda convoluted but stay with me lol

This is her first look when everyone including her thinks her power is just related to string and she's blatantly borrowing her style from Jolyne Cujoh. She's a massive fan of the character and it's part of why her mutant ability manifests the way it does. Her code name is Dream Weaver (She wanted "Arachne" but found out that a Spider-Woman hero already had that name and didn't want to confuse people--she already gets enough Spider-Man comparisons...) and can alter her body as if it were made of super strong string. It takes a lot of training but she has the potential to make it strong enough to be slashed by Adamantium and not get cut.

Initially, she and everyone else assumes her mutant power is related only to string. But during a life-threatening fight, she winds up losing control and in a fit of rage she winds up wrapping her strings around a Sentinel and suddenly makes them disappear...only to reappear in random pieces that look incredibly strange. Some are blinking lights, some are covered in glitter, some are floating in midair, some are turning into spiders and crawling around.

From this point on, her powers start going haywire with odd results. Sometimes the laws of physics just stop working and anything that comes into contact with her strings gets manipulated in weird ways. Sometimes her strings can pick up the thoughts of people nearby as if it were a telephone wire. Eventually Jean and Professor X start to pick up on how her power has developed, and have to call on Scarlet Witch to weigh in. Jean examines her mind and she and Scarlet conclude that the strings are a kind of self-imposed limit on how her mutant power really works--instead of String Manipulation/Physiology, it's more like Reality Breaking. The only reason it manifested in the form of strings is because of Dream Weaver's fixation on her favorite character when her power manifested as a teen.

So now she has to do a metric ton of special training since her potential power level could get to near-Phoenix levels or Wanda's Probability Manipulation if she isn't careful; Wanda manipulates probability and the laws of the universe, but Weaver's power by default breaks it. They're similar, but breaking is much more prone to causing problems. She basically has to learn how to break the universe and laws of reality in small ways to avoid causing damage to space-time.

#x-men oc #.oc #the Powerlisting wiki gave me Reality Break as the random result but I didn't want her to just be completely busted in terms of power #so initially it has a hard limit and once she realizes how dangerous her ability could be she has to train her ass off to be able to use it #without major consequences. idk how to explain properly but she has to learn how to break reality with small chips/cracks and think through #HOW shes going to. kinda like how you have to be specific when making wishes w/ a genie or dealing with the fae to avoid catastrophe #.x-men #also she has a crush on Nightcrawler (and Jean. And Wanda. And Storm and Jubilee...she gets crushes easily ok) but doesnt want to act on it

Arden the Delinquent,

The player can find Arden behind the school most days, hanging around a supply shed, Standing at about a 5'10 and generally looming.

They keep a baseball bat nearby.

"...What? D'you want your ass kicked or something?"

The PC could endear themselves to Arden by being generally pleasant, or just use them to grind that sadomasochism stat by instigating fights. It's not hard.

Arden is socially an idiot, so attempting to endear yourself with jokes, or laughing at their expense, feels threatening, so they'll attempt to kick the shit out of you.

High-love Arden has a chance of saving PC from other students, but will request that the PC doesn't tell anyone that it was with the intent to help them.

"Hey, if you aren't careful someone is going to seriously hurt you..."

Arden has long hair, Always!

M!Arden keeps his hair in a low ponytail and has this really sturdy jacket that they keep over their uniform

F!Arden keeps her hair loose, but with an undercut,

Universally, Arden is a pretty brunette, they always tuck their uniform shirt into their pants/skirt and have the top few buttons undone

Paranoid idiot. Knows exactly what the town is like.

Total Virgin. Inexperienced. Partly because they assume people are asking for a fight.

Hates, fears, and respects the nasty good doctor Harper

A submissive!PC will have an easier time befriending Arden, since Arden thinks you're high-key pathetic and need help and protection. Simply for the reason that if they were you, they'd want one safe person

"You need money right? Take it then. No questions asked. It's fine. I want you to have it."

Defiant!PCs who endear/befriend Arden are given a degree of respect. A smidgeon. A little. Defiant!PC gets invited to steal shit/break stuff. A more emotional Arden tends to be more volatile. PC gets to keep whatever they steal/give it to Arden and get cash value for it.

"What are you waiting for? It's just glass, they can afford to fix it.

If you're worried about getting caught, don't. I'm the one who swung the bat."

Some more miscellaneous interactions that I like to think about;

Relationship to NPCs;

Gets embarrassed when returning books to the library if the PC is there, always returns the book on time/early, Sydney comments on it.

Likes Kylar in the same way that they like pathetic PC, like, they're just a little guy. Kylar hangs out on the stump behind the school and is in a relatively safe since Arden is there.

I headcannon that Whitney and Arden used to be neighbors and played together when they were kids, so Arden hesitates more to help the PC if Whitney is the one harassing them. (Will save the PC if they mention their name at high love, but takes -love for putting them in that position.)

Desperately wants Whitney to quit smoking.

Dismissing Arden should be an option and I've thought of a couple of ways to go about it; have Arden arrested, they get the blame if when you raid with them you leave tons of evidence. Two, leave them alone, do not engage, Arden takes care of themselves in a default circumstance. TBA

Arden does not trust any of the staff at the school. They're already in shit with the teachers, they'd just be blamed anyway.

Actually really likes math, since they're good at it. Used to only attend classes taught by River.
