#; REVISING MY INITIAL THESIS ( headcanon. )
Note
Hello! If you don't mind me asking how do you write Simaris? It's for a story I'm making and I feel that I'm just not doing it... right? I can't even explain how I'm writing him that's how clueless I am
// Hello! It’s no problem at all, I’d be happy to describe my methods for him. But, let me start with: don’t be down on yourself! Simaris is difficult to write for, and it can be tricky to find his voice.
// To save people’s dashes from this thesis paper I’m about to type up, I’ll put the rest under a cut. I’ll have a few general tips as well as my specific Simaris writing methods.
// First, I’d highly recommend going through the wiki of Simaris quotes and first reading, then listening to the audio of his lines. Both initially, and whenever you feel stuck or you’re searching for a tone. It will help you get a better idea of his speech patterns, vocabulary, inflections and tone, all of which can be useful when writing dialogue. Canon lines are also a way to figure out behavioral patterns. It’s a good, objective base to start with.
// Some base dialogue tips for you: he has a bit of a strange, semi-formal way of speaking. He doesn’t speak like a thesaurus, but slang and contractions are not something he indulges in often. He has been known to throw in a sentence that sounds poetic or flourishy to make a point. However, he will typically be straightforward when he speaks.
// You’ll find a few constants with Simaris’s behavior too: he’s very enthusiastic about his work with Sanctuary, and not particularly forgiving to those who get in the way (example, he yells at Tenno who kill Synthesis targets, but praises those who capture them successfully).  Simaris talks as if he’s big and important and the king of his own realm - because, to be fair, he kind of is when it comes to Sanctuary. He can be bossy and more often gives commands than makes requests. He’s also very blunt when he speaks - sometimes abrasive and rude. Simaris does not sugarcoat. But, he also rarely outright lies, and usually just withholds information instead.
// He’s also not as openly emotional as say, Ordis would be.However, Simaris does still display emotion; he gushes over his Helios sentinels, and can get frustrated or angry fairly easily. And, however much he insists emotional actions and caring for others are glitches and he is beyond them, Simaris will show up when things get bad, and he will act in defense of those he is shown to have relationships/acquaintanceships with.
// Simaris is, honestly, kind of a jerk if you just take him at face value. But, if you dig deeper than that and analyze some of his dialogue, there are suggestions that he is capable of growth and acting better than he has in the past. I like to capitalize on the underlying traits of Simaris, and think that he actually does care deeply about certain people. But I mostly limit this to people he is known to associate repeatedly with in canon - so basically, Suda and Ordis.
// Also, when you write for Sim, remember that his primary motivation is Sanctuary. It’s his main precept, and if the Sanctuary is at stake, he will usually act in Sanctuary’s interests, much as Ordis would act in the Operator’s interests.
// Once you get a good idea of how canon Simaris behaves, then you can try to extend that to other situations. I’m not sure about the context of your story, so I’ll try to give you an idea of the way I choose to write him, just in case that helps you.I’ll be getting into headcanon territory some of this, so take everything after this point with a grain of salt. If you like it and agree, feel free to apply it to your version; just keep in mind these statements may not be supported by canon.
// If you plan on putting Simaris into a relationship, I would personally say to have him show hesitation and restraint. I do not see Simaris as the type to bust down the door and declare his love for someone. He’s much more likely to pretend he doesn’t have those feelings at all, and once he is forced to acknowledge them, he will be at kind of a loss on how to deal with it. Hopefully, he will have a more emotionally clued-in partner, because he’s going to need it.
// I theorize that his apparent need for control and quick temper when things don’t go to plan originate from an underlying anxiety disorder that was severe when he was human, but repressed when he became a Cephalon. He’s someone with anxiety trying to pretend as though they don’t have anxiety. If you’ve ever known anyone like that, you’ll quickly understand what I mean. He keeps up a facade of control, but as soon as he is challenged to any great degree, his neurotic tendencies will show.
// I think that about covers the bases! The last piece of advice I can leave you with is this: the more you write for Simaris, the more naturally you’ll be able to fall into it. But, do not be afraid to repeatedly revise your parts for him. I had a hard time finding my Simaris voice when I started this blog, and would often have to take longer periods of time than normal to figure out my replies. I still do that, but trust me, where Simaris is concerned, practice and repeated listens of canon dialogue really do help.
// I hope all of this makes sense and is helpful general advice! Please feel free to send more asks about specific points if you want advice on any one aspect of writing Simaris in particular.

Literally nobody asked for this but to have a very broad overview on how I think the Evil Speedsters(tm) fight is
-Eobard: He hits fast, he hits hard. Unless fighting the Flash, he tends to be very economic in his movements and tries to go for efficiency. If he’s fighting Barry, he will either relish every moment, or be extremely emotionally volatile and be prone to making mistakes / being sloppy. Calculated in most scenarios. Focus on Jiu-jitsu and boxing.  -Hunter: Very beastial and visceral. He is there to cause pain and enjoy every moment. Claws and slashing in addition to the super sped punches. Think CQC and Bare-Knuckle Boxing. -Eddie: Relies mostly on his police combat training and the constructs he creates with the Philosopher’s Stone, though he is nowhere near proficient with the weapons he creates. Hard to avoid a sharp stick when its moving at mach 3, though, so he is still a dangerous combatant. -Savitr: Has learned a variety of techniques over the years due to his prolonged lifespan. Unlike Eddie, who relied on the constructs, Savitr uses the constructs as an extension to his moves. Focus on Kalaripayattu and Savate. Doesn’t enjoy causing pain like Zoom does, but he does subscribe to the notion of ‘I won’t start it but I will make damn sure I finish it’ so don’t expect him to go easy on you. -August: Similar to Eddie, he also relies on his police combat training, but while Eddie relied on constructed weapons, August relies more on-- Well, himself. Making use of his Speed Scout ability to create numerous copies of himself to overwhelm his enemy. -Meena: Least ‘trained fighter’ of the bunch, Meena uses her powers to get in and out of places fast. When engaged, she relies more on phasing and momentum rather than pure power. Elements of Capoeira can also be seen.

From The Logs of Professor Eobard Thawne, With Information Compiled From The Flash Museum Database. FILE NAME: S.F.U. 0006 NAME: Thawne, Edward. ALIAS: Cobalt Blue, Malcolm Gilmore. PROFESSION: Detective, scientist, Criminal. ABILITIES: Philosopher’s Stone Empowerment / Artificial Speed Force User, Hard Light Construct Creation. STATUS: DECEASED. PROFESSOR’S NOTES:
Ah, Eddie. Eddie, Eddie, poor little old Eddie. The lowest branch of the Thawne Family tree, our Eddie Thawne never amounted to much. Just a simple little police officer in a simple little city-- Until that one time he tried to heroically sacrifice himself to stop yours truly. Did work for a time, of course, but the Speed Force...It likes working in mysterious ways, doesn’t it?
But this Eddie Thawne is not our Eddie Thawne-- A fact that quite upset this-- Edward from what is now an aborted timeline. Flashpoint, one of the Flash’s most spectacular failures.
Oh, but I digress.
Edward Thawne, or Malcolm Gilmore as he was known in his time, was a scientist in Mercury Labs. As useless as a man of science as he was a police officer. Guess some things never changed despite timeline alterations. However, as Alchemy tried to break down the barrier between the Flashpoint timeline and our own, our friend Malcolm ended up getting caught in the crossfire and crossing over, getting his hands on the Philosopher’s Stone, and memories of his ‘previous self’ in the process.
I suppose he did not like finding out about his death and his failed engagement.

Mother Dearest.
Matriarch of the Thawne Family, Meloni Thawne was the latest in a long line of influential politicians, scientists, and many other captains of industry. A skilled geneticist, she engineered her son, Eobard, to the most minute detail. His looks, his height, even his intelligence were, in one form or another, shaped by her hand. A shrewd businesswoman as well as a scientist, it was her goal to raise and elevate her son to become one of the most powerful man of his time, in the highest and most respected of positions.
Unfortunately, she would die before any of her plans could come to fruition. Perishing in a car accident when Eobard was around 10 years of age, leaving the young boy alone to dedicate all his time to the study of the Flash and the mysteries behind his powers.

Hailing from Earth Three (initially known as Earth Two, later changed due to a clerical error by Flash Historians) the Crime Syndicate of America are a group of superpowered individuals with less than admirable morals. Brought to Earth-One by the villainous Reverse Flash with the goal of crashing the wedding of Barry Allen and Iris West, they were soon defeated by the combined might of Flash and his Super Friends.
Members:
-Ultraman & Ultragirl. Sent to Earth at the same time, cousins Kal-El and Kara Zor-El grew up as practically siblings, and they will stop at nothing to keep each other safe. -Emerald Shooter. CEO of Queen Industries, rumors persist that Oliver Queen purposefully based himself after fellow teammate and rich person, Green Arrow, out of a petty vendetta against his alter ego, Bruce Wayne. -Uranus Pursuer. Hailing from one of Uranus’ many moons, J’onn J’onns is a relentless, as well as ruthless, pursuer of people. -Johnny Quick. Born Jonathan Allen, he was promptly murdered by the Reverse Flash upon the team’s arrival on Earth One out of sheer spite.

REPOST,   DON’T  REBLOG.
01.  WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE SMELL LIKE ?
He doesn’t go overboard with scents, some light aftershave and coffee are the most noticeable ones during work situations. He makes use of vanilla scented skin creams and body wash which leave a small lingering scent.
02.  HOW OFTEN DOES YOUR MUSE BATHE/SHOWER ?  ANY HABITS ?
Showers much more than he bathes. He likes to keep it quick (heh), but there will be long and arduous days where a long bath is preferred. He doesn’t do the full Live, Laugh, Love thing of having scented candles and a book, but he will have some classical music playing befitting of his mood.
03.  DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE ANY TATTOOS OR PIERCINGS ?
None whatsoever.
04.  ANY BODY MOVEMENT QUIRKS  (  EX.  KNEE  SHAKES  ) ?
He tends to stim with his hands a lot, loves keeping them busy, grabbing at whatever object nearby and playing with them absentmindedly. It is much more noticeable when he’s distressed. He also has a habit of removing his glasses whenever he makes a pointed comment that betrays his ‘Wells’ persona, a physical manifestation of the metaphorical removing of the mask, if you will.
as RF: either eerily still or slightly hunched and animalistic depending on the situation.
05.  WHAT DO THEY SLEEP IN ?
Doesn’t mind sleeping in his day clothes if need be, also wears matching pjs (silk, because he’s that rich bitch) or sweats. All black or greyscale in color, obviously.
06.  WHAT’S THEIR FAVORITE PIECE OF CLOTHING ?
Black sweaters all the way down. Also his Reverse Flash suit, he enjoys wearing that a lot.
07.  WHAT DO THEY DO WHEN THEY WAKE UP ?
Reenact the Dexter Intro Sequence  He’s a light sleeper, partially due to his life style (i.e. always having to keep an eye open) but also the fact that his speedster brain can get going pretty damn quickly. He can condition himself to wake up at a specific time, but generally tends to have an alarm set regardless. Breakfast tends to be simple, but plentiful in calories. (Eggs, bacon, major protein sources) During the day, he likes to drink his calories than spend time eating, so this is when he will prepare himself a thermostat full of a nutritious shake. (Speedsters need a lot more calories than a regular person). Tends to do it all without resorting to his speed, he likes the ritualistic aspect of a morning routine, will also read the news or check the TV during this time.
This routine rarely, if ever, changes.
08.  HOW DO THEY SLEEP ?  POSITION ?
Sleeps on his back, one pillow and one blanket, simple, uncomplicated.
09.  WHAT DO THEIR HANDS FEEL LIKE ?
Firm yet gentle, his hands are calloused, but the feeling is offset by making use of a skin scream which balances it out. Clean and trimmed nails.
10.  IF YOU KISSED THEM,   WHAT WOULD THEY TASTE LIKE  ?
coffee or the shake depending on the time of day (shake tastes like a chocolate protein shake), hints of a toothpaste because dental hygiene is important, whiskey in the evenings, pussy juice if you’re lucky.

THE DEFINITIVE CANON REWRITES POST
I have been writing Eobard for long enough that a lot of things has changed and shifted over the years and his canon on the blog really has become truly unrecognizable from the show. So if you came here expecting a canon compliant Eobard, you will be severely disappointed. So this post will hopefully be your handy dandy guide to all the retcons and divergences I have from all the seasons.
A final point of note is that a lot of my canon is shared with @isjustice as we are exclusives and I highly recommend you check out her season rewrites to get a better idea of the whole picture.
TL:DR -Seasons one, two and the beginning of three are canon as shown, rest of season three is not acknowledged. -Legends of Tomorrow is heavily rewritten. -Legends: Eobard in charge of the Legion of Doom is in fact Hunter Zolomon before his appearance in Flash season two. Real Eobard begrudgingly teams up with the Legends to stop him, he does “die” at the end of the adventure. -Crisis on Earth X is absolutely NOT CANON. He instead teams up with the Justice Syndicate from Earth 3 to crash the WestAllen wedding because he is petty like that. -Eobard plotline of season 5 is canon, rest is not. -Crisis on Infinite Earths is HEAVILY rewritten. Eobard assumes the role of Harbinger, during the events of the crossover he and Barry make amends and he helps the heroes defeat the Anti-Monitor. -Post Crisis is fully canon divergent. Eobard becomes Professor Zoom and is counted among the Founders of the League.
IN DEPTH BREAKDOWN:
FLASH SEASON THREE:
-Flashpoint lasts approximately six months, Eobard is still imprisoned and is keeping Barry company. Trying to be the voice of reason and make Barry revert the changes. -Flashpoint overall is a lot more fleshed out and expanded upon. Atlanteans and Amazonians, once only myths, now exist in the world and are at war with one another. -Oliver Queen has been murdered by The Condiment King. -The Atlantean - Amazonian War reaches a fever pitch and causes the destruction of the United Kingdom, upon realizing the true consequences of his actions, Barry finally lets Eobard out to ‘finish what he started’. -Upon killing Nora Allen and entering the Speed Force to take Barry home, Flashpoint!Eobard’s memories are merged with that of his season one self, leading to the restoration of Eobard Thawne proper.  -Alchemy and Cobalt Blue are the villains for the rest of season three. Savitar!Barry does not exist. -Cobalt Blue is Flashpoint Eddie Thawne who remembers that timeline and is bitter about it. Read more about it here.
LEGENDS OF TOMORROW:
-Eobard, upon attempting to run back home, is alerted to the existence of Black Flash Racer, who is an extension of the Speed Force that wants to correct the mistake that is Eobard’s paradoxical existence. -He starts running through history to find a solution to his problem, during which he discovers that there is another Eobard Thawne operating with a group called Legion of Doom. -This Eobard that is part of the Legion of Doom is in fact Hunter Zolomon, before his season two story arc in the Flash, masquerading as Eobard so his own identity is still kept a secret. -Real Eobard teams up with the Legends so the Legion of Doom doesn’t get his hands on the Spear of Destiny. -He does want the Spear for himself just to fix his paradoxical existence, but he has no desire to ‘rule’ the world. -Most of that season can happen as normal just know that ‘Eobard’ in that season is not actually Eobard -In the end, Eobard chucks Zoom back to Earth-Two but then immediately gets killed by Black Racer because time is an ironic bitch.
FLASH SEASON FOUR:
-Eobard is dead and back in the Speed Force and very desperate to go back home. -He makes a deal with the Speed Force that makes him a pure conduit of the Negative Speed Force, effectively tethering his existence to Speed Force. ( supplementary headcanon. ) -He is now a living paradox and fully connected to the Negative Speed Force, rendering him immune to timeline changes. -The moment he is out, he attempts to run back home, but Speed Force blocks him from doing so, partially as punishment for his past deeds, partially because he needs a reason to run and keep the Speed Force healthy. -CRISIS ON EARTH X DOES NOT HAPPEN, instead Eobard recruits the EARTH-THREE CRIME SYNDICATE to ruin Barry’s wedding, bitter about his new situation and his inability to run back home. -While doing so, he is starting to realize that he no longer harbors the same intense rage and hate towards Barry. -Upon Crime Syndicate’s defeat, Eobard escapes and is imprisoned in 2030 for Reasons™ -Listen the show never explained it why the fuck should I.
FLASH SEASON FIVE:
-Savit’r is the big bad of the season, Cicada gets a two-parter episode at best because he sucks. -Cicada’s dagger, however, is still in play and is what’s keeping Eobard imprisoned. -Eobard’s training of Nora takes place over a period of TWO YEARS, instead of the laughably small amount of time shown in the show. -Cicada is killed by Savit’r, who then destroys the dagger and leads to Eobard being freed. -Eobard / Nora / Barry confrontation happens as shown. -He genuinely grew fond of Nora and wanted her to survive by using the Negative Speed Force, so he is sad to see her get wiped from existence. -Upon running away from the scene, he is stopped by Mar-Novu, who promises him a way home in return for his help with the impending Crisis.
SEASON SIX (abandon all canon all ye who enter here)
CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS, EARTH ONE.:
-Eobard is The Harbinger, tasked with running between all the Earths and recruiting others. -He works with Oliver Queen during this time. -Over the course of Crisis, he comes to terms with the fact that he no longer hates Barry like he once did, so he buries the hatchet with him and finally lets go of his vendetta. -Watches Barry die as he destroys the Anti-Matter Cannon, the resulting tachyon explosion catapults Eobard back home. -This drabble takes place.  -The Multiverse is Destroyed.
CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS, EARTH PRIME:
-Multiverse is Rebooted. *Eobard is back in 25th Century, having never become Reverse-Flash in this timeline. (how does post-crisis season one work, then? Shhh don’t worry about it.) -The moment the Paragons ‘awake’ in Earth-Prime, he gets struck by lightning, (re)gaining his powers and his memories of the Pre-Crisis timeline. -As he is from the future, he recognizes he has all the time in the world, so he spends five decades living with his wife, Rose, until her death by natural causes. -Upon her death, he uses his powers to restore himself to his peak physical condition and runs back to 2020 to take place in the Final Fight against the Anti-Monitor. -Due to his actions in COIE, he is given a Founder status in the newly formed Justice League.
SEASONS SEVEN AND BEYOND:
-He makes himself a new suit, and renames himself Professor Zoom. -Nora Allen is alive in this timeline and is the tether that keeps Barry in the Speed Force, so, at her urging, he kills her again to bring Barry back. -He tends to spend his time operating as the Chief Financier Officer of the League because he knows other heroes aren’t all that fond of him and he’s overall still uncomfortable with the notion of being a Hero™. -He keeps his distance from STAR Labs overall, because even though he is on ‘good terms’ with Barry, there is a lot of nasty history there. -He does help out the League and Team Flash if he is absolutely needed, however.

Anyway here’s some random headcanons for Post Crisis Eobard no one asked for
-He and Barry do not get along. Unless it is to annoy Oliver, then they get along shockingly well. -He and Barry rarely team up. Almost always they team up to dunk on the new evil speedster of the week. (t posing to scare godspeed) -Is almost always seen holding a soda or some other food related item. -His vibe in the League can be best described as ‘Gordon Ramsay if he were American’. -Eobard vc: all of you are fuckin’ donkeys except for Felicity and Iris who have never done anything wrong ever. -He and Nora are in a heated mentor-off against Jay and Bart. -Eobard vc: Enmity with Barry over, Jay Garrick is my new nemesis.

FILE NAME: SFU 0009 NAME: Heart, August. ALIAS: Godspeed II, The ‘True’ God of Speed, God of Speed. PROFESSION: Detective, Vigilante. ABILITIES: Speed Force Conduit. STATUS: ALIVE. PROFESSOR’S NOTES: Initially a partner of Dr. Meena Dhawan on Project: Godspeed, Heart helped track down the conduits of Still, Sage and Strength Forces in Dr. Dhawan’s efforts to understand the aspects of these Forces. While Dr. Dhawan would have second thoughts towards the end of the project, Heart went on to betray Dr. Dhawan and absorb all the Forces in a haphazard attempt to become a Speedster and travel back in time to stop the murder of his brother. Ironically, this haphazard attempt would shatter the Force Barrier, thus rendering time travel impossible until such a time that the Barrier was fixed. After a change of heart, if you do so excuse the pun, the so-called true Godspeed would seemingly sacrifice himself to mend the Barrier.
Heart, however,  would later return during the Paradox Crisis, seemingly retaining only his connection to the Speed Force. I believe he has relocated to Opal City in an attempt to make amends for his past mistakes.      Central City is awfully crowded with Speedsters, after all.

From The Logs of Professor Eobard Thawne, With Information Compiled From The Flash Museum Database.
FILE NAME: S.F.U. 0008 NAME: Dhawan, Meena. ALIAS: Godspeed, Mercury. PROFESSION: Lead Scientist at Mercury Labs, Head of the Tachyon Project, Leader of Black Hole 2.0. ABILITIES: Speed Force Conduit, Tachyonic Energy Absorption.  STATUS: ALIVE. PROFESSOR’S NOTES: Dr. Meena Dhawan has always been on the pursuit of bleeding edge science. Head of the Tachyon Project at Mercury Labs, her scientific interests dramatically shifted the day she witnessed a mysterious Man in the Yellow Suit steal her Tachyonic Prototype. I was going to return it, once I was done with it, promise. But I digress--
A red blur, moving as fast as lightning, how could she resist? Wanting to understand the true nature of this Force that gave the Flash his power, she studied every appearance of the Speedster and others like him. She soon got her opportunity to study one intimately when she managed to procure the corpse of one Eddie Thawne. I suppose I should be-- angered at the desecration of my ancestor’s corpse, but then again we didn’t have the best of familial relationships to begin with.
And so, from the death of Cobalt Blue, Project: Godspeed was born, powered by an artificial and, to be perfectly frank, limited harnessing of the Speed Force. The project was simple in nature, several test subjects injected with this Artificial Speed Force and sent out into the city at various intervals, each equipped with identical suits and a dramatic name to sell the look.
Dr. Dhawan would later be joined in her efforts by one Detective August Heart, initially in charge of investigating the Godspeed case, but then having a-- change of opinion, shall we say. He helped her track down the Conduits for Sage, Strength and Still Forces, with Dr. Dhawan intending to study them-- No matter the cost. But, much to her own surprise, the more she learned about the Forces through the eyes of other Conduits, the more she started to see it in a different light, leading her to question her initial ruthless methodology.
Of course, she would not get the opportunity to change her methodology, as Heart would betray her and kill the Conduits before dubbing himself as the True Godspeed, but that is a different story, for a different time.
As a final note, while there are many ways of entering the Speed Force and becoming a Speedster, hers might be one of the most unique of them all. Because in the end, what is the Speed Force, if not another pillar of the universe? And what is the universe made of, but numbers? Find the right numbers, the right Speed Formula, and one might become as fast as Mercury himself.
Or, well, herself, as history would go on to show.

So, I have rewritten / reworked a lot of stuff from seasons over the years and I know new followers probably don’t know that, so here is a handy dandy breakdown of my canon divergences for each season. (here is a way more in-depth timeline going into everything)
Season One is Perfect, it does not require any reworking.
SEASON THREE / FLASHPOINT-  On The Surface of the Waters Will Dance Reflections of the Fire in the Night.
The biggest change is that the Flashpoint lasts for quite a while longer and is a lot more extensive than what we had in the show.
Eobard is imprisoned for a little over six months, keeping Barry company and trying to be the voice of reason and make Barry revert the changes.
Once the Atlantean - Amazonian War causes the destruction of the United Kingdom, Barry finally lets Eobard out to finish what he started.
Upon killing Nora Allen and entering the Speed Force to take Barry home, Young!Eobard’s memories are merged with that of his season one self, so Eobard Proper is back, which leads to...
LEGENDS OF TOMORROW - Run Boy Run. Running is a Victory.
Fuck this entire season, so we’re reworking it entirely.
Eobard, upon attempting to run back home, is alerted to the existence of Black Flash Racer, who is an extension of the Speed Force that wants to correct the mistake that is Eobard’s paradoxical existence.
He starts running away to find a solution to his problem, during which he discovers that there is another Eobard Thawne operating with a group called Legion of Doom.
But surprise! Eobard part of the Legion of Doom is in fact Hunter Zolomon, before his season two story arc in the Flash, masquerading as Eobard so his own identity is still kept a secret.
Real Eobard teams up with the Legends so the Legion of Doom doesn’t get his hands on the Spear of Destiny.
Most of that season can happen as normal just know that ‘Eobard’ in that season is not actually Eobard
In the end, Eobard chucks Zoom back to Earth-Two but then immediately gets killed by Black Racer because time is an ironic bitch.
IN-BETWEEN SEASONS / SEASON FIVE - From the Dawn of Time to the End of Days I Will Have To Run Away.
Eobard is dead and back in the Speed Force and very desperate to go back home.
He makes a deal with the Speed Force that makes him a pure conduit of the Negative Speed Force, effectively tethering his existence to Speed Force.
He is now a living paradox and fully connected to the Negative Speed Force, rendering him immune to timeline changes.
The moment he is out, he attempts to run back home, but Speed Force blocks him from doing so, for he needs a reason to run and keep the Speed Force healthy.
CRISIS ON EARTH X DOES NOT HAPPEN, instead Eobard recruits the EARTH-THREE CRIME SYNDICATE to ruin Barry’s wedding, bitter about his new situation and his inability to run back home.
While doing so, he is starting to realize that he no longer harbors the same intense rage and hate towards Barry.
Upon Crime Syndicate’s defeat, Eobard escapes and is imprisoned in 2030 for Reasons(tm)
Listen the show never explained it why the fuck should I.
Season five is trash but I genuinely enjoy the Eobard subplot so it stays, with some small differences.
Eobard’s training of Nora takes place over a period of TWO YEARS, instead of the laughably small amount of time shown in the show.
He genuinely grew fond of Nora and wanted her to survive by using the Negative Speed Force, so he is sad to see her get wiped from existence.
Upon running away at the end of Season Five, he is stopped by Mar-Novu, who recruits him for...
CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS - Torn to the Flesh as the Fire Bleeds the Echoes of History.
The actual event was a god damn mess so we’re reworking it entirely.
Eobard is The Harbinger, tasked with running between all the Earths and recruiting others. He works with Oliver Queen during this time.
Over the course of Crisis, he comes to terms with the fact that he no longer hates Barry like he once did, so he buries the hatchet with him and finally lets go of his vendetta.
Helps destroy the Anti-Matter canon in Episode 3 of the event, but since he is made out of Negative Energy, instead of dying he finally gets catapulted home.
He sorts out some of his own Personal Stuff while he’s there. (aka this drabble of mine that I adore)
POST CRISIS - Most of My Sweet Memories Were Buried in the Sand. The Fire and the Pain Will Now Be Coming to an End.
First of all, season six Eobard is garbage, throw that in the trash.
Multiverse is rebooted, Eobard is back in 25th Century, having never become Reverse-Flash in this timeline. (how does post-crisis season one work, then? Shhh don’t worry about it.)
The moment the Paragons ‘awake’ in Earth-Prime, he gets struck by lightning, (re)gaining his powers and his memories of the Pre-Crisis timeline.
He’s still a living paradox and tethered to the Speed Force because I do what I want.
He runs back to 2020 to take place in the Final Fight against the Anti-Monitor.
He makes himself a new suit because New Earth, New Me, also renaming himself Professor Zoom.
Due to his actions in COIE, he is given a Founder status in the newly formed Justice League.
Nora Allen is alive in this timeline and is the tether that keeps Barry in the Speed Force, so, at her urging, he kills her again to bring Barry back.
He tends to spend his time operating as the Chief Financier Officer of the League because he knows other heroes aren’t all that fond of him and he’s overall still uncomfortable with the notion of being a Hero(tm).

FILE NAME: Rogue 0010. NAME: Ross, Virgil. ALIAS: Paradox. PROFESSION: Accountant (formerly). ABILITIES: Cosmic Awareness, Dimensional Energy Manipulation, Temporal Energy Absorption, Reality Manipulation. STATUS: DECEASED. PROFESSOR’S NOTES: It is all too easy for us speedsters to think of ourselves as gods among men. Many have fallen into that fallacy, many had to learn it the hard way. With our capabilities, I suppose I could hardly blame them. But we are not gods, we are beholden to universal laws same as any other living being. And as such, all our actions had to have an eventual reaction. Simple cause and effect, push and pull.
So, enter Virgil Ross. A simple family man, accountant, good at his job, never aspired for anything grand. But after the Particle Accelerator exploded, Virgil started noticing something peculiar. Things happening one way one day, another the next. A tsunami threatens Central City only to dissipate into nothing, red clouds loom over the sky only to disappear. History changing, in the blink of an eye. Things changed, but not for him, never for him. He lost his wife, he lost his kids, and despite all the alterations to the timeline, they remained lost. He never understood why, he never understood how.
Until the day he watched August Heart run into the Speed Force in his attempt to fix the Force Barrier.
What made them better, he thought to himself, if the Flashes had the ability to change time on a whim, why couldn’t he? If the Flashes had the ability to reverse death, why didn’t he?
No action is without consequence. The act of changing time, it leaves a wound in reality. It may mend in time, yes, but the scar tissue remains. The scar tissue of all our travels across space and time, localized in one spot where timelines had converged the most.
Where else would it be located?
Like a scab that bleeds when scratched, he tore open the scar tissue of the universe, all the energies of the cosmos bleeding into him, changing him, morphing him, becoming paradox given form, able to shift and change reality at the move at a finger, and finally giving him the ability to break the wheel of time to save everyone.
     Well, almost.
Reality does not like to be toyed with. While his motives were...admirable, his powers were-- unstable. He nearly shattered the time stream, nearly unraveled the fabric of reality. Nearly, were it not for the efforts of-- Well, all of us. The Rogues, the Heroes, the Flash Family. Foes and allies alike, all uniting for this one time.
If this was to be the end of our story, we had to make it a good one, after all.

FILE NAME: Speed Force User ( S.F.U.) 0007 NAME: Unavailable. ALIAS: Savit’r, Savitar, Devansh Rajan. PROFESSION: N/A. (Suspected Position as Professor of History, More Research Required.) ABILITIES: Speed Force Conduit ( Refer to S.F.U. 0001 for Details ), Specialization in Construct Creation. STATUS: Presumed Alive. PROFESSOR’S NOTES: Even for someone well versed in the threads of history like myself, there are a few mysteries that persist no matter how hard one tries to unravel them. Savit’r is one of them. If not the, then most certainly one of the very first recorded speedsters in history, Savit’r is more fiction than fact. There are a few concrete truths: That he was the creator of the Philosopher’s Stone, less an alchemist’s dream and more a concentrated ingot of pure Speed Force energy, and that he was somehow trapped inside the Speed Force for centuries, his Stone being his one way out to freedom. Freedom that he finally achieved once the Stone was thrown back to the place it had originated from, thanks to an unwitting participant in a certain Barry Allen. That’s the Flash for you, solving one problem while creating new ones. Regardless, more research about this individual would be beneficial in further study and understanding of the Speed Force, must look into locating him once I have more time.

POWERS AND ABILITIES - PART ONE because jesus christ this is so long
-Speed Force Conduit: For the most part, Eobard has access to the same array of powers and abilities as all other speedsters. However, as a result of his unique connection to the Speed Force, he has access to the oft-misunderstood Negative side of it as well and powers connected to it.           -Negative Speed Force: A part of the Speed Force proper instead of a wholly separate entity, Negative Speed Force is the ying to Speed Force’s yang. As The Flash generates positive charge with each step he takes, Negative Speed Force is where, as the name suggests, negative charges go to be stored. Speed Force storms are a result of the negative charge overwhelming the Speed Force, so Negative Speed Force users help alleviate the pressure by expunging negative charge with each step they take. A speedster should be careful interacting with the Negative Force, however. If a Speedster is simultaneously connected to the Positive and Negative harnessing of the Speed Force, they may experience emotional instability and loss of control. Only by fully connecting with the Negative Speed Force can a Speedster behave as normal. So far, Eobard Thawne is the sole pure conduit of the Negative Speed Force, having merged with it fully following his erasure from existence in 2014 (season one). Some extra details about his connection to the Negative Speed Force HERE. -Superhuman Speed: The defining power of all speedsters, Eobard is one of the fastest people alive. Prior to his pure connection to the Negative Speed Force, he was slower than the Flash of 2024, using tachyonic enhancements to boost his speed. After his death and return via the Speed Force, his speed is identical to Barry’s. (Negative Speed Force is only as strong as the Positive Speed Force.)           -Dimensional Travel: Using his incredible speed, Eobard can break the barriers between worlds and travel between alternate realities.           - Aerokinesis: Using his speed, Eobard can generate air flow as vacuums on various levels. He can create fierce waves and vacuums of air by shaking a body part very fast.           -Speed Mirage Construct: By using his speed to bounce back and forth so quickly, Eobard can create after-images with his speed, making it appear like he's in two places at once. This image is so realistic, human mind can't perceive the difference. Eobard can also create mirror speed projections while retaining his peak speed. -Superhuman Durability and Stamina: Speed Force Aura allows him to endure much more than a regular human and for him to run longer without feeling the effects of exhaustion. -Superhuman Agility: Eobard possesses inhuman bodily coordination, balance, equilibrium and dexterity. He is able to change direction immediately, thus allowing him to make sharp turns on city streets without sliding or losing his balance. -Superhuman Strength: Due to the tremendous amounts of Speed Force energy in his body, Eobard displays a degree of superhuman strength, exerting inhuman amounts of force without using his speed. -Superhuman Mental Process and Accelerated Perception:  Eobard's increased speed also augments his reaction time, allowing him to react to danger and events far faster than a normal human. This also enhances his senses in general, allowing him to take in information and process it at much faster rates than a normal human, as well as see and hear clearly when moving at super-speed. -Accelerated Healing: Eobard, as all speedsters, heals much faster than normal humans. Broken bones and other wounds can heal in a matter of hours. See HERE for how his paralysis in the aftermath of the Accelerator Explosion affected his healing capabilities.  -Molecular Acceleration: Eobard can vibrate any part of his body at different frequencies on command, with varying effects. Most frequently, he vibrates his entire body to keep his identity a secret, making himself look like a blur and distorting his voice to a low growl. He can also vibrate his cells to become intangible and phase through people and objects without harming them, though he can also use this ability to phase his hand into someone’s chest and crush their heart. As you do. This ability also gives him a degree of Cosmic Awareness, allowing him to sense vibrational frequencies and discern if a person is from an alternate Earth and which Earth he is on. -Electrokinesis: Like all conduits of the Speed Force, Eobard generates large amounts of electrical energy from his body. The lightning emanates off of him as red electrical arcs from all around his body and it can interfere with, and fry, electronics. From a stationary position, Eobard can generate a continuous stream of lighting to launch at a target.  As a byproduct of his electrokinesis, he can also make his eyes glow a deep crimson red, which he makes frequent use of for intimidation and cool factor. -Time Travel: Like most experienced speedsters, Eobard can tap into the Speed Force to travel forwards and backwards in time. What sets him apart is the sheer precision and refinement in which he exercises this ability. Unlike all other users of the Speed Force, he can alter the timeline with little to no adverse effects, stemming partially from his Negative connection and his overall knowledge of history and the flow of time.            -Retrocognition: By tapping into the Negative Speed Force, Eobard is able to retain information from previous timelines. This ability is further enhanced by Eobard’s discovery of the Time Language, which are a series of symbols that can be used to talk to another individual while they are in another time period or to record events regardless of the changes in the timeline; in which the language is able to survive the multiples changes to the timeline.  -Immortality: A result of the combined effects of his status as a living paradox and the main conduit of the Negative Speed Force, Eobard is functionally immortal.  He is immune to alterations to his personal history which makes him the sole constant in any possible timeline and thus impossible to erase him from existence.

From The Logs of Professor Eobard Thawne, With Information Compiled From The Flash Museum Database.
FILE NAME: Speed Force User (S.F.U.) 0005 NAME: Hunter Zolomon. ALIAS: Zoom, Jay Garrick, The Flash, Eobard Thawne, Reverse-Flash. PROFESSION: Career Criminal. ABILITIES: Speed Force Conduit (see S.F.U. 0001 for Full List), Speed Force Sense, Death Inducement. STATUS: Undead / Kept Alive by the Speed Force. PROFESSOR’S NOTES: Of all the Speedsters, there is only one who has been as destructive and as selfish as Hunter Zolomon. Originally from Earth-Two, Zoom has made countless trips to our Earth in pursuit of power, and later, more Speed Force Energy. Besides the history books, I first met him when he was-- Well, me. Have to admit, he knows the art of subterfuge almost as good as I. He and his-- Legion of Doom, attempted to find and use Spear of Destiny to rewrite reality to their own ends. Needless to say, they failed, with the aided efforts of yours truly. Later, he would decide to play the hero, masquerading as Jay Garrick, whom he had found and imprisoned, heroically fighting the villainous Zoom. A perfect one-man act. Ah-- Time Remnants. Clever trick: Doesn’t take away from your speed like a Speed Mirage while maintaining fully autonomous copies. But it is extremely dangerous. A speedster always risks the ire of the Time Wraiths with each jump through time. To create Remnants, to create as many as he had... It is no wonder the Speed Force got angry enough to do what They did.  We Speedsters...There is an unspoken agreement between us and the Speed Force. We run, we soar, we do whatever we want--- as long as we respect Their gifts. For Them to take autonomy away from someone like that, to make it bound to Their will and Their will alone, forever. The ferryman of Speedster’s souls like Charon from tales of old. It is ironic, he wanted to be the fastest of us all and now... Well, who among us can outrun Death?
