i feel like a lot of people don’t realize that when you have someone fuck you over in a very public and traumatic and long way, it impacts you so deeply that it becomes a part of you. every single time you encounter a new hardship, that trauma reappears and you’re forced to relive that experience on top of whatever hell you’re actually going through. it gets better over time but it never just goes away. it rewrites core aspects of your personality and worldview. you can’t just get over it because it is literally intertwined into your cells; removing that experience would kill you bc from now on there is no you without it. and people do get sick of hearing over and over how much it still impacts you and that just makes you feel crazy too bc you know you should be over it but it ruined your life and it killed you. you don’t get to be who you were supposed to be and you have to live instead as this person that you sometimes hate and despise but it’s all you have so how the fuck are you not supposed to remember it all the time. it’s unfair to ask someone to not discuss a personal trauma that they’re still reliving just bc you think it’s old news and you moved on before the issue even concluded.

anyway i don’t think thanK you aIMee is actually about kim, but i also think if taylor releases a thirty track album in ten years about how much she still hates everyone who fucked her over during that period that it would not only be justified but also a totally normal reaction to what she’s been through
