Come to think of it, Sanji's line here (although the translation isn't very accurate) must have been a foreshadowing of his upcoming prowess as Stealth Black. Sanji couldn't have thought of his relationship with the Germa when he said that line, but what matters more than the weapon he chose to rely on is the strong confidence he's always had in his own ability to wreak havoc on the enemy.

colorpsychology(.)org/black/ reading the traits seems a good portrayal to sanji.
I checked it out and the color black does seem to portray Sanji well. He used to have a mysterious past and is powerful and elegant at the same time. The word “evil” on the other hand doesn’t seem to match Sanji’s personality on the surface but when you think about it, he does mention the word “devil” a lot, and one of his most powerful attacks are “diable jambe”. So I guess that also deepens his associations with the color black.

Ok so Sanji will probably have black hair if he was successfully modified. But interesting is how black is associated with Sanji. He is the black sheep of his family, if you mix certain colors, it will turn black, black is also associated with learning from zeff. It's like black is always connected for himself from his mentor from his ex family, like it's mix association with all of those
Good point! I knew black was associated with Sanji’s learning from Zeff as his nickname is Blackleg, but I never thought that it could have another meaning as well in that he used to be the black sheep of his family. Tbh I think Oda made Sanji’s ranger color black not just because he wanted to associate it with his nickname, but also because he wanted to troll readers who mostly thought his color would turn out to be yellow lol. But whatever his intention was, the implications are interesting!

I really think that Sanji only came to like women when he was in Baratie, like Patty, Carne and the other chefs teaching him about women, cause when he was still in Germa there aren't really any women around aside from his mom, reiju and epony, i doubt he was able to associate with the female chefs since he does cooking secretly and only the male head chef was there. So him wanting the suke suke as a child can't possibly be because he wants to peak, so as a child he really does want to disapper
The severe macho atmosphere of the Baratie certainly did play a big role in shaping Sanji into the person he is today, but in the Baratie arc I don’t think we’ve seen any fellow chef aboard that was more interested in women than he was. My point is that although the chefs could have influenced Sanji, there could also be some genetic factors that drive his flirty perverted behavior to this day, as much as he would hate to admit it. After all, the Vinsmoke brothers did all turn into heart eyes when they saw Nami, and it’s not a stretch to assume that all four of the quadruplets have the same reaction toward women.
As for your theory about Sanji’s desire to eat the suke suke no mi, I think you’re right. Little Sanji wanted to eat the fruit just for the purpose of escaping his family’s abuse, but as he grew up he started to want the fruit for some other purpose which I really don’t approve of…🤦

Ouch. You linking disappear with Sanji in a good and bad way, good since he wants to disappear if he hurts his nakama, if he wants to help them, bad because he is wished to be gone, not be seen or associated with.... On a side note, i think that invisibility will play a major role, because black beard had took it from absolom and gave it to shiliew, and I'm glad that sanji didn't need the devil fruit i wouldn't like him to be a hammer. But hmmm how good is the raid suit in ocean?
Yeah I also think that Sanji’s ability to sabotage the enemy behind the scenes would be given extra focus now that he can actually become invisible. It’s a bit of a shame though because he’s smart enough to not make himself seen or heard even without the help of the raid suit, but that aspect of him might not be noticed from now on. And yeah Sanji relying on the suit is much better than him having to eat the devil fruit and abandon his superb swimming skills. Maybe the suit’s power would decrease a little underwater, but I doubt that it would turn him into a hammer.

I'm honestly confused about the raid suits and the sora warrior of the sea comics, law said that he read about raid suits because it was in the comics, but wasn't the suits made for the five*(4 vinsmoke kids+sanji) kids? so did judge made the suit for his kids+sanji based on the comics? but doesn't the raid suits suit te abilities of the vinsmokes sibs and sanji,? Except yonji i think
I think it’s yet to be revealed if Judge modified his children’s genes and designed their raid suits based on the comic strip or if it’s the other way around. But I guess the former is more likely, since Sanji was meant to transform into Stealth Black even when he had been absent from the Germa Kingdom for a long time. And I think Yonji’s ability probably also matches Winch Green’s ability from the comic strip, even if he didn’t appear directly in the panel that showed Sora and Germa fighting. Stealth Black didn’t appear in that panel as well but Law clearly stated that he’s one of the Germa.

I bet that when they get new wanted posters it will be osoba mask as the name with sanji's picture, osoba mask as name with the sanji in raid suit picture, which will definitely upset sanji, especially if it is lower than zoro's now. I hope sanji goes to ebisu town and meet up with zoro if zoro doesn't move his dumb lost ass hahaha
Sanji might not get upset with Soba Mask’s wanted poster if part of his intention was to create a new identity that would divert attention from the Straw Hats (based on the assumption that Soba Mask wouldn’t be counted as one of them), but he’s definitely going to be pissed if Soba Mask’s bounty is lower than Zoro’s😂 Sanji himself might not go to Ebisu Town but since Law Franky and Usopp are headed that way, Zoro might hear about Sanji’s transformation from them.

Im interested in Sanji wearing the raid suit for now its Germas tech for him but what if Franky & Usopp modifies it then? Maybe he'll see it differently or maybe it will still be seen as Germas And I know people don't like Sanjis pervertedness, *i like it though* but him saying to peep then taking it back & say it's for his nakama, has been constant like he always takes back his words when they plan crashing the wedding he said nakama then took it back & say nami he dont say what he really feel
If Franky and Usopp modify the raid suit, Sanji might truly become Soba Mask /cough/ and leave the name Stealth Black firmly behind, thereby separating himself from the Germa. Franky and Usopp might also insist on discarding the name Soba Mask and creating a new name but I have a feeling that Sanji’s going to stick with Soba Mask lmao
As for Sanji’s pervertedness, I think he sometimes uses it to hide how much he cares about his nakama because he’s such a big tsun but that doesn’t make him any less perverted

i was high-key hoping sanji'd get his mom's suit bc that would be cute. i wonder if they're going to do a sogeking 2.0 thing with sanji where he never explicitly states stealth black is himself and that results in some members thinking they're two different people lol
Yeah it’d have been interesting if Sanji inherited his mom’s name but I guess Stealth Black (aka Soba Mask) isn’t so bad. Btw, I don’t think it’s been confirmed that Sanji’s mom Sora is the Sora from the comic strip? I guess the possibility is high but we don’t know for certain yet.
I think that’s what Sanji had in mind when he decided to wear the raid suit. That way he could protect the people of Wano without drawing further attention to the Straw Hats and ruining Law’s plan.

So, if Sanji was supposed to be Stealth Black then does that mean his hair color should've been black if Sora hadn't intervened with Judge's plan? Imagine a black-haired Sanji... But the name "Black" doesn't match his hair color but his nickname "Blackleg" instead - a new identity he created for himself that is irrelevant to his family.

I love how Sanji didn't gain the ability to disappear out of the blue. When you think about it, "disappear" has always been an important keyword that well-describes Sanji's character.
Tumblr media
As we all know... One of Sanji's biggest dreams was to become an invisible man and disappear so that he could peep on women, but that's not all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Disappearing was also a method he frequently relied on or wanted to rely on to protect his nakama. He always disappeared to carry out secret missions and sabotaged the enemy behind the scenes. He hoped to disappear from the people he cared about when he thought he couldn't escape the Vinsmokes.
Tumblr media
The word "disappear" may also be a trauma to Sanji, since all his father wanted from him was to disappear from his sight so that he could forget about his existence. Now he can disappear of his own free will and capitalize on it, but he was once forced to do it by none other than his own parent.
To sum up, disappearing was Sanji's dream, one of his tactics to protect his nakama, and also a part of his terrible childhood trauma. Who deserves the name "Stealth Black" more than he does? Let's see if his new ability adds another interesting facet to his character.

its fitting sanjis raid suits power is invisibility since judge just wanted sanji to disappear
I used to think so as well, but what if Sanji’s suit was just meant to resemble one of the rangers from the Germa comic strip from the get-go? If I’m not wrong we don’t know exactly when that comic strip began to be published, so what if the character Stealth Black existed even before Sanji was born or before Judge started to deem him as a weakling? Still, I guess the fact that Sanji was an eyesore to Judge is too fitting to be a mere coincidence…
Btw I got this idea while reading a well-written post from @pernanegra . You can check it out here

How do you feel about people who think raid suit Sanji was a cheap power up?
Well to be honest I can’t deny that I kinda hoped Sanji would find a better way to power up than relying on the goofy Germa raid suit, but I won’t go so far as to call his power up “cheap”. I think there were certain points Oda wanted to prove by making Sanji wear the suit, which are as follows:
The value of science depends on how you choose to use it. Even if a certain technology was created for the purpose of mass destruction and massacre, it can still be used for something good if it’s put in the right hands.
There are things that are more important than pride, such as the courage to stand up for the innocent and the love for your friends. To uphold such values, Sanji chose to endure wearing a costume that goes exactly against his fashion style and even reminds him of his horrible family.
Power up shouldn’t always be a result of harsh training. Sometimes you have to use everything at hand to defeat the enemy. Just because you played smart doesn’t mean you cheated.

them: Sanji’s raid suit is fulfilling his dream!
me, an intellectual: Judge designed Sanji a suit to make him invisible. He didn’t trust in any physical ability of his son to make a suit like the others.
