“Sorry.” She pauses and rests her cheek on his arm. “I had a very terrible dream.”

He doesn’t answer, but instead moves, lifting the arm that she clings to so that he can wrap it around her. She adjusts too, her head now resting on his chest. She can hear his beating heart and feel his warm skin and smell the faint scent of lavender.

“Do you want to talk about it?”

“I’m still deciding.” Her head feels heavy, like her mind is still swimming in the dream. She clings to him a little tighter, trying to pull herself awake. His fingers gently card through her hair and she sighs, sinking closer to him. And then, in a small whisper she adds, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have woken you up.”

“On the contrary,” says Gale, “I’d feel quite guilty if I found out tomorrow that you had a terrible dream and did not stir me from my slumber.” He keeps his voice light, continuing to stroke her hair. Sometimes his fingers catch in the tumbles of curls, but he doesn’t seem to mind. Instead, he patiently twists his fingers in and out of her hair, not ever tugging too much.]

the Columbia University arrests are worse than they seem. They're arresting protesting students for trespassing. It goes without saying students cannot meaningfully "trespass" in the common areas of a university they attend. So Columbia University has suspended all student protestors from their institution, in the process revoking their access to housing, their belonging, and most crucially damaging their academic futures. We are witnessing full scale silencing and removal of anyone of conscience from the next generation of academia.

Maybe this is the wrong platform to pose this question given the average tumblr user but

Is it just me or did our generation (those of is who are currently 20-30 ish) just not get the opportunity to be young in the 'standard' sense?

Like, everyone I talk to who's over 40 has all their wild stories about their teens and 20s, being young and dumb, and then I talk to my friends and coworkers and classmates, and we just... dont.

1. Chipotle order?

Fun fact, I have never been to Chipotle 😅 it was just never on my radar as a kid and now I've moved to a place that doesn't really have one nearby. Maybe one day lol

7. What animal do you look forward to seeing when you visit an aquarium?

All of them

Gahh why must I choose!! The aquarium I've been most often would be the amazing Dallas World Aquarium, which was the closest aquarium to where I used to live, and that almost feels like cheating bc it's so spoiled for choice when it comes to animals that it might as well also be a zoo. Really, I did love all of them, but if I had to narrow it down, I'd actually say the exotic bird exhibits they have next to the entrance line. They were so beautiful, and fun, and had so much personality, and they were FREE! You didn't even have to pay for your ticket yet, you could go the whole length of the line and experience these amazing birds, and then just leave before you entered the aquarium proper. Again, I love literally every single animal in the aquarium and I miss it soooo much, but I I had to choose it'd be my bird buddies <3

23. Do you wear jewelry?

Sometimes, when I put effort into my outfit for the day! It's usually just some earrings, with maybe a necklace to go with them. I've been told I have a tendency to look like an adolescent when I just go out in a t-shirt and jeans, and I've found jewelry is a nice alternative to help me look my age when I struggle with make up T-T
