Somebody's got to be optimistic, but ur most likely right. Its just like one of my fave websites so i really dont want it to stop.

So because I was so upset about AfterEllen leaving, I went to check it out. What I got from the website itself was that it was not leaving, but due to insufficient funds they had to drop their chief editor. But the website and all of its documents and forums are still accessible and they will be continuing to follow important LGBT+  happenings. Now I hope this is true, but being it came from the website itself, im thinking it is. AfterEllen is not leaving.

The Flu: Sardilite(Highschool AU)

This was an ask. I think im getting back into this. My only excuses are school and a massive writer’s block. 

And No warnings.

“SARDIE! COME ON!”

Sugilite banged her heavy fist on the white pristine front door of her girlfriend’s house. It was 8:55 in the morning, already 10 minutes past the time they should have left at, which was most definitely going to make them late for school...again. The sun had already risen but it didn’t do much to warm the dry chilly air.  

“SARDONYX ABIGAIL JACKSON, GET UP! I AM NOT GETTING MORE DETENTION FROM MRS. DESMOND BECAUSE YOU CAN’T WAKE UP!”

The thick girl glared and raged at the silent door in front of her. Getting no response, she kicked it, her thick dark purple highlighted hair whipping around her in the chilly autumn wind. She really needs a key if she’s going to have to do this everyday. Pulling her ripped leather jacket tighter around her body, she regretted her choice of clothing: a dark byzantium tank and black leather tights with boots, thinking she would have been closer to school by now. “Ugh, this is getting me nowhere. IM GOING SARDONYX! BYE!” Just as she turned to leave the door opened with a small squeak. Sugilite bared her teeth, ready to chastise the heavy sleeper she had for a girlfriend when she took in her appearance. Sardonyx’s usual smile was replaced with a tight grimace, her pristine blond hair was in disarray, and her neat fashion style was traded in for what looked like a giant zebra printed onesie. Her tall frame hunched over, her rich chocolate skin was pale, her eyes red, and her nose was running. Mouth still agape, Sugilite quickly stepped into the warm house and shut the door. “Holy Shit. Sardie, you look um…”

“Terrible, I know.” Sugilite cringed at the stuffiness of Sardonyx’s normally beautiful voice. The tall girl moved to walked up the stairs of her home, leaving her purple haired girlfriend to follow on her own accord.

“W-what’s wrong? A-are you ok?”

“I have the flu, Sugi and no, i'm not ok, I've been soo much better.” The two reached Sardonyx’s bedroom and the blond girl flopped down heavily on her plush bed, thankful to be laying down and looked up at Sugilite. “Shouldn’t you be heading to school?”

“What? No, I can’t leave you like this.”

“No it’s fine. Im fine. Go.”

“No, you aren’t fine.” Sugilite rested her hands on her wide hips, a tale-tell sign of her unbeatable stubbornness.

“Im not leaving you by yourself, Sardonyx.”

The sick girl rolled her hazel eyes, but couldn’t hold back the small smile that crept along her face. “Fine...and thank you.”

The bed dipped down as Sugilite sat down, placing Sardonyx’s incredibly long legs in her lap, before moving to take her hand. “Don’t thank me. You know I’ll always take care of my girl.”

The hand Sugilite held squeezed back. “I know. Hey, Sugi?”

“Yeah.”

“I think Im going to take a nap now. Will you...lay with me?”

“ Of course I will, babe.”

Sugilite stood up to help Sardonyx under the blankets before sliding in with her. She draped her one toned arm over Sardonyx, who was already nodding off to sleep. “Hey, Sar.”

“Yeah.”

“You know Mrs. Desmond is going to give us hell tomorrow, right?”

“She can go fuck herself.”

Sugilite took in a dramatic breath. “Sardonyx Abigail Jackson, I cannot believe you!”

The blond girl grabbed her girlfriend hands and intertwined their fingers. “Oh hush up and hold me.”

“Heh, anything for you, baby.”

Two days later.

“Oh Sugilite, you in there?”, Sardonyx sang. Nothing but silence answered her. “Sugilite! We are going to be late!” Oh my, what could be taking her so long?  With a huff, Sardonyx reached under the welcome mat below her feet and retrieved the key. She let herself into the house and immediately walked to the end of the narrow hallway, stopping in front of her girlfriend’s room. She hesitantly knocked and was answered with a muffled “come in”. Her slender hand turned the gold door knob and intered the room to find a bundled mass lying buried under the covers and stifled a giggle. “Sugilite, are you ok?”  

The bundle shifted and thick wild black hair sprouted from the blanket.  “Nooo.”

“Aww, Is my Sugi whining? Tell mama what’s the matter?”

Sugilite stared at her girlfriend, whose hands were on her knees and lips pouted out. “Don’t tease me Sardie.”

The tall dark girl held up her hands. “Ok ok. But seriously, what’s wrong?”

“Im sick...with flu”  

“It’s from me, isn’t it?”

“...yeah I think so.”

Sardonyx sighed and took off her backpack and coat. “Well, I guess Im skipping school today.”

“You’re really going to stay with me?” asked Sugilite.

The blond smiled. “Of course I will. You know one time a great girl told me she would always take care of me so I am just here to return the favor.”

Sugilite’s creole eyes bore into hazel ones. “Thank you, Sardie.”

“Im just taking care of my girl, remember?...Sooo is there anything you need?”

Sardonyx watched Sugilite cock her head in thought. “Actually I am a bit hungry.”

“As you wish, my dear. One chicken noodle soup coming up.” And the girl left the room to rummage in the kitchen and came back twenty minutes later with a steaming bowl of soup. “Bon Appetit.” With the soup gone, Sugilite felt much better.

“Sardonyx?”

“Yes, dear?”

“Umm...Lay next to me...Please?”

“As you wish.”

The blond quickly got into the bed and snuggled up against Sugilite. “Hey, Sardie?”

“Yes?”

“I love you…”

Sardonyx smiled and closed her eyes. “I love you too, Sugilite.”

The two drifted off into a peaceful slumber, happy to be in each other’s arms.

Pearlapis Drabble

This ones a quickie

Lapis watched Pearl tinker with...whatever project she was building now and it wasn't very interesting. “Pearrll!” Lapis whined.

“Just a moment…”

The blue gem huffed and crossed her arms. It was almost hour ago that Lapis begged the pastel gem to stop what she was working on so that the two of them could spend time together. “Pearl, You’ve been working on that for three days straight. I miss you…”

Lapis’s blue eyes lit up when the insistent clacking noise of Pearl’s working stopped and the gem turned in her rolling chair. “Fine, Lapis Lazuli. What would you like to do?”  

Lapis slid from the bed, standing on her bare feet and held out one petite hand. “Dance with me…”

Pearl scoffed. “That’s all. Don’t you want to do som-Ah!” Before she could finish her sentence, she was pulled against Lapis’s thin body. The pale gem looked down to see Lapis staring at her and gulped.

“Pearl, stop. By now, you should know that anytime spent with you is heaven. Don’t you see how much I love being with you.”

A light blush crept its way across Pearl’s white cheeks. “I do…” And then they were off. Pearl led Lapis around the room in circles. Her blue skirt billowed around her calves as the Pearl twirled and dipped her. Pearl had gotten so lost in what she was feeling, she neglected to notice the glow from their gems and the light that filled the room. In a panic, she stumbled backwards and fell onto her back.  “Oof!”

“Pearl...are you...ok?” Pearl glanced up at Lapis from where she had fallen on the floor before picking herself up. “Lapis, I'm sorry. I just...I know what you wanted...I just...” Ashamed, The dancer cast her eyes down to the temple floor.

“Oh Pearl, it’s ok. I should have I asked first and made sure you were ready. I know it’s hard...ever since Rose...Hmm...I know how to get you smiling.”

“Does it involve dancing?”

“No, it doesnt.”

“Alright.”

“It involves…” Lapis quickly tackled Pearl back to the floor and ghosted her fingers over the gem’s sides. The pale gem suppressed a snort threatening to escape. “...TICKLING!!” Lapis’s fingers dug into Pearl without any mercy and was rewarded with undignified laughed from her prey.

“No...I...Cant…” Pearl said between laughs, but Lapis continued her onslaught, relishing in the way her partner snorted like a piglet between her giggles. The pastel gem attempted to throw Lapis off by thrashing her body, but only when Lapis spotted tears in Pearl’s baby eyes did she cease her tickling. Pearl’s breathy giggles subsided and she lay on her side with smile plastered on her face. The blue gem crawled over her and placed a chaste kiss on her brow.

“I got you smiling.” Said Lapis.

“Oh hush and come here”

Pearl pulled Lapis towards her and kissed the blue gem’s soft lips before pulling her into a hug. Lapis pulled back with a mischievous smile. “Your snorts are adorable.”

“Why you…!” With that Pearl stood up and exited the room, huffing and puffing as she went with a giggling Lapis right on her heels.

“Aww Pearl, I was just kidding! Come back!”
