My name is Vika (Victoria), I’m an IB DP student at an international school.

I have always been an academic weapon, but 3 years ago I stopped developing and learning (don't ask why). Now I'm trying to get back on track<3

day eight, nine + ten first week back >.<

hi!

i am so tired as i am writing this haha. i've had one special week back to school that's for sure. let me recap for you; monday: economics test wednesday: english presentation, swedish test thursday: english test, biology test friday: 3-week project hand-in day ~.~ and out of all of these i was only told about the econ and bio test before the day-of so it has been one hell of a week that's for sure!! luckily volunteering hasn't started up yet (starts next week woo!!) so i got thursday afternoon+evening to just relax.

other than that i have been studying 2-3 hours a day + doing my homework!! so i think i am still very much well on track :p

i plan on posting a "how i stay on track with cas, school, and hobbies as an ib dp1 student" post at the end of the month! as i can share my monthly schedule then as well :p

anyway, i don't have school on monday so i have taken today to do some random things like going to the hairdresser, studying thai for a few hours, and taking a 2 hour nap.

10/100 days of productivity 🌺

We got our maths test back today!! I was rly worried but it actually ended up going rly well, I got 98% !!!! I made like, one mistake (because I didn’t pay attention to what the qs was asking lol) but I’m actually rly proud of myself :)) 

We also had parents evening, which was ok, most of my teachers were rly nice but a lot of the stuff they said was rly basic (but tbf to them I am a new student so its not like there’s loads to say) 

Today I:

Caught up on the stuff I missed in physics and economics when I was away (consumption and optic fibres) 

Did my economics hw on consumption 

Did some maths revision (of literally like,, basic algebra but I tried not use my calculator for more of a challenge and its always good to go back to basics anyways) 

Did my physics hw on impulse (impulse like change in momentum, not like 'on impulse' like the phrase)

Double digits! Woo!!

So with yesterday's plan for today didn't work because I forgot I had online work xp today (+ I thought it would be great to have it in notion 🗒 despite never having touched it before and it still even now annoyed me so.... I've got a plan ready for tomorrow tho!)

Today was mildly productive. I didn't really study but I finished my homework and made notes for physics and I even exercised. I'll read 📖 some more tonight then wake up early tomorrow to study.

hi!

i was way too tired by the time i got home yesterday to post so i thought i would just post for both days today!! yesterday, and today, i have pretty much only studied biology for my test tomorrow non-stop. taking breaks only to work on the english assignment that is due friday and my EE-proposal. today i had a swedish test (paper 1 writing), and i apparently also had an english presentation?? i was totally unaware but since my group and i had finished the entire project before the winter break it was just to present it.. i had totally forgotten we had that assignment though :p

i took a quick little break and ran by a bookstore to purchase a book as a late christmas gift to a friend! who very kindly gave me some super duper cute stationary <3 i'm on my way to bed at the moment because i am extremely tired and i have to wake up extra extra early tomorrow (4am), to make sure i don't have to stress and get anxious because of that. plus, i'm really really tired anyway so it's what it is C:

07/100 days of productivity

Today was a really chill day (except for the part where i nearly missed my bus but we don’t have to talk abt that)  - we didn’t do anything super confusing/new in skl and it started snowing!!!!! Which is amazing for where i am in the uk and even tho the snow didn’t settle there was quite a lot of snowfall and it might (hopefully) settle later on in the week as it gets colder ❄️

Today I:

Annotated a section of annals xiv (one of the texts we study for latin)  

Finished off a maths exercise on variable acceleration 

Did some work on probability distribution and binomial distribution 

Made some french quizlets (that i was supposed to make way earlier, but at least i'm finally catching up??) (fun fact, i’m hoping to do the french c1 test over the summer, maybe in june? So i can get the certificates by the time uni apps start so i can apply to some french and maybe swiss unis) 

(Also ik i didnt post over the weekend- so sry!! i was just so tired and overwhelmed w being back to skl and having so much shit straight away i honestly didn’t even have the energy to go on tumblr so… i’m trying to get back into some sort of routine and hopefully will post this wknd :))

Reflecting on my Achievements in 2023

As today is my birthday, I would like to take the time to reflect on what I have achieved during this year and hopefully motivate you with it. I am seriously so grateful for everything.

Academics and Work:

Scored straight A's in all subjects throughout the entire year

Professors agreed to writing me recommendations for Harvard and Oxford

Worked in very prestigious firms as a working student

Landed a research position in Sustainable Finance

International Experience and Volunteering

Lived it in France for a semester, improving my French and gaining great insights into the country's culture

Worked on sustainability education in schools

Reached 19.5 k followers here on Tumblr, motivating thousands of students

Personal Development

Developed so much resilience (crazy work/study schedule, sometimes hitting over 100 hours a week)

day five first day of new term

hi!

i woke up early today! around 5am, and got ready for school and just packed my bag studied a bit had a chill morning. school was like usual, and it was really fun to be back! i'm quite tired now that i am home so i am excited to get to go to bed soon. i did have a test today, and i really felt quite happy with my answers so i hope that reflects on the result as i put in quite a lot of time studying for this test. however, either way i know that it is not the end of the world, and that i'll get more chances.

my most productive time today was the 2.5hour gap i had where i studied math and english for 2 hours and spoke to some friend for the last 30 minutes. in general a really good and fun day! going to study a hour or so more and then go to bed.

had no time to take photos today since i did ran some errands after school and then did some chores when i got home :/ i'll 100% get a photo tomorrow!! enjoy this pinterest photo in the meantime <3

My main hobby is just procrastinating in any way I can. The plan was to make a cup of coffee and then start working. What actually happened is that I watched a 3 part video series (by james hoffmann ofc) on Aeropress coffee and made a few cups with different variables. Still not sure if I found The Recipe for me, but it’s getting better (tho I don’t love the coffee beans I have)

snaps from today! it’s my 3rd day off. my morning was full, but i wasn’t able to finish renewing my car registration because the system was offline! my gosh. it happens every week, and yet, and yet. this country’s reaction to things are not preventive, but rather reactive. i was so frustrated! so i had lunch with my beau which is just a few minutes away, then we ate my favorite food stall in his campus. it was lovely!

now i’m back at home, resting before i do chores.
