Eminem Releases ‘Walk On Water’ Featuring Beyonce

Eminem write us a prescription for music therapy, and to take as needed, and boy was it needed. On Friday, Nov 10, Mathers teamed up with Beyonce and released a heartfelt rap ballad from his anticipated new album, rumored to be titled, “Revival.” ‘Walk On Water’ has a melodic downbeat progression as Eminem converses a poetic vulnerability while Beyonce’s unmistakable mezzo soothes us as the track features simplistic piano, strings, synthesizers, and even the distant sounds of the rapper scribbling on a piece of paper as he curses beneath his breath.
Eminem and Beyonce attempt to temporarily strip their music-godlike auras for a sense of relatability to being human like all of us, insecure and uncertain.
While we hear Beyonce’s repetition of, “I walk on water / But I ain't no Jesus / I walk on water / But only when it freezes,” until the lyric eventually progresses too, “If I walked on water, I would drown,” Eminem vocalizes a certain growing anxiety and insecurity that only comes with being someone who is so high up they are afraid of the fall. In true Eminem fashion, he lays all his internal discrepancies bare.

Selena’s Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Unveiled
On Saturday Nov 4, the late and great Tejano musician Selena Quintanilla was honored with a posthumous Hollywood Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Grammy Award-winning artist’s family and friends attended the ceremony as Selena was one out of 34 entertainers selected to receive a Star in 2017.
While Selena was taken from this world too soon, her legacy still lives on. Not only with the most notable tribute, the 1997 biopic of her life, Selena, starring Jennifer Lopez, but also her wax figure unveiling at Madame Tussauds Hollywood in 2016, and her 2016 MAC Cosmetics makeup line, which fans petitioned with over 37,000 signatures for MAC to curate. The limited edition Selena makeup line became the best-selling celebrity line in the history of cosmetics. The latest tribute was Google’s Doodle paying homage to Selena’s 28th anniversary of her first studio album release.

K-Pop Pioneers BTS to Perform on U.S. Television for the First Time
It was just announced today that the South Korean boyband BTS will make their U.S. television performance debut at the American Music Awards later this month on Nov. 19. Scheduled to perform their hit single, “DNA,” which garnered the most views for any South Korean music group within a 24-hour period, fans, collectively named ARMY, seem to be just as thrilled as BTS themselves.
“We are so excited to be invited to the American Music Awards and to perform on the stage for the first time,” said BTS. “All the members are honored to be on the show with other amazing artists, and we’re proud to share this great news with our fans, ARMY.”
While BTS aren’t new to American award shows, having appeared at the Billboard Music Awards earlier this year, and winning a BBMA for Top Social Artist, the American Music Awards will be the first time they perform at one, adding to the performance line-up with likes of Diana Ross, Christina Aguilera and Selena Gomez.
It seems to be well-suited for BTS to be amongst a room of peers who have too broken their own records and have made their own music history.
BTS recently released their latest EP, “Love Yourself: Her,” that debuted at No. 7 on U.S. Billboard, the highest-ever of any K-pop act, and became the first K-pop group to break into the Top 10 of the U.S. Billboard 200.
While K-pop is filled with notable soloist and groups with successes and talents of their own, BTS will hold down the fort in representing a genre of music in a way the American public has not witnessed before. BTS are truly ‘Beyond The Scene.’

With the 90s aesthetics of their vocal stylings' and harmonizations, and even the videography for their music videos, these boys give you pleasant vibes of throwback nostalgia with a mix of modernism. Their occasionally posted dance videos showcase this brilliantly. Yes, you hear that correctly. They can dance. How’s that for a throwback?
“Opens Arms,” follows the release of their previous two singles, “Would You Mind,” and “Teacher.”
