Anyway I'm not gonna touch that internalized lycanphobia with a ten foot pole. Being turned by your partner is something that can be incredibly intimate as long as both parties are consenting and the one being turned is 100% sure they want it. Literally the only downside to transforming once a month is the pain, but midol works just fine. Like I got so fucking upset as a kid when I lost the little metal thing that I kept for two years in my shoe after a priest gave it to me and was like “every time you step on it and it hurts, think about the way that you have hurt others and separated yourself from god”. And whenever I tell people about it the reactions indicate to me that maybe a lot of Catholics don’t do that? I know the ones I met in college didn’t (they were on their own weird bs) but I would genuinely love to know the percentage.

So I was talking with another ex-Catholic friend and apparently this was an abnormal experience so like ... did anyone else ever have a priest in confession ask them to do physical penance? Not necessarily beating yourself or something to that level but something like keeping an ridged metal tablet in your shoe or even just something involving exercise. I’m aware is not good to ask (especially a kid) to do but I kind of thought more people’s churches did that?
