Shape-shifting Spirit

Dream Diary: March 16, 2023

I woke up tonight from a weird dream. I was at home and my mom called on the phone. I answered the call. While speaking to my mother on the phone, I saw a shape-shifting spirit. First it was in the shape of my female cousin then it turn to the shape of my doctor sister. It seems because of my previous dream, I am no longer afraid of spirits. I just described the experience while talking to my mom calmly. Then, the dream stopped and I woke up at my hotel bed in Gensan with my heart beating fast. I thought perhaps my family just misses me.

When I flew back this afternoon, I was told all the plants in the 3rd floor were killed due to renovation. I spent a lot of time canvassing and 10,000 php to purchase their pots of transplantation but was told that due to my mom's stress. They couldn't wait for me and decided to throw them all away.

Perhaps, the spirits relate to the many plants that are now gone? I can't help but feel sad but I really did try my best to save them.

Magical Exam

Dream Diary March 3, 2024

Background: I was writing a blogpost last saturday and realized the difficulty I have in composing so my frustration might have reflected through this dream.

I used to be tormented by dreams of exams because I disliked school but this dream was different The exam was uhm. magical? First, as I read the questionaire, it came with a pop up visualization as a hint. The question was about how Dr. Rizal became a world reknowned hero. Then, a popup visual of footballers with their uniform numbers came out from the testpaper. Somehow, I got the hint that it was referring to the age of Rizal where he displayed how remarkable he was. As I wrote on the test paper in my ugly scribbles. It transformed into written words in blue and it moves to in an orderly way upwards to maximize the space of the paper. However, I was so frustrated in norganizing my thoughts that I kept striking through the words until there is no more space to write my answer in. I requested for another answer sheet and saw the proctors puzzled face. As I resumed, I heard an inner voice. It told me that I will never finish it if I focus too much on the details in arranging it by chronological order of the age. Instead, just like everything in life. I have to visualize and think of my main argument/end goal. Then, use every factual component to support the main argument.

It reminded me of my brother's instructions to me with regards to language. He told me no don't translate it word by word. You should compose the sentence first and translate it as a whole. And, I always reasoned with my brother that I couldn't do it.

Then, the inner voice told me. You cannot do it because you lack confidence in yourself. You think you are slow when in fact you are very smart. You are quick witted so stop pretending to be dumber than you are. You can do it but it will take practice as you need to reframe your mind.

Reflection: I will be more concious from now on. I will try to visualize the end goal of every thing I do.

Cross Over

Dream Diaries: Janaury 25, 2024

I couldn't sleep fully. I was lucid dreaming not realizing how much time has passed. I saw her… the angry ghost who has turned into a beautiful bright and glowing angel? She wanted me to know that she has crossed over.

Suddenly the image of the angry ghost somehow faded in comparison to the magnificence of the angel. It reminded me of how our better states can outshine our worst. The experience also taught me that we can easily misinterpret what we first perceive. What I thought might be for a fright was a call for help or attention. I also somehow could no longer find a difference in my compassion for the living who have even wronged me and the spirits who has been depicted by movies as scary.

Dream of Labor Case

Dream Entry: August 18, 2023

I entered into an elegant restaurant andbumped into a dark fat guy in coat-and-tie outfit (I had the impression that he was not so neat and looked a bit drunk) before entering into a function room for a meeting. The room had windows which showed the night sky so I felt as if we were in a tall building. I was seated beside my client on my right and a lady at my left.

I was contending that my client was unfairly hindered from promotion. The lady was telling me that the process was fair and reasonable because the its typical for candidate having 22 to 27 years of experience to be promoted but we have to wait for their lawyer to speak more on the legal implications. As I wrote down on my notepad with my blue pen 22 to 27 years, the man I bumped with entered the room. Then, I woke up.

Dream of Angry Ghost

Dream Diary: Janaury 22, 2024

Last night, I had a supposedly scary dream. I was sleeping in my bed as usual. When my side pillow fell on the floor on its own as if it someone pulled it. As I was about to reach out to the side to pick it up, the boxes by my head side rattled wildly in a noisy way. Then, a messy haired white skinned (female?) ghost (?) came floating from my head side and stared at me with angry eyes. Yes, we looked at each other eye to eye.

At first, I got scared so I prayed "Our father" as felt the sweat on my head. Before I could even finish the prayer, I remembered a previous dream which somehow explained to me that I should not be afraid of the darkness. The darkness will always be attracted to the light. As I felt inner peace and light, it suddenly disappeared together with the dark heavy air. While my eyes were closed, I woke up and felt I was back in silent room alone and my breathing was peaceful and light. After a few seconds, I courageously opened my eyes, scanned my room, felt the side pillow by my side which did not fall confirming that it was all just a dream. A dream I have conquered. I closed my eyes again to sleep. And, I woke up with a realization. A healer and the light attracts darkness so they can lead them to the light.

Weird dream entry: August 16, 2023

Background: Yesterday, my officemate had cheeseroll from Bag of Beans in Tagayatay and I was slightly reminded of our family trips to Tagytay

Dream: The dream began with me drinking cold coffee. As I was getting off the front seat of the car (seeing 2 empty coffee cups on its floor), I was complaining that I wasn't even done with my coffee and yet we were to dine again. Then the whole scene froze…

Someone telepathically told me, "But did you even purchase a single one of those three cups? See! You were given those for free so you shouldn't be complaining and instead you should have been thankful. You've been taking things for granted without even realizing it."

Then it unfroze. We got off the car. As we got there, it rained so bad the passage from the reception area to the main dining area got flooded so we had to climb by the boulders by the side. I was so tired half way that when a man in ragged shirt, who notably looked suspicious, volunteered to hold my ipad for me. I was about to give it to him but again the scene froze.

Someone telepathically told me "Look at you, you are so focused on yourself that you didn't even recognized the presence of everyone before and after you. You're selfishness and desperation is your weakness. Just look by your right. There's an open window where staffs are assisting those ahead of you and they were smiling with gratitude as they moved on. Look right further. You now realize that the end is just a leap away and you're family who are already seated by the corner."

Then, it unfroze again. I approached my family complaining of how much of a bad idea it was. Then, the scene froze again..

Someone telepathically told me "See! Again, you didn't realize that they have gone thorugh the same thing you did. In fact, your hardship was even cut into half because they got the table for you. The ego is tricky. Not being money or title motivated doesn't make you selfless. In fact, you use it as an excuse. You resist, you complain and waste energy. Open your heart, be humble, be present, serve fully and learn from everything around you.

Then I woke up acknowledging the truth… while I am an honest public servant, there is I also have selfishness and laziness which is why I keep avoiding going for higher positions with responsibility, leadership and management.

Background: My boss and I have long been in bad terms.

The dream was so weird and went on like this. We had a party and our boss even instructed for a dance contest. He gave me an evelope with a bonus of three checks.

It was unrealistic for his character so I woke up.

Weird Dream Entry: June 5, 2023

I woke up from a strange dream.  It was short but I remembered it when I woke up.

Background: I lent my tablet to my cousin since my former job gifted me an ipad anyway as a thank you gift for my work contributions.  I figure I might as well pay it forward.

Weird precognitive dream:

I received 2 short messages from my cousin:

Nakuha ko na yung tablet (in English: I got the tablet)

Pero may sira (in English: But there’s a defect)

Since it was a Monday (1st work day morning), I didn’t think much into it because I thought it was unlikely and pointless. It was improbable for my cousin to message me for a small matter and it was already 2 weeks later since he had the tablet picked up.  I actually forgot about it until my cousin messaged me this last Thursday.  It was strangely familiar like my dream so I was even confused on which one was real.

As with the dream I received 2 short messages from my cousin:

Kuha ko na pala (in English: I got it)

Btw yung case medyo parang nag ccrack na? (in English: By the way the case is cracking a bit)

I thought I should record this because so far this is the closest to reality and most vivid precognitive dream I’ve had that it even had me confuse on which actually happened. But, as to relevance or meaning? I find it has none.

Empress Flower

Dream Diary May 30, 2023

Had to stop coffee for a week because of my worsening weeping eczema. Noticed that dreams come vividly and more often when I don't drink coffee. Some were just usual day to day recollections mixed with fantasy and imagination. But this one was quite intriguing...

I was in a garden talking to someone. He was holding up a red flower which appeared to me as triangular or pointy. He held it up and said: Just like it is rare for an empress flower to bloom, (said something about 'star' but I forgot), it is rare for a leader to have the right amount of kindness and force (may not be exact word but it means a kind of strictness to enforce or implement).

There was also a list of other chinese words/traits which was flashed before me.

(I forgot because I wrote this entry 2 days later…)

Glowing Symbols

Dream Diary: April 20, 2023

My sleep these days have been difficult because my eczema is flaring up badly. It's now on its 2nd month (since I was stressed from the processing of my clearance) and worsening. =( I'm so weak again lately as if energy is draining out of me.

Now, to the dream…

Had a dream that there was a magical wall in front of me. It had neatly etched symbols which was glowing alternatively as if conveying a message. But, of course, I didn't understand it.

I don't remember anything else. When I try to attempt to recall during my awakened state, my head hurts so I just let this dream be as it is.

Okay I'm on a roll with dream memories haha.

The dream is kinda fuzzy.

It's about how heartbroken I was with my breakup with Kurt. But, in the end I somehow resolved that it wouldn't have worked out because from all the mind and persuasive tricks and power struggle, I could already see how different our principles are and that I valued justice and righteousness over everything in this life and I seem to have the courage and willingness to give my all to walk on it on my own.

Dream Diary: April 9, 2023

Another long sleep… brought about two dreams.

For the first dream

I was an assistant of my boss. As she was panicking she dropped her things and was too startled to pick them up.

I volunteered to pick them up. I could see how calm and collected I was as. And, somehow as a viewer of this dream (still within dream state - for clarity) I felt proud and happy to see myself having that kind of temperament.

We proceeded to a train station and I looked down at my bag to reach for my train card, she was way ahead of me. She tapped and entered and the glass doors closed as the train approached and she rode without me. Even as I was left, I wasn't a bit worried. I knew I could just contact her and tell her that I will be taking the next train. With that last thought. I woke up for a rest room break.

For the second dream

Is how I'm always starting out as an underdog. People wonder how I am assigned to be involved in a task when I am just a low ranking employee who no one has ever heard of. People talk about me behind my back of my incompetence. And, then I listen and learn from those and overcome it so it becomes my strength. As a viewer of this dream (still within dream state - for clarity) I thought how fun it is to always have the chance at the bottom. People can be most truthful to you and you can win them as friends when as you overcome your weaknesses to help them. With that last happy and grateful thought. I woke up.

Baby Cloud Machine

Dream Diary: April 8, 2023

I was with someone. He was showing me his new invention he calls the Baby Cloud Machine. It's a like a gigantic carnival ride with babies and toddlers contained in each capsule which is elastic, light and a bit transparent like a cloud or bubble. He says the capsules simulate the environment in the mother's womb and for the toddlers, the mothers can go in anytime for feeding. The toddlers inside looked really happy as if riding a carnival ride as they spiral around the track. He continued to say that if the capsule malfunctions, the baby is automatically ejected and it was also demonstrated to me and I saw actually the baby still sleeping upon being gently ejected at the bottom so we could immediately detect and see as it was happening. I even praised him wow this is amazing. Then, I woke up.

No matter what verses, there are seven profound Japanese concepts that Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion takes to his heart. 

1. Ikigai ((生き甲斐, i.e. one of the words I used for my url - sasori (scorpion) + ikigai (a reason for being)). 

Discover your purpose in life. Determine the reason you wake up each morning. Choose something that aligns with your strengths, passions, and the needs of the world. This is what gives life meaning. 

2. Shikita ga nai (仕方がない, meaning “it cannot be helped” or “nothing can be done about it”.

Let go of what you cannot change. Recognize that there are some things are just out of our control, and that’s okay. Let go and focus on what you can change. 

3. Wabi-sabi (侘寂,  a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection)

Find peace in imperfection. Recognize that nothing in life is perfect, including yourself and others. Instead of striving for flawlessness, find joy in the imperfections that make life unique. 

4. Gaman (我慢, “enduring the seemingly unbearable with patience and dignity”.

Preserve your dignity during tough times. Show emotional maturity and self-control, even when faced with challenges. Remember to be patient, resilient, and understanding. 

5. Oubaitori (桜梅桃李, each individual character represents a different kind of blossom: cherry, apricot, peach and plum. “we all grow and bloom at our own pace.”)

Don’t compare yourself to others. Everyone has a different timeline and unique path. It’s important to focus on your own progress, rather than trying to measure yourself against others. 

6. Kaizen (改善, "improvement”)

Always seek to improve in all areas of your life. Even small changes can add up and make a big impact over time. 

7. Shu-Ha-Ri (守破離, “first learn, then detach, and finally transcend.”)

“When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. When the student is truly ready, the teacher will disappear” - Tao Te Ching 

It is a way of thinking about how to learn and master a technique. There are three stages to acquiring knowledge; 

Shu: Learn the basics by following the teaching of one master. Imitating the work of great masters also falls in this stage. 

Ha: Start experimenting, learn from masters, and integrate the learning into the practice. 

Ri: This stage focuses on innovation and the ability to apply your learning to a variety of situations.

Computer Games

Dream Diary: April 7, 2023

I had two dreams today. Probably because I haven't had a nice comfortable long sleep in awhile. The first dream was me and a team of people who has to do a school project and it annoyed me that my team mates were just playing computer games instead.

I think this is actually my true self-a perfectionist. And, if I were to lead, I'd be like my boss who is strict too.

The second dream was my cousin from Australia was came back and visit us.
