...what does "mentor: pending" mean for finchpaw? did dawnpelt really fuck up that bad?

(was it also mentor:pending before finch's injury?)

She did fuck up severely, but it's mostly because both of them are down for the count right now. It's pending until both have recovered, where it can then be properly reevaluated. Especially now that Finchpaw's injury got worse. She might lose some or all of her sight, and Dawnpelt doesn't have the experience nor ability to properly train a disabled apprentice.

It was changed after moon 22, where Dawnpelt is Traumatized and Finchpaw's injury starts becoming infected. There's a vague comment about it during that moon!

He's been gone since moon 9 I think, so that'd be 14 moons now :(

Dawnpelt still pressed up against Minklake is just aughhh. They’re the ones to hold the other back, to try to be therefore the other, the only sympathetic ear for each other when they can’t get along with everyone else. Just remembered they both had complicated roles as mentors…

Minklake’s face in the most recent moon is so good imo, it’s like he’s definitely irked by what Mousegrove said, but there’s more concern for Dawnpelt instead. Instead of immediately getting carried away by anger or anything like that, Minklake needed to be the comfort and calm for Dawnpelt first. Hhhh

CRIES,,, I love the two of them so much, their bond is so important to me <3 I'm glad to hear just Mink's expression conveys all of that!

True! She may be petty and she can hold a mean grudge, but it's always in a direct response to something else

Is fennel atleast trying to help dawnpelt. He's much less involved then mousegrove right? Because dawns clearly needs someone to talk too and mousegrove is far to petty to actually atleast try and help.

Fennel is probably trying, but 1) things are awkward between them after fighting over Dawn's treatment of Finch, and 2) he's busy worrying about his sick daughter. Crowstar, however, is more than ready to help, and as a former mediator, incredibly qualified to, so at least she's got her!

Honestly, probably not. Mousegrove is comforting her and trying to save her life, and she does generally agree with her that Dawnpelt's an idiot

Yeah, they're not happy about it. They'd probably be confrontational over it too if they weren't also sick and have a broken leg

I don't think she would go that far, but mostly for the sake of the other two than anything else. It was probably more of a jab at Dawnpelt for letting Finchpaw get hurt in the first place

Finchpaw is moreso reacting to her infection making her feel feverish and sick than to Mousegrove's comment :') She's just really not feeling well </3

dawnpelt's one of my favourites, and it's because she sucks (affectionate) i think she should be worse, actually. not in the killing people way, in the being an absolute emotional wreck and lashing out at people who don't deserve it way

She's carrying the legacy of Goldpurr on her shoulders but she's doing it really poorly and I for one respect that about her <3 go girl give us second hand embarrassment!!!

THEY'VE GOT PROBLEMS ALL THE TIME,,, They keep healing from injuries they got from getting into a random fight and then immediately walks out the door only to get in another fight
