Scott used to be the same as her and she meant that in the most endearing way possible. They were part of the crowd that went unnoticed for the most part, except when someone set their sights on them and decided to make them a target for their own amusement. She saw Scott being charismatic though, in a funny sort of way, always able to deflect in ways that she hadn't been able to. Before moving out here, she used to be able to rely on Tara to get her through being harassed by the school bullies. Now she had to learn to fend for herself, even if it wasn't always that easy.
But something had happened to Scott overnight it seemed like. Getting better at lacrosse was the obvious part because she was pretty sure she never really saw him on the field before and now he was mastering scoring most of his team's goals for them. She swore he used to use an inhaler, too, or maybe he just managed it better these days. Sookie couldn't put her finger on why he was so different now, but she was happy for him regardless.
Sookie flashed him a kind smile when he held the door open for her instead, passing through it. ❝ You're really good out there lately, ❞ she complimented him. ❝ You remind me of Jason when he used to play. That knee injury really took him out of the game though. I reckon it wasn't meant to be. ❞ She probably should've kept that to herself, knowing Jason hated what happened to him. He'd really been hoping to land a scholarship to get him out of Beacon Hills and play sports professionally. Oh, well. Sookie and her big mouth.
Tumblr media
being invisible in school, or branded as weird — or both, if you were really lucky — was a double - edged sword. the isolation of going mostly unnoticed ( and sometimes preferring it that way, when getting noticed never yielded the best results ) while simultaneously noticing everyone else. scott remembers what it felt like. existing in a perpetual blind spot for his peers until he had to use his inhaler during gym class, fish his schoolbooks out of the cafeteria trash because he'd left his backpack unattended for five seconds, try to talk stiles down from mouthing off and getting his ass handed to him instead. but he'd noticed just about everything.
some of it just didn't mean anything until after he'd turned, and a lot of it came down to scent.
sookie and her brother are familiar enough. a handful of exchanges here and there, a class project or two. he'd empathized, because he understood it. parts of it, at any rate, like the invisible - until - you're - not thing. the visible - for - the - wrong - reasons thing. he was warming the bench and batting a D average and could barely climb the stairs, on his worst days, without running out of breath. and most of the time, she'd seemed as unfocused as he was on schoolwork. but there was never anything that struck him as weird about it. until after he'd turned, and he saw her in the hall, and something was different. her scent was different.
not just amplified, like he'd expect. not just that. something else.
it's what he's focused on for the hundredth time when they both go for the same door, at the same moment. he mirrors her laugh, a little sheepish, and shoulders open the door to hold it for her instead. " — sorry. yeah. running late, actually, so coach can yell at me instead of greenberg. at least it's a win for somebody, right? "

There's no time to voice a complaint about him ripping the fabric before her lips are sealed by another stolen kiss. It immediately makes her forget that he couldn't help himself, too eager to get her out of these clothes so he can have her any way that he wants — and he can. Sookie's sure that she's made it known how much she trusts him, how much she will always want him in every capacity, and therefore he can have anything he wants from her. He's nothing like the other men she's been with that take and give nothing back, that take and hurt her. He's someone who gives her the world.
If it wasn't for the leather bounding her wrists together, she'd be using her hands to cradle his face between them lovingly as he devoured her lips hungrily. She'd be using them to run her nails up and down his back, wishing she could mark him in a way that he wouldn't forget for a while instead of regenerating and healing within moments. There was so much she could do to please him with her hands but it must have pleased him enough just to have her bound and at his disposal.
Roaming his hands over her chest and squeezing her breath turned her on in unimaginable ways, her pink nipples hard now under the fabric of her bra. All she could do was think about him snapping off her bra next and touching her bare breaths, hot tongue on her nipples, pinching them between his teeth, anything to turn her on, as if she wasn't already wet enough as she was right now.
❝ You don't know how badly I want you, ❞ she whimpered against his mouth, wishing that he could read her mind, see those vivid fantasies, and know exactly what she wanted. Somehow though, he always exceeded her fantasies, turned her on in ways she didn't know was possible. Sookie kissed him again before telling him, ❝ You're all the man I want and deserve, Kage Skirata. Don't you dare forget it. ❞
The lower he moved down her body, the quicker her heart raced; it always would for him. Wide brown eyes watched him with peek anticipation, his husky voice reminding her that he loved her, before moving in to devour her throbbing sex. Sookie couldn't really promise him that she'd remain still but she'd try for as long as she could stand the strokes of his tongue against her sensitive clit. She watched his head move between her thighs for a few moments before leaning her head back and shutting her eyes, completely enjoying herself.
A pattern of soft moans echoed through the room, only sounding more intense as he continued to keep it up. The inside of her thighs trembled every now and then but she did what she could to control her movements, obey him, and stay as still as possible. ❝ Take them off . . . please . . . ❞ Her panties were becoming very restricting, not wanting to be this obnoxious barrier any longer.
For a long moment, he just admires her, admires the look of her like this below him, wrists bound together in leather above her head, and the rest of her body, satin clinging around the shape of her chest…her waist. She who looks upon him with frustration and adoration, not like he’s a monster to be feared like what she’s thus encountered. She’s…..
       “Perfect…”
Kage muses out loud as the thought completes. He feels her frustration almost as if it were his own, impatient to be inside her, feel her entire body grow clench around him like he loves. He would preach patience too, just like she did, but he feels everything he does right now pulls on instinct over anything else.
He leans down, brings their lips together, gentle at first while his hands roam her sides, ripples forming in the shiny fabric in what appears to be an absent way before he finds the opening just above her breasts and wrenches it open. The shear sound of it ripping has him smiling down at her in satisfaction for about half a second before he descends again, to kiss, to devour.
Kage’s teeth slide against her lips when they kiss and he steals and steals every breath she gives, cupping and squeezing her breasts between them, teasing and teasing until he’s pinching her nipples through lace.
“You are always good for me. You’re the best…for me. I only wish I could be half the man you deserve.”
Kage kisses the length of her neck, biting on her collarbone before he goes lower and lower, down between her thighs. There’s so much heat there, wet along the seam of lace that almost curiously pulls with nimble fingers.
“Remember to stay still…You don’t want to break my concentration.”
Not that he plans on helping with that.
Almost reassuringly, Kage squeezes her outer thighs affectionately, keeps her legs spread as he kisses and nips where she grows hot. He pulls the lace aside so she’s exposed for him. He breathes her in, reverent and loving.
       “I love you.”
He speaks with sincerity, love that pulls at his chest, this torment he can’t put into words without getting himself frustrated. It’s something he’s only ever been able to convey in actions.
And he does that here too, tongue flicking out to glide along tight heat, reacquainting himself with her before he repeats the motion in several strokes, closing his lips around her clit and sucking gentle before releasing, his own breath fanning out. His grip around her thighs tightens as he pulls her closer, face buried there, only slightly obscured by the ends satin where her lingerie ends.

Sookie wasn't going to lie — their first night together she was scared out of her mind. Now while Kirk had been a complete gentleman to her and had not made any moves suggesting that they had to consummate their marriage by any means, her entire life had changed that day. She had been content living at home with her parents, having her bedroom as her safe space where she could read, cry into her pillow when things got tough, change without worrying anyone would barge in without knocking first, and of course, sleeping soundly without someone else being in the same room to disturb her nightly rituals.
Even if she was given her own bed to sleep in, just being in the same room as Kirk was still intimate in its own way. Knowing he was right there even if she had her back turned to him, hearing his soft breathing as he slept during the night, and wondering if he watched her sleep after he'd woken up first in the early hours of the morning. She'd gotten used to it though, so much so that it felt like a sleepover (a sleepover with a very good-looking man that was) with the two of them in their own beds (sometimes Kirk sitting at the foot of her bed) while they chatted about this, that, or the other until one of them decided it was actually time for bed.
More so than that, she'd gotten used to sharing the house with him. It was slowly becoming her own dwelling, too. Her belongings were tucked away where they belonged, her name on some of the mail they received, and cooking in the kitchen. They might have had someone for that but she liked cooking, liked feeling in control at the stove as she cooked up some good 'old-fashioned southern cuisine for her husband. Needless to say, Sookie'd gotten so comfortable being his wife that there was just one piece of the puzzle left to complete the whole picture . . . consummating their relationship once and for all, something that had come with time and trust.
Kirk looked surprised to see her join him in the shower - surprised but delighted all the same. It didn't take long for him to pull her close to him, feeling all kinds of heat at once - the steam from the shower traveling up her legs, his broad hand cradling her face before he kissed her on the mouth, and how she was able to feel every bit of him as she pressed herself against his bare body, heat flushing between her thighs. Her delicate fingers ran up his sides and traveled around to his back as she held him, kissing him back passionately, wanting to devour and be devoured by him at last.
Tumblr media
it'd been what, almost a month now since their "marriage", or business endeavour and he'd tried so hard with her. he'd had another bed brought in to his bedroom, a beautiful queen size ornate mahogany bed with a mattress she'd chosen from the shop herself so she'd be as comfortable as possible. he wasn't going to force her to sleep in his bed but because of the housekeeper and her gossip he wanted them in the same room for the night, make it more believable for her dad after all.
he'd been a gentleman, not watched her undress or shower, let her have allowance of his funds for whatever shopping she pleased and he'd got her a brand new car, with the seats customised. he'd asked her only to wear her ring out, and for her to address herself as his missus when asked but nothing personal.
to be fair, he'd grown quite fond of playing house with the girl, smelling her perfume in his house, seeing her things scattered around the house and her toiletries neatly lined in the ensuite. he enjoyed seeing her as the first thing in the morning and the last thing at night, it brought a comfortable constant to his unstable life.
they'd grown a habit of having their meals together and him pecking a soft kiss on her forehead with a "behave, doll" every time he left the house. and he'd lie to himself if seeing her in her see through nightgown every night didn't ignite a small fire at the bottom of his belly every time. and he'd seen her glances too, of him getting dressed or walking out of the shower in a towel, but he kept to his promise.
the hot water rained heavy on him in the shower, his eyes closed and his body relaxed. it wasn't the first time he'd left the door ajar when occupying the bathroom, it was hard growing out of the habit of living alone, but this time there was something else in the air. something stirred in him when he heard a soft fabric thud and the shift in the way the water fell. he opened his eyes to see her, bare, mere inches from himself, and that warmth in his belly returned, heavy this time.
he looked at her slowly from her painted toenails to her legs and thighs and between them, to her breasts perking and shallowing with her breaths, up her neck and her slowly dampening blonde hair to her beautiful lips slightly open, and finally to her eyes. his eyes fluttered a moment and a gentle smile crept on the gangsters lips.
" 'ello, love," he said quietly, endearingly, his own chest raising with slight nervous breaths. he chuckled at her gaze, seeing how she was also silently taking in his body. he could see her lashes flutter nervously, and he couldn't hold back his need any more. if this wasn't initiation, he didn't know what was.
he reached his hand out to her face, pulling her closer, into the stream of water, though still shielded by his body in the way, and leaned his face to her. his other hand reached to her waist and he pulled her in, kissing her hungrily. lips collided heavy with hers, an exhale, almost a moan, escaping into her mouth as he pulled her closer when there wasn't any more space between them. the heat in his belly lighting a bonfire in his whole body, every cell in his body needing to be right here. her taste in his mouth was exhilarating, like a drug he couldn't get enough of.

❝ You have a pool? ❞ The excitement in her voice was crystal clear, clearly someone who didn't have her own pool and had to rely on going to the country club her family belonged to to swim there. The saltwater pool was large enough and she enjoyed laying out by the pool and soaking in the sun, relying on its rays to bronze her skin for the summer because she didn't believe in tanning beds. There was something about the privacy of having her own pool that she liked though, being able to swim without running into other people, maybe even removing her bikini to tan the rest of herself.
Sookie tilted her head to the side, a thoughtful look in her brown eyes as she imagined everything perfectly. ❝ I can see myself floating around in a pool float with a drink in hand. I like that idea a lot actually, ❞ she laughed, as if she was being enticed with her very own pool and bar to warm her up to the idea of marrying him. For a moment, she even forgot about the deal as she pictured herself floating peacefully in the pool with a drink in her hand and sunkissed skin.
❝ I guess this could all be a lot worse, ❞ she mused after another sip of her drink, setting the glass back down quietly on the bartop. ❝ I could've been seein' someone before I was told I was marrying another man. It'd be like this weird love triangle. ❞ Sookie had brought that up to her mom briefly before she had ended up storming out of the house. 'What if I was seeing someone else?' she had shouted across the kitchen table, her mom only retorting with 'Well, are you?' as if she didn't believe that she was...which she wasn't.
Sookie's chocolate eyes looked at the mobster long and hard, trying to figure him out in just a few seconds, reflecting on all of his words ever since he had first spoken to her. ❝ You really want this to work out, don't you? ❞
There was no hint of judgment in her words, no sarcasm, no disgust, none of that. That was genuinely how much she had gathered from him based on everything he had said. Kirk really did seem like he cared about her end in all of this and didn't want her to feel like, despite how mandatory it was to marry him, she had to love him . . . but what if she did? And what if he fell for her, too?
❝ That's alright, ❞ she quietly said, turning back to what remained in her glass. ❝ I have something I can wear tomorrow. ❞ Besides, it wasn't an official wedding as much as it was . . . what? Some kind of dinner? Some meeting of the minds between him and her father to make everything official?
Tumblr media
he chuckled, the thought of her lying poolside with big sunglasses on, in a skimpy bikini and a daiquiri in hand sent a soft spark down his spine. " it's a good thing we have a pool at our house, then." he emphasised the co-ownership of said house on purpose, because soon it would be not just his house but theirs. " —and a bar. " he could make her all the poolside drinks she wanted, or have someone make them, but he relished the idea of being the one making them next to her, the intimacy of handing her a drink straight from his hand.
the look she had, gazing deep into his soul, if he even had one with all the horrible things he'd done, caught in his throat when she complimented him back. he couldn't help the smug smile that it brought to his lips. kirk shook his head softly and cleared his throat, swallowing before speaking. "—well good, because you'll be seeing this mug an awful lot, doll."
the conversation around the deal was as expected, stiff and unease filled, but he felt as if she understood how he'd tried his best to make it fair on her part. he wasn't forcing her into a wedding she didn't want, and was giving her the clear exit if she so pleased. and who knew, maybe one day she'd want a wedding with him, he was sure she'd look stunning in a white dress walking the aisle to him.
her words caught him by surprise, the sudden change in tone, and the casual chug of her gin glass. it felt as if the whole energy in the room shifted around them, her words floating in his head, bouncing around with his heartbeat. he wasn't sure he'd felt a pull like this from a woman's words before, the warmth at the bottom of his belly twirling as he tried to come up with a response.
" I'll try my best to make you feel like calling yourself MINE ain't a cussword," he mused gently, with love in his eyes as he watched her. her encouraging him in winning her over didn't feel so much like a possibility or challenge as it felt like something he couldn't live without completing.
" you want me to get you anything for tomorrow? I'll get you anything you need, whatever you want to wear.." his words trailed off, feeling again the slap in the face of their whole union being a business deal.
" —i want tomorrow to be as painless for you as possible, sookie. look, i want you to be happy.. even if it's with me."

Sookie had missed out on so much in one year — three hundred and sixty-five days worth of birthdays, hot summer days out in the sun, Jason becoming a deputy of all things, their first Christmas without Gran, Arlene marrying Terry and having their baby, and Bill becoming the vampire king of Louisiana; so much more that she had missed because her heart had been broken and she ran off in the middle of the night to escape the pain. It cost her an entire year.
Going with Niall could mean losing more than that but maybe a few decades. Too much would change. She'd come back to an unrecognizable home, the only constant remaining Kage, but how could she even do that to him? She held onto her lover's hands like it was the only thing keeping her up at all, the weight of the world sitting heavily on her shoulders and making her feel dizzy.
❝ Then maybe finding out my full potential isn't worth making you wait on me, ❞ she said out loud, ❝ and leaving Jason behind when I'm all he's got left...it ain't fair. ❞
Tumblr media
"Maybe he does."
Kage says, adopting some of her mannerisms and trying to stay positive even when his instinct tells him to think of the worst case scenario instead. Thinking of that often usually worked out for him, because then he could be pleasantly surprised when it wasn't the case.
He reaches out for her, taking both of her hands in his, grasping her fingers tightly and closing his eyes. It almost looks like he's focusing on a spell, but he's really just steeling himself for what he wants to say next.
"Sweetheart, you know I'll support you. I know you want to learn these things and that it's probably better for you long term that you should. Even if you go there alone....disappear for years on this plane. People you know may grow older, but I won't. Not really. I'll still look the same. If you're asking for a constant, a consistency to return to....I'll be that. I'll wait for you. However long it takes."
His lips clamp together tightly and he looks like he wants to say more, though he hesitates at the slight show of...vulnerability. Of honesty.
"I'd miss you like crazy. I always would. But I'd understand. I know you love Jason and all your friends here. And you'd hate to see all the changes when you come back. If you do this...I know you'd want to be absolutely sure you left everyone in a good space first. A safe space...and that can be a tall order in Bon Temps."

Sookie thought about Debbie Pelt just then; how she had been given chance after chance so that she could redeem what was left of her life. The shewolf had made a series of bad decisions that caused her burnt bridges and Sookie's dumb good-natured heart had been willing to give her a second chance after trying to kill her twice. That didn't stop her from going all psycho and trying to kill her again. Only it ended up going south when she blew a bullet right through her best friend's head. Sookie had been there holding Tara's lifeless body on the floor - - - after murdering Debbie for what she'd done. Long story short, she understood where Sheldon was coming from.
❝ When you put it that way . . . ❞ She mumbled under her breath but in truth, she really did feel sorry for Sheldon, for Penny. ❝ I can try to help you. ❞ She grew quiet for a few moments afterward, chewing on her bottom lip anxiously. Losing someone was hard and while she hadn't actually permanently lost Tara, a vampire turning her instead, she still understood loss regardless and wanted someone to pay for what they've done. ❝ I'm sorry about Penny. What was she like? ❞
Tumblr media
Okay, so she wasn't going to be of any help. Maybe he should divulge some personal details as to why he was here to eliminate his 'so called best friend' of eight years. Sheldon cleared his throat slightly before he began. "Would it make any difference if I told you he attacked and turned the love of my life then left her to die and I walked in on them and he fled out the window before I could kill him myself? How about the fact I had to watch her die and she died in my arms because he did not turn her correctly and I couldn't find anyone to turn her because she requested I don't turn her? Can you help me then?" Sheldon sighed and ran a hand through his short black hair. "Her name was Penny," he said almost scornfully.

❝ Sometimes I forget y'all are vampires and have nothing but time to wait around. ❞ Sookie, on the other hand, had a very short life to live and it didn't depend on when Eric Northman decided he wanted to show back up to his establishment. Besides, she had to be in by noon at work tomorrow and needed to hit the hay in a few hours. ❝ This your first time out in Shrevport, or even Louisiana for that matter? ❞ She asked, more or less making conversation as she weaved her way through the crowd of people, eyes on the exit door ahead of them.
Tumblr media
────── "friends?" Rebekah raised a brow, Sookie had made out talking to him was some kind of urgency only to find out that the pair could share infomation whenever they pleased? infuriating. Yet the offer of a drink seemed more prefferable than waiting around - alone.
Tumblr media
"I could agree, I'd also rather not waste another moment of my life waiting." She did however have time to waste, "I'll join you, but what is so unfavourable in waiting around?" danger wasn't always a the top of her priority list.

Send me 😉 for my muse to straddle yours. | asked by @deathsfollow for eric
Tumblr media
EVERY MAN AND WOMAN WHO WALKED INTO FANGTASIA PROBABLY HAD THIS FANTASY. Seeing Eric sitting on his throne in front of his audience like a king, not even realizing his Viking history and that he really was a king, imagining all kinds of dirty things that they wanted to do to him while he was sitting there. Thank God she never dug deep into their minds to pick up on those fantasies or else she might not have initiated it for herself.
He hadn't moved from his spot since she arrived here, not sure if he was trying to pretend that he was unphased by her presence or what, but she knew differently. Just the way he clenched his jaw when she started climbing in his lap told her all that she needed to know about the way he felt about her being here — that it was unnerving for him that she was here and those broad hands of his hadn't pushed her away yet. Maybe they could busy themselves elsewhere?
❝ I don't gotta be able to read your mind to know you've fantasized about this, haven't you? ❞ The faerie challenged him to admit it out loud, wondering if he actually would.

Sookie used to beg Gran to take her out of public school and homeschool her, but they just didn't have the means to do that. Besides, Jason always stuck his nose where it didn't belong and told her that she just had to get through the last few years of high school and then she'd be free to do whatever she wanted to, even if that meant becoming a hermit living in isolation away from people and their endless thoughts. He was joking of course, like any older brother would do, except he was doing it with a telepath, an ability he didn't fully understand. Nobody did and that was the problem. Sookie was alone.
She tried not to call attention to herself in school but it was hard for her. They'd already tried diagnosing her with ADHD a few times and she didn't really blame them. It wasn't like she could tell them the reason she couldn't focus during school wasn't because she had a small attention span but it was because she couldn't stop hearing everyone's thoughts all day long. Every little bit of concentration she used to block them out meant not being able to concentrate on anything else, like schoolwork, but the teachers were always impressed that she aced her homework. Strange.
Shuffling hurriedly from the busy hallways of the high school, she was just trying to get away from the thoughts that felt particularly loud today. An exit door was in her line of sight, just needing some fresh air, and if she decided to skip her last class, would anyone really blame her? Would they even miss her? Right as she was about to reach out for the door herself, someone else was about to push it open, too.
Scott McCall, a familiar face. Well — of course she knew who he was considering they went to the same school together, but they'd briefly talked here and there. Nothing extensively. She doubted he'd even call her a friend, just some weird girl he knew from school if anything. Before they could run into each other trying to get the door, she laughed it off and said, ❝ Go ahead, you first. Heading to practice? ❞

Sookie softly laughed under her breath but commented, ❝ Daiquiris are good, too. I especially like 'em poolside on a hot day. ❞
That might have been a subtle hint, too, considering they were going to be spending a lot of time with each other and the weather was just beginning to heat up nicely outside. Already her closet was shedding itself of sweaters and being hung up with her favorite spring attire. If they found themselves spending time together at a pool or something outdoorsy on a hot summer day, then he knew what to order her without having to ask what his wife was in the mood for. Otherwise, indoor settings had a gin and tonic vibe about them.
Sookie almost flinched — almost, but didn't — when she felt his fingers slip around her hand to briefly hold onto it as they took their place at the bar. It normally took her some time to warm up to someone enough to hold their hand comfortably. Her uneasiness to take his hand in that regard could easily be explained by the events of today, being told she was forced to marry a stranger and even having a screaming match with him in his own club. Time was what it was going to take for her to completely warm up to him. She just hoped he understood it wasn't anything personal.
Just his compliment made her smile and feel the burning sensation in her cheeks that couldn't be explained away. Maybe if she had a few gin and tonics in her first so could blame the alcohol for making her body hot and flustered. Brown eyes found his own. ❝ I reckon you're not so bad on the eyes either, ❞ she complimented him right back. Once she was able to stop being so angry and really look at him, yeah, he was attractive as hell. He even felt out of her league, as silly as that might have sounded.
Sookie listened to the deal with an intense stare about her, brows slightly furrowed over her hard eyes. Her own father certainly hadn't included her in this many details, just telling her that for the good of the family business he was writing up a contract to marry her off to the person who was going to help keep them wealthy and powerful in their city, that was it. Of course, Sookie being Sookie, she knew there was more to it than that. At least Kirk was man enough to share the details with her.
She sighed and shook her head. ❝ I haven't even thought about having an actual wedding. ❞ As a little girl, she dreamed about the day she would meet her very own prince charming and would have this grand fairytale wedding. She'd pick out a beautiful gown and marry the person she wanted to give her heart to for the rest of her life. This situation didn't seem very fitting for that. She didn't meet his eyes this time, solemn voice murmuring, ❝ I guess we can just skip to signing papers and drinking champagne with my dad. ❞ That's probably what he had in mind anyway.
Sookie didn't even really want to marry him now considering it was for the sake of business, so the chances of her wanting a divorce in six months felt likely . . . but a lot could also happen in six months. For all she knew, they'd get along so well that they'd fall for each other and actually want to be married, business be damned. Maybe that was another fairytale thinking.
She reached out to take her drink and commented, ❝ Reckon you'll have to really woe me so I can make up my mind by then, ❞ and proceeded to knock back some of her drink. She meant it, too. If they were going to make this work then they couldn't strictly be business partners that happened to be legally bound to one another. If he wanted to win her heart outside of signing documents, then he had to act the part of someone who wanted to court her to win over her heart . . . and she had to do the same.

he knew she must have had a world of worry inside her about this and it brought him a great deal of unease as well the whole thing, especially the way her dad had put it into words as if he owned her. he didn't lack money, so he willingly took the deal, but he had made certain there were rules in place in the contract of this marriage, this deal. he wasn't going to keep her in a lie if they couldn't work in the end. he could be a lot, and he knew it. everyone had their bad days, but a gangster was a gangster even on a good day.
but he really did like her already, this whole show she put on, but how he'd been able to talk her down sensible, it made him feel almost excited for the future. he couldn't promise her he'd never wrong her, or let his temper get the best of him, or that the job wouldn't come home with him, or that he'd never drag blood across her kitchen rug, but by god would he try for her.
just the smell of her perfume while he walked a step or two behind her, was entwining his whole being around this woman. he placed a gentle hand on her back, very aware to keep it appropriately placed as he guided her to a seat at the side of the bar, helping her seat out for her. he leaned down to her, lips barely an inch away from her skin.
" took you for a daiquiri girl, but maybe 's me that's wrong, mm? " with a soft hum he straightened up, had one of his men go to the bar for them so he could sit down next to the lady. he took her hand into his and rubbed his thumb over her knuckle softly. eyes glanced from the table to hers, shying away after still and taking her look and scent in again. "—you're gorgeous, by the way."
he gave her a soft side smile, let go of her hand to let her choose what to do with it instead of holding it hostage in his. his gaze met the glossed table again and he spoke, the tone more serious, more aloof.
" the deal is, me people and me money's paying off your dads debts, and helping him sort out new incomes." that's the easy part, he sighed and continued. " you'll move to live with me after the announcement. you'll address yourself as me wife, wear your ring where anyone can see it. we'll 'ave no proper wedding, unless you want to.." he paused and looked at her again, for a moment.
"and if you despise me after the six months, you'll 'ave grant for divorce without lawyers and whatever you's got with your money or even my money, you get'a keep." he leaned back in his chair and looked away once more while he spoke, raking over the club with his gaze.
" i had to promise you an out, but i do hope you stay, sookie. "

₍ 📻 ₎   the mountain goats lyrics  rp  starters  ! | you're the last, best thing i've got. / astarion :) asked by @godsdefied
Tumblr media
❝ That's the thing you haven't realized about me yet, Astarion. I'm not as good as you think I am . . . or as good as I'd like to believe I am either. ❞
Once upon a time, Sookie was a normal girl who was only trying to figure out just what in the heck made her so different from everyone else she knew. She was able to get into their heads and hear unimaginable things; hurtful things, too. It's when a brooding yet charming vampire inserted himself into her life that she realized just how abnormal she was and he wasn't quick to let her forget it either. Bodies seemed to drop like flies after that and she always seemed to be caught in the middle of it in some way or another. The fingers being pointed in her direction didn't keep her from feeling guilty either. She started to think of herself exactly as what they said she was; horrible, nasty things.
❝ Death seems to follow me wherever I go no matter how hard I try to stop it. ❞ Even a dear friend had called her the angel of death. She didn't have to pull the trigger herself but it always came back around to her, didn't it? ❝ I don't want anything happenin' to you because of me. I don't want you to hate me if it does. ❞

halloween/fall starters ! 🎃 | ❝ do you wanna go walk in the leaves with me? ❞ (eric) asked by @deathsfollow
Tumblr media
❝ I'm supposed to be keepin' you out of sight, ❞ she reminded him again, not a task that she really wanted to take on for herself.
She had just gotten back from that whole faerie world disaster and was trying to pick up the pieces of her life that she hadn't even intentionally meant to leave behind — a whole year's worth of pieces, from personal relationships to making sure that Sam still let her work at the bar. She could get away with taking a night off but she'd gone "missing" for an entire year.
Now Pam had sweet-talked her into babysitting this dumb vampire who'd lost his memories. To her, it had only been a few days since he had nearly drained her of her blood in his bar, hitting her with one betrayal after the next. Now he couldn't even remember how he'd hurt her.
Sookie took him by the shoulders, attempting to push him back up the wooden stairs of her porch. ❝ We can't be goin' for midnight strolls, Eric. Cooperate with me, please. ❞

✧ ( TRUE BLOOD SENTENCE STARTERS. | ❛ What good would it do to share my pain with you? ❜ (eric) asked by @deathsfollow
Tumblr media
Eric had tried this with her already before - acting like being a vampire insinuated that he didn't have any feelings to speak of. The opposite had been true when he had dragged her to Dallas to find his maker. She had seen a whole range of emotions displayed by him, showing most of them even in one night. She had seen uncontrollable anger, lashing out at the vampires that spoke ill of Godric's name or how he chose to rule his district. She'd seen him absolutely distraught thinking the worst had happened to Godric and how torn up he was on that rooftop when his maker decided to sacrifice himself. If Eric ever tried to speak about not having feelings again, she was going to have to remind him of his bullshit.
The faerie dared to reach out so that she could place a hand gently on top of his own, attempting to show him comfort that he probably wasn't that used to. ❝ Because sharing your pain with me means you trust me enough to be vulnerable with me. ❞

Interview with a Vampire Sentences
(Sentences from Interview with a Vampire (1994). Adjust phrasing where needed)
"So, you want me to tell you the story of my life?"
"You followed me here, didn't you?"
"I was waiting for you in that alley. Watching you watching me."
"What were you going to do? Kill me, drink my blood? All that stuff?"
"You really believe this, don't you? That you're a vampire?"
"I'm flesh and blood, but not human."
"I haven't been human for 200 years."
"You lack the courage of your convictions!"
"Have you said your goodbyes to the light?"
"You'll get used to killing. Just forget about that mortal coil."
"The trick is not to think about it."
"Forgive me if I have a lingering respect for life."
"You're in love with your mortal nature. You resist what can bring you peace."
"God kills indiscriminately, and so shall we."
"What is it now? You irritate me."
"Your very presence irritates me!"
"You're spoiled because you're an only child."
"I came to make peace with you, even though you're the father of lies."
"We forgive each other, then?"
"You deserve your vengeance."
"Since you comprehend what you call goodness, doesn't that make you good?"
"Do you think I'd let them harm you?"
"The world changes. We do not."
"Your fall from grace has been the fall of a century."
"What if it's a lesson I don't care to learn?"
"As much as your invitation might appeal to me, I must regretfully decline."
"Don't be frightened. I mean you no harm."
"You've come home to me, then?"
"No one could refuse me. Not even you."
"Don't be afraid. I'm going to give you the choice I never had."
