Ok. So basically.

The first and foremost is the obvious, Ed's having mentioned the sun/moon representing binarist genders and them coming together to represent the perfect being- Kimblee very obviously has traits of both, so his nb flavor is more bigender rather than someone like Envy who is more, say, agender.

Kimblee's arrays are representative of both and when he brings his palms together, it creates his alchemy.

By Ed's own admission in alchemy, they (sun and moon) represent both genders, and when they come together they make a 'perfect being' who has traits of both.

He physically behaves in a rather non-distinct way, you couldn't really apply his personality to stereotypical masculine or feminine tropes.

Beyond that, he even looks somewhat androgynous w general feminine features but dresses in a manner that would be associated with masculinity, you could interpret it as his physical self being the feminine (moon) and his material or selected/perceived self being the masculine (sun).

For what its worth, in Japanese he refers to himself with "watashi" which is gender neutral, and also uses some speech patterns that could be attributed to women stereotypically ("ara ara").

Also, Kimblee's character is very heavy on gray area and the concept of not aligning to anyone but yourself- gender, much like morality, is too constraining for him; he doesn't much consider either. I.e. bi and nb.
