what are your top 5 henjei acting moments? 💜

the way i’ve neglected this ask for so long bc it’s impossible for me to pick favourite evak/henjei acting moments bc everything henjei did together in skam MAKES ME LOSE MY MIND AND KEEPS ME UP AT NIGHT til this very day in the cursed year of 2020 so me?? having a top 5 of henjei acting moments? it’s NOT REALISTIC my friend. every scene they did together keeps blowing me away in ways no other onscreen (especially same sex) couple has ever done so i’m like bruh... what do you want me to say?? every scene!! every moment!! THE REASON WHY i got into skam is bc of their performance as i was stunned by their refreshingly-realistic acting i could not tell if skam was a work of fiction or some type of docu/reality show... i kid you not. and when i learnt that it was, indeed, fictional, i was like NO WAY, they can’t be faking it!! but they were and i went HOLY SHT THAT’S SOME QUALITY ACTING/DIRECTING/WRITING???? so that’s when i started the show.

have 5 slightly-underrated moments instead bc the most iconic (chemistry and acting wise) ones are like duh... we know which one are THOSE, don’t we.

when they locked eyes mid-karaoke show and they made the most believable image of a smitten couple sharing a silent conversation and expressing their mutual devotion through half-lidded eyes -and gentle, knowing smiles- only, it’s so intense and tender you might prefer to look away not to intrude. seriously they make it look SO EASY AND CASUAL for a minute you forget every other onscreen couple is supposed to keep up with this level of chemistry UNTIL you watch other shows/movies and can immediately sense they’re just putting a show for the cameras and that their body language is not in sync and their eyes and energy and connection do not correlate with the scripted actions and dialogue you’re like *yawn* they could do better, they have to do better bc you’ve SEEN better and once you’ve seen the best you WON’T settle for less. when henrik and tarjei pulled stuff like this, this level of romantic, in a scene that does not have dialogue nor kisses, they set sky high standards for fictional couples and i personally use them as a parameter to judge from 0 to evak.

when tarjei played the blushing/startled-closeted gay- with a secret crush down to perfection and henrik matched with his portrayal of fake-alpha male james dean-wannabe actually-the less cool of all and a fckin dork- even and the energy of their unspoken mutual attraction is OFF THE CHARTS the entire exchange, you can FEEL isak’s palpitations and YOU KNOW (once you’ve found out that even was a nerd with a plan) that even is trying so hard to play it suave and macho when inside he’s shttng himself. this gives me chills every time, the scene is packed with suppressed-feelings vibes, yet another scene with no music no kisses no bombastic dialogue but the actors work so well together they don’t need to explictly tell/show you they’re two teenagers painfully crushing on each other as their body language towards each other is telling enough.

this bit that shows another reason why julie picked henrik as tarjei’s partner, as they complemented each other just right. outstanding chemistry aside, they fit according to their acting skills/experience as well -henrik is more guarded, is more passive and follows, while tarjei has a stronger onscreen presence due to his theater work, he’s active and he leads. in all the scenes where you can sense there is some improv done it’s always tarjei taking the initiative and henrik following accordingly. and that happened to fit with their characters, especially once evak were settled as a couple -isak is louder and sarcastic, while even is more observant and laid back. this part with the homophobic guy is 1 example of how well they fit, tarjei dominating and henrik reacting and the scene unfolds as they feed off each other in an organic, coherent way. they’re one of a kind acting partners, henrik and tarjei. the way i miss them.......there is no one like them.

the elevator kiss........the way i could write a 5k word essay on why this is the HOTTEST thing i’ve ever seen (and i’ve seen tons of movies). i could. i would. honestly? probably my favourite evak scene in the whole show... there, i did it!! i picked a favourite, there u go. but it’s just... this is too much. this scene is too much. unable to think about even’s hand gently but surely running down isak’s back to settle on his lower back to pull him closer as they kiss without combusting inside, do not tempt me, fragile material, risk of explosion. *woman takes an entire lifetime pause to absorb a SCENE* OOFFFF. TOO MUCH.

the ‘ok this is not platonic anymore this shit is flirting but i dont know how to be obvious about it please tell me i’m not reading this wrong fck i’m so excited this is really happening but i don’t want to fuck it up so i’ll keep pretending we’re just two bros hanging out alone in a pool until you explicitly show otherwise so maybe do something soon cos the anticipation is killing me shit i like you so much please be gay for me too’ banter before the pool kiss. yes, the kiss itself is legendary BUT the build up is equally electric............... the pool kiss would not be half the legendary it is without this whole segment of them joking around, playing and laughing amidst the MOST EXQUISITE ROMANTIC TENSION, it’s just wonderful to see them pretending to be nothing more than friends while dying for the other to take the first step to take it to the next level, it’s all there in their performance, the connection between them is out of this world, they’re absolutely my favourite onscreen couple in the world i’m getting emotional. tarjei and henrik.......it’s like we’re there with them in the pool. it’s like we are them. 

did my answer satisfy you, anon. bc you made me relive my henjei/evak nostalgia and i’m currently crying inside at the fact i have to keep watching shows and movies knowing that their onscreen couples come close but will never compare to these two. kings of playing boyfriends.
