Pokémon Day thoughts (OOC)

Disappointed that we didn't get a new Colosseum game announcement (not that I ever really thought we'd get one) and absolutely devastated that we didn't get any indication of a Let's Go Johto (which I legitimately expected and was excited for).

But hey, the XYZ triad is now complete!

A Pokémon Z (even a Legends Z) was not on my radar at all, and I didn't see it discussed much either. Most of the speculation I saw were ideas like Pokémon Legends Kyurem (this was the most frequently suggested), some sort of Pokémon Legends Johto / other Johto game, and maaaaybe a new Let's Go of some kind.

Instead we got something that seemed like an impossibility, which means it's not entirely wild for me to speculate about the possibility of a new Colosseum game or Let's Go Johto one of these days. I think a Let's Go Johto would be a good release title for the Nintendo Switch 2 / Super Nintendo Switch, to tide us over until the Generation 10 flagship games come out.

And now for my hottest of hot takes, the most impossible of impossibilities: What about a Let's Go Snag 'Em / Let's Go Orre?

We could use the same Let's Go mechanic for snagging. Plus they've introduced Shadow Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

Tell me it wouldn't be cool to get a new Pokéball Plus but with a snag machine theme? Frankly, if they wanted to reintroduce some sort of power glove thing, that would be the time....

Tell me it wouldn't be super weird and yet super enticing to see the Orre region rendered in the Let's Go art style? Could you imagine Miror B in a Let's Go game?

They could either release two games (one with Espeon, one with Umbreon) or release one game and let some RNG determine what your partner was.

You know you'd buy it, if only for the novelty.

I think this upgrade card was a mistake.

No complaints about the performance, OS, or the UI.

Something is seriously wrong with the battery life, though.

There's no getting around it.

Already have to charge it again! It's been less than 5 hours.

Like, what is eating up the battery? It's insane!

Ludicrous!

Maybe I should just give up and switch to a Rotom phone?

Ehhh.... but I've been a Pokégear user for sooooo long.

F-Orre-teen missed calls [RP]

Ever since I upgraded by Pokégear, I've noticed a lot of weird unexplained behavior. I'm having to charge it constantly! Something keeps eating up the battery life. I'm also having issues with the phone app. Any time my uncle calls, the call just drops out of nowhere. He's left me several voicemails, but I can't listen to any of them.

Any time I try to listen to my voicemails, I get this weird sound and the app crashes.

I'd take the upgrade card out, but I'm not so sure my Pokégear will work without it. I'd ask my uncle, but I can never get him on the phone.

What is going on!?!

I log onto Rotumblr, like some photos of cute pokemon, go to the discover page. 4 evil teams publicly plotting to take over the world, 5 people going through the most insane supernatural bullshit imaginable, and at least 1 person has been turned into a Pokemon. I log off of Rotumblr.

Thanks! After that Duskull debacle I thought my Pokégear was a lost cause. That upgrade my uncle sent seems to have improved a lot of things. Battery life has certainly diminished, though.

HELLO W-ORRE-LD [RP]

That upgrade didn't take as long as I thought! Maybe 10 minutes? Honestly, I'd say it went better than expected. I've been using it for about 30 mins now. The UI is so sleek! I'd say it's a noticeable improvement over the previous version of the OS. There are a few strange quirks, but nothing major. Looks like I'm running low on battery. Better charge it soon.
