Just read one of those sh*tty ao3 users who tag their fic as lestappen to get more engagement with their fic. Why did I read it? I was curious to see if there would be any actual lestappen or if the user only tagged them knowing it will bring readers. Now, there was Max being a simp for Charles, as usual, and an innuendo that Charles would not mind Max kissing him, that’s it, it was so superficial that you could say the main ship was Charles and Carlos and not the tagged lestappen. I stuck until the end to see if maybe there would be something, but nope, nothing. It was indeed a Charles centred fic, but when authors tag lestappen there is a mention of how Charles likes Max or is some sort of implied future relationship or established relationship, of course the focus is not on Max or their relationship but he is included in the important people in Charles’ life, not with this fic though. Even though it is tagged as Charles/Max, the fic ends with Charles being surrounded by “those he calls family” (in F1 since it takes place during the season and his actual family isn’t there): the Ferrari team, Carlos, Lando, Daniel, Oscar, Lewis, Checo, Valtteri, Fernando, Alex, George, and Pierre. See anyone missing? The Haas drivers, Logan, Lance, Yuki, Zhou, Esteban and Max, I guess because these ones weren’t in the rest of the fic they weren’t mentioned, obviously you can’t include the whole grid in a fic, especially since it’s not relevant to the plot and main character. Wait, why is Max on the list tho, didn’t the user tag their fic as Charles Leclerc/Max Verstappen, that’s how you tag the romantic/love interest pair, maybe they meant to use ‘&’ for friendship, that’s an honest mistake, but then why is Max not included in the people Charles considers as family? Surely the user didn’t just tag lestappen for engagement only 🤔

I’m so happy there is a way to block users on ao3 and cleanse the tag, making my reading experience enjoyable 😁 no more involving lestappen because they’re the ship that actually brings readers and making max the bad guy, insecure much?, if you want to write about your ship why not have an oc as the villain instead of max 🤔 I guess an oc would not bring the engagement lestappen does and you wouldn’t be able to hype up your fic and showcase how wrong it is to ship Charles with big bad Max 😱

Boring race, little to no overtakes, pole sitter cruises to victory, BUT the winner is anyone other than Verstappen Haters: What an awesome race! That was so good! Such an entertaining race! Brilliant drive! A masterclass! Absolutely deserved!

Exciting race, overtakes left right and centre, plenty of drama, driver goes from P10 or under to P1 and victory, BUT the winner is Verstappen Haters: Boring race. RB had such an easy win. Wasted my time watching this. What a disappointment. This is not a sport anymore.

These people are not racing fans, they don’t want to watch cars race.
