Something else that kind of applies is also the fact neither of their families is apparently mentioned in the stage play!! Apart from Max (because her family's from Cali), Robin and Steve are pretty much the only main characters whose family isn't in the first shadow. Even EDDIE'S dad is in it.

There can obviously be a simple explanation for it (that their parents moved to hawkins rather than grew up there), but regardless it just adds to the feeling that stobin just aren't really connected to the story like the others. It's not necessarily bad, they just feel a bit removed from it all at times.

At the end of both of Robin's seasons, her and Steve have been pretty much separated from the rest of the group.

Season 3 everyone was helping the Byers move, while Robin and Steve had their fun little family video scene. Season 4 everyone was reuniting with the group that came back, while Robin and Steve just watched (presumably Argyle did too).

I understand why it's that way, it just really makes me feel like Robin and Steve truly only have each other when it comes down to it. They don't particularly have a personal connection to what's happened with the upside down, they sort of just got accidentally roped into it all, and the closest bond they have in the group is with each other. Steve arguably has Dustin, and Robin has Nancy at a stretch, but they still feel disconnected from the familial bond of the whole group.

I don't really have a point other than stobin are just the funky coworker duo there kinda for the heck of it, but I like that for them in a way. I don't know if that should be worrying or not going into the last season, but I never said that shush.

What's the DnD crawl theory? (The one you said matches with doctor who)

It's probably not very strong but we know episode 1 is called the crawl, and in d&d a crawl as far as I know is some kind of labyrinth structure? I think it's where there's monster battles and puzzle solving and that, kinda like the actual movie labyrinth if you've ever seen that.

The doctor who episode the god complex (from series 6) there's this alien spaceship disguised as a hotel where in each of the rooms has someone's worst fear and it's supposed to scare them so much they end up possessed by this creature, I don't really remember it's been a while since I saw it.

So my "theory" (if you even want to call it that, more of a wondering) for that funko shot since they're all led down could be that they've all been put in a trance by Vecna and in this crawl like mind palace thing, and that he'll use their traumas/worst fears against them?

It probably doesn't make much sense it was just a first thought I had back when the picture came out, cos I mean they're obviously not dead are they 😭

I'm having a moment where I feel like I'm looking way too much into things but also that I am an absolute genius. You can decide which one I am.

So I'm remembering this funko shot listing pic they gave us back in november.

I still couldn't tell you what I definitely think is happening in this shot (apart from a very interesting theory of a collective Vecna trance a la that hotel episode of doctor who where they all have to deal with their darkest fears in this maze of hotel rooms, much like a "crawl" in d&d would suggest, but this isn't about that idea), but I do think knowing what we know at this point about what's being filmed for s5 (and more importantly WHO has filmed together), I think it's quite telling.

Walk with me for a second.

Based on things definitely confirmed about filming and potential leaks that could or couldn't be true, these groups are what I'm fairly certain about. There's been a couple rumours of El and Lucas working together this season trying to save Max, and they're next to each other. We've seen Joyce and possibly Will filming together, and they're next to each other. We also know from multiple photos and blatant spoilers that Robin and Will have been filming together quite a bit (swallowing my own opinion about that, let's just say I'm not totally thrilled), and they're next to each other. Whether Robin and Joyce have filmed anything together, idk. Then finally we know from both that pre-vis shot and the last photodump that Nancy, Jonathan, Steve and probably Dustin have filmed together in Steve's car, and oh look they're all together.

Right, Vickie. You will have to hear me out on this one. It may in part be my own desire to have Vickie actually involved in the bloody plot this time, but as far as we know about what they've filmed so far, Max is still in a coma. Vickie does not have a funko, and the Max funko in the shot seems to be furthest away from everyone, but closest to Robin, AND is faced down. Maybe they could have used Barb as another ginger girl to use as her placeholder and I'm being delusional, maybe that really is Max out of her coma fully functional by the second episode (cos oh yeah this shot is supposed to be within the first two episodes) and she's just faced down for the heck of it, but for the purposes of my current thoughts, we're going to assume it's supposed to be Vickie.

So based on all that, this is what I think could end up being some groupings for s5, at least for a little while.

They don't have to be permanent (god I HOPE they're not permanent cos why are you separating stobin again), but we could get these neat little three groups of four for at least a couple episodes maybe.

Nancy, Jonathan, Steve and Dustin, pretty certain have something to do on that farm in Steve's car, although half that pre-vis said jancy were in the upside down so maybe the car splits in half, idk. If so, rest in peace Steve's BMW.

Robin, Vickie, Will and Joyce, not a clue what they're doing, but if they are one big group they seem to be switching between downtown hawkins and the farm set again. Real world or upside down, idk.

Then El, Mike, Lucas and Hopper, not a ruddy clue couldn't tell you a thing in all honesty. We know both mileven and Hopper have filmed at the radio station, but so has everyone, so they might have absolutely nothing to do with whatever mini plot this may end up being, if it is one.

Whether this shot DIRECTLY links to how these groups end up grouped up, idk but it seems likely. Whatever is even happening here could lead into it, or it could just be simple foreshadowing of some sort. Maybe my groupings are wrong, maybe I'm talking out of my arse, irdk.

Sorry I feel like that was long, I am one of this planet's ramblers I cannot keep on topic and I say things in WAY too many words, so well done if you read it all, you're mad.

As much as I'd love to turn these bikes into a rovickie theory, this is Robin's bike:

Whether she got a new one after s3 idk (I'd laugh if it got destroyed at the mall when they torched the place) but as far as we know that's Robin's bike, it's not yellow or blue and it has funky red handles. She also seemingly hasn't touched it since Steve started driving her to school (and presumably work too), so if it did need replacing, she probably wouldn't have had much reason to, especially with her not even being rich enough to learn how to drive.

We could still have Robin and Vickie girlfriends biking to hospitals and losing back wheels idk (seems an odd plot for them the more I think about it, especially if they're both going to be 18/19), but my first assumption of the owners of these bikes is definitely not them. Idek who I assume they belong to if I'm being honest, maybe I should just shut up cos I can't offer a solid counter theory lmao.

Definitely the same bikes that the silly intruders found inside the hospital, maybe it's just props for the shot outside of the hospital at the end of the day.... but one lost a wheel lol

But maybe those are really Robin and Vickie's bikes to continue the blue and yellow trend, since we know for sure they are at the hospital at one point!

I feel like rovickie are so perfectly crafted for the "shut up kiss" trope.

Look I know it's not the healthiest ship trope, consent is key and all that, but hear me out, it can go like this. Somehow Vickie finds out Robin likes her, most likely Robin herself lets it slip by accident, so she's trying to recover talking and talking her way through the awkwardness then mid-ramble BAM Vickie interrupts her with her lips.

Could work the other way round, I mean they're both yappers right, but I don't think Robin would ever have the guts to kiss Vickie first while Vickie seems more likely to be bold be brave and go for it. Even if she doesn't wait for Robin to finish her ramble.
