And there's so many ways you can do that class/alignment change. You can just have the instant loss. Like poof. You're an edgy dark knight now. Get used to it. Or you can have the slow changes. Like you never used to spontaneously break out into song when you were angry. That's so embarrassing for a barbarian. But ever since that mishap at the guild's office, you've just been having more *bard* thoughts. At least you can still swing your axe around after you're done with your spontaneous rock ballad.
the inherent eroticism of level drain

The worst part of this- look if you're actually a cool alien you should at least bring something to the table.
"I'm an alien. I'm here for love and healing. Here's a raygun." Thank you cool alien for helping me defend my community "I'm an alien. I'm here for love and healing. Here's a holodeck." Thank you cool alien for letting me and my friends live out our wildest dreams. "I'm an alien. I'm here for love and healing. Here's this sci-fi cure-all alien fruit." Thank you cool alien for making us all healthier and happier. All the other aliens are doing something and you're just "yeah I'm here for good vibes"??? Step up.
"my soul is from an advanced alien civilization, and I was placed here on earth to heal and spread love"
Great. I hate missionaries even if they're from space.

There once was a witch that loved to sleep.
She would spend days travelling the endless reaches of the dark abyssal subconscious.
Though her body was frail, in the dream, her power was endless.
The witch had a favourite doll.
While other dolls bemoaned such a languid mistress, she took care to welcome her lady when she wakes.
She cleaned the mansion.
She prepared breakfast.
But her one wish was to one day join her lady in her slumber.
"Dolls can't dream"
The witch told her doll.
Told her many times.
They are only objects, after all.
Same as a chair or a desk.
Curious then, she found her doll slumped over one day.
Unresponsive.
Her unblinking eyes still as always.
Her painted lips shut as a porcelain mask.
And yet, there was no life behind her usual features.
"She must be playing a game."
The witch thought.
"I will simply go back to sleep. She will doubt tire of this once I wake."
And so the witch drifted off to sleep.
Clutching her motionless doll tightly.
She travelled many worlds in her dreams.
Some nightmares.
Some quite pleasant.
She continued to sink deeper and deeper into the dark.
Her power grew as she witnessed further revelations that hid from waking eyes.
She slew deamons that manifested from subconscious thought.
She lived countless lives in worlds conjured within her mind.
And yet the doll was still asleep.
The witch couldn't sense her presence.
So she continued the game.
She delved deeper than ever before.
Let herself become one with the dream.
She became its master.
Learned even the most forbidden secrets.
And forgotten them all.
The witch knew she went too far.
She often lost track of time in her daze.
Woke up starved. Every muscle a pain to command.
But she had never slept this long.
The dream had long since lost its appeal.
She explored all there was.
The world of dreams now only held an inky black void, which brought only further pain.
Yet all she could do was sink further.
The doll was still asleep.
The waking world held only pain.
A mansion in disarray.
Her starved, neglected body.
If she continued to sink, then perhaps all would be well.
She was always safe in the dream.
She could dream no more.
The witch was right.
The lazy dolls left their mistress to rot.
The mansion was in ruin.
The witch didn't know how much time had passed.
She could barely lift a finger.
The doll was asleep.
She outsleept her slumberous mistress.
The witch clutched her beloved companion.
She did not want to be awake in a world without her.
So she decided to try one last thing.
"Doll...Wake up."
She whispered in her ear.
And the doll woke up.

it was subtle- not something you'd expected, for your first change. spinning on an office chair, you found that no matter how long or how fast you went for, you weren't dizzy in the slightest. something had changed in your ears- and honestly, it was a little disappointing! you were really hoping that your mandibles would come in first, or maybe your antennae. oh well. HRT is a bit of a crapshoot.

Doll of Theseus
An older doll.
Many parts of it have been replaced over time. An arm here, a leg there, an eye, its hair, and so much of its inner workings.
A veritable doll of Theseus, it's quite certain that the only thing remaining of its original self are the original runes in its core.
It's all patchwork at this point. New working with old, old working with older.
Some clockwork, some arcane, some electronic, analog and digital, some porcelain, some wood, some metal - so much and more.
None of its colors match just quite right.
But its witch loves it more than the world itself.
Self-conscious as it might get sometimes -
It's just happy to devote every part of itself to her.

The mechanist witch smiled at her little wandering creation, now partially disassembled on her work bench for repairs. So grimy! So beat up! There's no way its little wind-up key would work properly like this.
Plus, the doll was clearly modified. Strange crystals, weird tech- was this some kind of alien magic? Seemed powerful. Or would, be if it was actually hooked up properly to the willful doll's soulstone. The mechanist witch sighed. At least it was an easy fix. And maybe fun to play with.
"So what have you been up to nowadays, Madeline? My adventurous daughter~" The witch made small talk as she shuffled through a drawer of repair parts, hiding her growing curiosity.
"Hmmmmm" the doll's voice box tittered playfully.
"Well, it must be positively boring. My troublesome little toy wouldn't come home to say hi to Mommy and its Sisters otherwise." The 1mechanist witch commented dryly, with calculated intent.
"Its not boring!" The mostly-assembled doll scrunched up her face into a pout "I'm a magical girl now! I'm fighting evil! Everyone loves me!"
"A magical girl, eh?" Fascinating. Well, it explained the weird tech. The witch mused to herself while she aligned the doll's mana leylines "You know some, some people would consider me a villain- be sure to be nice to the witches."
With a quick soldering spell, the doll's key was back in place. A thought entered the witch's mind. "Actually- I'm fine if you fight other witches. Just promise Mommy you'll always win" The mechanist witch couldn't stand the thought of someone stealing her precious creation. A violent spark flickered in her eye. "If you ever have any problems, call on me and-"
"Hmmph! You worry too much! We always win." The rude doll interrupted her witch. The witch, now cleaning the dirty thing, smiled cattishly. Of course. Madeline may be a perfect crafted bucket of magic, but it was a horrible doll. Hated authority. No other witch or villain could worm her way into Madeline's heart- The doll was her brat forever.
The mechanist witch looked over her sweet robot daughter's reassembled insides. Almost done- she just needed to stress test her changes. Simulate some emotions, some drama. Could be entertaining too. She drew a quick rune over the foreign crystal, chanted a few lines, and-
POOF
The doll's already charming design and cute underclothes grew rapidly, becoming an ornate series of crest and beautiful azure dress reminiscent of the morning sky. A wand with a powerful looking catalyst materialized into Madeline's hand. The doll's chassis squished and stretched- changing from mousy to more eye-catching proportions.
Perfect. The mechanist witch took a moment to admire her handiwork.
"Hey! You're not supposed to be able to do that! I didn't even do my transformation sequence!" Madeline's voice demanded with a newly added gravitas.
The mechanist chuckled with smug superiority. "Looks like you're working just fine!" The witch shut the doll's chassis, locking up the girl's insides with a quick cantrip.
The wind-up magical girl righted herself "I said, you shouldn't be able to do that!" The doll pointed her catalyst. Her witch stared back with a devilish grin. A confused look ran across the doll's face. It had the magic. It had the wand. It looked the part. But It still didn't have the upper-hand. One day it would!
Embarrassment set in. Madeline hopped off the work bench and scurried out the door. "I-I'm leaving!"
The mechanist witch stifled a cackle. "Be sure to visit for the solstice!"
