Chapter 37 - Final Exams

"I'm not taking the final exam? But I already took my written exams, why can't I take the last one? Isn't it tomorrow?" You continued to question your caregiver while he sighed and asked you to be quiet.

"We're giving you a passing grade. We just don't want you participating in class for the time being," he said, pulling out a piece of paper that was typed up by the principal saying that you passed all your exams and handing it you. "I received a phone call last night. We aren't able to track who made the call, but they're looking for you, (y/n). They know where you live."

You felt yourself freeze as fear over came you. Mr. Aizawa noticed this and put a hand on your head, ruffling your hair as he spoke, "So I can't have you focusing on some exam tomorrow that I know you'll pass when there's someone dangerous out there looking for you." You immediately nodded in understanding. "You can watch your classmates, but stay in my line of sight, okay?"

You gave another hesitant nod. As you rubbed at your tired eyes he got up to leave to his room and told you to get some rest. However, you couldn't even shut your eyes for a minute that night, because you had a feeling you knew who it was that called looking for you.

As your classmates continued to participate in their exam, you stood on the sidelines with an uneasy look on your face. You constantly felt like you were about to throw up, and the lack of sleep you had wasn't making it any better.

The other students were out there fighting against the teachers as their test, and here you were - stood against a wall and worrying over someone possibly coming to kidnap you. Your classmates that had not yet started their exams even came up to you in worry, but you didn't say a word back to them.

"Dad." You looked over at the teacher stood next to you. He gave a tired hum and glanced at you. "It's the League of Villains. The ones from the USJ. They're looking for me, and I think I have an idea of why."

You explained the events that occurred at the USJ. About how Shigaraki knew who you were and how you somehow stole his quirk - even though it disappeared from your system when you woke up in the hospital. As you continued to recall the memories of the USJ incident aloud you noticed a look on Mr. Aizawa's face that you have never seen before. Shock? Disappointment? Sadness? A mix of the three? You couldn't tell the difference from the usual indifferent expression he wore.

"Why didn't you say anything?" he suddenly interrupted. Ah, the look was sadness.

"I don't know! I just wanted to forget about it! I was starting to remember things from when I was small, and I was afraid that a bad memory would come! My mom said my father was a villain. I don't want to think about what happened to me before I was left at that happy family's doorstep." You sniffled, now realizing that you were fully crying.

Then, Mr. Aizawa did something you didn't expect. He pulled you over into a hug. One that you definitely needed at the time.

Chapter 36 - Agencies

"Four thousand two hundred thirty two. How is it that four thousand two hundred thirty two heroes want to recruit you? You were in third place too! Shouldn't the number be less than Bakugou's and Todoroki's?" Denki asked as he leaned over your desk.

"It's because of her quirk!" Mina exclaimed as if it was obvious. "She only got third place in the sports festival, but her super cool quirk makes up for it!"

You nodded and tapped your pen at your desk. "I still don't know which agency to pick though..."

"Why don't you just work with Mr. Aizawa? It would be convenient since you live with him already," Mina suggested.

"I guess I could ask-"

"(y/n)." You turned around to face Shouto, heart racing as you recalled what Bakugou had said the day before. "He likes you."

"Do you want to work with me at my father's agency?" You were shocked at the offer, but you were even more surprised by the implication that Shouto agreed to picking Endeavor's agency. He had told you about what had happened between him and his parents when he was younger after you told him about your mother and Izuku. Endeavor had been on the list of heroes that wanted to recruit you, but you definitely didn't want to work with him.

"Okay." As Shouto returned to his desk you had a sudden realization. "Wait. What? Oh god. I just agreed without thinking!" The two friends at your desk laughed as you buried your head in your arms.

There's a bit of a time skip here, but not that much of a jump. Btw, (h/n) stands for hero name bc I don't wanna pick one :/

"He just sent his location? No other information?" You glanced at Shouto's phone as you ran. Izuku had sent him a location in the middle of an alleyway. "Why didn't he send it to me too?"

"He probably figured you'd be with me," he said as he grabbed onto your hand. "Be careful. We don't know what will happen when we get there. Last time I told you not to get hurt you ended up in a hospital bed a few minutes later. I'm protecting you myself this time." Your eyes widened when his grip on your hand became tighter and you nodded at him.

You looked down at your phone when a notification popped up.

(h/n). Where are you. Shouto isn't answering his phone. You can't just leave like this. Would it be better for me to just remove you from my agency?

The message went on even longer, but you closed it, not wanting to read all of Endeavor's angry rants.

"It's your father. He's asking where we are." That's kinda your fault. As soon as you saw the location Izuku sent Shouto you figured he was in danger and ran off.

"I already told him where we were going before I went after you. Just ignore him."

You were going to respond, but you already arrived at the location and were too shocked to say anything. Iida and izuku were unmoving on the ground along with one of the local heroes. You recognized the man holding a blade over Iida as the Hero Killer: Stain. You immediately broke from your small trance and started running towards the scene as Shouto snuck in an attack with his fire.

Chapter 35 - Stupid

"I don't believe you."

Bakugou stared at you blankly. Then he you hit you in the back of the head. "Ow, what the hell is up with you always hitting me?!" You rubbed the spot where he hit as he glared at you.

"You're so fucking stupid," he said. "Icy-hot told Deku not to hurt you. He didn't respond when deku asked if he liked you." Wait. What? When did Izuku ask that? "Then, when you passed out after your fight, he threatened to kill deku if he hurt you again. You're seriously a dumbass."

"He really said all that? B-but that doesn't mean anything unless he actually says it in front of my face... Plus, how do I know you're not lying to me?"

"Why the the fuck would I pretend that someone likes you?! Just get the hell out! Tell our teacher to listen to your boy problems! I'm not your fucking therapist!" He pulled you up and started pushing you towards the door. "I don't wanna listen to this bullshit anymore!"

"Aw, but we were having so much fun!" You laughed as he started yelling at you.

"Go away!" The door slammed in your face again.

When you got home stared at the contact name on your phone. Shouto had put a heart by his name in the very beginning of the school year. Maybe Bakugou was right? You went to send a text to Shouto but someone had started a group call.

You rolled your eyes at the new name of the group chat between you, Denki, and Mina before answering. "Who came up with this hilarious name?"

Denki was the first to respond, "I did! I spammed Bakugou until he told me what happened, and I've decided that you are officially stupid, (y/n)."

Mina nodded in agreement and said, "You have evidence, and yet you still won't believe that Todoroki is pretty much in love with you."

Denki again spoke up after, "You're never gonna get a boyfriend with this kind of motivation, (y/n)!"

The rest of the call consisted of you getting yelled at by your friends. They then regretted doing that as you refused to give them the answers to any upcoming homework.

Chapter 34 - "Like"

You pressed your finger against the doorbell, humming as you waited for someone to answer. The door swung open and when Bakugou saw you he immediately rolled his eyes and slammed the door in your face.

"Hey! Bakugou! Come on, I just want to know-" You were surprised when he opened the door again and roughly pulled you in. You laughed when you noticed the mess in the open closet. "Did you seriously shut me out just to clean up? I've been to your house before, I don't care if it's a mess."

He ignored you and sat down on the sofa. "Stop talking and just sit down."

"Where are your parents?" You looked around the house for any sign of them as you plopped yourself down on the seat.

"Out. What do you want?" Bakugou stared at you, waiting for an answer.

"Aw, I was hoping to see your mom. I haven't seen her in a while." Bakugou's mom used to let you come over when your own mother was too busy with Izuku. Bakugou never paid you any attention when you were there though. But the short visits suddenly came to a halt in your last year of junior high. "But I'm here to ask you to continue our conversation from earlier."

He went silent at that, and you continued, "Come on, I wanna know what Izuku and Shouto were saying about me! Was it something bad? Is that it?"

"What do I get out of this?" he asked as he kicked his feet up on the table in front of him. "Not my problem you weren't there."

You laughed mischievously. "Oh? You do remember that I've known you since you were a child. I know all your secrets. Like how when you and Izuku were still small you would both dress up in an All Might costume and-"

"Shut up!" He glared at you and you smiled in triumph. "Fine, but before they started talking about you, they were talking about All Might. Icy-hot thinks Deku is like All Might's secret kid or something."

You went serious for once. "Um, I think I would've known if All Might was Izuku's dad... Are you sure-"

"I don't get it either, okay?! But Deku was telling me some stupid shit about how he borrowed his quirk from someone. You and I both know that he didn't have a quirk before he got into UA. Just what was he doing during the summer?"

You put your palm on the side of your face, leaning over on the sofa's armrest. "He kinda disappeared for a while. I asked a few times but he shrugged it off and just said that he went to the beach."

"Fuck. You can't keep an eye on him either because you don't live with him anymore. Whatever that wasn't the point of the conversation. You wanted to know what they were saying about you, right?"

A smirk rose onto his face forgetting all about Izuku's supposed relation to All Might as you nodded vigorously. "You wanna know what happened before your fight with Deku or after?" After? They talked again after?

"Uh, both? But tell me what happened before first!" You turned your body so you were facing Bakugou and bounced in your spot.

He glared at you and told you to stop moving so much. "I'm not gonna say shit if you keep fidgeting!" You immediately froze. "I just happened to be walking by, but I heard your boyfriend threatening Deku."

"He's not my boyfriend!" Bakugou just rolled his eyes again as you interrupted. "But... why was he threatening Izuku?"

He almost laughed at your question. "You seriously don't know? Damn, your stupid friends were right. You really are oblivious."

"What are you talking about?"

An aggravated sigh escaped his lips. "He likes you, you fucking idiot."

Chapter 33 - Visit

"I'm tired." You collapsed against the wall, letting your head hang down.

"You should be! I can't believe they let you fight both Tokoyami and Iida for third place. I bet they're super bummed out after losing too..." Mina hummed and slid down next to you.

"I don't get why they let Izuku continue... I beat him, passed out, and was fine after a bit of healing and rest. They waited for him to recover before his next fight."

Your friend nodded along with you and said, "Maybe they just wanted to finish up the festival quickly?"

"Yeah, maybe. I got to fight in the end too, so I can't complain too much." You closed your eyes. "Oh, wait!" You stood up abruptly. "I gotta go find Bakugou!"

Mina stared at you like you were crazy. "What? Why would you need to go look for him for?"

"He was about to tell me something after I woke up, but you came in so he didn't get to tell me." You stopped, realizing something. "School ended a while ago, so he probably went home... I'll just go give him a visit!"

Mina then stood up. "At his house?! You really have gone crazy, (y/n)... How do you even know where he lives?"

"You do know that he and Izuku were childhood friends, right? Of course I know where he lives."

"Yeah, you're totally not being a stalker right now. Don't you think-"

"He said Shouto and Izuku were talking about me. I have to know what they were saying." You played various scenarios in your head, thinking about what the two could have possibly said about you.

Mina's eyes widened and she pushed at your back, suddenly changing her mind about the whole situation. "In that case, you better hurry up!"

"Okay! Okay! Stop shoving me!"

Chapter 32 - Nine Years

The whole stadium was silent. Neither you nor izuku had made a move against each other even though you were told to start a while ago.

You sighed and got into a fighting stance. If he wasn't going to make the first move you would instead. You sent a line of fire his way, watching as he barely dodged the attack.

Your eyes widened as he brought his hand up and bent his finger as though he was going to flick something at you.

9 years old

"Geez, Izuku. You know we have to share a room right. Why do you have to have so much All Might merch... It's kinda creepy..."

"Because, one day, I wanna be just like him! Even if I don't have a quirk!" he said, his eyes sparkling as he gave his impersonation of All Might's laugh.

You smiled and nodded. "Alright. Alright. Just keep it on your side of the room, okay?" You flicked his forehead jokingly and laughed with him.

You gasped as the memory faded away from your mind. Why did I have to think about that right now out of all times? You blinked away the small trace of tears that formed in your eyes and continued to dodge the attacks Izuku shot at you.

"Damn it," you whispered, feeling your feet stumble slightly. Dizziness overcame you as you continued to fight. You barely noticed you had knocked Izuku out of bounds when you felt a sudden wave of nausea and collapsed.

"This is so stupid. Why do I have to be the one to wake you up again," Bakugou muttered, nudging you gently despite the annoyance in his voice.

This time, you woke up right away. "Where am I?" you whispered, rubbing at your eyes.

You heard an aggravated sigh. "You were literally here two days ago. Your stitches ripped."

"Oh, yeah, I'm in a hospital bed again."

As you closed your eyes you felt a hand harshly hit the top of your head. "Stop getting hurt, damn it!"

"Ow! I'm already injured enough, aren't I? No need to hit me!" You rubbed your head and glared.

Bakugou went silent, causing you to look up in confusion. "What is it?"

"I overheard Deku and Icy-hot talking before your fight," he said, a frown set on his face as he suddenly became extremely serious.

"About what?" you asked, feeling curious.

"You."

The door then burst open before you could say anything. "We're watching the fight! You gotta come look, (y/n)!" It was Mina at the doorway, and she wore a big smile. Bakugou left as she came to your side. But I wanted to know what he was talking about...

You glanced down at the bloodied bandages that surrounded your abdomen. "Don't I have to wait for Recovery Girl to come back before I-"

"You just popped a few stitches. You'll be fine," she said, bouncing on the heels of her feet, unable to control herself. "Plus, Recovery Girl said you can move around as long as you're careful. So come on!"

"I don't get why you're so excited by our classmates fighting each other..." you said while you pulled on your shoes.

She grabbed your hand and pulled you up from the bed. "Because, it's Midoriya and Todoroki fighting!"

You stopped moving. "I thought I saw Izuku go out of bounds?"

"You did! But they decided you were too injured to continue, So they just let him go instead." Mina pulled you by the arm and you continued to walk. "You should've seen Todoroki's face. He was pissed."

"What? Why?"

She sighed and whispered to you, "God, you're too oblivious, (y/n)."

Chapter 31 - Warmth

"Oh my god." Mina and Denki peeked from behind the wall as they witnessed Shouto plant a kiss on your lips. "We can't tell (y/n), can we?"

Denki looked over at Mina. "Huh? Why not?"

Her voice dropped down to an eerie whisper, "Because, if Todoroki finds out we told her..." She suddenly had a thought of her being frozen in a block of ice and shivered.

Denki immediately understood. "Oh. Right. Bad." It seemed he thought the same, but the agreement on his face soon faded into a small pout. "But I wanna tell her!" he whined.

"We can't. As her friends we should respect her privacy," Mina lightly scolded.

Denki once again looked sullen. That didn't last long though, because yet another idea popped up in his head. "Yeah, sure, but as her best friends we should definitely be nosy and try to help her with her love life."

Mina sighed and shook her head. "I don't think she would believe us anyway."

You frowned in your sleep when you noticed the slight pressure on your mouth. It quickly left though, and you heard a thud next to you as you slowly opened your eyes. You blinked to adjust to the light before turning to look at the person on the floor next to you. They were scrambling to sit up as if though they had just fallen. Their face was covered by their hands as they crouched over themselves, but you could easily make out who it was. "Shouto? Your ears are a bit red. Are you okay?"

You heard him take a deep breath before speaking. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just came to wake you. It's almost time for your fight with Midoriya."

"Are you sure you're alright, Shouto?" you asked. It was almost time for you to step out onto the ring where you were meant to fight Izuku. "You look a little... irritated. Are you feeling sick?"

"M'fine," he muttered, looking out onto the small arena in front of you. "Good luck. Please don't get hurt again, (y/n)."

You smiled, but it quickly fell into an embarrassed expression when he brought his left hand up to caress your cheek.

Chapter 30 - Kiss

"There she is! Where have you been, (y/n)? You missed Todoroki almost covering the whole stadium with ice. It was kinda-" Your two friends stopped in the hallway when they saw you on the floor with your head resting on your knees.

"Hey, (y/n)? You good?" Mina kneeled next to you, poking your shoulder. She looked up at Denki when you didn't budge. He just shrugged back at her.

"(y/n)." He nudged you with his foot. "Are you okay?"

"(y/n)!" Mina grabbed your face and squished your cheeks between her palms. "Oh. She's asleep. I thought she was crying or something. Way to scare us like that."

A few minutes passed. Your friends started laughing when you still didn't wake up. "Hey, Kaminari. Take a picture. We can show it to Todoroki."

The boy quickly nodded - still snickering evilly - and pulled out his phone.

"What are you guys doing?" The two trouble-makers jumped at the voice behind them.

"Oh, hey, Todoroki." Denki quickly hid his phone behind his back as Mina spoke. No need to send a picture to him anymore... "(y/n) fell asleep. You should wake her up! She has to fight Midoriya in a while after he recovers from his last battle, right? We gotta go do something real quick."

Before anyone could protest, Mina pulled Denki away and they ran away leaving an echo of laughter behind them.

"(y/n)?" Shouto called out, sitting down next to you. He took a moment to glance at your sleeping face. A few moments passed like that - in silence. But your companion soon spoke again, "(y/n), you have to wake up."

He moved closer when you didn't budge. "Or I might do something I'm going to regret later..."

You still didn't wake.

He let his eyes wander towards your face. His breath hitched as he took in your appearance, and he couldn't stop himself from closing the distance between you two as he brushed his lips lightly against yours.

Chapter 29 - VS.

Don't say a word. Don't say a word. Don't-

"(y/n), right? I saw that your last name is Aizawa. Isn't that last name of one of your teachers too?" As soon as you stepped in-bounds you were questioned by your opponent. He sighed when you didn't respond. "One of your classmates must've told you, huh? Bet it was that monkey I tricked into helping me. Stupid of him to give away his chance at winning ."

A smirk came to his face when you still didn't say a word. "Not talking? Don't worry. I'll get you to talk."

You jumped back when he stepped forward, sending currents of wind flying towards him. He wasn't able to dodge in time and barely kept himself from falling out of bounds. But he recovered quickly. "I noticed you hanging around that other classmate of yours. The son of the number two hero?"

Have you been stalking me or something? you almost asked aloud.

"Is he your boyfriend? What is it that you see in him? He's not that attractive, and it looks like he doesn't talk much." You clenched your fist at his words. "Oh. Maybe I do have a chance at beating you."

You wanted to yell. But instead, you ran and swept your leg under his feet, waiting until he was on the ground to push him out of bounds with just a shoot of water from your palm.

You gripped the soaked collar of his shirt, raising him up so that he saw your face. "What was that about you having a chance at beating me?" you whispered as soon as you were declared the winner.

"Hey, (y/n). What was that guy saying to you down there?" asked Mina as soon as you sat down next to her. "Looked like it was making you upset."

"Uh, nothing much. He just tried to get me to talk so he could use his quirk on me." You stared down at the field below you where the teachers were preparing for another battle. "Who's fighting next?"

Mina thought to herself for a moment before answering. "I think it's Todoroki and Sero." Her eyes gleamed as an idea passed through her head. "Hey, maybe you should go wish Todoroki luck before his fight!"

"O-oh. I went to look for him, but I couldn't find him anywhere," you said.

"I saw him talking to Midoriya right after your fight with Shinsou ended. He looked pretty mad now that I think about it..."

Chapter 28 - Izuku Midoriya

It was the day of the UA Sports Festival and the two preliminary elimination rounds have already passed. In the obstacle race, you ended up in second whereas in the cavalry battle you stood in first on a team with Denki and Shouto.

Now, they were announcing the bracket for the one-on-one tournament - the final event. You scanned through the names on the large screen before spotting yours. And you had to fight... a kid named Shinsou. "Who's that?" you asked cluelessly.

"(y/n)." You flinched at the voice behind you. Then you relaxed when you realized it was only one of your classmates - Ojiro. "Don't say a word to that guy when you fight him."

"Who? Shinsou? I don't even know who he is. I don't think we'll be doing much talking."

"No. You don't get it. It's his quirk," he whispered, a wary look on his face.

You quirked a brow at him and said, "Oh, that's right. You were on his team during the cavalry battle, but you said you didn't remember what happened. That has something to do with his quirk?"

"Exactly. You can't answer when he talks to you. He brainwashes you or something. You can easily beat him if you just keep your mouth shut the whole time."

You nodded in understanding. Then a realization hit you - you don't even know who you're fighting next if you pass the first round. You looked back at the screen and glanced at the name of the person you were meant to fight if you beat Shinsou.

Izuku Midoriya.

You were shocked out of your thoughts by a pitying voice, "Man, I can't believe you have to fight Midoriya. The school knows that you're sorta siblings, right? That's pretty messed up." Denki sighed and put his arm around your shoulder. "But don't worry! When you beat that general studies guy, I'm gonna be here rooting for you. You'll do great!"

"Yeah, thanks. Good luck to you too..."

Chapter 27 - Technically

"Everyone stop talking and take your seats!" You flinched at the volume of Iida's voice as he requested for everyone to be seated.

You huffed out a laugh when you noticed the state of the rest of the class. "You're the only one not sitting down, Iida," you said, interrupting and causing the rest of the class to go silent at your presence.

The silence didn't last long. "Het, (y/n)! Are you doing better?" You were bombarded with questions while you walked over to your seat behind Izuku. And you sat down as soon as your classmates were satisfied with your explanation of your current condition.

"(y/n)? Um, you know that mom is really sorry-"

You froze up at the mention of your mom. "I don't want to talk about her right now," you said quietly.

"Yeah, I get it. I respect the decision to not forgive her. But I just wanted to let you know that I'm also really sorry. You don't have to accept my apology either. I just wanted to let you know." His voice was at a mere whisper when he finished.

You gave him a small smile and grabbed his hand. "Just give me some time, alright?"

"I can't believe you still get to participate in the sports festival, (y/n). I mean, wasn't it just a few days ago you were lying in a hospital bed with cuts and bruises all over you?" Ochako had asked while you entered the classroom. The UA Sports Festival was coming soon and she asked for you to help her with her training. As a result of that, you two had become somewhat close friends. "You even had to get stitches!"

You shook your head. "I'll be fine! Recovery Girl said that I should be good to go by now," you said, sitting down in your seat. "My dad even told me-"

"Your dad?" Ochako tilted her head in confusion. Then she realized and went to hold back a laugh. "Oh! You mean Mr. Aizawa! Since when do you call him-"

You cut off her laughter, "It's all Denki's fault! He told me to do it and then I just got used to saying it!"

"It's cool though! I mean, technically you did do the same for Deku's mom. She wasn't really your mom. But she was taking care of you for a long time so-" The girl stopped talking as she noticed the sullen look on your face. "Ah! I'm so sorry, (y/n)! I didn't mean to say all that!"

You smiled and told her it was okay. It's not like she knew what actually happened between you and your family anyway.

Chapter 26 - Sorry

"I could hear you talking to me about Shouto in my sleep. What the fuck, Denki? What if someone had been listening outside the door?" you hissed out quietly as soon as Denki came into the hospital room.

"You're the one talking about it when he's only a few feet away," he whispered, pointing to the other side of the room where Shouto was asleep on the chair next to your bed. He didn't even know you were awake yet.

Before you could give another response someone else came up from behind Denki and went up to you, gently putting their arm around your shoulder and laughing along. "Hey, (y/n)! You're all better, right?" Ashido? God, Denki better not have- "So, what's this I hear about you liking someone?" Her laugh became mischievous when you didn't respond right away.

"I don't know what you're talking about," you denied, glaring at Denki and making him smile sheepishly. "And quiet down. He might hear you, Ashido."

"First of all, call me Mina. Second of all, pretty boy looks passed out over there. I don't think he'll hear me."

You looked towards the door as someone knocked. It was your mother, lip wobbling as tears fell from her eyes. "Do you mind giving us some privacy?" she asked, glancing at Denki and Mina.

"Oh. Uh, sure... see you in class, (y/n)." You waved as the two left and shut the door behind them.

She looked over at the boy still asleep in the chair next to you. "Is he going to-"

"He's fine there. Why are you here?" You impatiently looked away when she didn't say anything for a few minutes.

"I just wanted to apologize. For the way I treated you when you were still with us," she said, more tears falling as she sniffled. "It was horrible of me, and I don't expect you to forgive me right away. But I-"

"I don't."

She looked up. "What?"

"I don't forgive you. Not only did you make me feel unwanted, but you made me feel like I was pathetic. That something was wrong with me. I grew up thinking that my mother didn't love me because I had a quirk and my brother didn't. Do you understand how stupid that sounds? And then I learn that I was left at your doorstep as a baby and you didn't bother saying anything until I was in high school and got a phone call telling me you were giving me away!"

"But-" She was cut off by shuffling in the seat next to you.

You shook your head, quietly asking her to leave, "Please just go, mom."

Shouto opened his eyes as soon as she left. "How long have you been awake?" you asked, pleading in your head that he didn't hear anything when Denki and Mina were still in the room.

"Since she came in."

You sighed in relief before realizing that meant he had heard about all your family drama.

"I'm not going to say anything if you don't want me to. I'm satisfied just knowing that you're okay," he said, making you forget about your mom and bringing a smile to your face.

You were able to return to class as soon as you were released from the school medical center. Recovery Girl just wanted you to relax for a while when it came to training. You also noticed that Shigaraki's quirk that you had stolen from him was no longer usable. It wore off as soon as you woke up.

Chapter 25 - Wake Up, Dumbass

"Is she going to be okay? Mr. Aizawa?" That was Izuku's voice again. A response was muttered but you couldn't understand what was said. You wanted to speak, but you couldn't even open your eyes.

"Shouldn't she be awake already?" Oh, that was Mr. Aizawa.

"Her body's completely healed, and she should be awake by now. I can't find anything wrong with her."

"I knew I should have never let her come to this school." Is that mom? She's crying. "Please, just wake up, (y/n)."

I'm trying to.

"(y/n)? Could you wake up already? We got a break from class, but we're going to go back soon. It's gonna be boring without you there." Denki? "And hey, since you're passed out over here, I'll have you know that Todoroki is surprisingly worried about you." Why the word surprisingly? "And he's been in here since you were able to have visitors. I was finally able to kick him out though. Can't let him hear me talking about how much you like him."

How you wished you were awake just so you could tell him to shut up as you kick his ass.

"Oi, wake up, dumbass. Deku won't shut his trap and stop whining about wanting you to wake up. And icy-hot is as stoic as ever because of you. Even dunce face stopped joking around because he's worried you're not gonna wake up." Wait... no way. Bakugou came to visit you? Oh, you're so going to tease him about this later.

"Can you fucking hear me in there?! The whole class is depressed!"

Your eyes shot open at the tone of his voice. Geez, you should just record him and have him as your alarm instead. Then you'll actually wake up on time for class. "Oh, even you?" Your voice was a bit hoarse, but a small smirk rested on your face as you snickered softly.

There was silence as you looked at him. "Shit."

You burst out in laughter at the shock on his face.

"Damn it, stop laughing! You'll rip your stitches!" he yelled, his ears red from either embarrassment or anger.

Chapter 24 - Injured

"And where the hell do you think you're going?!" His hand grabbed you again, and on instinct, you grabbed at his hand to try to get away.

As soon as you touched his sleeve the material disintegrated beneath your fingers.

"Shit," hissed the villain that was holding you hostage. "How the hell did you-"

"He isn't here, Shigaraki," said one of the nearby villains. "You said he'd be here!" Anger arose amongst the others surrounding you.

"Don't you think I see that?!" Shigaraki yelled. "Stupid. Stupid. Stupid." He scratched at his neck, clearly annoyed with the situation.

"What the hell is wrong with me?" You looked down at your hand that had broken the villain's skin.

Your thoughts were interrupted when Mr. Aizawa appeared before you. "You okay, kid?"

All you could do was simply nod. You couldn't form words. You were in too much shock by what you just did. Shigaraki shoved you towards the monster-like creature next to him and he went to attack Mr. Aizawa it'd be useless though. You did something to his quirk.

In only minutes, Shigaraki was close to getting beaten. However, before that could happen, he called towards his ally that he had left you with. You were then under attack seconds after the command.

The creature that Shigaraki had called nomu hit your stomach before you could even react causing you to whimper pitifully as you hit the concrete. You choked, wincing when you spit blood onto your palm. Before the nomu could act on the offensive again, you stood up and shot a mixture of wind and fire towards it. To your surprise, it was ineffective.

It felt like hours had gone by. Endlessly getting beaten by the nomu under the control of shigaraki. You had lost hope by now, and just before you were about to give up, an idea made its way into your head. Shigaraki's quirk.

This time you allowed yourself to get grabbed by the nomu. You put your hands on its arms, watching in surprise as the skin decayed the same way Shigaraki's did earlier.

Although your tactic did work, it also aggravated your opponent enormously. Blood came from your mouth again as you were thrown hard against the floor, your body skidding backward and causing debris to fly everywhere.

"(y/n)!" you weakly turned towards the person yelling your name. Izuku. He was in the water next to Asui and Mineta, looking as if he was about to get out of his hiding to help.

"I'm fine," you coughed out, holding the fist threatening to plummet into your face. even though its skin was deteriorating, the nomu didn't want to seem to let up. "Help Mr. Aizawa."

Shigaraki must have gained the upper hand somehow because he was now sitting next to Mr. Aizawa who had his injured arm twisted behind his back.

Another hit to your gut and your eyes became blurred. Soon, you saw a flash of ice appear before you as darkness covered your vision. The last thing you heard was the number one hero announcing his arrival and the shouts of your brother asking you to stay awake.

Chapter 23 - Surprise?

13 years ago

You suckled on the thumb in your mouth, staring up at the face of your father. You were being carried in a worn and ripped piece of cloth. Dirt covered your face and a few puncture wounds from needles were scattered amongst your arms and legs.

"Sorry, kid. Too bad my quirk doesn't work on you. Try not to cause too much trouble for me in the future." An older child was behind the man as he set you down on a porch.

You whined around the finger between your lips as the doorbell rang and your father started yelling at the woman that answered the door.

A few moments of yelling later, and your father and the unknown child with him left. Your cries grew even louder as you were picked up by the owner of the house.

You broke from your sudden trance, trying to shake the new memories from your head. Because of the distraction your mind caused you, you didn't even realize you had been moved to the entrance of the facility. The warp gate user was now next to you, and both Bakugou and Kirishima were standing in front of you.

"Wait! Stop! You can't-" You were cut off when they both lunged towards the villain. Smoke covered the area and you could hear yells of frustration come from your classmates, meaning the attack must've failed. Why couldn't they just let thirteen handle the villain? you wondered as you felt yourself being covered by the villain's quirk.

It was dark, and you felt like you were drowning when you were sucked in. When you were released your body hit the concrete harshly. You sucked in a breath, trying to ignore the pain of the fall. As soon as you shakily stood from your spot on the ground, you were grabbed.

"We meet again, (y/n)," a raspy voice whispered by your ear. And again, you were in the hold of this same villain from before. "Master was upset that I let you go last time." His grip on you tightened.

"I don't know who the hell you're talking about, but I'd advise that you let go of me," you said, trying to pull your arm away from his hand.

"I'm sure you'll remember him as soon as you see him." That laughter again. It filled your ears as he let his middle finger touch your skin. You closed your eyes and awaited the pain that was going to come.

Wait. Why isn't anything happening?

"What the hell?! Why isn't it working, damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" You were released when he pulled away to look at his hands. He yelled curses and you tried to escape during his loud tantrum.

"And where the hell do you think you're going?!" His hand grabbed you again, and on instinct, you grabbed at his arm that was wrapped around you to try and get away.

Chapter 22 - Take a Picture

"Why don't you take a picture? It'll last longer." You jumped at the voice of your friend next to you.

Denki's laughter was stifled as he covered his mouth with his palm. "What? What are you talking about?"

"We're in an open bus, (y/n). You're lucky I'm the only one that caught you staring at your little crush."

"I wasn't staring! And I thought I told you to forget about that?!" you defended, crossing your arms over your chest with a pout on your face - which only made him laugh harder.

"Maybe dunce face isn't so stupid after all," said the person on the other side of you. When you turned to see Bakugou you almost fell out of your seat in shock. Since when did he partake in teasing?

"Hey, see even Kacchan agrees with me." Ah, you're going to regret saying that, Denki...

"Who agrees with who?! And don't fucking call me that!"

"What's that over there? Is it a part of the training?" You peeked from your place in the back of your classmates and saw some kind of portal. "Hey... that thing looks kinda familiar. I think I've seen it somewhere before."

Your classmates and the two teachers turned as a hand came through the growing substance. You stopped in your tracks when a face appeared soon after. Your eyes widened in realization, mind tracing back to the beginning of school.

"That quirk of yours could be useful... I'll be seeing you soon, (y/n)."

You shivered as you remembered the feeling of his cold fingers on your neck. The manic laughter that rang in your ears as he spoke of your quirk. But you were startled from your thoughts when a hand touched your arm.

"(y/n)? What's the matter?" You turned to your brother, eyes watering as a sudden chill overcame you. That man- He seems so familiar, yet you've only seen him once before.

"I-I know him. He tried to attack me at the start of school, but for some reason, he just left me alone."

"What? Why didn't you say anything?!" Izuku's voice raised in pitch - almost to a squeak - as he questioned you.

You sighed and fought the urge to pull away from his hold on your arm. "Would it have mattered if I had told you?"

Chapter 21 - Alarm

Beep! Beep! Beep!

You opened your eyes wide at the sound of the blaring alarm. As you went to shut off the sound the blankets got tangled in your legs and you fell to the ground with a loud thud. "Ouch," you whispered, rubbing your cheek that had planted on the floor.

Ignoring the throbbing pain in your face, you shakily reached for your phone from the nightstand above you.

7:54 am

"Shit! I'm going to be late!" Your eyes widened further and you quickly shot up from the floor. "Mr. Aizawa didn't wake me up again," you grumbled, frowning as you buttoned up your shirt and adjusted your tie.

You pulled the end of your shoe over your heel, almost tripping on your way out the door of your room.

A note on the kitchen counter caught your eye when you went to grab your school bag.

I had to go prepare for something at school. Grab a protein bar or something before you leave.

Dad

You choked at the name scribbled on the bottom of the page. But as you looked over the note once again a small smile reached your face.

"Uh, what? We kinda have to get to class... So if you don't mind, could you get out of our way?" Shouto already had to wait for you and your laziness because of your inability to wake up to an alarm, and now the press had to be outside the school asking about All Might?

"His leadership and wisdom remind me on a daily basis that I attend the world's most prestigious educational institution. Of course, he's the personification of the honor and integrity that one would expect. But he also isn't afraid to show his students a more humorous side." That was Iida's voice...

"Iida's still outside. Never mind. We're not late." You shook your head as your classmate continued to ramble about how it was an honor to learn under the guidance of the number one hero.

"Please, if you could just answer a few-"

"If you don't back off I'll have to resort to using my quirk on you," you said to the reporter, glaring as she proceeded to step closer.

She ignored your protest and put the mic close to your mouth. "How is-" Before she could even get halfway through her sentence you released a large gush of wind her way, sending her flying back into one of the other reporters. "I'll get you expelled for this!" she yelled as you grabbed Shouto's hand and pulled him away.

A loud alarm similar to the one that woke you up this morning blasted behind you signaling that the woman had tried to get into the school.

"Are you alright?" Shouto asked, feeling your grip tighten around his hand.

"Huh? Oh, sorry!" You let go of his hand and tried to laugh it off.

Behind the large shut doors, you could hear the press still yelling about not getting any intel on All Might.

"Today is going to be a long day, isn't it?" You sighed and hung your head.
