Ch. 14 of "My Sunshine" [Treech x Reader] Warnings: Swearing and suggestive content(Spicy poetry that implies but is not explicit)
You thought it was funny, hilarious even.
When the expected "no funny business" line was delivered from his mom, his face turned so red you thought he would die.
"Ma!"
Oh yes, you had missed this.
You giggled and looked up at him.
"It's alright, come on now..." you whispered. "You promised you would show me your poetry and I still have one notebook for you."
——
I find solace in sitting in the woods. The ghosts of our youth call out. I replay the memories in my head over and over again. Some days, I feel certain I see you, but you're always just close enough to trick me, yet too far for me to reach you.
------
When my name got called, I froze, I wondered if you were watching. So for that reason, I didn't cry. I marched up there and glared at the ''peace'' keepers. If you were watching, well, I didn't want to see weak in front of you.
The handwriting was messy and quick. He had hidden it haphazardly and ran back out before the Peace Keepers could pull him out. He hugged his Ma and promised he would be back.
-----
District Seven will always be home. No matter where I am, I will always go home. Home is the creeks rushing downstream, the tall trees and the smell of pine. Home is the dirt road and hiking trails we took. The still lake, the birds chirping, the frogs croaking. That is home. The wooden walls, your arms around me, our hands interlocked, and my head on your chest. The sound of your heart beating, your sweet words filling my ears. You are home. And district seven is not home without you.
You were proud of this one. One you'd give to him as soon as he stepped out of that arena. You gently put it on top of your desk.
____
I feel like a circus performer. I get dressed up and parade around making a show of myself. Capitol people love the circus. They love entertainment. What could be more entertaining than a district girl pretending to be one of them?
——
I've always wondered how I've survived so long without you.
There were no other words he wanted to say. That was the only sentence he could think to write. There was no space within him to write long beautiful prose about how much he missed you.
____
I decided to stop writing for a bit. My mind runs through everything. One second I feel like crying, at another time I am angry. How have I survived this long without you?
The writing on the paper was short, you admitted to yourself, but after a month of not writing this was all you could get out.
____
I play pretend like we used to. I pretend you never left. I pretend I'm not alone.
____
Most nights, you invade my thoughts. Your pretty hands, your lips, and those beautiful eyes. One hand on the pen as I write, the other distracted. Soon, it's one hand over my mouth; paper and pen forgotten as my mind runs wild with thoughts of you. Ink spills over my lap and I curse myself as I pick up.
He looked at the paper in shock as if he hadn't just written that. As if it just magically appeared. He groaned, running his hands through his thick dark hair, and hitting his head on his small desk. It shook and he winced hoping no one would wake up from the noise.
____
I sit and write at my desk till late. I fill pages and envelopes... fill other things. Until my hand becomes shaky and the writing falls off of the page. I force myself to continue, to focus. To write. The shaky letters will be obvious. When I give them to you, you will notice. I can't focus on that thought for long as I knock my ink over. It spills and covers my hands.
You stared at the writing, blushing, as if those words were not your own. What are you doing (Y/N)? you thought to yourself as you hid the poem.
____
Quick breaths. It feels like waves crashing against me. I'm glad my imagination can imagine things. Redundancy at its finest. I'd put this crudely, but you've always liked pretty words. So I'll write pretty words for the pretty girl. On every other paper but this one. Here, I'll say this: I want you. Hell, I need you. I need you to touch, to feel. I want you to need me to.
———
By the end of finishing each other's writing, your faces were bright red.
"I... um..."
"Yeah..."
You then laughed and hugged him, peppering his face with kisses. He protested, saying you were getting your lipstick on his face. In reality, he didn't care.
"(N/N) st-stop it!" He laughed, finally gently cupping your face.
You smiled and gave him a quick peck on the lips before grabbing his hands from your face. You intertwined your hands with his and then put your head in the crook of his neck.
He let out a content sigh as you did this, placing his head on top of yours, and hiding his face in your hair.
"I haven't been this... happy... since... well, since you were here. And I mean, there's no objections to us... Ma loves you. And I'm sure Pa will be happy too. You know he used to say that when I finally opened my eyes and really saw you, I'd realize I was in love... I used to tell him that we were just friends and he was gross," he laughed. "But... after you left... well... I guess distance makes the heart grow fonder."
You smiled at him talking. Just hearing how he didn't sound exhausted or scared made you happy. There was the thought in your head that he would snap. But right now, he was ok. And when he wasn't, you would be right there to hold him, comfort him, and make everything okay again
There was a comfortable silence between the two of you holding on to each other. There was no talking needed for the words you were both thinking. The silence said all that needed to be said.
It was a few hours later when his father came home. He was overjoyed at seeing his son.
You had never seen anyone cry as much as they all did. It made your eyes tear up as you stood off to the side. They were so happy, and seeing them be so overwhelmed by the joy that they were crying made you cry.
No, you weren't upset about his reunion.
You were... jealous?
Seeing his family be a family. Loving and hugging each other. You hadn't felt your family's love since the beginning of your father's relationship with the Capitol. Your mother becoming a living ghost in your house. Elusive. Your father said that affection was unnecessary and only the lowly gave any comfort to their children. That affection was how you
They talked and talked and you quietly stepped out onto the steps in front of the house.
You should be happy! You should feel ecstatic about him being with his family again! The one thing he missed the most while in the Capitol were his Ma and Pa and now... Now you were upset? No not upset... you just longed for what he had...
You felt horrible. You should be inside celebrating his return, and helping him not feel like a horrible human being...
Yet you sat outside.
It was about two hours later when the door opened behind you. The steps behind you creaked and groaned as someone stepped down and sat next to you. You gave a glance and saw Treech.
"Hi..." you whispered.
"Where did you go? I mean we just noticed but um..." he trailed off.
Don't be upset, you have no reason to be upset don't be upset.
You kept repeating that in your head.
"I've been out here for about... two hours? I uh... needed fresh air," you whispered.
"Oh? Two hours? I'm sorry I didn't notice before then (N/N)..." He mumbled, sitting on the step next to you.
His hand found yours and you sighed, leaning into him. He brought your hand to his lips and softly kissed your fingers, then your palm, and finally the back of your hand, before looking up at you.
"You doin' ok?" He whispered, noticing how sad your eyes looked.
You could not, absolutely under any circumstance, tell him that you were upset. He had way more to be upset about, and you were supposed to be happy and be there for him. How come every time he needed you, you somehow seemed to need him in the same way?
"You can be upset... It's ok..." he mumbled.
You smiled and kissed his forehead, "I promise... Now, how did they react to the news?"
His smile widened, and he stood up taking both of your hands in his.
"They're excited. Both of 'em... But, they will kill me if they find out that I haven't taken you on a proper date. So, that is our plan for tonight sunshine," he said.
You blushed at the idea of going on a 'proper' date with him. Of course, you had only imagined the moment, but now that it was finally happening, you became nervous. The prospect of going out alone for the first time as a couple with him made you squeeze his hand tightly.
_____
It was later in the night, around 8, when you said your goodbyes and headed out into the woods behind his house. He had a medium-sized bag on his shoulder, and he would not tell you what was inside.
You remembered the path, one of the hikes you two used to take up to the lake. This one led straight to the old willow tree you spent so much time at.
"Is it still...?"
"Yeah, it is still there. And it is still just our secret spot. I never brought anyone else there," he reassured, offering his arm to you.
You happily took it, hooking your arm in his as he led you through the woods, a lantern being your only form of light.
There was a warm breeze flowing through the leaves, fireflies blinking around you two.
Soon, you reached the lake and the willow. You smiled widely at seeing the spot. It looked the same. Nothing had changed about the spot. Treech put the bag down and grabbed your hands.
"Ok, well, let's go," he said, spinning you around.
You laughed at him twirling you and looked confused.
"Let's go? But we just got here," you questioned with a pout.
He laughed, taking his hat and placing it on top of the bag.
"Sorry, let me rephrase that: Let's go swimmin'," he smirked.
"But I didn't bring any swim-"
"Don't need it. I brought some towels and a blanket for later. But if you want your clothes to stay dry then..." he gestured to you and your clothes. You got the memo.
"Let me get this straight... for our first official date, you take me to our spot and are asking me to go skinny dipping with you?" You said, a smirk playing on your lips. "If you wanted to see me naked you could have just asked."
His face turned bright red at your words as he tried to defend himself, panic-stricken that you thought he would only ask you out here for that. You laughed, and went over, giving him a quick peck on the lips.
"Treech, darlin', I was just teasin'. Now, I bet I can beat you in," You giggle, beginning by taking off your shoes and socks, and tucking them neatly by the bag.
He scoffed and laughed, "Oh you're on (Y/N)!''
You took your time, knowing that when he got competitive, he got clumsy. You were so cocky as to neatly fold all your clothes as it came off. You laughed and ran into the water, deciding to keep your underwear on. It could dry later. Treech did the same.
He shook his head and groaned as he waded over to you.
"Can't believe I lost. God damnit,'' he jokingly groaned.
You laughed and kissed his cheek before grabbing his hand and pulling him a little deeper. You could both stand, yet were up to your chests in the water. He quickly wrapped his arms around your waist and leaned his head into the crook of your neck.
"I love you so fuckin' much (Y/N) (L/N), I can not wait to be completely and utterly yours," he mumbled into your neck.
"And I love you, Treech Mori, as much as there are stars in the sky. Hopefully, you can be as patient as them too."

Together
Tanner x Reader!
Warnings: Swearing
I love him sm and yeah I wanna make a part two to this maybe sooo
There were many things you could say you loved about District 10.
The fresh air, getting to care for the animals, getting to walk through the streets, sewing up clothes, and most of all you loved one boy that made District 10 seem like the best place on earth.
It was early in the morning and you looked at your list of clients and the clothing you had to make or fix. The things that needed to be fixed were waiting in neat folded piles while the fabric was thrown messily. You sighed. You were just upset about how one dress was turning out and destroyed your usually neat work station.
None of these had to be done for a couple of weeks, so you decided to start a bit later. They would understand. Especially with what was happening today. You walked out of your small home, and headed over to where the cattle was.
"Well good mornin' gals, ain't you all as pretty as a picture," you giggled, sitting on one of the wooden bars for the fence.
Some of the cows came over, and you smiled, reaching out to pet them.
"Well you're out early this mornin'," you heard a voice behind you say.
You jumped and almost fell off the fence if you hadn't caught yourself by wrapping your legs around the post.
"Oh, sorry I thought you heard me," he said.
"Yeah my bad I wasn't payin' attention. Good mornin' Tanner," you smiled.
You felt butterflies rise in your stomach as you tried to keep a friendly, not blushing and flustered, face.
He leaned against the fence post and then hopped up on it, sitting next to you.
The light from the sun was starting to get really bright, covering the expanse of the fields with its golden light. A comfortable silence sat between the two of you as you both watched the sun rise.
The silence was interrupted by one of the cows mooing.
You both laughed, and you looked over at him.
He smiled, "Well... this was a lovely way to spend the  mornin' of such a terrible day."
You looked down.
It was reaping day.
"Sorry I didn't meant to ruin-" he stammered out, trying to fix the situation.
"It's ok... I mean, it's our last year. We'll be ok," you smiled.
Part of you wanted to tell him how you felt. This was the perfect time to do so. The years of pining and crushing it could all come to a close right now.
But you said nothing.
Looking down you noticed a rip in his vest.
"What happened there?" You asked gently grabbing the fabric.
"Oh probably from it getting caught somewhere at the slaughterhouse," he shrugged.
"Hey don't mention that in front of the girls," you giggled, petting one of the cows that came up to you. "I can fix it... it's awful pretty."
He shot you a smile and nodded.
You hopped off the fence and beckoned him to follow back to your house.
Most people would be in shock of a girl who was freshly 18 living by herself, but the truth was that was the situation for most people in the districts. Your pa had died when you were young in the war, and your Ma died because she got sick about two years ago.
He awkwardly shuffled in and you had to stop yourself from laughing.
"Come on this ain't your first time in here," you laughed, leading him back to your sewing room.
He took off the vest, handing it to you. Most people thought that they should dress nice to head to town square, but there were many people who knew that dressing nice did nothing. Maybe a good impression, but in the end who cared what impression you left on the Capitol if you couldn't run or fight in your outfit.
As long as there were no stains and your clothes didn't smell, you would be fine.
Yet you wanted to look nice.
"I washed it up I guess Ma's pesterin' finally got to me," he joked, watching as you expertly wove your needle in and out.
When you finished it's like the rip was never there.
"There ya are, good as new," you said, handing it over.
He put it on with a smile.
"Well... d'ya wanna walk together?"
——
When Tanner left you on the girls side, you almost started to panic. There was a pit in the bottom of your stomach that was making you feel ill.
Your mayor got up and gave a small speech about the Hunger Games.
You weren't listening.
You weren't listening until his name was called. You looked up, your eyes scanning, hoping you had just heard wrong. You weren't listening so maybe it was someone else, oh gods let it be someone else.
But it wasn't.
You watched as Tanner slowly made his way up to the stage, some peacekeepers shoving him to walk faster.
How cruel. You felt like you were going to throw up as he locked eyes with you. You could tell he was scared. Nervous. But the cold expression on his face made it seem like he was just fine.
"And the female tribute for District 10... is..."
You watched as their hand went through the papers in the bowl, grabbing one slip out.
"(Y/N) (L/N)."
A gasp and chatter arose through the crowd.
You swear your blood froze in your veins, your heart stopped beating and your brain stopped thinking.
You wanted to cry.
But instead you walked through the crowd up to the stage.
But apparently too slow as peacekeepers began to shove you. You got to the stairs and got pushed again, making you trip. An arm wrapped around you, helping you up.
Tanner helped you across the stage.
You stared out into the crowd and began to smooth your skirts.
Why did you wear this?
Oh right, you were confident you wouldn't have your name called.
The two of you were dragged and you felt his hand grab yours. He was trying to comfort you, but that comfort was quickly ripped away when you were grabbed and thrown into somewhere.
"Well don't fuckin' throw her-"
You heard a grunt and the doors slam shut leaving you both in
"Did they stick us in a cattle cart? Oh these sons of-"
"Tanner... calm down," you whispered as you stood to get a sense for your bearings.
It was pitch black and smelled. On top of being a cattle cart, it was unclean. Mucked out, sure. But not clean.
The train lurched forward causing you to fall.
"Tanner where are you can't see a damn thing, blinder than a mute bat," you cursed, feeling around on you hands and knees.
You felt around in the dark, your hands finally touching him as he kept talking to help you find him.
"You shouldn't really grope around in the dark, could dangerous things," he said. You could hear the smile in his voice.
Sitting besides him you huffed.
"It was supposed to be our last year...we weren't supposed to-"
"It's alright.... I promise you, you will get back home safe. I will not let you get hurt," he said.
You heard him take off his hat and start fidgeting with it.
You were going to die. You were going to die there was no better time to tell him. Taking a deep breath and steeling your nerves
"Tanner..."
"Yes sweetheart?"
You flushed at the nickname. You were so glad it was dark.
"Tanner, I've liked you for a while now... and by like I mean I've been crushin' on ya and I know that you might not feel the same, but I just had to tell you because if I don't say anything now, I never will."
You spilled your guts almost running out of air. The space filled with silence except for the sound of the train running on the track.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't of said nothin' I-"
You felt his hand grab yours.
"(Y/N), I feel the same way.... I-I was waitin' for you to take it back or somethin' saying it was a joke to make me feel better," he quickly said, interrupting you.
"Really?"
"Yes, I mean you're smart, talented... you're kind to everyone... not to mention you're just so beautiful... but that not why I fell for you..." he mumbled.
You smiled and leaned on his shoulder, his hand still in yours.
"Well I'm glad I told you then..."
——
When you arrived at the station in the Capitol, the peacekeepers slid the doors open making you wince at the sudden light. Tanner got out first, and you were standing trying to adjust your eyes.
The peacekeepers started to shove you out and you protested them asking them to stop so you could actually see and not fall off the wagon, yet your words seemed to fall on deaf ears.
One shoved you and you felt yourself falling, before someone caught you.
"Don't fuckin' shove her she could've gotten hurt," he hissed.
The peacekeepers laughed and you pleaded with him to hold his anger. There would be no good to come from him yelling at them.
You were both walking side by side with peacekeepers urging you on. He helped you up into the truck and you huffed, sitting down besides him. A boy with black hair and a grey hat stood by you guys.
"These Capitol pricks are already gettin' on my bad side," you scoffed.
Before the doors shut you saw a flash of red go by.
The blonde that had been on the platform talking to the girl from district 12.
"Did you get in the wrong cage pretty boy?" Asked one tribute.
"No, not at all. This cage is delightful," he said with a bit of a smirk.
You rolled your eyes and saw the tribute, who's name you now knew as Reaper from someone calling it out, grab the boy and slam him against the back wall.
You giggled at the fear in his eyes, but then felt bad. Tanner and the rest were cheering him on.
"Alright y'all, come on.... Poor Capitol boy stuck with the muck.... But right now you're all provin' everythin' he things of the districts. That we're violent, good for nothin', dirty, and no better than animals. And you can bet if you hurt him, they'll take all of us outback and put us down like the damn mutts they think we are," you said, standing up to get people's attention.
"Capitol sympathizer, huh? Keep your mouth shut or I'll-"
"I ain't a Capitol sympathizer you shut your mouth. My pa died in the war 'cause of the Capitol. But we don't wanna die before we even get in that damn arena. So sit your asses down,” you started, pushing Tanner to sit. “And let’s all calm down.”
With that, you sat next to Tanner as the rest of the kids looked shocked. The girl who had called you a ‘Capitol sympathizer’, gave you a look of… admiration?
“Plus he’s my mentor… I might need him,” the girl with the rainbow dress said.
There was some discourse about the mentors, when suddenly the cart got thrown back, the doors opening as you screamed, falling down a tunnel, and landing onto some flat rocks.
You groaned and you were lightheaded and dizzy.
You felt a hand pass over your back and downward and you immediately got up and were about to hit someone, until you saw Tanner put his hands up in surrender.
“Tanner Sheppards you better have a damn good reason for thinkin’ it’s okay to touch me like that,” you hissed, grabbing one of his arms.
“I-I promise I wasn’t tryin’ to your skirts went up and well there’s cameras and I didn’t want you to be exposed like that in front of everyone I-“ he stammered, looking into your angry eyes.
You immediately felt ashamed of your anger towards the boy.
“I’m sorry really I thought… I mean I’m stressed about the situation but that’s still does not give me the right to snap at you like that… I’m sorry,” you mumbled, as he grabbed your hand.
“Don’t worry about it darlin’ not like you’re too orientated from that fall,” he laughed.
You roll your eyes and go to take a step before almost falling over.
“Like a bull in a china shop…” you muttered.
Tanner’s hand went around your waist and he helped you over to sit on a rock. You saw the boy with the hat, and who you assumed to be his district partner, sitting opposite of you.
“Hi, I’m (Y/N) and this is Tanner, we’re from District ten,” you introduced, smiling towards the girl.
She returned the smile and reached to shake your hand. You shook hers as she introduced herself.
“My name is Lamina… and this is Treech. We’re from district seven,” she smiled.
Both pairs of boys looked at their respective partners and then to each other. Were they expected to get along and chat like you two did?
Soon enough, you had learned everyone’s names. The girl with the rainbow dress, Lucy Gray, talked with Lamina and you.
“Well, he’s strong as an ox, but boy is he a few strings short of a guitar,” you laughed, watching as the boys spent their time arm wrestling.
The two other girls giggled.
This was almost too nice. There was a sense of dread looming in the back of your heads but for now you were happy.
“So… you and your boy?” Lucy Gray said, a teasing glint in her eyes.
“O-oh um… we’re just friends… well I guess we confessed on the train here, but he ain’t asked me to be official and call me dumb but uh… I kind of want him to ask since I confessed first,” you shrugged, blushing slightly.
“It’s not stupid! I mean… I understand your frustration, he should at least have the decency to ask before we die,” Lamina mumbled.
You didn’t know whether to laugh or frown. So you just gave a smile and nod.
The day was getting darker, turning to night. You sighed staring at the sky turning all different colors.
You heard someone sit beside you.
“Whatcha up to darlin’?”
“Oh um… just starin’ at the sorry excuse for a sunset they have here in the Capitol,” you whispered, hugging your knees to your chest.
There was a comforting silence that filled the air. You could hear some cameras training on you and Tanner, some Capitol children musing at you, and the hushed talking of the other tributes behind you. Leaning your head on Tanner’s shoulder as he wrapped his arm around your waist bringing you closer.
“Hey… so I wanna do this the right way. Sure I um… well you confessed but, I shared my feelin’s and how I felt about you… but I guess I wanna be all proper about it I mean… you deserve it and way more… I know I may just be some boy from ten that can barely help his family even from workin’, and can barely talk to ya without makin’ a fool of myself…. But I truly do like you… the way you talk, your sweetness… you’re always helpin’ not just me but others in town you make them clothes and sometimes don’t charge I mean… you’re the best seamstress in town! You’ve been through so much yet you don’t let any of that get ya down or let it turn you bitter… anyway… this is just a long way of me askin’…. (Y/N), will you be officially mine?”
Time froze. There was nothing but you and Tanner in this moment. His words echoed through your head like a choirs haunting singing reverberated through a church.
Slowly you nodded and smile, throwing your arms around him.
“Absolutely I will,” you laughed.
You gave him a quick peck on the lips and smiled.
In this moment there was no Hunger Games, no peacekeepers, no death. There was just you in the arms of the boy who made district ten seem like the best place on earth.

Ok so I am obsessed with many musicals and shows and TBOSAS
So… what if I mix them together?
I mean I only exclusively write xreaders so😭
My biggest idea though:
RIDE THE CYCLONE
Ok so my idea is one of the characters takes the place of Mischa (I’m leaning towards Tanner for some reason) and him missing his love back in district ten given the song Talia (my favorite) and there’s discourse in Hunger Games Heaven bc like he’s mad at Coral, other people are mad bc wtf you killed me but yeah

Our fandom forbearers did NOT suffer through Anne Rice, strikethrough, and other bullshit for fucking ACOTAR and Harry Potter fans to fucking ruin it for all of us by selling fanfiction. I am not losing novel length yaoi epics because some of you don't know how to act in fannish spaces and yes I do blame the booktokification of fanfic but I also blame those of you that treat fandom like content to consume and not a community to engage with.

I FORGOT ABOUT HER DRAGGING HIS BODY MY FUCKING HEART I HATE HOW MY FAVORITE CHARACTER IS SO TRAGIC 😭
Also love your personal headcanons actually
lil treech rant bc i'm ANNOYING
the perception of treech has changed so drastically from the fandoms understanding of him when the book first came out to the movie. before the movie, the main agreement on treech's character was that he was a circus performer (still gen one of my fav he's, i love the idea of him being a performer im some way, though i usually make his parents past circus performers instead of himself) he had some clear trauma with touch (i personally make him autistic because of this, imagining sensory issues to be the main reason, though there are older theories abt past sa happening to him) and - one of my favourite ideas - was him being a foil to lucy gray.
both book treech and lucy gray were fairly passive until the ending of the games, both of them preferring not to engage in confrontation and instead kill in more sneaky ways (when someone wasn't looking, with poison and both seemed to be popular in the capitol.
i almost think the movie gives more proof of this with treech having the highest sponsor count after lucy gray and being the only other tribute we see struggle with guilt and morality during the games. both clearly cared about their district partners, both had a hand in their partners death. both seem to charm the capitol.
so, the majority of my own depictions of treech come to down to making him a sort of twisted version of lucy gray. his life is slightly harder than hers - i usually write him to be looking after his two sisters, struggling with a job in the lumberyard and being incredibly poor (more on that in a minute) - so he's naturally lost some of his spark.
he enjoys preforming, but sees it as a chore more often than not due to how tired he is these days, he's no longer truly happy in life.
i believe he's poor simply due to his outfit in the movie. everyone seems to be wearing something intricate, something that clearly has work and money put into it, while he's in his work clothes. i also imagine this would make him weak and much like katniss, i think he'd be underfed in his attempts to provide for his sisters and put them above himself.
a lot of the time, i see people act as though him joining the pack in the movie didn't make any sense when compared to the book, and though i agree it does change the plot, i don't think it at all changes his character. he's a coward in both book and movie, he avoids confrontation in the book, only steals from the already weakened and hides the entire games. in the movie he leaves lamina despite wishing to stay with her as he's more concerned with his safety that with being courageous.
personally, i think book treech may have also joined the pack if given the chance. i do think his survival would always come above morality for him, no matter how clear it is that the guilt tears his up about it.
treech's death, however, is the most impactful for me in both the book and movie. in the book you see a boy so desperate for comfort that he latches onto lucy gray's embrace, or you could instead see a boy so fearful of touch that he freezes in her arms. either way, he's clearly filled with rage when the snake bites, because book treech knew he was going home. he could have beaten lucy gray and reaper had rabies - treech had practically already been basking in his victory.
then a snake latched onto him and in his final moments he bashed the snake to death in revenge as he couldn't reach lucy gray.
movie treech, however, was in agony. he didn't digest the poison as dill did, meaning it instead would have had to enter his bloodstream, which would have been more painful and slower. you can see him covering his face, shaking, retching and practically sobbing before he dies, all while he's ignored and left to lay there forgotten.
movie treech is also never placed in the morgue and book treech's body is dragged around by lucy gray, so even after death he's the only tribute never left to rest :)

Treech's more of a giver than a receiver. The most important part of sex was seeing how good he makes you feel. Your moans, your face... You were so pretty that he could easily cum just by watching you.
“Such a good girl…” Treech intertwined his hands with yours as you chased your orgasm, your pussy squeezing his cock every time you rolled the hips.
You were so lost in the feeling of being fucked so deep that you could barely keep your eyes open. Your brain was completely blank, the only thought being about how good it felt having Treech inside you.
He groaned when you bit your own lip, just trying to prevent the volume of your sounds from increasing even more. Disturbing the other mentors on the train would be a very embarrassing and unnecessary situation.
"You look so gorgeous, my sweetheart..." It was his turn to bite his lips. He was ecstatic as he admired the sight of your bouncing boobs and the sound of your whimpers. "Such a good girl for me."

Ch.13 of “My Sunshine” [TreechxReader]
Warnings: None
You were blushing and embarrassed as he smirked at you.
"Well... those were in a folder marked to not read I thought you'd-"
"You said I could read everything," he interrupted. "Plus... it's kinda cute..."
You pouted and stuck out your tongue.
"Whatever... I'm gonna pack," you huffed turning away from him.
He truly thought you were upset with him and stood up walking over to you. He wrapped his arms around your waist and hid his face in the crook of your neck.
"I'm sorry... didn't mean to make you upset..." he mumbled.
You couldn't keep a straight face, and laughed.
"Mm... don't laugh..." he muttered against your neck, grabbing your hands, stopping you from packing.
You blushed at the feeling and stammered out a short, "I have to pack."
"Mmm... do it later..."
"Treech, how about a compromise? You help me pack and I can give you all my attention after," you said.
He groaned, wanting all of your attention now. But he agreed.
——
You were wondering when the down going to hit him. The realization of what happened. What he went through. You couldn't imagine how he felt. But in this moment he seemed content laying with you as you stroked his hair.
There was a stupid grin on his face as his eyes looked lazily up to you.
"You're so cute Sunshine.... Didn't know you felt that way about me," he teased.
You could feel your face grow warmer at his words.
"I-ugh! I told you already... it's stupid," you stammered, taking your hands away from his hair. He sat up on your bed and pulled you up with him..
"It's not stupid... you'll see tomorrow, I told you I did the same thing," he mumbled, pressing a soft kiss to your lips.
You looked away.
"Yeah but my poetry has a certain level of degeneracy I should not have been writing. I mean I hadn't seen you for how long?" You stated embarrassed.
"And you think I was any better?"
At his words you looked up at him. He was blushing and looking away, scared to meet your gaze.
"Pervert."
"Are you kidding me? Really? Says you."
You both laughed, and you decided to lie down. It was late. And you had an early train to catch.
"Tomorrow, when we get home... I'll show you my poetry... promise. And maybe I'll show you what I mean in some-"
You shut him up with a kiss before you cuddled into his chest, falling asleep.
——
Before the sun had even risen you were up. You fetched Treech's clothes from the rack of dry clean clothes and went back to your room, softly shutting the door. You turned on a small lamp as to not cause too much light to exit.
"Treech... Treech time to wake up," you whispered.
He groaned and looked up at you groggily.
"Mornin'.... I'm up," he said sleepily, his voice raspy from just waking up.
You smiled and placed his clothes at the foot of your bed as you picked out your outfit for the day.
You were glad to leave behind the Academy rouges.
A part of you would miss the memories associated with them... but you could always have your friends visit. Well... friend. Sejanus. Coriolanus had lost your trust. But you would pretend you didn't know of his cheating. For the sake of your new life.
You hummed, picking out some flared corduroy pants and a loose white shirt. You grabbed a green jacket and your boots and began getting undressed.
You heard Treech cough and choke on his own cough you assumed. You turned to face him with a questioning look.
"You're just... gonna... I mean I don't mind but I-" he stammered, looking away. But you saw him sneak a peak.
"I mean... I don't care. If you have a problem with it I can go to the-"
"Nononono, it's ok I was just... shocked I guess."
You roll your eyes and go back to undressing.
_-_-_-_
If he had known the absolute torture being trapped in a room with you was he would have stayed in the infirmary.
Oh he loved it. He loved you. He loved this. It was torture, sure. But there was something... domestic about it. Sure, he was 18, he was going to have urges for certain things. But there was something sweet about how you trusted him and felt comfortable enough to just be around him like that. His eyes traced over every line, curve, dent, bump, stretch mark.... He loved all of it.
He had gotten out of bed and started getting undressed himself.
He heard you hum softly and turned as he pulled his pants up. You were dressed and just making sure you had everything.
"You're so pretty..." he mumbled under his breath.
"What was that darlin'?"
"Said you're so pretty..."
_____
You both quietly left your house. Your mom was bound to be sleeping. And if she was up, you didn't think she'd even try to stop you.You took one last look at the boring plain building and scoffed. Good riddance.
You walked hand in hand, quietly and quickly to the station.
When you arrived, Dean Highbottom was already waiting there for you.
"So... this is your final decision?" He asked.
You nodded.
"Alright... if you ever need anything... I'm always just a letter away."
You thanked him for all he had done as the train whistle blew.
"Good news is you both get to ride in the actual train," he said with a small laugh. "You know they send the victors back in those same cattle cars?"
The idea of that made you upset. After all the 'victors' had gone through, you would expect the Capitol to have the decency of sending them back with some sort of comfort.
You both got into the train and noticed it was empty except for the two of you and some peacekeepers.
The train screeched to life, the whistle blowing loudly. It started moving, making you stumble a bit. You picked a seat and told him to sit by the window. When he did, although a bit hesitantly, you sat next to him, leaning your head on his shoulder.
After about an hour of just straight silence, the only noise being the train running down the tracks and the occasional peacekeeper walking around.
"Do you think that everyone will hate me when we get home?"
There it was.
The guilt, the fear. It was bubbling up inside of him.
"Darling I don't believe they will..." you whispered, grabbing his hands.
He pulled them away from you.
"I don't know how you can hold my hands... they're stained with death... they're the hands of a murderer," he whispered, tears starting to build up.
You saw his eyes brim with tears and you gently grabbed his hands again.
"No... they are the hands of the man I love. You are not a murderer... you are as much of a victim as anyone killed... you had to do somethings you didn't want to. You found no pleasure in what you did. Treech, I know it's going to be hard... adjusting to what happened and going back. Truly. And I want you to know that I am here for you... whenever you need me... ok?" You said, bringing him close to you, his face in your chest. You felt his tears soak through your shirt, yet you didn't mind one bit, comforting him, whispering sweet nothings into his ears, and softly stroking his hair.
——
You had both fallen asleep on each other, and you were startled awake by the screeching of the train as it stopped.
Steam filled the platform outside and you gently shook the sleeping boy to wake him. He jumped, waking up in a panic.
“Oh… we’re here…” he muttered, standing up and stretching.
You did the same and went to grab your two suitcases, but ever the gentleman, he swooped in to pick them up himself.
“Treech I can pick them up myself, I’m an independent woman,” you whined, trying to grab at least one.
“I know you can. I know you’re independent. But I want to help,” he said, a smile playing on his lips. “And plus… ma would kill me if I wasn’t treatin’ you right.”
You rolled your eyes and agreed. The two of you walked to the door. It opened and you saw hesitation cross over his face.
“Hey… it’s ok… whatever happens… I’m here for you…” you whispered, hooking your arm with his.
He took a deep breath, and you both stepped onto the platform.
You looked around and a smile began to grow across your face.
The clean air, the small chatter of people heading to work in the lumberyard, the sun just starting to peak over the trees, a soft fog covering the tops.
You were home.
Suddenly you felt warm arms wrap around you and the sound crying filled your ears.
A soft hand gently cupped your face and you looked to the person.
You looked at the woman and recognized her. Jet black hair with a streak of gray in the front, stormy gray eyes, and soft olive skin. Oh she looked older, but you recognized her.
“Oh, sweethearts, I’m so glad you’re ok,” she whispered in between sobs. “(Y/N), thank you… thank you for keepin’ him safe… for bringing my boy back.”
“I wouldn’t dream of letting him get hurt…”
She smiled, and hugged Treech who immediately hugged her back, crying with her.
“Oh my sweet boy… I’m so glad your home,” she whispered.
She took a step back and looked at the two of you.
“You two look… as close as you did when you were young… but…” she mumbled.
You blushed, looking away.
She grabbed your both of your hands. She had realized.
“Hm… so, you finally realized it?” She smiled.
“Ma, I knew for a while it’s just… I..”
“Well, this is exciting! (Y/N), dear, when do you go back to the Capitol?” She asked, looking to you.
There was a small silence before you smiled brightly.
“I’m… never going back.”
———
The three of you walked to his family’s cabin. You remembered the dirt roads and pathways.
You were getting sideways glances and dirty looks as you walked past people. They thought you were Capitol. And who could blame them. It’s not like you dressed like them. And the bright white shirt gave it away.
Clinging onto Treech’s sleeve as you walked through town was the only comfort you hand.
When you entered his cabin you sighed happily. It was closer to the edge of the woods than the others, being one of the oldest cabins in seven. And it was full of memories.
“Now, when did you two… give the rings back… I see you’ve grown into them,” she laughed, a bit giddy at the fact.
You looked down at you hands, the rings that used to be on necklaces now placed on each respective hand.
You blushed, a bit embarrassed at this.
“Well… we gave them back to each other after the games… at her house… and it doesn’t mean-“
“Oh, I’m not dumb Treech. I know what givin’ those rings mean. And it’s ok. I’m excited to have somethin’ to look forward to,” she smiled. “Your father went off to work, but he’ll be excited to know of it… Dear, do you have a place to stay?”
You nodded.
“Um yes I do. I was fortunate enough to have someone in the Capitol who is… my keeper of sorts. He’s helped and is going to help with some of the things back in the Capitol,” you answered.
“Well your parents must have been so sad at you leavin’ I couldn’t imagine,” she sighed sadly.
“Oh… well they don’t know. Nor would they care… um Ma isn’t the same woman you remember… and father changed completely… so I… don’t think they’ll miss it,” you explained.
His mother sighed, nodding her head.
“I told him he was going to lose the things he loved the most if he continued on the path he was on… don’t worry dear. Now.. if you two want you can go to this place you’re going to or you can stay. You can stay here as long as you need, until its ready… I take it you won’t mind sharing a bed with him?” She teased, winking at you.
“Ma!”
You giggled at Treech’s outburst and how he was hiding his face in his hands.
“I don’t mind at all,” you smiled.
