actually minerva should be older than riddle according to the fact she is involved in the grindelwald era. jkr sucks with numbers so i dont think we should accept mcgonagall's canon birthdate if shes a teacher in dates where she shouldn't even have been born. if my maths is good, which honestly i wouldn't trust it. minerva was born in late 1800s and didnt get to teach riddle.

What the hell happened to Mitski?

someone accused her of having kept a CHILD SLAVE in a trunk in her university dorm room when she was 19 and also leading a sex trafficking ring. the girl who made the accusation kept adding progressively more and more absurd stuff to the callout every few hours until it was this elaborate wattpad story about how mitski had war criminal parents who altered the internet to disguise her real identity and how the accuser was secretly an informant for the FBI when she was 14 and got pistol whipped in an FBI fight and just more and more stuff. mitski herself had to step in and say it wasn’t true. it was literally qanon conspiracy theory hoax tier shit. 

the accuser later admitted to having made it up during a psychotic episode, and people found her reddit where months earlier, she had made numerous posts about how she regularly has episodes where she, for days, believes untrue things about being in the center of conspiracy theories. it later came out that she had never even met mitski, and was nowhere near the concert where she originally claimed said child slave abduction happened. but some people still believe it to this day and accuse anyone who points out how absolutely absurd the whole thing was of being celebrity worshippers who hate abuse victims. it’s nuts

God, as somebody that grew up in a largely jewish community, holocaust denial is like... so fucking weird.

Because I don’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t terrified of swastika’s, including when I was so young that I didn’t even know what a swastika was.

Because it’s such a strangely specific feeling to be born in the wake of a tragedy so massive that you can still feel it’s reverberations and were born with a weird sense of survivors guilt that will shadow you forever

Because when we were younger and our parents refused to tell us exactly what the holocaust was, we would trade our grandparents horrific experiences like they were scary stories across the camp fire, repeating them over and over to ourselves and eachother so we could figure out what it all meant.

Because I’d see those books with grey photos of Auschtwitz prisoners on the cover and feel like they were looking straight fucking at me.

Because every single Yom HaShoah you’d hear grade school children get up and say “my grandmother was the only one left of her family” or “they barely got out before it started” or “they managed to hide in an attic for months on end” or “my great grandmother managed to jump off one of the trains with her daughter in her arms” or “my grandfather has numbers on his arms but he won’t talk about it” or “my great aunt was shot just before the liberation so she couldn’t get out,” like it was normal.

Because we were always taught to run if we were in a group of non-jews that started making nazi jokes, to laugh along and then take the fuck off to stay safe.

Because the question always lingered over our heads, “what if it happens again? what if it happens to us?”

.... and them some stupid fucking college age white trash dickhead stands up and says “it didn’t happen” or “it wasn’t that bad” and I just can’t... fathom that? Like how the fuck wasn’t this part of your life? How is this not etched into your bones?

And its because it’s not. Like people didn’t grow up with this shit, some people can afford to deny the holocaust and deny antisemitism because it won’t hurt them.

It’s just... fucking wild.

not to be that person but okay if remus lupin forgot to take his wolfsbane because he was stressed (for not telling Dumbledore the serial killer on the run that was his former friend knew all the ways to Hogwarts and was an illegal animagus while also trying to teach Harry to protect himself to some degree while keeping an eye on him kinda and making Snape uncomfortable for acting like he hadn't played a part in the heavy bullying he suffered during his school years) then okay...

i guess he just doesnt do well under stress but again, he's a werewolf and has been once since he was a child. he should be more responsible because im sure he wouldnt want to put the lives of other people (like he did with all the kids at Hogwarts that night as he did with the students that were in the school during his time as a student and Hogsmeade population as he ran loose with his friends all jolly) in danger.

maybe he shouldn't have ever been a teacher. and again, dumbledore was well aware something WOULD happen because the position is cursed so probably didn't have many expectations for the guy either. (which is shitty from the old geezer)
