“If I am killed, write about me and tell the world about my dreams”
The martyr, Reem Mahmoud Abu Daya. Reem's greatest fear was not death itself, but rather being remembered only as a statistic after being killed in the Israeli aggression.
She often told her friend Mohammed, "If I am killed, write about me and tell the world about my dreams. Tell them that I had undergone LASIK surgery a few months ago and started seeing Gaza with my own two eyes.
Tell them that I want to buy a camera to capture the beauty of Gaza."
Reem Mahmoud Abu Daya is not just a number; she will be remembered. Reem, along with her family, was martyred in an Israeli airstrike on January 7, 2024.
She stresses to not stop making noise because when noise stops nobody will care about Gaza anymore, they'll be normalized to it. That protests need to be bigger and to have more of them to "keep fighting, keep organizing more and more"
And that's she's lost everything; she doesn't even have clothes.
Here is the last part I recorded with her updates from Rafah
This ended as gunshots are heard in the background and she loses connection again. TW for that.
This is your reminder that she is in Rafah and it's a designated safe zone. She goes where Israel says it's safe.
You have to share a bed with the last character in your saved images.

Don't ask why I saved this. LMAO
I feel slight fear over the thought of sleeping near him- feel like he'd just shove me out of the fuckin' bed. I'd get wing whacked. I'll take the floor I suppose.
Tatreez (Arabic: تطريز) is a type of traditional Palestinian embroidery. Tatreez uses traditional cross-stitch embroidery and is practiced largely among women. The craft was originally practiced in rural areas of Palestine, but is now common across the Palestinian diaspora. Historically, each village in Palestine had their own tatreez patterns. The landscape was a major source of inspiration for the patterns and motifs, which speaks to the variation in style that was common to see among all of the different tatreez expressions that were particular to each Palestinian village.
After the violent displacement and dispossession of Palestinians in 1948, people were living together in refugee camps. The different styles of tatreez became less distinct and have continued to evolve with the diaspora. Following 1948, tatreez evolved to reflect the experiences of Palestinians. Palestinian women began to incorporate the Palestinian flag and its colors into their tatreez as a means of resistance to the occupation of Palestine. Consequently, tatreez became an expression of the identity, heritage and resistance of Palestinian women and their dedication to preserve their ancient culture.
There is now an article discussing the recent attacks utilizing a chemical agent on Colombia University’s grounds.
The article interviewed a victim of the attack that had to seek medical attention after the fact. She is still experiencing the affects of it more than three days after being sprayed with the substance.
Layla and other students have reported that the school is not taking this seriously, other than banning the unidentified (to school admin, the victims have already identified their assailants!) perpetrators from the campus. Accommodations are not even being given to victims that have had to go to the ER and are suffering debilitating symptoms.
I’ll be keeping a lookout for Layla. She lost multiple family members in the IOF bombardments across Gaza, and now she has to deal with this! Colombia University’s administrative staff, President..whoever else needs to have some heavy pressure applied to them for such obvious injustices.
