Witch Tip #138
If you don’t have a physical picture of someone to use in a spell, take one from their social media and save it to your phone. Instead of burning or burying it, just delete it.

Ruin - The Lovers - Ace of Cups
Make it a point to be conscious of your thought patterns today. Observe everything that goes in your head.
Accept them for what they are without judgement and embrace them with open arms, and then let go.
They do not control you.

Candle Magic Spells and Colors
Tumblr media
What Is Candle Magic?
Candle magic is the practice of burning candles as part of rituals designed to accomplish a special goal. Spells to attract a lost lover or bring good fortune are examples of candle magic.
Casting candle magic spells is common in the Wiccan religion, although many other types of people are interested in candle magic as well. Spells can be cast for yourself or on behalf of someone else, although it is never recommended to cast a spell on someone without their permission. Candle magic is white magic and not used for evil or unsavory purposes. The Wiccan Rede “An harm to none do what thou wilt” should always be remembered when considering the use of candle magic spells and colors.
Basic Candle Magic Spells and Colors
Although people interested in casting spells with candles sometimes disagree on what color candle is best for a particular spell, the following list serves as a good general guide for selecting candles for your rituals:
Red: A red candle is used to represent the element of fire. It is common in spells to maintain health, increase strength, promote passion, or employ defensive magic.
Pink: Pink candles are most commonly used in rituals to promote self-love. However, they are also ideal for spells relating to weddings and emotional unions. The color symbolizes relaxation, love, and friendship.
Orange: An orange candle is used to attract specific influences or objects when casting a candle magic spell. It promotes energy.
Yellow: Representing the element of air, yellow candles are recommended for spells which are intended to heighten visualization abilities. Yellow is also the color of intelligence, confidence, and eloquence.
Green: Naturally, green is the color of money and prosperity. However, this candle color can also be used in spells for fertility, healing, growth, or abundance.
Blue: A blue candle represents the element of water. It is used in spells to affect sleep or to awaken the psychic mind.
Purple: Purple candles enhance spiritual activities and increase your magical powers. In combination with blue candles, they can be used in healing rituals.
White: White is the color of protection and purification. Linked with the moon, white candles contain all colors and are used for positive purposes.
Black: Black candles absorb negativity. Black is the absence of color and the representative of outer space. Black candles are often associated with evil magic, but this is not true. Black candles can be used for positive rituals such as those to absorb illness or stop bad habits.
Brown: Brown candles are burned in combination with other candles when spells invoke animals. For this reason, people interested in candle magic spells and colors often keep several brown candles on hand.
Using Essential Oils for Candle Spells
While choosing the right color of candle for your spell is important, you can also use essential oils to give your spells a magical boost. For example, cinnamon can be used in spells to attract a lover or enhance the romance in your relationship. A drop of pure essential oil placed on the top of an unscented candle will release its fragrance when the candle is lit.

mythology meme | Slavic gods & goddesses - Evening Star
In Slavic mythology, the Zorya are the two guardian goddesses, known as the Auroras or as the Morning Star and the Evening Star. Both sisters serve the sun god Dažbog, who is in some myths described as their father. The Morning Star opens the gates to his palace each morning for the sun-chariot’s departure. At dusk, the Evening Star closes the gates once more after his return. They guard and watch over the doomsday hound, Simargl, who is chained to the star Polaris in the constellation Ursa Minor, the “little bear”. If the chain ever breaks, the hound will devour the constellation and the universe will end.
The Evening Star is Zorya Vechernyaya (from Russian vecher, meaning “evening”), a goddess of dusk who is depicted as a fully armed and courageous warrior. She was associated with the planet Mercury. Some myths cast both Zorya as virgin goddesses who had the specific job of grooming their father’s white horses, but other accounts say they married the moon god Myesyats and gave birth to the stars. Ancient Slavs would pray to Zorya Vechernyaya each evening as the sun set.

Rękawka - annual festival celebrated in Kraków, southern Poland on the first Tuesday after Easter.
Roots of these celebrations can be traced to pre-Christian Poland from the early medieval era. During the festival people gather around the Krakus Mound (one of 5 historical artificial mounds in Kraków). It’s a presumed resting place of king Krak, who was the semi-legendary founder of the city of Kraków who lived in c. 8th century. Nowadays this festival became popular among reenactors and people interested in old-Slavic mythology and culture.

Devana or Dziewanna is the Slavic equivalent of the Roman goddess Diana, mentioned by 15th century Polish historian Jan Długosz in Annales seu cronici incliti regni Poloniae(History of Poland). Her name, though similar to Diana’s, is apparently derived from Slavic word that means ‘virgin’ or 'maiden’ (dziewa, dziewica) or else from the Praindoeuropean *dewas (“god, wonder”) root (see Deus). Wiccan Wishing Spell
This is an easy wishing spell that should be performed right before you go to bed.
You will need: A candle Pen and paper Choose a candle colour which is appropriate for the type of wish (see the candle magick article for ideas). This should be a new candle which you are only going to use for this wishing spell.
Before starting, get clear on your wish, and write it down on the piece of paper. Put the paper underneath the candle. Now take a few minutes to meditate and clear your mind of any stray thoughts. Light your candle and concentrate on your wish. While you stare into the flame, visualise it coming true. How would you feel if the wish came true? Use all your senses to build a vivid picture of wish fulfilment.
When you have visualised for 5-10 minutes, take the piece of paper from underneath the candle and burn it while saying the following words:
“Candle shining in the night With your flame enchanted, By the powers of magic might May my wish be granted. When the candle sheds its gleam At the mystic hour, Let fulfillment of my dream Gather secret power. Flame of magic, brightly burn, Spirit of the fire. Let the wheel of fortune turn, Grant me my desire. One, two, three – so mote it be!”

Messages/Prayers to the Deceased
Want to send a message/prayer to someone who just passed away?
Open a window and light an unused white candle (for peace and complete dedication to them) as you look into the flames, think of your heartfelt emotions and the message you want to give them. When you’re done, imagine that the smoke is carrying your message out the window to the deceased. You could leave the candle until it burns out but if you decide that, keep an eye on it. Or you could use a candle snuffer. For some people, blowing out the candle is equivalent to chasing away the spirit.

For Emily //       T  h  e     G  i  r  l  s     o  f     H  o  g  w  a  r  t  s    (photos not mine)
Within the Hogwarts library, old books can be found on the beginnings of magic. For some students, “A History of Magic” is more than sufficient. But some others delve further, craving more of how their world came to be and seeking knowledge about the essence dancing through their veins.  In a secluded section that seems to have its own pulsing aura, there are books detailing ancient forms of witchcraft. The books whisper to each other when someone passes, and if one listened closely enough, it would be heard that the voices are female. These writings focus on an instinctive sisterhood, holding the secrets to traditions now considered antiquated. When a few young female students discover these books, which are brimming with both tales and instructions, they decide to form a school club. This group, which has many titles but has earned the nickname, “The Reawakening,” welcomes anyone to join them in learning more about their ancestors. Before too long, they’re drawing on the forms of magic expounded upon in the books, holding meetings in which they communicate to the magic residing within each other and combine their power to achieve new feats. Girls from all the houses participate, forming new bonds of friendship and dictating their discoveries and experiments in their own book- a book which will one day have its own place on the Hogwarts shelves.
