I've always imagined Alex's psychometry to be glowy and blue and sort of electric and ephemeral.

happy STS!! a slightly grimmer one today - what can make you abandon a project? do you ever truly abandon projects or do you just shelve them for later?
Happy STS, got a bit of a back log on these so please pretend it's Saturday for a moment!
What can make me abandon a project?
To answer the second question first, I tend not to ever truly abandon something. Most of my stuff just goes on a shelf till I feel inspiration to get back to it, or when I realize it can be combined with another work.
There is only one project I would say I'm never coming back to, but that's a slight untruth. Demis was the name of it, short for 'Demi-Mortals'; it was a pathfinder campaign about Super heroes in an industrial world. I think it could be considered my first push into properly writing my own stuff, and seeing other people actively enjoying it.
That said, there definitely came a point where it become less fun and more work; anxious work. I didn't want the story to disappoint anyone, I wanted the story to constantly top what it previously did. Eventually I had to abandon it because it became too much for me.
Now, I say it's a slight untruth because Demis effectively transformed over time into Lexical. They share themes, world building, concepts; and it's now no longer tied to Pathfinder! (despite my love for it, the game is very cumbersome).
So, I drop things when they start to hurt me. But even then, they tend to come back. Thanks for the ask!

Baguette Update! Sunset Vol. 2 is coming!
Tumblr media
We’re so excited to share Volume Two: High Noon with all of you! Buckle up, things are about to start taking off.
The bi-weekly updates with long issues made sense for the slower pacing of the first volume, but we feel this would not benefit the second volume in the same way. So starting May 3, the issues will be a little shorter, but will be released weekly! Thanks for sticking with us so far and we hope you enjoy where the story is going!
The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. -Robert Frost
(Shameless plug: Patreon subscribers get early access plus exclusive extras if you wanna check us out or share it around! If that's not your jam, you can read it for free too!)

Sunset Volume 2. High Noon will begin posting starting April 26th for Patreon and May 3rd for general audiences!
Sunset taglist. I try to keep it to release updates, long excerpts, and character profiles. Please comment/dm for +/-

This prompt has been brought to you by someone who wishes to remain anonymous; thank you very much! Who should open their eyes? What will they see? Will the new sight be beautiful, a surprise for the ages? Or the most gruesome thing to ever exist? We don't know, but you can! If you write it down, so go, go, go, go!

So, here's some bits from the first draft of Lawman of Amberhill
There are many ways to leave Amber Hill, those that tend to not come back take the road. So I took a path through the woods. Winter proper had not started yet; no snow, but the forest was mostly made up of bare branches and dry dirt. My mind drifted to my siblings. When we were much younger we explored all over. Not a single inch of this town was left unseen by us. It felt safe back then, no matter where we went. For whatever reason the concept of something bad happening to a group of five kids seemed impossible. In my mind's ear I could hear us taking this same path. Joking, laughing, pointing out whatever caught our eyes. A drastic contrast to what the forest was like today. The only sound I could hear was my own footsteps. No small animals, or birds singing; even the wind was too scared to make a noise. I chalked it up to my presence.
To be honest, Desi stole most of my go to tags; so I'm going to leave this tag open and assume the universe will sort itself out.

Tell me when you get bored. A story about doses. [x]
I posted this on twitter and had a variety of aggressive ableism thrown my way.
This is a story about changing what I can in spite of what I cannot for the comfort of my loved ones. The thing that others find to be hurtful about me is that I like to spend time in silent solitude. People who love me often feel hurt that I tend to solve my own problems instead of leaning on them.
When we spend too much time together, people find my neutrality to be concerning, and it becomes too much for people to be unable to read me.
To show the people I love that I enjoy their company in ways they can understand, I pool my energy together to be high-energy, peppy, and social. Since this is not my natural state of being, it takes effort, which can only be expended in small doses. I amplify the things people like in me while filtering out everything they dislike about me when I am in their company.
I change my behaviors for those I love, but at the end of the day, I cannot change my neutral state of being, which is the thing that they want most out of me.
This is a story about me accommodating people in the best way I know how, not the other way around. I would truly appreciate it if people don't misconstrue this anecdote as me asking for dismissal of hurtful behavior when in reality, people find hurt in the fact that I simply exist, and I must change for them.

I have been having some lighter-lifting art time recently, so here's a little light-weight art dump of Sunset OCs. Sunny is a mouse shifter and member of The Church and the goat is his tattoo design. (It is patently absurd that I did that, given how tiny his throat tattoo is in that drawing.) There's also a sketch of Emmett and one of Kelly, a Neptune cleanup agent with an enhanced senses knack, who has to wear glasses to make his vision worse and wear earplugs to help with sensory overwhelm. It's gonna be a while til you meet most of these peeps, but I wanted to draw 'em anyway.
