Not trusting Snow after knowing him for a while? Now there was something she could relate to. She practically scoffed when the other said that which was the closest she'd get to her natural emotions at this point. Even if she truly didn't feel them the same way, she had the memory of how she did feel at one time. "You're telling me," she replied, rubbing her temple as though Snow was probably this constant headache to her.
Then the other's question hit her ears, and she took only a moment to consider what exactly to tell the other. Could she trust them with the information of her situation? Even if she could, should she even tell her? "That it will be dangerous." Thank you Sergeant Obvious. She spoke again very quickly after, knowing that part was painfully known. "We don't have a lot of time, but... there are souls that are lost that must be saved... and I have to save them." Had the other heard the story traveling through Yusnaan of the Savior? If she had, what did she think of it? She was about to find out.

It had been a bit since Lightning had made her way back to the bustling city of Yusnaan, or at least, it felt that way to her. By this point she had no sense of what real time was anymore, but that may be that the whole… universe (?) had lost that too. It was about noon if she had to guess with the height of the sun in the sky as she had settled down for a moment at a restaurant there that she had grown maybe even a little fond of since she had come here.
For the moment, she had kept her head held down yet her eyes wandered about always looking for the next person who may need assistance. She could come off as overly caring sometimes because of it in the moment, but it was more like she knew that she had to and had learned over time how to manipulate a situation if needed.
That’s when she caught sight of the new face – Someone that in her many times visiting, she couldn’t remember. Getting up from her table and leaving payment, she stepped out to approach her. “Hey,” she spoke calmly, nodding in her direction as her eyes trailed for a brief moment to observe her. “So what’s your story?” she asked, the expression she wore not changing for a second. “I don’t believe I’ve seen you around before.”

“Yeah, beats me how all of that really happened. I always did find it hard to understand how or why Snow does what he does.” She supposed maybe all these years chasing after Serah had driven him mad, but maybe they were all mad by this point. Their ends should have come to pass several times over now, and just all that anger could do nothing but fester. “It’s impossible to reason with him as it is without him holding a title like that.”
While Lightning wasn’t the best with emotions in general, she had gotten well accustomed to reading that of others to some degree. The other seemed genuinely vested in this. She couldn’t remember her sister mentioning her, but Serah was friends with anyone she met really. It was a trait that Lightning could both admire and get frustrated with from time to time. “Alright. This is not going to be an easy battle to be a part of. That’s something to be aware of going into this,” she replied after a moment of thinking to herself.

“Tsch... yeah. You’re telling me. Back when I met Snow, he was the leader of some resistance back home... No Obligations, Rules, or Authority. NORA for short... Patron Saint really has an opposite ring to it,” Lightning replied, sounding irritated as always with him. When it boiled right down to it, she wanted to help him for her sister at this point... as his... sister-to-be, even if it pained her to say that sometimes.
What the other had said about her sister didn’t surprise her either. She had been able to catch glimpses of her sister across time during her eternal war with Caius. “I will find her. I will bring her back. I won’t let this whole thing be for nothing. How much time, effort— suffering that everyone has gone through to bring her home. I will not rest until that happens.” Her anger got the best of her in her words even to this day. She was sure this person didn’t want to hear it, especially when she had watched Serah die with her own eyes, but she was too impulsive for her own good sometimes.

// So my grandmother who had been in the hospital for three weeks just passed away early this morning -- Well, it was about 24 hours ago now. 4:30 am EST on the 22nd was when I got the news. My family wants me to put a tribute video together by this weekend, and I haven’t been able to take a moment to just process it. I’ve been doing this like numb crying of a few tears every few hours, and I wish I could cry for real and get it over with. It doesn’t feel real yet.
... I’m just over this year at this point. If it’s not one thing it’s another, and this is just, the worst.
I think the thing that’s made me cry the hardest was the realization that she wouldn’t see her next birthday. It would have been her 75th. I’m going to be 25, my dad will be 50, she would have been 75, and her mom is turning 100 next year. All 4 generations a perfect 25 apart. It was such a big thing in my family. Everyone says I have to have a kid at 25. I’m not planning to, but it’s always been a thing that my family loves talking about.
I’ll get through it I’m sure, but it’s one of the hardest things I’ve had to go through up to this point aside from the death of my other grandmother back when I was like 14. I will admit, I’m honestly not really okay right now, but I will be.
I’m not a very spiritual person, but if there’s one thing I can hope for it’s that Granny and Papa are back together again after all these years happy out there somewhere.
-- I love you, Granny. Rest well wherever you are.

From what the other said, it sounded to Lightning that she had also been pulled into the journey that her sister had to take for them to get this far. One that she knew was necessary, but one that she almost felt bad for since it was the very thing to take her sister’s life. Her expression seemed to fall a fraction as she looked the other over. Even if she had nearly forgotten how to truly feel the emotions herself, she could have swore her heart almost ached every time her sister was mentioned.
“Skuld,” she acknowledged aloud finally, though it sounded as though her mind was caught elsewhere. “Yes, Serah is my little sister. She’s talked about me?” She couldn’t help but be a little bit curious what the other said. The last thing she said directly to her wasn’t exactly pleasant so she couldn’t help but wonder how her opinion had been affected through everything they had been through. “Let me guess. ‘She’s so stubborn’, right?” It then dawned on her that Skuld had been looking for the others. “Yeah, Snow is here... The Patron Saint of Yusnaan...” she continued with sigh and a visible eyeroll. The two tended to butt heads like they were siblings themselves, but she intended him no ill will by this point. “I can take you to him, but I’m not so sure he wants to talk about it.”

Lightning wasn’t sure what to expect from the other’s answers, but it certainly wasn’t that. Immediately her eyes widened a bit as she spoke under her breath. “...Serah...” It wasn’t just her, but every last name the other had spoken, she knew. Then again, as far as she knew, everyone else was still around in some fashion. Serah was gone. Everything the other said was something she could confirm herself. She was friends with them?
“You knew my sister.” Her statement was much more direct this time, and less taken aback. Maybe this individual could be a helpful ally in all of this? Clearly she had been involved in some degree if she had been on that ship that day. She paused for a moment, thinking over what exactly to tell her from here. Could she truly trust her? That had yet to be seen.
“They call this place Yusnaan. I’ve seen both Noel and Sazh recently enough, but they aren’t in this town. Snow’s here though if you knew him.” To her knowledge, Snow had left a while before Serah had begun her journey, but she probably at least talked about him.” Realizing she was getting a bit ahead of herself, she interjected her own statement. “--Oh, and call me Lightning. I didn’t get your name either.”

Lightning tilted her head as if she had been listening intently to what the other had said, though she was unsure of what to make of the words. After everything that she had been through, she couldn’t place if she had actually seen her before or not. That being said, she did just confirm that she hadn’t been here before. “Tck. You and everyone else I’ve spoken to,” she responded, her eyes drifting away as she thought the whole thing over. No one seemed to understand the gravity of the entire situation other than herself, and maybe the other warriors who had fought alongside her during her journey.
“What is it that you do know?” It was blunt, but not really rude. It was more like an awful curiosity as she tried to learn as much as she could about each person to be able to fix this mess, and stop time from literally ceasing to exist. “You just woke up here one day? Do you remember where  you came from?” She had about a million more questions, but it was a start.

As Lightning saw the balls of fire crash into the Enforcers, she did not hesitate another second to run forward. With the two grouped fairly close together, she swept her blade across in a Blitz style attack before focusing more directly on one with another slash of her blade.
Together, the two made fairly quick work of the two soldiers though not without stirring up a little attention. As they fell, she flipped her blade back into it’s holster at her back. When she approached the other, she gave him a nudge as if urging him to run with her.
“Introductions later. Move. Now that they know we’re here, there will be more.” Without another word, she began to take off looking for some sort of alley to duck behind so that they could plan their next move. Looking back over her shoulder to check that the other was still following, she spoke again quiet and decisively. “What happened back there?”

Light walked through the town, the sound of metal clinking together following her as her weapon moved in its holster. This town didn’t know her as well, so she could move through with relative ease as much as her rose pink hair would allow her to go unnoticed. Being as paranoid as she was, she glanced from side to side, watching her surroundings looking somewhat lost.

Lightning approached the large structure that appeared to be a castle of sorts. It was enormous in comparison to the rest of the buildings in town, and she always was driven by her curiosity. The most curious thing to her though had to be how everything appeared to be run by animals. It was less common though not unheard of where she hailed from.
“Hello?” she called out as she moved slowly, though with a purpose. Her expression remained rather neutral as she wasn’t the best at expressing her own emotions, and her words were kept short for now. She wasn’t exactly the most trusting either. Those around seemed friendly enough though so for now, her weapon was kept in its holster on her back as she folded her arms.
“Oh-- Hello,” she spoke again, a little surprised as she looked down at the mouse who appeared appearing to wear proper garb. “The name’s Lightning. Just who are you?”
