A short poem about Strahd's descent into evil.
_
It's him or me, said the boy when he took his first life in a war his father forced him into.
It's them or me, said the young warrior, bloodied and bruised as he willed himself to fight on.
It's them or me, said the bold prince riding to meet his enemy, sword held high in defiance.
It's them or me, said the noble prince, valiantly fighting five to one, saving the kind strangers who cared for him.
It's them or me, said the prince, as he ordered the deaths of his prisoners.
It's him or me, said the prince, before slaying the noble dragon unprovoked.
It's them or me, said the conquerer, crushing the last of his foes without mercy.
It's him or me, said the conquerer when he claimed his castle.
It's them or me, said the king, keeping peace and order with a strong hand.
It's him or me, said the envious brother to his own reflection.
It's him or you, said the darkness who had been watching, and waiting.
It's him or me, said the best friend who heard something he shouldn't have.
It was him or me, said the king, the conquerer, the prince, the warrior, the boy, as he drank the blood of those who loved him.
It's me, he said to the horrified bride.
_
It's them or me, said the vampire, over another victim's body.
It was always me, he whispers to the bats in his crypt. It was always me.

As the game’s gone on, there’s been a small ship forming between @wintert-ide’s character Bell and Solomon. It’s a VERY unconventional one, but one that fits the very strange place they’re in and the very strange people they are.
Heavily inspired by the song “Meet Me in the Woods” by Lord Huron

Got far enough in the game where Solomon got himself an update. Discovered in-game he’s some sort of undead, his neck gouged and head almost being lobbed off by the headless horseman. Obviously hasn’t done great things for his mental state.
Original ref w/ neck wound below cut vvv

One of my favorite moments from the game, when the ranger’s bird ended up playing better chess than the (technically) smartest character in the group, Belladonna (Tabaxi Wizard/Cleric). Solomon takes chess very seriously, no matter the opponent.

Are you going to post more about your Curse of Strahd game? I saw some of your cards and Im super interested in your party!
Oh my gosh, hey! Yeah actually, I’m in the middle of doing a campaign recap since my group has been playing for awhile! You can expect to see that soonish, aka as soon as I get it condensed enough haha. Here’s a doodle of the gang to hold you over for now tho! And you can find more of the game under my #sabr tag! Thanks for having an interest, means a lot to us!

Some character top-down art for mine and @risarambles’s character Raisa (Raven Swarmkeeper Ranger). Then silly Solomon emotes for the group discord ☺️

Sitting on the couch with my significant other in comfortable silence. Him out of nowhere with no context:
“I don’t get it. Why don’t you just cast Remove Curse?”
Me: “Remove Curse? On what?”
Him: “Strahd! Remove Curse on Strahd! It’s called Curse of Strahd, so Remove Curse and take that bitch out!”

(So so sorry for the very late reply! I missed the notification!) I seriously love the idea of novelizing your game!!! That sounds so so fun! I will for sure check it out now that you’re writing it!
The sheer difficulty of trying not to run into Curse of Strahd spoilers
The way our DM is running this CoS campaign is by having us players create Faerûn fantasy PCs that end up spirited away into Barovia. Our characters thrown into unfamiliar lands where they are complete strangers trapped in the mists.
What brings us to Barovian lands are relics.
We players know our relics (those of us who have chosen to walk into Barovia with them) and they were picked and bestowed by the DM based off a series of questions we answered and the backstories we've crafted.
These relics clearly play an important role and I'm trying so hard not run into answers of what they mean. Walking into this as blind as my PC is the goal.
Tell me without spoiler
Did your PCs come from distant lands as well or did you start in Barovia? Did you start the campaign with relics? Or did your characters find them later on in the story?
