Moons, Holidays, and Retrogrades 2022
Figured I'd get a head start on this since I'm taking tonight's full moon as an opportunity to clean/cleanse my apartment, have a little wine, and update my calendar with witchy events through the end of next year. :>
As always when I make these kinds of posts, if the peak of the full or new moon is in the wee hours of the morning on one day, I enter it into my calendar as the day before, since that is the night I will be celebrating even though it technically falls on the next day.
Sources this year are my trusty Simple Moon Phase Calendar app for Android, www.pagangrimoire.com, and horoscopes.astro-seek.com

New Moon 🌑 in Virgo
The New Moon in Virgo is associated with Common sense; it governs how you practically deal with everyday affairs. If your life is not in order, sit down and put it in order. But, if your life is running smoothly, a mundane task like pouring coffee will seem even sweeter.
💬You are chatty, and communicating feelings come a little easier. Your emotions are rationalized. This is an ideal time to start journaling.
🥗The body should be your focus right now. Anxieties and disturbances are amplified and expressed through the body. Exercise and pay close attention to what you are eating. This is the time to get your eating in order.
☾ △ ⛢ • ☉△ ⛢
The Moon and Sun trine Uranus.
🙅♀️You have the feeling to rebel and release yourself from parental programming. Issues surrounding your parents from childhood may arise. Analyze your emotions and release the past with the New Moon energy.
✨This is not the time to worry about the past. You have prospects coming your way.
🛸 You are seeking independence and may need some space. You desire to be free and your own person. Who are you without your parents’ and society’s influence? You want to be recognized for your individuality. You have a desire to be unique.
🥱Just like the Moon, your moods are changing, but with Uranus’s help, your feelings may be somewhat erratic and change more abruptly. Boredom can easily creep up on us during this time, and inconsistency can occur.
🧘Your desire for change is strong. This is the time to release unwanted energy and focus on the new possibilities ahead—Aquarius, which Uranus rules, governs hopes and wishes. The Moon and Sun trine Uranus make this an adequate time to manifest your long-term goals and release any negative patterns that may be withholding you.

Lammas or Lughnasadh 2021 is almost here. Sunday, August 1st is the start of the harvest festivals. We celebrate the grain harvest! In Hawaii we don’t have harvests like the continent so I’ll be celebrating the the fire festivals. I don’t have any way of making bread in my house so a candle will be lit in my home this year. Maybe next year I can get my friends and family to join in a festival of sorts with picnic, bbqing, and games. They won’t have to know it’s because I’m doing it to fulfill my witchy needs.
Bonfires are a symbolic part of the harvest season, but be safe out there, it’s been a weird summer. We don’t want to burn our homes and communities down.
Bake cakes and breads, decorate your altars, have a bonfire, and gather safely this harvest season. Mabon is right around the corner!
Here are some rituals you can do for Lammas:
- Finish a project you’ve been putting off
- Bake bread with seasonal herbs
- Hold a potluck dinner
- Decorate your home with things you’ve made
- Harvest from your garden
- Focus on protection magick
- Take a walk through nature
- Make a list of things you’re grateful for
