Hi, if you're still accepting commissions, I've been trying to look around for a group that I could commission for Beet the Vandel Buster. As a series, it's by the author and artist duo from Dragon Quest's manga, and while it was licensed by VIZ back in the 2000s before they entered a decade-long hiatus, they've since dropped it and now nobody is translating it. So I'd like to ask, are you open to scanlate the remainder?

Hi, I found ch1 of 'Our Youth Isn't Dead' and I wanted to read the other chapters but I can't find them... I saw that you guys did the first chapter and were planning on translating the other chapters (I found it on 25th of september 2022 so I don't know when you started the translations). Do you still plan on releasing them or should I stop looking? I really wanted to read it because it looked interesting :')

I would say stop looking. Akui's (our group translator/typesetter) been mia on the internet for years by now and we haven't worked on any manga since then. Sorry ;;;

Another life update (I guess)

Man, it’s been a while since I last posted here. Hello again!

As of now I’m in the first year of my master degree, and while things have gotten easier when it comes to uni, it’s also gotten a lot more hectic outside of that.

I’m starting my first job basically. You see, my uni requires me to do an internship (and I got this one-month internship in this one international company... and guess what? They extended my contract.

So yeah. It’s crazy. But this also affects my commissions.

To put it simply, between work and uni, I don’t get as much free time as I used to, a long time ago. And when you come back from 8 hours of sitting in front of your computer for work, you can’t really find it in yourself to do even more work at home.

That means that I’m closing my commissions for the time being. At least for the people I haven’t started translating for. As for the ones I already started working for, I’m doing baby steps with the translations, but know that I’ll eventually finish the translations and send them two you (I don’t know why I’m speaking in plural, there’s just one person). That or I can return your money if you change your mind.

And what does my job mean for this blog? Well, if you’ve been following me for a while, you know I haven’t posted translations since like.... a year ago. 

I started this blog as a way to improve my Japanese and it ended up being a way for me to get pocket money. Maybe one day I’ll come back here. At least I hope so. This summer I want to start actual Japanese courses (I’m self-taught) and get a certification (wait for me JLPT). Can’t wait for that.

Do you allow your translations to be used for analyses?

Hello there!

As long as you credit me for the translation and don't use huge chunks of text for the analyses (I assume it will be the 'one-two sentences from here, two more a few paragraphs down, one more from later on and the rest is your train of thoughts' type of analysis), then yeah, it's fine.

If you copy paste like entire paragraphs repeatedly and those end up being the majority of your analysis, then no, I don't allow it because it's not any different from reposting.

Hello again! I/m sorry for mistaking you last time. I wanna ask where can I find the Japanese raw setting of Tsukihana Kagura, Origin and 2P Lockout? I search here and there on the internet but still see no sights of them...

It took me a few minutes to figure out what you mean by 'Japanese raw setting', but in the end I guess you mean the pamphlets?

Usually movic organizes a sell once or twice a year (I know some pamphlets are certainly brought back during AGF), but you still have to wait until then in order to buy them (and I can't guarantee you'll be able to get all three).

If you were hoping to find scans online, then tough luck. Those pamphlets are like 100+ pages, if someone were to scan all that they're most likely crazy.

Life update

I passed! I’m done with my bachelor degree. 

Wrote a 33-pages-long thesis that gave me sleepless nights, prepared my defense, prepared this long ass program that rolls like 7 stuff at once, had my exam on 2nd of July.

And I passed.

With 9.12 out of 10.

God I’m tired.

Up next is the master’s.

Update: I managed to buy the laptop

Thank you so sooo much to all the people who helped me out! Just a few hours after I made the previous post, my old laptop decided to just stop whatever kind of startup process whatsoever, so you really helped me out (I managed to kick a bit of sense into it this morning, but even now it opens just if it wills to do so)

I can't describe how thankful I am. Really, really thankful!

Here's what I bought (with the receipt included as well)

Now I can finally keep up with my classes properly and worry about one thing less for my graduation.

In need of a new laptop

I usually don’t do this, but I reached a point where I’m really in need of help.

I’m a 3rd year student, majoring in mathematics and computer science and I’m 3 months away from graduating. And my laptop is about to die.

I bought my laptop a few years ago, a weak piece of technology, with the hope that it’s going to survive through uni. Sure, I had programming classes back then, but I could work with this laptop, I worked in laboratories more anyway. Back then we didn’t have a pandemic, I didn’t have to use it as much as I do right now.

But things twist in life and this pandemic turned all my activities online. For every single class I have to connect on some app and have 3-4 more open in the background to just be able to keep up with the professor. One year and a half of that have worn my laptop out to the point where just restarting it takes 20 minutes.

I bought a budget laptop which now is about to die.

Now I’m 3 months away from graduating and I have to write programming projects, essays, my bachelor thesis and present them, defend my thesis on a laptop which gargles if I open chrome and a second app at the same time. It’s something I can’t do on this laptop anymore.

I’m planning on buying a new laptop. One that will actually work properly through my programming adventures (and hopefully I can graduate without technical problems). I’d say I’m about 85-90% into my goal, but I still need a bit more money.

Here is my ko-fi page. You don’t have to donate if you don’t want to (it would help me a lot though, I mean it, it doesn’t matter how much you send in), but reblogging this would be a great signal boost.
