For anyone who only cares about acotar and is wondering if they need to read CC, and maybe don't want to read CC, spoilers for HOFAS below

I've read a majority of the Prythian section of HOFAS and I know when/how it ends. sjm did keep the series as separate as possible. I suspect that she had much bigger, grander plans for this crossover and pared it down quite a bit.

Bryce is only in Pythian for five days. She only has extended interactions with Nesta and Azriel, no one else. (Side note, Nesta is so, so badass in HOFAS.)

The main impact of this crossover for acotar is that Nesta has Gwydion, they better understand it and Truthteller, and they know where the fourth trove item is and what it is. They also know a lot about their history, such as the fact that Illyrians were created by the Asteri. It confirmed a lot of the things that the end of hosab told us, in terms of Fionn, Pelias, Theia, etc. We did get to see Az using his powers in a more descriptive, methodical way, which was really neat! But we will get that in his book too, so I don't think anyone is going to miss out by not reading CC.

HOFAS also takes place three months after acosf ends, not the nine months that sjm had originally said in an interview. Not sure what the implications of that are yet.

While I haven't read the whole book, I would say that it will be quite easy for sjm to write acotar5 to fill us in on how Nesta got Gwydion and the history they learned, without having to know anything about Midgard or who Bryce is, or any of that. I have a post in my drafts about how I think it could be structured narratively, and I'll post it when HOFAS is actually out.

The only victim in the pregnancy situation was feyre. That’s it. Not Rhysand. Definitely not n.esta. Feyre was the only person who was done wrong and she was the most mature person during and after the situation. Don’t take Feyres pregnancy and struggles and apply her trauma to someone else.

Why did I make this? Curiosity. And the results are…interesting.

I did not include page numbers since it looked cluttered with them, but it is color coded. Green is ACOMAF, Pink is ACOWAR, Blue is ACOFAS, and Orange is ACOSF.

13. Gwyn- Probably should be higher on this list but points for reading about smut and asking about Cassian. Learning what NOT to accept, seems like she would communicate.

12. Mor- Pillow princess. Nothing wrong with it, but that's as exciting as things ever get.

11. Elain- SORRY. I hate to do my girl like this but she can't even talk about a PERIOD without blushing. Do I think she's a secret freak? Yes. Do I think she could ever ask for what she wanted without whispering it? NO. Points for being so hot everyone is on their metaphorical knees begging for a taste.

10. Cassian- I read ACOSF. He didn't do anything groundbreaking. Most interesting thing we ever got was the information that the bat boys used to fuck in the same room. Points off for not communicating his needs during sex.

9. Tamlin- Knows where the clit is, goes down AFTER finishing. Multiple orgasms, beast form idk he deserves this spot. ANNUAL ORGY HELLO????

8. Nesta- Again, I read ACOSF. Daydreams about a threesome but gripping the headboard was as far as they ever got. Also loses points for not being honest with the person she was having sex with.

7. Tarquin- Can't prove it, but our respectful king gives off the vibes. Am aware, from cursed tags on shifting post, that my followers would let dolphin Tarquin do unspeakable things to them.

6. Rhysand- Feels like this man has had sex with men and women. Very friendly with Helion. Offered Feyre a threesome, would put all his money on his willingness to go through had she said yes. Is a crime he didn't, tbh. Seems game for anything. Down for a lot more than eating someone out in paint.

5. Emerie- Something about a woman with a sword. Something about a woman who can carry their injured pal up a mountainside. BDE. Cannot prove she's fucking wild. It's just a feeling I have.

4. Azriel- Mr. Big wingspan himself. Mr. Doesn't need poetry to get laid. Have seen zero proof of these claims so it's just the fandoms word against the text. Has been pining over one woman for 500 years, curious what sex with a man like that is like. Feels like your on your hands and knees a lot, and he's telling you not to talk.

Participating gleefully in the annual orgy (when not forced?), only wanted to do Summer Solstice because there was a promise of sex. Libertine, laid back, fun as fuck. This man will never call you back but that's okay. You had a good enough time.

Nesta stans calling mor "jealous and insecure", feyre "useless" and elain "the selfish sister" is very much on par with their fav who always projects her own flaws on others.

It's just so hilarious to see her stans do all the mental gymnastics coz the words "jealous, useless and selfish" describe NESTA perfectly but they try to dump it onto others just to erase nesta's flaws.

Nesta was jealous and insecure of her own sister. Nesta was jobless her entire life and utterly useless even with cauldron's powers. Nesta was the sister who stole and abused feyre and only ever cared about herself.

Cassian deserves better. I’m biased because I love him and I know all relationships have struggles but I just wanted him to have a supportive partner. Someone who he can relax with after a day of being a General. Someone helping him deal with his insecurities and guilt. Going out and talking to families of dead soldiers is traumatizing. Dealing with a whole group of people who hate you is traumatizing. Someone he can have fun with. He needed a home outside the inner circle. Family is so important to him and he would die for everyone he loves. He needed someone who values that as well. It just felt like he gave and gave in acosf. What is he getting out the relationship?

N.esta is a waste of life. Amren just said her opinion, fictional women are allowed to be bitchy and mean, right? They can snap and yell if they are traumatized or have dead parents and everyone should take it. Or is that only reserved for n.esta? Was amren wrong?

What was n.esta doing in the cabin while everyone starved? Nothing. While she knew how to use a bow and arrow? Nothing. What about when tamlin gave them enough money to survive because he knew they couldn’t without Feyre? Did she go off and become something great like she wanted and said she would do? Nope. Did she become the proactive “queen” she was always mean to be, when she was given the opportunity as she became a fae? No. How about when she got the death powers? Training? Nope. It took feyre to ask or pull her out every-time for any usefulness from her to start. Sounds like a waste to me

It's the way nessian is objectively the most forgettable ship in the series because of how poorly it's written. It was sjm straight out telling readers "LOOK these two want to FUCK each other. Okay?? There IS attraction between them!!" instead of you know...slowly showing that it in their interactions. They had no subtlety whatsoever and their romance was painful to read bcuz of how forced it felt.
