the best i can figure out was that celestic, blue, and wyndy did something to either... gravity or polarization? stuck water to the walls? no idea, but we all had fun, so it's nice. the water has been taken down from the walls. and celling. and floor...

ARCEUS' PLATES THERE'S SO MUCH WATER EVERYWHERE. i found my nav in a puddle of it, screen-down. it's... not broken, which is very nice and good of it. still at 100%. i... this is like a mini ocean. why is it on the walls? the celling?

Muse Mixup Madness—March 1, 2024

(If you don't know what this is, see this post)

welcome back to the second round of muse mixup madness! the first time around went great, and i'm hoping to see people have just as much fun with this one!

starting this month, i'm going to begin marking prompts as high or low fantasy. low fantasy prompts should be compatible with any blog canon, while high fantasy ones might inherently involve things that more grounded blogs might prefer to avoid, like eebydeebies, sapient pokémon, hybrids, or crossovers. there will always be at least one low fantasy prompt.

(note! these labels are completely arbitrary, and there are no rules in muse mixup madness. if you're a low fantasy blog and some interpretation of a high fantasy prompt appeals to you, go for it.)

with that out of the way, let's get into this month's prompts!

1. The Road Not Taken (low fantasy)

Everyone has had decisions to make in life, some of them more impactful than others. With this prompt, you'll be looking into what may have happened if your muse chose to pursue a different path in life from the one they did.

2. Rags to Riches/Riches to Rags (low fantasy)

A character's socioeconomic status growing up has a huge impact on how they interact with the world and the person they become. If your character's family was richer or poorer, how would that affect them?

3. Another World (high fantasy)

If your character was a Faller originating from somewhere other than the Pokémon multiverse, where would they be from? What would they be like? If your character is already a Faller, explore who they'd be if they'd been a Pokémon character from the beginning.

(For a lower fantasy take on this one, you can remove the crossover element and focus on the effects of being or not being a more canon-compliant Faller.)

4. I've Got a Type (high-ish fantasy)

Does anyone else remember typed humans? They were a minor character trend around a year ago before they died out, and now with hybrids around they've been more or less forgotten. I liked them though, so this prompt is for an AU where your character is one of them! If they already have a type due to being a Pokémon or hybrid, give them something unconventional for their species instead.

5. Bonded Rivals (high fantasy, requires partner)

Maybe it's coincidence that your character and your partner's keep meeting, or maybe it's fate pulling them to each other with some sort of invisible (or visible) tether. But whatever the reason, and whatever the level of supernatural involvement, every time they see each other there's some level of fighting or competition involved. After a point, they do have to have built up a mutual respect through that... right?

(Or in other words, this one's a soulmate AU, but for rivalry instead of romance. You can sprinkle in any trappings of that you like, or keep it wholly mundane for a more low-fantasy take if you prefer.)

a little note on that last one—it's entirely possible it appeals to you, but you don't have anyone to do it with. if that's the case, you can make an open invitation post on your blog or use the notes of this post to coordinate.

and once again, for my records, please answer the poll! again, it's not binding, this is just so i can gauge popularity for the prompts.

it is sheet cleaning day. we have brought the laundry outside and set up lines- rainbow is blasting most of them with a water gun right now, she's having fun. this is... just a water fight with laundry mixed in. blue is being used as an ironing board by coco and wyndy. celestic's made a game out of dodging rainbow's shots while doing laundry

sheets cleaning day is on the 25th of every month. missed it last month. clean them this month (pillows, blankets, the actual fabric of the hammock) (team cleaning day. water fight? the... slip and slide game mina mentioned. invite her)

tri-monthly appointment with mina coming up. it's in the grilling imi-meat restaurant, the all you can eat in two and a half hours one

...hmm. celestic's -my lunatone, it's the only one awake at this time today- suggesting that it could be genetic. i asked before in the tags, but do you have anyone you could ask about the white hair? does it feel like normal hair?

you could go to a pokecenter to check it out. ask the nurse joy for a human checkup with her chansey or blissey. they'll do a medical scan, it's around the same price as a great ball

Is 15 old enough for your hair to start going grey? I woke up this morning and there's a bunch of weird white parts.

...i have met younger people with white hair, but i don't know if that was natural or not. usually the organic greying process takes place over time (ie. a few months or weeks), so just waking up with it might be out of the ordinary

there... was a story about someone who was going to be executed and woke up with her hair all white out of stress. have you been stressed lately? that could be it

...left my pokenav at the house, so there's nothing to say to this site today. i need to make a to-do list. i'll do that next. err... everyone went out over the water to play, i was riding blue as usual. wyndy crashed into the water and had to ride on rainbow for a while. we explored a lot of ocean. found a sunken ship, like hoenn's one. ...found a weird glowing crack that sealed itself shut. but that's not my problem, i'm not worrying about it

but rainbow picked up a very pretty string of pearls! i'm putting it up on the celling tomorrow

my team is out in the garden picking a spot for me as we speak. celestic is advocating for under the tree. rainbow insists on at the bottom of the river but that's not really in the garden. we could expand it... into the garden however i don't know what will happen to the plants. wyndy and coco both want me buried under the big rock they perch on sometimes. blue wants to put me under their favourite flowers, but i don't want to damage them accidentally. other than that they've got no opinion

i have. obtained a shovel. it's a good shovel. celestic blunted the edges for me so i wouldn't cut anything off while digging. i've tested the shovel out. it's the best one i've ever used, and i've used a lot... that might say more about the quality of the ones i've handled more than the quantity

coco's mapped out a mourning fire dance thing. celestic has offered to dig a hole for me. i think this will be greatly stimulating for me. it'll be healthy. a hole a day keeps you sane
