4 the fishboy fans. probably not a good idea to do this 4 a character i've never played but i'll never learn if i dont try. credit to some discord friends for a couple of these

headcanons under the cut ! also excuse the lack of cool formatting i genuinely have no idea how to do that, i'll hopefully learn in the future

his lack of eye contact is multifaceted. u not only have the arrogance aspect but poseidon is also just... on the spectrum so even if he were a bit more humble he'd not look at people much regardless. that being said, he's really good at using his peripheral vision and pretty much nothing escapes his notice.

the god of the ocean has really dry hair because of his penchant for saltwater and completely foregoing conditioner.

'gods dont need (x)' is just heaven's 'sigma male' im sorry. if this man ever watched american psycho he'd be kind of annoyed because bateman is a ripoff of him.

hades is his favorite brother for multiple reasons but one of them is pretty simple - hades isn't eardrum-breakingly loud like zeus or adamas. poseidon's little fishy brain likes it when people use their indoor voices thank u

surprisingly does not hold grudges, either because he's thinking 'im 2 cool they r stupid and dont understand a true god' (im paraphrasing) or because he's already sent the person to niflhelm and continued on with his day.

having women throw themselves at him is tiring and slightly weird. poseidon is heteroflexible but isn't interested in a relationship (note: romantic poseidon reqs can still be sent this is just my take)

no one expected poseidon to be a foodie. no one. he's not a glutton or someone with a massive appetite but really enjoys trying different foods even if there's a 50/50 chance he's gonna recoil at the texture. he will never tell anyone about the cuisine interest but if he could get over his own ego for 0.01 seconds he'd sit down and cook something that he likes.

his favorite food when he was a lil baby god was shrimp but nowadays it's strawberry jello. that is his vice and he's constantly at war with himself over "gods should not partake in human things" vs "i want jello."

has a penchant for long-ass tables because he likes to be dramatic. adamas broke his custom ridiculously-sized table and poseidon replaced it soon after. everyone come laugh at poseidon for his mile-long table, he's the only one who ever sits at it.
