One thing I hope they keep about Poppy in the retcon is her inspiring Galio.

Tiny babby Yordle inspiring giant stone gargyole out of a centuries long depression is still one of the most touching moments in League lore.

As a being that never slept, Galio had often found himself wandering through the sky at night, typically keeping an eye on the houses of nobles. On this particular night, he had heard what sounded like a struggle coming from the Lightshield residence, and had found Lady Luxanna’s window open, flinging to and fro under her covers.

He had entered silently, debating if it was right to be there. But, first and foremost, his duty was to the nobility.

“Your window was left open,” he said, his voice level, “I heard you from outside and wished to awaken you from what appeared to be a nightmare. I apologize if I have overstepped my bounds.”

"Wake up!" (resolute-smite)

My muse is trapped in a nightmare, send “Wake up!” For their reaction.

– The voice screamed it would seem, causing Lux to jerk upwards as she let out a hollow gasp, her body covered in cold sweat as her eyes adjusted from seeing the nightmare to seeing a face before her. Blinking back tears as she gasped, finding her breath as she pulled her knees up, craddling her face in her hands as the memory of the nightmare caused her stomach to turn.

“H-how did you get in my house?” She questions after a second. Galio seemed to have from no where…

Looking up at him through the spaces between her fingers, she just stared.

However, it was not as if Galio was a stranger to being still or waiting. He was content to sit amongst the flowers of the institute garden, allowing this new-found friend to nap.

“But of course,” he said kindly, smiling as best as his rocky countenance allowed.
