Hey! Hope you’re doing well ♥️ will you still keep writing seblos fics?

hi there!! 💗 thank you for the ask!! so the short answer to this is: most likely not.

for a more elaborate answer: i haven't been into hsmtmts for quite some time and the show's just made some choices in terms of writing/storytelling/cast(ing) etc. recently that i really can't agree with anymore, which is why i decided to stop blogging on my hsmtmts sideblog. i still really adore all the characters and especially seblos tho, but i have been writing them for an entire year (CRAZY) and they were also the first ship/fandom i ever wrote fic for (even more crazy). so i kind of just feel like i want to explore who i am as a writer with other source material? and it's been great doing that so far (i'm currently working on a very self-indulgent rwrb fic) and it feels very right and brings back the fun and challenge of writing fic in the first place, which is something i've been missing.

I think the thing I love most about fanfiction is that no two authors will ever have exactly the same understanding of a character. If you gave multiple writers the same situation with the same characters, none of them would write the same thing or have the characters react in the exact same way, yet every time it would still be completely believable. Every author understands, relates to, and connects with characters in a different way and that will always show in their writing because they’ll bring out certain aspects of a character’s personality that others won’t even pick up on, and still the character will be written in a way that rings of how they were originally in whatever piece of media they’re from. Nobody will write the same thing with the same characters, even if they’re using identical prompts or tropes, and it provides so much variety and enrichment and it’s honestly just a beautiful thing to see how differently everyone views their favourite characters while simultaneously seeing them the same.

Seven Sentence Sunday

...on a Monday. @sonseulsoleil tagged me to post the first seven sentences of my recent wip.... so here goes.... the gang has been waiting for this one

At eleven-thirty that night, the sound heard around the Mitchell University campus was, in fact, the sound of a sneaker thrown against the wall by one Carlos Rodriguez.

“I’m fucking over it! I want you out! Now.”

“I was already on my way out, Princess! God forbid you have the patience to let me take my things.”

“It’s probably all shit I bought anyways.”

The second sound was Seb Matthew-Smith tossing a red sweater into Carlos’ arms.

“Well, then I guess you can have this thing back. I’m allergic to cashmere, so the best thing I’d be using it for is kindling.”

“You wouldn’t burn a sweater that cost more than your sister’s wedding dress.”

“You underestimate me.”

Sometimes, a fic doesn't have to get published, it can just be a series of messages on a Discord channel, between a dedicated group of friends going "oooh, you know what else would be cool?" continuously over a period of weeks and months :)
