While Dagny is more or less a 'dream' kid in terms of behavior most of the time, unfortunately, she wasn't nearly as 'adorable' when she was a baby. Dagny was a colic baby, and for the first half of her first year on Earth, there really was no soothing her most of the time. She fussed, she whined, she'd scream like a hell-spat banshee; and it didn't matter if she was hungry or well-fed, or just laying there swaddled in her mother's arms. It made River's life absolutely miserable for that while, considering the lye scars were still fresh at the time and she was also recovering from Dagny's rather difficult birth... The near-constant screaming also made it harder to avoid the family members who were doggedly pursuing them at the time, too.

Granted, it was partly River's fault. She didn't know what she was doing when it came to motherhood, and tended to over-feed Dagny, which in turn upset her stomach and made the colic worse.

After those six hectic months things got better though, much better.

Fingertips meet against bars, idle in their trace down the length of cold metal and flecked dust; and patient in their boredom. There's a faint sound, it echoes as her index curls and scratches the tail-end of a red nail against the surface's faded luster. Who knows if he was speaking to her directly, but even the barest bones of a conversation was better than sitting here, listening to him seemingly mumble to himself.

"Sounds like the skeleton to a most scintillating romance novel, darling. You should definitely stash that one away for a rainy-day: you just might be the next millionaire in the making."

Dino nuggets, of course! The most 'important' part of any growing child's meal, and it's not only because her mom is such an awful cook. Dagny does specifically ask to eat dino nuggets a lot, and River keeps a steady stock of them in the fridge at the hideouts that have one on-hand, ready to go whenever her daughter requests it.

Hot nuggs, cold nuggs, any nugg is a good nugg! Sometimes Dagny will even ask River to cook an extra bag, so that she can bring a couple cold leftovers to school for lunch... It's one of the few times the whole class is nice to her, when she brings 'good food' like this. But Dagny see's right through the kiss-assery, and denies them any and all nugg-privileges.

Dagny's all about the questions, just like her mom was when she was younger though River is actually happy to provide answers. If she can't find it in a book or online somehow, she's going to come to someone with a big mental list; and she's not going away until each question is answered, or she's scooped-up and shepherded-away to some other room. So far, most of her inquiries still revolve around assistance with difficult words seen in a book she's reading or game she's currently playing... Dagny loves to use really big words in order to sound more grown-up and 'sophisticated' when she talks to other people.

Granted, she doesn't always pronounce them all correctly, but she tries. She tries.

Traveling isn't something Dagny really thinks about, though. Most of the traveling already done in her life was from when she was just a baby, and she doesn't remember anything much from before living in Gotham... Dagny knows she's not technically 'from' Gotham, but as far as she's concerned for now, she's always been there. Now, traveling is something she expects will happen once she becomes an assassin like her mom, and she's excited for it in that regard; but for now, she's pretty content staying in Gotham with River... Her mother is her best friend after all, and why would she want to be away from her?

If there's one place Dagny is interested in though, it's definitely the place where she was originally born. However, her mom is extremely tight-lipped about it, to the point of being a bit harsh in response; and she hasn't been able to glean a sliver of info out of River regarding the place.

Current/Elementary-aged Dagny is probably the most 'conventionally' rebellious! Most of the time she's very well-behaved, if not a little loud, but she's still just a 7-year old kid who will sometimes get angry and petulant. It just happens.

River doesn't want her getting dirty? Too bad, she's already on the ground making mud-pies, and scuffing her jeans climbing trees. In fact, don't ever tell her she 'can't' climb something; because she inherited her mom's competitive streak, and she's the 'best' climber in the whole city! First one scaling the slide, or climbing to the top of the monkey-bars, shouting to the heavens that she's 'king of the hill'.

Some kids bring Pokémon cards and toys to school under their parents' nose, but Dagny? Bugs, and her tarantula Max. Max basically lives rent-free under Dagny's beanie and it drives River absolutely bonkers; and the arachnid also has a seat at the dinner table. Good luck telling Dagny 'no', you'll get an hour-long, detailed lecture on how Max is a 'valued member of the family' and therefore deserves it.

Unfortunately Dagny's 'oddness' tends to get her picked-on at school, and her confident mouthiness sometimes lands her in fights. She doesn't always tend to start them, but will finish them, and River's been called-down to the school a few times because of it... The worst one will be the year before high school, where one of her more persistent bullies will make the mistake of yanking the beanie off her head; and Dagny breaks the kid's jaw with a single solid punch. The act graduates her from being 'that weird kid' to 'that weird scary kid who broke so-and-so's jaw'.

Despite the rep though, Dagny does end-up starting a few 'Black Market' side-hustles in high school, where she sells snacks and candy in-between classes; in the bathrooms and outside by the dumpsters behind school, like any proper shady individual. She'll also sell her 'services' where, for a nominal fee, she'll write classmates' papers or snatch a copy of some test scores for them.

In her teen years, Dagny also starts becoming a lot more insistent with River in regards to teaching her how to become an assassin.

Riversong Locke, ever the wildcard, she just wants to see Mary sweat at the idea of it all. Just a little bit.

"Frankly, I'm not sure why you keep pretending at this point." A huff precedes the placing of hands upon her hips once the assassin crawls her way inside, "I've seen you shoot people for doing far less, and I've yet to receive my bullet.
