Bro what is with the random-ass untagged posts of garbage-takes and “”discourse”” that I keep seeing on my dash? I already disabled the algorithm stuff in my settings but I keep seeing it and it’s annoying. I literally don’t follow anyone who posts them or have any other connection whatsoever to what I’m seeing, but it keeps popping up. Some hyper-aggressive and ultra-specific DNIs have always confused me. Because like there are plenty of normal ones that are like “DNI TERFs, DNI Homophobes, DNI fascists, etc” but then there will be some that are so fucking specific and like…it’s either a very small group of niche users or a broad and old demographic of this website that are being given the DNI treatment and the blogs never elaborate on why they don’t like them. They’ll imply it sometimes but usually it’s just a normal blog with an over-the-top hatred of something that they have in their bio or a single post that has an oddly high amount of reblogs.

These are honestly the most oddly hostile ones I’ve seen too. I’ll read DNIs that will just be for the aforementioned bigot groups and they’re written totally calmly like “if you’re a part of these groups DNI. I don’t like bigots” but when I read the weird ones it’s always something like “If you like skittles then I hate you and want you fucking dead. You’re getting blocked immediately and if I see that you like skittles at all and I will literally laugh if your family dies irl”. Like Jesus Christ calm down it’s a fucking personal preference you don’t gotta go THAT hard with it.

Tbh it’s usually enough to get a block from me lol. I’m not about to risk interacting with someone who has a bunch of conversational landmines that are random as hell. Also even when they imply the reasons they have such disdain for these people it’s almost always the most terminally online posturing shit ever. Idk tumblr terminally online-ness is a trip.

"writers deserve attention more than actors" literally only 2% of actors can pay the bills with acting. For every megastar on screen there are a dozen other people in the shot who are SAG. Acting gets so glamorized but there are SO MANY people in SAG who NEED residuals to live on. Background Party Girl #4 needs her check too!!!! There are people who play recurring characters on syndicated shows who cant afford health insurance!!! Ke Huy Quan gave an oscar winning performance and LOST HIS HEALTH INSURANCE the next year.

I genuinely hope American media sucks for a while! I hope the big companies keep trying to churn out shit and that it’s all embarrassing garbage! I want it to be extremely apparent to everyone how important the writers and actors are to create good media and that they deserve to be compensated appropriately!!!

They are ordinary people struggling to make a living, living paycheck to paycheck just like the majority of WGA members.
