Clearing up something that no person on this planet has given a shit about since approximately 2012:

G.U.N isn't mistaking Sonic for Shadow in Sonic Adventure 2, they're fucking framing him.

like it's a subtle bit of storytelling, it's not explicit stated as far as i remember. But it's there.

for some reason everyone just takes sonic's word for it when he says this, and then they get really confused because sonic and shadow barely look alike.

But if you think about it for like 5 seconds, sonic is the least qualified person in the story to make this assessment, he doesn't know shit about project S.H.A.D.O.W, he doesn't know who shadow is or anything like that.

the military knows literally of this though, they know EXACTLY what shadow is because they've been keeping him a secret, frozen in their basement for 50 fucking years.

Then suddenly he breaks out and does so many crimes it's insane, and if word got out about this top secret government project they killed an entire space colony full of people to get their hands on, they'd be fucked, they don't want that to happen, so they throw their hands up and go "uhh it's probably this blue fucker who runs fast and does ecoterrorism. it's that guy who did all those crimes and we need to arrest him and kill him probably, please for the love of god don't look up what happened on the ark"

basically sonic's wrong as shit and sometimes in stories characters say things that aren't true because they don't know better

if you'll allow me to be a weirdo who gives far more weight to the narrative element of these children's video games where funny cartoon animals jump around, sometimes you gotta read between the lines

The monsters of Hope's Peak are putting together a haunted house to try to connect to a nearby human town!

Maki, a monster hunter in disguise, is very much not happy with the idea. After all, she was always taught that monsters would take any opportunity to harm humanity. This could all just be a ploy to kill off the nearby town. It didn’t matter if... the students there seemed nice. It was her job to protect humanity from monster scum. She just had to sabotage the event in any way she could. Kaito seems to have other ideas.

Meanwhile, Miu and Kazuichi are hard at work on the haunted house, but with Taka breathing down their necks, they’ve had hardly any creative freedom. Even worse, their inventions keep failing for some reason, which is only making Taka stricter. Maybe with some help from a friend or two, they can convince Taka to do it their way.

Leon's relationship with baseball is kind of like most people's relationship with books they had to read for school. It sucks to be forced to read and analyze them for class, but when they read (some of) them on their own, they'll find they actually like them.

Leon doesn't hate baseball. He hates being force-fed baseball like it's his entire life and the only thing he should be doing ever. He likes to play the game! He doesn't like being forced into it.

Actually, you know what? I bet you Sonic ‘06 takes place on June 21, exactly. The main Soleannan religion worships the sun as their god, Solaris. What better day to hold the Solaris-honoring Festival of the Sun than on the longest day in the year, when the sun will be out longer to celebrate? 

Sonic ‘06 takes place over the course of two days (according to Tails’ line in Crisis City, regarding Elise’s death: “The date of this incident was two days after the Festival of the Sun”). Which would make the day that Elise “died” - and the day that Sonic actually died… his birthday. June 23.

Sonic was probably visiting Soleanna at the time to celebrate with his friends. And instead, he was murdered and the world ended.

Sonic the Hedgehog died on his birthday.
