Coffee Pt I: Bitter

Author’s Note: Hello !!! Please keep in mind this imagine and this series has very heavy material in terms of talking about suicide and insinuating cheating. Also, major character death. You’re so bitter.

“Why’d you have to leave Yoongi? Why did you have to leave me here alone?” Hoseok thought to himself helplessly. He couldn’t recall how long it had been since he locked himself away in his own apartment, an outcast to the world. He’d forgotten the last time he had talked to someone on the phone, due to him cutting off all ways for people to be contact him. Hoseok wished to be alone, although in his heart he knew that he only yearned to be beside Yoongi once again.

You’re as bitter as your coffee in the morning.

Yoongi always kept on a mask around others. This façade that made others believe he was uncaring and tough – occasionally a jerk. Hoseok saw right through the act when they met at the coffee shop. It all began when Hoseok accidentally went to grab the wrong cup…

I was waiting patiently for the barista to call my name so that I could finally hurry to the dance class I was meant to teach. I almost always ordered a nice cup of hot coco in the morning. It was oddly comforting to feel the warm substance make its way down my throat. To taste the rich chocolate that came from the small grande order. I ran my hand through my dyed red hair, idly tapping on apps residing in my phone in order to busy myself.

“Jung Hoseok!”

I scurried out of the seat where I had been sitting in wait. While caught up in the rush of adrenaline caused from the scary thought of being late, I quickly took the first grande beverage my eyes landed on, assuming it was mine. I cast a look down at the drink only to find that the drink I had was indeed not my own. Written on the cup was ‘Yoongi, no decaf, no suga, no cream.’ In my moment of confusion I did not notice the slightly smaller individual who was currently glaring at me like there was no tomorrow. Seconds later, the smaller man was grabbing the coffee from my hands and replacing it with a different cup. When I finally realized what was happening, I took a glance at the name scribed on the drink now in my grasp. ‘Hobi – Hot Coco.’

“You know, it’s pretty rude to just take someone’s coffee without permission and not give the person you’re taking it from something in return.”

“Oh really? Perhaps I wanted to taste it for myself.”

After making that bold statement, I heard the barista - a man by the name Taehyung – chime in, “You would have severely regretted that Hoseok! I know you have a sweet tooth!” I let out a hearty laugh at Taehyung’s comment. He was quite the uplifting spirit, and it was reassuring to know a person like Taehyung was the one in a relationship with two of my dance students, Jimin and Jungkook.

I whipped my head back to the man who I’d previously been talking too, only to see an adorable gummy smile on his face for a split second, before he was back to being emotionless. Before I could speak anything more to him, he was turning on his heel and walking away.

“Hey, you can’t just walk away without letting me to apologize!”

The man turned around only to simply claim, “Call me.” Then he once again began his walk toward the door so that he could finally start his day.

I held a puzzled look on my face before suddenly having Taehyung tell me that I should turn the cup around.

Scribbled on the other side of the cup in neat, clean handwriting was ‘XXX-XXX-XXX – Yoongi.’

After noticing the number, I shot a look at Taehyung before we both had a small excited squealing fit together.

“Now go teach my boyfriends how to dance!”

Later in the day, Hoseok decided it was time to finally grow some balls and text the cute man, Yoongi, from earlier.

hey. sorry about this morning! it was a total accident. i was in a rush to get to the dance class i had to teach and ended up grabbing the wrong cup.

You think only giving me an apology is going to make up for the crime you committed?

… yes? :)

Meet me for coffee tomorrow at 9. Then you’ll be forgiven.

i’ll be there!!!

Hoseok will never forget the first date he went on with Yoongi. How Yoongi made him order both of their drinks in order to make up for him almost stealing his. Also the way Taehyung smirked at him when he ordered a certain type of coffee. One with -

No decaf, no sugar, no cream.

Hobi remembers the countless times he went to snatch a swig of his lover’s coffee, only to regret it when his taste buds were met with bitterness. Yoongi refused to drink any sort of coffee with sweetener, saying he would feel like a pussy if he didn’t just face the harshness of untouched, black coffee.

Just straight up coffee.

He remembers the countless nights he stayed awake with Yoongi, listening intently to the ideas for songs he’d talk endlessly about. Every word that left Yoongi’s mouth carried a melody within it. As if everything he stated held complete and utter purpose to it. In return, Yoongi would pay attention to his Hoseok as he spoke about his thoughts on new choreo, or the progress of his students. They spent so many nights up together, before they would finally fall asleep in each others arms.

Hoseok wishes he could fall asleep with Yoongi in his arms once more.

But that’s a wish that sadly won’t ever come true.

You lure me in with your tales, and keep me up all night.

Yoongi had never been this in love before. Never knew it was possible to find complete solace simply by gazing into someone’s eyes. Hoseok desperately wished to always protect Yoongi. From the demons around them, as well as those who resided in and haunted Yoongi’s mind. It would not be long until those demons completely invaded his head.

I think you put me under a spell,

I wish I was your knight

Yoongi started to leave late at night, coming home early morning. He would spend all this time in the studio, in attempt to edit his tracks into perfection. However, the buddy he would meet up with after going to his studio had nothing to do with his tracks, and everything to do with the deep hatred he held for himself.

Yoongi came home every morning completely drunk.

He’d drink his cares away, in order to forget about the failure he was told he was.

Of course, the alcohol was always in the disguise of black coffee.

Hoseok noticed the change in his love’s behavior. It worried him to no end. To the point where he himself would spend hours at his own studio, dancing as if it would somehow alter the grim reality he would soon face.

I’m completely addicted to you.

Why can’t you love yourself like I love you?

And let’s not forget he is after all Mr Worldwide Handsome, so… But despite it all, he is still the classy gentleman and would do anything for his girl, even if it means going against the wishes of his mother.

Badboy with a heart of gold? Check. Killer Smile? Check. Swoon-worthy eyes? Check. Worth dying for? Double check. He’s the kind of man who would look at you with those puppy dog eyes and make you fall for them in a second. No need for words, the smile is enough to steal your heart. He may not show it much, but he has a big heart which is, completely and utterly reserved for the one he loves. With his goofy nature, he wouldn’t shy away from big romantic gestures just to embarrass the person he loves.

Kim Namjoon (RM) as Edward Lewis (in Pretty Woman)

The rich and successful man who knows all about the serious side of life but has no clue about how to let loose? Sounds kind of right. He’s the man who has it all and will spend it all on the person he loves. He has a big heart despite always coming off as cold and reserved. He maybe appear as all cool and suave but, in reality, he is an adorable little idiot because when it comes to expressing love, he is completely lost. He is the Prince Charming everyone wants in their life.

Jung Hoseok (J-Hope) as Keith Nelson (in Some Kind of Wonderful)

He’s the cute awkward art kid you cannot help but love. He has his own style, his own way of talking no matter how people might say he is not in the same level as you, you wouldn’t listen. Quirky and different, he’s the kind of person you will slowly begin to love because of the sincerity of his emotions. He will persuade you by not constantly following you but by giving you your space.

Park Jimin as Josh Lucas (in Clueless)

The cute and adorable puppy who you can always rely on, that’s who he is. One call and he’d drive all the way to the other side of the city to pick you up. He wouldn’t shy from expressing his concern towards you but he’d also tease you to no end, making you confused as to whether he likes you or not. But in the end, he wouldn’t hesitate to fight for you or to wipe away your tears because no matter what the world says, you are an amazing person.

Kim Taehyung as George Wade (in Two Weeks Notice)

He’s the charming rich man who is also a child at heart. While he might not have his life sorted out, he won’t hesitate in messing up yours either. He’s a little slow when it comes to realizing his feelings or confessing, but he does have the guts to stand up against the world for you when he does realize them. Yeah, he may act like a complete idiot but he’s smarter than most people. In the end, he will win your heart in a way you never expected.

He’s the charming man who you cannot help but fall for. A little wild and unpredictable, he makes your head reel with his words. He might say one thing and mean another, you will never know. You cannot help but hate him for all the times he has pushed your buttons and annoyed you. In the end, however, his smiles and little caring ways will win your heart. You will eventually learn to see beneath the exterior of the relentless flirt and realize your feelings. And then, it will be your turn to push his buttons
