So i’m reading this short story called event 1000 and there are so many similarities with this and shadow and bone and I just thought it’d be funny to share it. Like there’s a boat called the Kingfisher like Nikolai’s boat, and this next part is funny because there’s a ship named ‘Nikolai Trunov’ whose captain is coincidentally a guy named Vasili and it’s making me wonder if Leigh ever read the book and maybe got inspiration from it.
