Kai was trying to cook lunch, but it was hard to with the ruckus his husbands were making.
Clay: Papa, are you alright?
Kai: Depends on if I can make lunch fast enough.
Voices from the living room became very loud.
Zane: SIR IT WAS THE CHANDELIER WHO STARTEE IT!
Jay: SIR GLOBERLAB! SIR VANDERCHIN! YOU TWO SHOULD KNOW BETTER THEN TO BEGIN FIGHTS!
Cole: HE TEMPTED ME!
Zane: I DID NO SUCH THING! YOU ARE THE ONE THREW THE FIRST-

Jay: Come on, it’s the first date ever in your life! You have to look good.
Winter: Isn’t it… a bit too much?
Jay: Nope.
Cole: A little.

Kai: Jay, I’m sure he will look handsome no matter what you put him in. And no jacket, it is burning hot outside.
Zane: It might rain later though, so just bring it as a side thing just in case.
Jay: Or an umbrella!
Cole: You know what, that could work. Add a lil romance.
Winter: Oh my FSM, you all are treating this like I’m running the red carpet for a fashion show or movie premiere.
Jay: It’s a special moment! It’s not everyday one of your lil buggies go out… on a date for the first time… Now I know how my parents felt.
Kai and Cole wheezed.
Winter: Do you know how I feel right now?
Jay: Hey.
Kaipo came in the room with a mischievous smile.
Kaipo: She’s here.
Winter: What!?
Zane: Okay. Remember what we told you. Be nice, play nice, no roughhousing, make sure to compliment her, and don’t do anything your dads and I would do.
Winter nodded and immediately went to the front door.
Kai: Have fun, snowball!

When he saw Blue, he melted. She was wearing a blue spring dress and black boots. Her motorcycle was behind her.
Blue: Hey.
Winter: Hi.
Winter heard a camera click.
Winter: Baba!
Cole: Alright! I’m leaving! You two have fun.
Winter sighed as Blue giggled.
Blue: Well, shall we?
Blue handed Winter a motorcycle helmet:
Winter: Yeah. Before my parents start to take more pictures.
Blue: Special occasions for first dates?
Winter: Apparently.

Winter: We’re ungrounded now!
Sky: Wooooooo!
Aidan: Yay.
Clay: Who wants to get smoothies?
Winter felt a small buzz on his phone. He pulled it out.
Blue R: Come outside
Sky: What is it?
Winter: Uh… someone wants me to go outside.
The four, along with the little siblings, followed Winter to the door.
Kai: What’s going on?
Sky: Someone asked Winter to come outside.
The four parents looked at each other and immediately followed.
Winter: Jeez, summoning the entire parade.
Winter opened the door to see Blue holding a small bouquet and wearing a suit.
Blue: Hey.
Winter: H-Hi.
Blue handed the bouquet to Winter.
Blue: You wanna go on a date tomorrow?
Winter: Date?
Blue: Yeah. I was meaning to ask you sooner, but your dads said you were grounded.
Winter looked back at his dads. All them gave a reassuring smile and two of them giving thumbs up.
Winter: I-I, uh, wow.
Blue: Is something wrong?
Winter: No! Nothing is wrong, just, caught a bit off guard.
Winter looked back at Blue.
Winter: … Yeah. I would like to go on a date.
The screams of excited siblings echoed.
Winter: I’m sorry about my siblings.
Blue, chuckling: It’s alright. Pick you up at 12 tomorrow?
Winter: Yeah. That sounds good.
Blue smiled then drove off on her motorcycle.
Winter: Holy shit I’m going on a date.
Jay: Nice.
Winter looked at his Dad.
Winter: You we’re involved with this, weren’t you?
Jay: She came to ask for permission and I gave her some tips.

That was a major drop none of the four expected.
Zane: You… want to take Winter on a date?
Blue: Yes. And I saw that parent approval is needed.
Kai covered his mouth, trying to hold back the giggles.
Jay: Uh, well it isn’t needed. It’s just a thing some people do.
Blue: Oh.
Cole: Can I also ask why your dressed up like you’re being… interviewed?
Blue: I’ve never done this before.
Cole: What about your Mom and Dad? Did you ask them for advice?
Blue: My Pa is kinda gone, and my Ma doesn’t know much about romance. Plus she and I kind of have… a small gap in our relationship.
Cole: Oh…
Jay: Okay, here is my question. What were you thinking about date ideas?
Blue: … There’s more than one?
Zane: What one were you thinking?
Blue: It was something that involved watching stream services.
Jay: Oooookay, that is not a great first date.
Blue: It’s not?
Jay: Well, first dates are kind of the first impressions. Testing the water to see if it will work or not. You would want to get to know our son, and watching tv together doesn’t help with that.
Blue: … Do you know good ideas for first dates?
Jay, handing Blue a pen and notebook: You’re gonna want to write this down.

TrebleTrain: Well, after some string pulling and many hours of helping service: I convinced the school to let me run the beginning of school year play with my musical

RockyJr: Is it even finished?
TrebleTrain: It is! The whole story and songs planned out
RockyJr: So sappy romance where guy finds girl who has had her heart broken, but then the two fall in love
TrebleTrain: You make it sound basic and weird phrasing it like that
RockyJr: Then prey do tell what it actually is
TrebleTrain: A guy returns to his hometown and meets his old friend. The old friend has a sister who was hurt by her past lover. Old friend saw that guy seemed interested in the girl. So he is warned that if he breaks her heart, he will regret it. So the guy goes to learn more about the girl. As the story goes on, the two start to fall in love. In the end, they get together and live happily ever after

Clay sighed. He felt a bit of emptiness inside him. He always poked fun at romance stuff, but he always wanted that. But it just felt like he couldn’t unless he was around his family. He always felt like he had to hide in public.

RockyJr: Yea, why?
TrebleTrain: Cuz that’s the school that let me hold the play

Zane: Did you all get a good sleep?
The boys groaned in response.
Zane: Something happened?
Aidan: Our body aches.
Zane: Hmm. We’ll have to check up on that when it’s time for doctor appointment.
Sky: Doctor what?
Zane: It’s at 3:30 PM today.
Winter: I forgot about that.
The group soon arrived at a small cottage.
Mrs. Zhōu: Hello, Zane. Hello boys.
Quadruplets: Hi Mrs. Zhōu.
Zane: Just call if there’s any trouble. I’ll be back to pick them up at 3:15.

The rock quad returned home. It was late at night and way pass dinner time.
Clay: Alright. We can sneak in quietly and no one will noticed.
The four entered the window to the living room. The lights turned on when the four gathered. Lying across from them was their dads spread across on the couch.
Winter: … Hi, Dads.
Sky: How’s it going?
Kai: You all are grounded.
Clay: Yep.
Kai: Two weeks.
Sky: Two weeks?
Kai: Would you like another?
Clay/Winter/Sky: No, that’s fine./I’m satisfied with two weeks./Two weeks is alright.
Aidan shook his head.
Kai: Good. Now, the rules. No tv. No gaming. Only use your phone for texting and calling. And no more ninja missions ever.
Clay: Papa…
Kai: I know you all have wanted to become ninjas, but there is a big lineup that comes with it. Being a ninja is not like what we tell you. It took a big mental toll on us and your aunt and uncle. We have been injured on every ninja adventure we had. Whether it was physical, emotional, or mental. The villains we ran into were actual threats. We’ve been manipulated, we’ve been put up against each other, we’ve been used as a tool. When it all starts, yes, it can seem like a great thing. That’s what we all thought. But we were sixteen. We didn’t have the ability to think about what could happen to us. And as we grew, it was hard to tell what happened to us shouldn’t have happened to a bunch of children. And it was hard for us to get out of the dark hole we thought was okay.
Kai: You all are thirteen. Three years younger than when me and your dads started. A thirteen year old should not have to deal with the horrors of being a ninja. None of you are mature enough to take this on. This is why we suggest looking into other options to fall back on and not stick with idea of being only a ninja. And now, your dads and I have decided to set a new rule. None of you can become a ninja until you all are 18.
The four looked down.
Kai: However, we did still agree to train you on your elemental powers.
The four looked up.
Sky: Huh?
Kai: The ninja gi you all are wearing were training gi. They also have chips in it.
Winter: Why?
Kai: Well, since we didn’t think you would go outside with it, your Dad programmed chips that would track your health, read for any injuries, and make recordings to help improve your technique.
The rock quad went pale.
Kai: Yes. We saw everything that happened. Which leads to the next topic. Would you all like to share your side of the story?
Sky: Winter suggested ninjaing.
Winter: HEY!
Kai: No yelling.
Winter: Sorry.
Clay: We were trying to decide how we were gonna go on a ninja mission, and Sky found a signal on the computer.
Winter: And that was were the Inferno Rainbows were. So we all went to rescue them.
Kai thought for a small moment.
Kai: Well, as much as the situation wasn’t well thought out, you all did good. You all adapted to the situation, were quick on your feet, and you all got out. But do not do this again. Do you all understand why your dads and I grounded you for this?
Clay/Winter/Sky: Yes, Papa.
Aidan nodded.
Kai: Alright. Now, here is where I offer a way to shorten your groundment. If you all help Mrs. Zhōu with her errands tomorrow and do your chores before the week ends, you will only be grounded for one week. Understood?
The four nodded.
Kai: Good. Now off to bed.
They started to leave.
Kai: Aidan? Can we talk to you for a second?
Aidan froze and slowly nodded. He looked at his brothers who looked back. Soon, they left the room. Kai motioned Aidan to come over. He did.
Kai: Are you alright?
Aidan didn’t respond.
Kai: We know that the ninja mission was scary, and we are very proud that you got through it.
Aidan: … Thank you… ‘m sorry.
Kai: It’s alright. Right now, let’s focus on you, okay?
Aidan: Okay.
