Winter Meet Cute Prompts

A meet cute is a fictional scene, typically in film or television, in which a future romantic couple meets for the first time in a way that is considered adorable, entertaining, or amusing.

A) Muse A reluctantly braves the cold weather to head to the local supermarket on a snowy day; Muse B is salting the sidewalk as Muse A walks by and feels pretty bad when Muse A slips on a patch of black ice they missed.  

B) Muse A is down on their luck after getting some bad news while at the winter festival. Muse B is a vendor at the festival who takes pity on Muse A after overhearing their situation and offers Muse A a delicious treat on the house. 

C) Muse A has never been skiing before but is determined to try it, especially since everyone else in their friend group has already gone. Muse B is the ski lift operator who has to rescue Muse A after they freak out and refuse to get off the lift.

D) Muse A is an aspiring figure skater who likes to practice skating at their local outdoor rink. Muse B is an avid hockey player and likes to practice at the same rink. Neither muse likes to share.

E) Muse A comes from a warmer climate and has never seen snow before, so imagine their delight exiting the airport to their first snow fall. Muse B is completely over the freezing temps and digging their car out, but can’t help noticing how in awe Muse A is when it begins to snow. They strike up a conversation about it while waiting for a rideshare.

F) Muse A spends hours each day building elaborate snow/ice sculptures in the park. Each night, a disenchanted Muse B destroys them on their walk home. One night, Muse A camps out to catch Muse B and confront them.  

G)  Muse A accepts a dare from a friend to run through the snow at a ski lodge in their underwear, only to find that they're locked out when they return to their cabin. Muse B is the friendly staff member who rescues them from the cold and makes it their duty to help keep them warm.

H) Muse A gets stuck on the side of the road during a blizzard; Muse B has snow tires and tries to pull their vehicle out of the snow.  When they make no progress, Muse B offers to drive Muse A to their destination.

I)  Muse A and Muse B are neighbors who have never met.  When a winter storm knocks out the power to their building, Muse A, terrified of the dark, lets out a bloodcurdling scream.  Next thing they know, Muse B is banging on the door to make sure they're okay.

J)  Muse A's car breaks down on a deserted stretch of road in the middle of snow storm. There's no cell service, so they decide to trek to the gas station they'd seen a few miles back to try and get help. Muse B is driving by when they see Muse A struggling against the elements and offers to help.

K)  Muse A is doing their best to keep their child entertained as they wait in line at a bakery for a winter-themed birthday cake. The little one slips free from Muse A’s grasp and runs up to Muse B ahead of them in line to ask if they want to attend their party. To Muse A’s surprise, Muse B says they’re available.

L)  Muse A has been feeling burned out by work and life responsibilities ever since the winter season started. They decide to take the advice of a friend and take the day off, heading to the woods for a serene nature hike. Well into the woods, Muse A gets scared after thinking they hear a wild animal approaching so they scramble up a tree. Muse B, also seeking a break, emerges from the brush and spots Muse A up in the tree, curious what they’re doing up there and more importantly how they expect to get down without help.

AAAA so happy to have found this blog! Um, do you have any collection of group plots? I've been looking through the internet and it's a bit hard to turn a few plots into a 3 person rp 👉👈 your posts have been giving me inspirations to write stuff, I might be looking at the wrong tags though ^^;

a natural disaster forces friends or lovers, muse a and muse b, to be stuck together and realize they’re not as close as they thought

apocalyptic world, muse a has just been infected, muse b is desperate to find a cure before the muse a they know is lost forever

a natural disaster displaces muse a and muse b far from home, forcing them to rely on their combined survival skills

muse a befriends (or seduces) muse b with intentions to frame them for a crime or to take revenge for a past wrong, muse b has no idea

a sudden change in luck/fortune reveals character flaws of both muse a and muse b, making them question their compatibility

I'm so glad to have found your tumblr, so thank you first of all for this!! It's amazing. Also, do you perhaps have a collection of dramatic scenarios to develop plots around, not already detailed plots itself? Like for example: severe sickness, a hostage situation etc. I'm looking for a few ideas like this but can't come up with anything. Or do you know where to find something like this?

plot 171: (un)welcome to town

Muse A and Muse B are in a same-sex and/or interracial relationship. they’ve lived openly together in an inviting city and are on the cusp of making a deeper commitment to one another (moving in together, marriage, etc.). It’s surprising when an estranged family member reaches out to Muse A, calling on them to come home to take care of their ailing [insert relation]. Muse A feels guilty for asking Muse B to uproot their life, but they also feel like they would regret it if they didn’t go. Muse B is willing to relocate with Muse A. when the pair arrive in Muse A’s hometown, they’re shocked to see how little progress the townspeople have made in terms of tolerance and inclusivity. They quickly realize that they’ll have to readjust their lives so that Muse a can feel comfortable enough to stay and caretake, but how long will their relationship last under the strain of others’ bigotry?

Hi love!!! I screamed when I saw you guys were back, you guys are so amazing!! I’m actually in a pickle, I had a really cool dream involving a kind of southern gothic setting and vampires but I don’t remember the plot, and was wondering if you guys could give me some ideas please? :)

Hiyeee. How about something like this?

- small town in the south, vampires believe they’re the only supernatural race in existence, they live in a tenuous peace with human beings, where certain regions are safer for cohabitation than others - there is a clairvoyant who delivers a warning that an mysterious force will threaten vampires’ supremacy, but they’re dismissed as a lunatic - vampires begin to become sick and die from feeding off particular humans, humans who have a unique blood mutation that makes them super-human- the trace amount of venom from a vampire bite activates this mutation in a human carrier - a vampire leader emerges, vowing to find the source of this mutation and eliminate it for the safety of their kind - a sympathetic human volunteers to help despite backlash from others, unknowing that they are a carrier of this mutation

Plot 170: Heist Help

When Muse A posts about their financial struggles on social media, they expect a handful of sympathy likes and a couple of encouraging comments from friends and strangers alike. What they don’t expect is a DM from an unfamiliar account (Muse B’s), promising a fast cash source if they’re truly desperate. Muse A is certain that this offer has to be something obscene, which they’re not willing to do no matter what, but Muse B insists that there’s nothing seedy involved. All they ask is that Muse A meet them in person to discuss details if they’re serious. Muse A leaves the DM unanswered for a few days, until an unwanted reminder of their money troubles shows up. Muse A agrees to meet with Muse B somewhere public and when they get to talking, Muse B reveals that they’ve been planning to steal from their boss who’s slighted them in some way [passed over for a promotion, subject of harassment, etc.], but they need someone else to do it so they won’t be easily connected to the crime. Neither Muse A or Muse B are expert criminals; Muse A has never so much as stolen a piece of candy from a store but the money is too appealing not to try. Plus, Muse B seems confident that this will work. Muse B lets Muse A into the target’s house during a social event with instructions on how to find the boss’ money stash and where to meet them later on to split it.
