Troopers jumping on droids!
Tumblr media
PT: Revenge of the Sith
8/10 — Hoppy-hoppy action like a pro, rides that bucking bronco, strong finish with an impressive death-dealing follow-through! (But a bit derivative…)
Tumblr media
TCW: S3E20 Citadel Rescue
10/10 — Bonus points for Cody being my fave! Leaps on with total confidence and just flattens that fucker, powerful thighs confirmed with the impressive display of balance throughout, delightfully cocky hop off for the dismount! (Clearly also the inspiration for the 212th trooper’s efforts above …his subordinates all aspire to someday be as badass as their commander)
Tumblr media
TCW: S2E13 Voyage of Temptation
9/10 — Rex does everything with flair and this is no exception! Solid boot plant on the head, dramatic camera up-shot, gracefully swishing skirt, magnificent dual blaster action makes this an A+ addition (two points deducted since droid already took a flying lightsaber to the face/legs so Rex has an advantage going in, one point added back to his score for the truly adorable little look back over his shoulder to make sure he had a properly attentive audience for his badass heroics…)
And of course, my personal favorite….
Tumblr media
TCW: S2E9 Grievous Intrigue
38/10 — WTF Cody you absolute maniac, all else fails, sure, just flying tackle Grievous, problem-solving-skills for the win…that gratuitous but amazingly badass kick off the wall to get him enough height to climb that ridiculously tall bantha-fucker for an overhead tackle, the other two equally-crazy 212th troopers who are just waiting for their chance and dogpile on right after their insane commander, and then, of course, this icon of perfection just punches General Grievous right in his stupid, metal FACE. Impeccable.
COMMANDER CODY IS FLAWLESS IN EVERY WAY.

I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT  Choose Your Destiny:  An Obi-Wan & Anakin Adventure and so I need to yell about them. Especially because the theme of Anakin’s anger is running all throughout this book, where in at least three separate times he lashes out from anger and hurts someone in a very significant way:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where this gets really interesting is that the book also comes with a lot of Anakin expressing his feelings and frustration at other points, he’s annoyed or frustrated or even sometimes angry, but he clearly isn’t hurting anyone or putting them in danger.  He’s also happy or excited or eager, which he doesn’t get any flak for, either. And it’s contrasted with Obi-Wan being pretty frustrated and annoyed at several points in the book as well.  Even in the climax of the book, he is explicitly and clearly very angry at the reveal of finally capturing the enemy wearing the Jedi Temple Guard mask:
Tumblr media
Anakin can feel the torment, rage, hurt, and anger within Obi-Wan.  And why does no one give him shit about it, despite that Bant and Mace Windu are right there?  Because it’s not about that, it’s never been about denying that sometimes people get angry.  It’s not about that they don’t trust Anakin or treat him unfairly. It’s because Obi-Wan lowers his lightsaber and gets himself back under control. He doesn’t fling anyone into a wall to knock them out (like Anakin did at least three times in this book), he doesn’t bring the ceiling down on their heads when he lashes out with the Force (as Anakin also did), but instead he lowers his weapon, calms the hell down, and acts out of a good place, instead of an angry place.  If he had knocked Bant into a coral bulkhead like Anakin had done, then, yeah, he should get reprimanded and told to get himself under control. This is further evidenced by how the only time the “Jedi Code” is used in this book–despite that, if the Jedi didn’t allow emotions, when Anakin lashes out, they could easily say, “Jedi aren’t supposed to have emotions!” but they don’t, they say, “Get yourself under control!”–is when he’s trying to reach the Force to hear its whisper.  It’s never associated with telling Anakin to stop feeling things, not even when Anakin literally collapses the room around them and Yoda has to save them from getting crushed.  All that they say is after that terrible display of how emotions can literally put people in danger, is, “You must learn to control your emotions.” That’s it, that’s what the Jedi want. To calm your fucking tits before you hurt someone, given all that power roiling through you.

i adore battlefront ii so much, just for the 'I'M IN STAR WARS' factor but it bugs me that the capital ships aren't to scale with the starfigthers, meep. i get why - gameplay etc - but i want to be overwhelmed by a rebpublic star destroyer darn it!
I can’t fault them for making the gameplay more workable, it’s almost assuredly the better choice, but I hear you on this, I wish there was a way to really grasp the sheer SCALE of those capital ships! You know what I would especially love?  One of those VR games letting you get closer and closer and closer to a Republic Cruiser or a Star Destroyer or the Supremacy until you’re just completely OVERWHELMED and it fills your entire field of vision.IMAGINE THIS, EXCEPT IT

I REALLY LOVE THE PARALLELS AND CONTRASTS GOING ON HERE??? When you read the Obi-Wan and Jango comics back to back, you see the parallels of two characters teaching those who are going to be their legacy in the early days of that training.  You see two characters attacked and their young charge held hostage and the mentor/father trusting that their charge can handle themselves–and they do rise to the occasion. You see two characters who are in similar circumstances, who genuinely care about their charges, and yet in some ways could not be more different. Jango explicitly doesn’t care about the other clones, they’re not his project, nor is he part of the Mandalorian culture even as far back as the making of AOTC.  Meanwhile, Obi-Wan is very much a Jedi and part of their culture and cares deeply about the religion/culture he is part of. Jango and Boba are attacked because of who they are, bounty hunters who have made a lot of enemies in the galaxy through their actions and the profession they chose.  The alien woman they’re kidnapping (to take back to her father) isn’t someone they’re helping, they’re stunning her and dragging her back. Obi-Wan and Anakin are attacked because of what they are, that Jedi are inherently in danger in the galaxy because people want Force-sensitive slaves and test subjects as previous comics have established, because Jedi lightsabers will fetch a good price, not because of anything they’ve done to these pirates.  The alien woman they helped asked for them to be there and is better off for their help. Both Obi-Wan and Jango praise Anakin and Boba, they both have legacy looming over them, but the entire point of the Obi-Wan comic was him adapting to what Anakin needs from him, talking to him genuinely and with warmth.  Jango instead is focused on that legacy, about what he wants Boba to be, about what he cares about, isolated from any kind of bigger culture or family. Similar stories, COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CHARACTERS, they echo and rhyme even in their inverted stories of each other.

That original concept for III Padme wearing a red sash and her newborn twins slung on her back going after Anakin on Mustafar to kill him herself with a knife in her hand while P!nk’s “So What” plays in the background was so in character and they should have kept it

Debuting on the all-new StarWarsKids.com and the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel on November 30, the first six shorts combine original dialogue, music, and sound effects with bold new animations, and fun and educational add-ons designed to help older fans, parents, and other mentors to welcome the kids in their lives to explore the galaxy far, far away. Additional shorts featuring fan-favorite characters will debut in December, with regular releases following in 2019.
“With Galaxy of Adventures, we wanted to craft something that allowed parents to help their kids take their first step into a much larger world whether they were ready to show their kids the films or wanted to find new ways to explore the content,” James Waugh, Lucasfilm’s vice president for franchise content and strategy, tells StarWars.com.
The dynamic animated adventures are only part of a multi-pronged initiative under the Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures banner, and the beginning of a year-long celebration of Star Wars storytelling, which will culminate with the final chapter in the Skywalker saga — Star Wars: Episode IX — in theaters December 2019.
