If I had a nickel for every time Rhys Darby played a pathetic guy named Ste_e trying to figure out a life at sea who falls in love with a hot, leather-wearing, crop-top-enjoying POC pirate captain that doesn’t wanna be a pirate anymore with a badass sea creature pseudonym and has a cute lil picnic in the jungle with them with a lil make-believe restaurant/picnic game, who also gets a rich British asshole who wanted to hunt him for sport stabbed through the right eyeball to kill him I’d have 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
“What if he’s not fine?”
“He will be, as long as he wakes up soon.”
“Ok, thanks. Love you man.” Ed patted Roach’s arm. “Let me know if anyone else is hurt, okay?”
“Of course.”
Ed listened to the door creak as Roach left the pitch-black room. He turned back to his bed, reaching out to hold the man’s hand and hoping he would wake up soon.
Chapter 3 will be posted around this same time next week, so be on the lookout for that!

Stories loooove to have someone get hit over the head and dramatically pass out but no one ever wants to the deal with the concussion that comes afterward
