The cake can be any cake but for reference the moss you can make in the microwave here is the recipe I used:

And the mushrooms on top are cookeis tat I made both for a separate batch and for the cake which are these:

To make the red mushrooms I use recipe number 2, but in addition to the chocolate glaze, I make a different dip which is red candy melts and then sprinkling crushed almonds onto it to look like this https://www.pinterest.com/pin/453596993723835140/ (So I didnt use this recipe just used the visual as inspo)
If Im talking about the wrong moss cake, you can again make any cake- but just with said edible cake moss, and then fruits, flowers, pansies, etc! We usually make my moms chocolate cake for all of these but I don't have the recipe on hand- and the decor should work with any chocolate cake you like

Hello pidgie, I will be direct: I'm making a research to detect the birth and development of the aesthetic tag "cottagecore" here on tumblr at old days, and I spoted this post from you: https://www.tumblr.com/pidgie-core/162349154902/night-at-the-village-observatory
any chance you remember where did you found this term firstly? or if was it a idea of yours?
Hello! A bit of an interesting question but- I think the truth is that when the term started becoming popular and I saw the images and aesthetic associated with it, I fell in love because it was always an aesthetic I've loved already for a while and felt close to. A lot of people seem to feel that the whole 'core' thing is new- but honestly I feel like it was a way of simply naming and categorizing pre existing aesthetics. My love of fairies, cottages, gardens, and plants gives me comfort as it reminds me of my childhood even though I never grew up in a cottage. And even though not everything I posted would go under cottagecore- in a way it was just a something to automatically insert into tags of posts, for people with similar interests to find images they enjoyed. My blog specifically was meant to be something pertaining only photographs I had taken, whereas stuff I reblogged would go to my other main accounts. And the naming of my account a 'pidgie-core' was also inspired by the whole 'core' aesthetic thing. It was this idea that well- not everything I post or take a photo of is hyper specific to this aesthetic- but it doesn't matter really because, it can simply fit into your personal aesthetic with all of its multitudes. Not cottagecore or gardencore but, 'you'core, if that makes sense.
In a funny way it also connects me to my family's roots- back in our home country my extended family lives in a village. The nostalgia and love and adoration I feel for this rural life, not just for how simple it is, how close to nature it is, but how close it is to a distant part of me, to my ethnic roots, to my ancestors who have been indigenous to that land. 'cottagecore' was a little inaccurate because cottages tend to have a much more idealized European aspect, a little village in Armenia doesn't carry that same charm, but it has its own pre existing charm that carries equal if not more value for me.
It sounds funny but maybe the best way I can summarize this is I had two Renaissance fair outfits. One was a sage green fairy in a while dress and a corset covered in little hummingbirds, and the other was a custom made traditional Armenian taraz outfit inspired by my ethnic heritage. I love both outfits, one because it connects me to my roots in ways that make me feel beautiful, and the other because it gives me a sense of otherworldly whimsy that I don't exist within, but deeply enjoy.
