I don’t think you’ve understood a single word I’ve said, and frankly, it’s like talking to a brick wall that takes your words and spits them back in a random order.
You are clearly an Amity Stan. I don’t have a problem with Amity as a character, but I hate just about any type of character stans to begin with, because— as demonstrated here— they are generally incapable of letting their faves have flaws.
Maybe one day you will recognize it is good for characters to have flaws, because without flaws, there is nothing to grow from.
It’s fine to headcanon Boscha posted and captioned those pictures on Amity’s scroll, but from a literary standpoint you have to understand there’s a rule in writing. Two, actually, that I think could apply: Show, don’t tell and Chekhov’s Gun.
If Boscha had really been the one to post or caption those pictures, there would have to be a verbal or visible nod to this for it to be considered canon. They would have to show it. An example would be, having Boscha ask if she can caption another photo for Amity.
Amity’s distant behaviour isn’t a sign she didn’t write the posts, it’s just a sign she is generally unhappy.
Additionally— the photos are used to motivate Willow to act recklessly because Amity used to be her friend. The significance of the photos in the first place is the rift between Willow and Amity. Willow doesn’t mention Boscha at all. It’d essentially be retconning it by having it be Boscha who wrote the posts all along.
As for the “humans can bite it” comment— Boscha literally wasn’t present for that. That scene happens after they’ve animated the house and Luz is expressing hesitance in showing off to Amity.
And it happens directly after we see Boscha on her way to Amity’s house. (They prank Boscha with the house and Boscha screams and runs off terrified.)
Boscha couldn’t have had anything to do with that. She couldn’t have posted on Amity’s penstagram, and she just got threatened by what she thinks is a talking, walking house that could crush her— bullying Luz is low on her priority list.
Also, don’t write threateningly-worded messages, especially if they’re in response to something you don’t understand.
Essentially: Hunter and Amity are character parallels. The show drew that parallel for a reason. Amity was able to see herself in Hunter’s struggles. That’s why she extends sympathy in the first place.
But Hunter saw an opportunity to go home, and his illusions weren’t shattered enough for him to accept her lifeline. That’s fine.
It took Amity more than once to accept Luz’s lifeline. If she didn’t at least try to give Hunter a second chance after he rejected her first lifeline, she would be hypocritical by definition.
The show didn’t do that, thankfully, because they didn’t want to make Amity a hypocrite— nor did they have the time for that drama.
also, just a p.s: TVTropes classifies Amity squashing King’s cupcake as Evil is Petty, in which “taking candy from a baby” falls under. In which a character who is a antagonist, minor or major, does some things solely for the sake of being a dick. That was absolutely Amity lashing out, and since King did nothing to deserve it, it was bullying.
You seem like someone who would argue with calling Amity an antagonist, so here’s the definition: “The principal character in opposition to the protagonist or hero of a narrative or drama”
Amity 100% starts out opposing Luz & Co, much like Lilith, and therefore is an antagonist. Though she later joins the main cast and gets redeemed.
honestly I think Amity would feel a little hypocritical if she held such a major grudge against Hunter, bc sharing a voice actress does not make Amity into Katara.
Katara was a fundamentally good person from the start bc she had the means and the opportunity, and she was never afraid of anything as long as she had hope. Katara never did anything remotely similar to Zuko’s actions, let alone betrayed someone willing to give them a chance, so she had the right to make that speech to Zuko. Especially bc Zuko kinda helped his sister kill Aang and sent an assassin after them.
yes, Hunter threatened Luz and made Amity give up the key, but Amity was in a similar situation before. she let her “friends” bully Willow for years, and bullied Willow herself in their shared debut episode, because she was scared of her parents and failure. She almost had Luz dissected.
Amity is not some perfect person who’d be in the position to judge his actions, and she knows that. She’s been rebuilding the scraps of her friendship with Willow, and Willow and Luz both seem to trust Hunter in some way or another. I don’t think she’d be too shy about giving him a second chance if he showed he wanted to change. I can see her being hesitant that he might hurt her friends but all it would take is for her friends to say “well trust me on this” and she’d be like “okay I’ll try”
even if she was suspicious of him, chances are Hunter would be more suspicious of her being nice to him.
like Amity would be frustrated with him in the way she’s frustrated at her past self. she won’t exactly be giving a speech about how she’ll kill him if he hurts Luz.
amity has never been a perfect person and one time she literally lit Willow’s mind on fire. Willow has every reason to have trust issues but she trusts Hunter, and because of that Amity would at least try.

Your post doesn’t make a whole lot of sense in context. Your phrasing seems… odd. Like you’re correcting me on things I didn’t even mention. Amity most certainly was a bully. Her very first appearance is her, without anyone (to her knowledge) watching, making Willow feel shitty for her failed abomination. This was not really “protecting” Willow so much as it was protecting Amity. Her being traumatized does not change that.
Amity deserved to be mean to Luz? What the hell does that mean? You aren’t owed the pleasure of being mean to someone. If you aren’t happy with someone, that’s fair. You’re not obligated to be nice— being mean is a different subject.
Not being nice is like, refusing to swap pleasantries. Refusing to be polite.
Being mean is squashing the cupcake that belongs what you think is a pet, and is really an 8-year-old child. Being mean is, needlessly, posting something online you don’t think someone [Luz] will ever see and insulting them. (“#humanscanbiteit”)
Luz didn’t have a scroll or a penstragram. That was mean for the sake of mean. Does that mean Amity is a bad person? No, it means she’s 14 and traumatized. She was still a bully, and she was still mean.
Also, Amity may not have ever wanted to join the Emperor’s Coven— but she had, at that point, convinced herself she had. Self-gaslighting, if you will. At the end of Season 1, she had still “wanted” to join.
The point of my post was that Amity is in no place to judge Hunter, and she isn’t. She isn’t in any position to distrust him anymore than anyone else is, because a few months ago she was willing to dissect Luz. (And, objectively, Hunter was in a worse situation.)
The two of them are similar. They were both in bad situations and they both handled things badly and hurt others because of it.
honestly I think Amity would feel a little hypocritical if she held such a major grudge against Hunter, bc sharing a voice actress does not make Amity into Katara.

okay so I thought writing that fix-it drabble would make me Normal again and not upset about The Collector’s ending, but actually apparently I wasn’t normal! I had more things to say. here’s an actually happy ending for The Collector.
5 things The Collector doesn’t think he understands, +1 thing he’s starting to.

The collector fans got absolutely cheated by that finale. I will Not elaborate JIC some people haven’t seen it yet, but I think the collector’s ending is my biggest problem with the finale.

everyone is talking about the TOH pilot's audio and whatnot being leaked. here's my two cents: I think it's supposed to be spelled Pollena, not Paulina. like Pollen.

you know, I know Luz’s Palisman is a unique one and all, but we’re not forgetting that this,
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is also a Palisman, and she:
Can speak English. Is this because she’s at least partially a humanoid head? We won’t have time to find out :’)
Can store things in her body in a similar fashion to Hooty
Is really rich.
Gave birth??? Maybe from her mouth? And her baby was a Russian nesting doll situation??
Her babies are babies, when all other Palismen seem “fully grown”. Are they gonna stay that way? Will they grow up?
Her babies can breathe fire.
She can (seemingly) telepathically connect to dozens of Palismen at a time.
we also can’t forget that:
Palisman take on the physical characteristics of whatever they’re carved into. Owlbert, Flapjack, BQ, Clover, etc can fly outside of their staff form because they physically have wings. Owlbert hoots and Flapjack chirps. BQ can hang upside down. Emmeline can stick to surfaces. Ghost appears to radiate more warmth because all the other Palismen curl up to her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stringbean was carved into an unspecified kind of egg. Most Palismen have a specific form with specific characteristics because they’re carved that way, but she didn’t. Palismen inherently can be any shape, because they can be carved into anything. And they’re pretty powerful to begin with— the Bat Queen is an unusual example, but even outside of her, Flapjack was able to merge with Hunter, Owlbert is interchangeable with a spoon, etc.
