I thought this was primarily MCU MJ?! The art/image of Peter/MJ doesn’t look like black MJ. 😔
As mentioned previously, spideychelle week has been officially rebranded petermj week and will now celebrate ALL versions of Peter Parker and MJ Watson. While it is expected (and fully supported!!!) that MCU MJ will be primary source of inspiration and creation, other versions of MJ are welcome!
Though to be fair, and not to speak fully for @missamyshay, the version of Peter and MJ depicted in the image are a dusty pink and burgundy. If you wish to envision her as MCU MJ, you absolutely should! If you see another version, that's also welcome.
The one thing that won't be welcome, as has been stated many times before, is racism against MCU MJ within works accepted into the week. Creating for another version of Peter and MJ within the multiverse is great. Inserting in a white MJ into the MCU to replace the MJ we have is not.

im so very new to this challenge so i’m just wondering—you have to include every prompt listed for each day, right? i’m used to whumptober type deals where it’s very mix-and-match so i just want some further clarification
sorry if it’s an obvious answer! i know some prompts tie into each other but some look like they could be different? and i just wanted to know. thanks in advance! :)
Great question!
One of the benefits of including similar prompts together is that you don’t have to include all of them!
For example, Day 4 is Break Up/Make Up | Second Chances which could mean:
Peter and MJ breaking up
Peter and MJ break ups over the years
Peter and MJ making up
Peter and MJ having never dated but (finally) getting together
Peter and MJ being strangers (like a missed connection) and then getting the second chance
While you can absolutely try and include the prompts together for the day, they’re more meant to capture the same vibe™️ and allow for some creativity!

There isn’t a current plan to have one but if there’s enough interest, I can definitely create one!
There is a spider-man all media types server that’s welcome for anyone to join. It is not PeterMJ specific, but the respect of all Peter’s (and all MJ’s) is a given (plus welcome to multi shippers!)

Can the polyamorous ship Peter x MJ x Harry be in this event?
Great question!
Although Peter and MJ are a little in love with all their friends (and all their friends are a little in love with them), this is strictly a Peter and MJ week on their relationship.
This week was primarily created to celebrate the MCU iteration in part of because of fandom’s racism and exclusion of MCU MJ. With the name change to reflect the canonical respect that she should be given, it has now expanded to include all iterations of Peter and MJ.
Peter and MJ should be the main and central pairing of any creation, though side characters appearing is welcome and encouraged!

What happened to spideychelle week?
This IS spideychelle week, with a name that befits the canonical and endgame love interest of Peter Parker— Michelle Jones-Watson
Does this mean I have to create something for another version of Peter and MJ? I only like the MCU version.
Nope! This week is and always has been a celebration of the MCU version of Peter and MJ and tbh, don’t see that changing much! If you DO like other versions (or write some kind of blend), you’re welcome to create for them in this week too!
Why change the name then? Isn’t that confusing?
Names matter. Names have meaning. No disrespect intended to the creators of the spideychelle name but intentionally separating MCU Peter and MJ away from every other version has only ever helped feed into and sustain the racism that fandom has had about her for years. MCU MJ is MJ and always has been. Why continue to help further that divide that still exists almost 7 years later?
I don’t like the MCU version of MJ / I don’t think that she’s a real MJ / I’ll create for the other versions but don’t wanna acknowledge her
Michelle Jones-Watson in the MCU is the MJ Watson of that universe. If you write in a white MJ into the MCU, your work will not be included and you will be banned from future events.
Giving credit and respect to MCU MJ as being one of the many iterations of MJ across the multiverse and expanding this week to include other versions of Peter and MJ is not a free pass for your racist fantasies.
I like the spideychelle name and I’m still gonna use it.
Cool! We can’t tell you what to do. Absolutely no one can or will stop you. The fandom name “spideychelle” will always exist.
Going forward, this week will be called PeterMJ-Week.
