I've dug some old unpainted chaos space marine models out of the basement. Decided to try something new and paint them as Alpha Legion. I based the colour scheme on Duncan Rhodes' army in the 6th ed chaos codex. So finally, after a bit of delay, i can annonuce my ambull complete. I had a blast painting this model. I love that blackstone fortress gives GW the opertunity to showcase the more obscure and bizzare parts of the 40k universe. And not just having it be space marines all the damn time. 40k galaxy is a huge place, so seeing all the different creatures that inhabit it is great fun. So you may have been wondering where i have been the past few days. Im holding the answer tight here here in my hands. I just finished painting the last details, this has been one big labour of love through and through. I dont even play chaos, but when i saw Duncan Rhodes' painting video i was just hit with a moment of pure inspiration. So i went down to my local store and got one. I then spent the last 8 days building and painting him up. I love this model, all of it. Just got dobe with giving my ambull a drybrushung and than a overall wash with everyones favorite liquid skill, agrax earthshade. While i still have a good way to go, at this stage he is what most people would call tabletop ready. Almost finished the initial basecoat and general outline of my ambull model. Im going for a lore earthy colour scheme, as i dont think the oastel blue on the box art fits the look of a real animal. And finally, here is my warboss. I finished this guy back in 2015, a lot has happened since then, but its great to see your evolution as a painter. I did a lot of things with this guy i wouldn't do today. I actually really love this sculpt, the old assault on black reach was an amazing set.
