Birds of Prey Drama Track 1 - The Future Is Now
Pt. 4
Tumblr media
— Ōta City, D.R.B. Registration Center —
[It had been over a week since Chinami had received the Hypnosis Microphones. During that time, she had made sure to train her sisters relentlessly, hoping the ideal of what the Division Rap Battles was all about would sink into their skulls. Fortunately, her work seemed to pay off. Though her younger sisters were by no means masters, they seemed experienced enough to, at least, hold their own in a real rap battle.]
[Very soon, the deadline for the registration had come. Which would explain why three sisters now found themselves outside the registration center. It stood as a modern colossus in the heart of Ōta, its sleek glass facade reflecting the bustling city life. A digital marquee scrolled above the entrance, flashing the names of the teams already registered, a constant reminder of the competition within.]
[Chinami, Kira, and Taria approached, their steps slowing as they took in the enormity of the building and the finality of their decision. The center's lobby is visible through the transparent walls, a hive of activity as teams of all sizes check in at the sleek terminals manned by efficient staff.]
[All three sisters had different thoughts in their mind as they stared at the building in all its glory. Taria was more pissed than anything. Her mind returned to the night when Kira basically forced her into this whole mess...]
— Chinen Residence, Kira's Room —
[After ordering Taria to her room shortly after Chinami had revealed the letter forcing her to join the D.R.B., the police investigator patiently waited in the middle of the room for her younger sister to come in.]
Taria: *Enters* Okay, I'm here. Now...
Kira: *Holds up a hand* Close the door. I don't want Nami hearing us.
[Frowning and groaning, the younger sister obeyed and close the door to the bedroom, albeit a little harder than necessary as it slammed shut. This did little to affect Kira, however, who continued standing in the middle of the room, her arms crossed, scowling at her younger sister.]
Taria: *Turns back around* Okay, there. Now, can you please explain to me what was so important you had to embarrass me in front of Chinami like that?
Kira: *Give a stark laugh* Ha! Embarrass you? That's what you call 'embarrassing you'? I would have thought you did enough of that all on your own.
Taria: *Confused* What? What the hell are you talking about?
[Instead of answering, Kira reached behind her on her desk for something. Feeling around, she found what she was looking for and put in front of her younger sister's face. It was a newspaper. But not just any newspaper, it was today's issue, written and printed by Iseri, with the headline reading: "MISFIT IN ACTION STRIKES AGAIN!"]
Kira: Look familiar?
[Looking at the newspaper, Taria was surprised to see the picture of her in her vigilante attire, depicting her jumping from rooftop to rooftop. She wondered who it was that got such a good shot of her; they were really good at photography.]
Taria: Well... I'm glad they got my good side, at least.
Kira: ...What?
Taria: *Smiling at the picture* Yeah. I don't know who writes or publishes this, but they've got pretty good picture skills.
Kira: *Barely managing to hold back her anger* Taria...
Taria: What?! ...Oh, right. Okay, and? What's the big deal? I'm doing what the police can't. I'm dispensing my own brand of justice.
Kira: *Is appalled* ...Justice? Justice?! You call breaking the law 'justice'?! Running around dressed up like its Halloween every night, risking the safety of our family?! I mean, you've done some pretty dumb things in your time, Taria. But this?! What the hell were you thinking?!
Taria: Hey! *Suddenly upset* Don't push it, Kira! You've no right to judge what I do when you're working for the goddamn police! There are real criminals out there doing whatever the hell they want, while you all sit on your asses letting them get away with it! I'm just doing what you all can't or won't do it! I saved an innocent woman from being mugged two nights ago because nobody was out there to save her. Like it or not, what I do is justice!
Taria: *Folds her arms* And if you and your precious police force had a spine, you'd see that.
Kira: *Her voice a low growl* Justice? How easily you use that word when you don't even know what it fully means! You're out there playing vigilante while our family hangs by a thread!
Taria: And whose fucking fault is that?! Chinami's the one who got herself tangled up with Chuohku. If she had kept her head down instead of doing those little "premonitions" of hers, they'd have had no reason to seek her out and force her into that stupid rap tournament!
Kira: *Sarcastic* Oh, so now it's Nami's fault? Because she's doing the best she can with what she has, it's her fault that she's in trouble, or that your name is plastered all over the papers?
Taria: Yeah, whatever. Deny it all you want sis, but the fact remains: her 'gift', it's done the same thing that it did to us in the past... it's cursed us all!
Kira: *Her voice a hiss of suppressed rage* Don't you dare blame Chinami for this. She's done nothing but protect us. Even when she lost everything, she was still there for us.
[A bitter laugh came from the throat of the vigilante, a sound that echoed with years of hurt and abandonment.]
Taria: *Mockingly* Protect us? Is that what you call it? She smothered us, Kira! And don't even try to deny it! That's why you left so soon after I did! Because you got tired of her playing "mother" just like I did. And I find it ironic that she did all that when she spent most of her time with dad!
Taria: *Points an accusatory finger at Kira* And you… you're no better than she is! You joined the very force that's turned a blind eye to our mother's disappearance!
[At her sister's words, Kira's facade cracked, the pain of her own guilt and helplessness bleeding through.]
Kira: ...Is that what you think? You think I've just been sitting around doing nothing?
Taria: *Still with her arms folded* Do you deny it?
Kira: I joined the police to find answers! You don't know what it was like for me after being discharged from the army, Taria. I needed some semblance of duty and order back into my life. That's one of the reasons I joined the police: because the structure was relatively the same as the army.
Kira: But I also joined because I knew that if there was any place I'd be able to find out about mother's disappearance, it would be there. That's why I didn't turn down the promotion to being an investigator, even though it was basically forced on me. I knew that if I had an investigator's connections, I could look in places one couldn't normally look.
Taria: *Voice rising* Then tell me, with all your so-called "connections", why haven't you found mother yet?
Kira: I'm still searching for her, Taria! You think its easy to just find a woman whose been missing for over 10 years? ...I do want to find her, Taria. I want to do something. Anything.
[Hearing her sister's tone, Taria's expression softened for a moment, the shared pain of their mother's loss a bond that, despite everything, held them together.]
Taria: *Her voice softer, but still laced with defiance* Then help me. Help me find her, Kira. Not as a cop, but as my sister. ...Please.
[Kira's gaze shifted to the newspaper, to the image of her younger sister in disguise, a symbol of her sister's misguided quest for justice.]
Kira: *Resolutely* I will help you, Taria. ...But not like this. This... *Gestures to the newspaper* ...this isn't the way.
[Taria crumpled the newspaper in her hand, her defiance wilting under the weight of her sister's gaze, her heart a tumultuous sea of guilt and desperation.]
Taria: *Her voice breaking, a whisper of vulnerability* Then what do you want from me, Kira?
[Kira leaned in, her eyes locked on Taria's, a silent vow etched in her gaze, the gravity of her next words heavy with unspoken promises and threats.]
Kira: *Firmly, resolutely* You will join Chinami and I in the D.R.B. You will use your… talents for something greater than petty thievery.
[Taria's eyes widened, the realization of her limited options dawning on her, the walls closing in.]
Taria: *Her voice a mix of anger and resignation* And if I refuse? What then? Will you turn me in?
[The middle sister's expression softened for a moment, a glimpse of the sisterly love that lay beneath the hardened exterior of the soldier.]
Kira: *Softly, yet with an edge of steel* I should. ...But I won't. Because despite everything, you're my sister. And we protect our own.
[Taria's shoulders slumped, the fight draining from her as the reality of her situation set in, her spirit caged by circumstance and familial duty.]
Taria: *Bitterly, the words a heavy surrender* ...Fine. I'll do it. For Chinami, and for our family. ...But this isn't over, Kira. Not by a long shot.
[The sisters stood in silence, a new understanding forged in the crucible of their confrontation. They were bound by blood, by secrets, and now, by a common cause that neither of them had chosen but both would see through to the end.]
Current time...
— Ōta City, D.R.B. Registration Center —
Chinami: *Her voice steady, yet tinged with an undercurrent of concern* Once we step through those doors, our fates are sealed. Are we truly prepared for what lies ahead?
[Kira's gaze was fixed on the entrance, her hands clenched into fists at her sides, the weight of her secret adding gravity to her resolve.]
Kira: *Firmly, masking her own trepidation* We have no choice. We must see this through, for our own sakes.
[Taria shuffled her feet, her eyes darting to the bustling street behind them, the temptation to flee a siren call she struggled to ignore.]
Taria: *Bitterly, her usual defiance softened by the gravity of the moment* I never wanted this… any of it. But I won't let you face it alone. Not now.
[They exchanged glances, a silent pact forming between them. With a collective breath, they stepped forward, their shadows merging into one as they approached the doors.]
Chinami: *Resolutely, as they reach for the door* Together, then. For better or worse.
[The doors swung open, the light from within spilling out and enveloping them, a symbolic crossing from the known into the unknown...]
To be continued...

Division Rap Battle (Birds of Prey & Last Judgment Ver.)
Bring the Beat!
[All:]
We hereby declare to fight with all our might
We are determined and invincible ruffians
Our words are machine guns
Or compasses that lead us to the future
We’re the trinity, it’s showtime
We engrave our style in history
A DNA vessel wandering life and death
We’ll follow our instincts, say what?
Tumblr media
[Birds of Prey:]
One, two, three, Ōta Division
[Chinami:]
Represent Ōta City!
Homies, we are Birds of Prey
We're the true value of certainty
[Birds of Prey:]
Welcome to the Division
One, two, three, Ōta Division
[Chinami:]
Represent Ōta City!
[Kira:]
Homies, we are Birds of Prey!
[Taria:]
We will never be caged!
[Birds of Prey:]
Welcome to the Division
[Chinami:]
Welcome to my humble tent, please take a seat
You wish to know your future? Well, you're in for a treat
I'm a scryer, I can see all that has yet to transpire
Though at the end, you'll accuse me of bring a fraud or a liar
I have to keep my secrets, and my visions to myself
I can't share them with anyone, not even with family
I have to be careful, discreet, and wise
'Cause some things are better left unsaid, or disguised
But as a diviner, this is my life
I have a passion, purpose, as well as a drive
I thank you for this session, please come again
And now, I'll let Huntress take the mic to represent
[Kira:]
I'm a woman of justice, I'm an investigator!
I solve the mysteries, watching out for perpetrators
I don't take no for an answer, I don't back down from a fight
I stand up for what's right, protecting my sisters with all my might!
'Cause being a woman is not easy, we face a lot of challenges
We have to deal with prejudice, violence, and injustices
But we are not weak, helpless, or afraid
I could say more, but Misfit wants to come out and play
[Taria:]
I'm a woman of power, I'm a vigilante!
I fight crime better the cops; they're the real tyranny!
I don't wear a cape, a mask, and definitely not a suit!
I go by the name of Misfit, and I'm oh-so cute
Yeah, I'm the youngest sister. But so what?!
I could still knock you out with absolutely no fuss
I won't be ignored, overlooked, or dismissed
And if you try to do these, you'll be eating my fist!
Tumblr media
[Last Judgment:]
One, two, three, Ginza Division
[Masa:]
Represent Ginza City!
Homies, we are Last Judgment
You'd best pray for forgiveness
[Last Judgment:]
Welcome to the Division
One, two, three, Ginza Division
[Masa:]
Represent Ginza City!
[Eiji:]
Homies, we are Last Judgment
[Oki:]
We're the last faces you'll ever see!
[Last Judgment:]
Welcome to the Division
[Masa:]
Be welcome to my church, you poor, lost soul
I'm the Father of my flock, and I seek to console
Please sit down and tell me what has happened to you
You've lost control of your life, and you don't know what to do?
No, please don't despair, I'm a man of faith
I preach peace and lead my flock, keeping them all safe
I don't lose hope or give up, so neither should you
Just trust in the Father, and he will make you 'new'
With love, compassion and a little wordplay
I will help to show you a much brighter way
But such a process it may take a long while
So Eiji, take over, while I deal with this wayward child
[Eiji:]
I'm a man of vision, I'm a CEO
Sigma Inc., we're dedicated to making the world glow
I don't have time to settle, take a break or rest
I innovate, I create, and I always invest
My little girl, I don't know what it is that's plaguing you
But I swear, you will live a life doing what you want to do
So there's no time to stop and time to relax
I have to work to do. So I'll introduce ATLAS to make a comeback
[Oki:]
I may have disappeared for a while, but I'm back again
To show you sorry-ass bitches just how to win!
ATLAS is made of skill, I'm always on the attack
Even if I carry the weight of the whole world on my back
People think cause I'm the Titan that I'm under pressure
Because I have to deal with haters, fakers, and lesser
But I'm far from bothered, shaken, or scared
And if you think otherwise, you'd best come prepared!
[All:]
We hereby declare to fight with all our might
We are determined and invincible ruffians
Our words are machine guns
Or compasses that lead us to the future
We’re the trinity, it’s showtime
We engrave our style in history
A DNA vessel wandering life and death
We’ll follow our instincts, say what?

"Sheesh, out of all the songs they had us do, it had to feature us being in a murder mystery."
"Oh, I don't know. I think it suited us fairly well. Especially since you were the criminal in this scenario."
"Why am I always portrayed as the criminal in these stories?!"
"...Taria, think about what it is you do for a living and then ask that question again."

Chibi Birds of Prey (New Year's Ver.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Ugh, this fucking bites!"
"What are you complaining about now?"
"What the hell do you think?! We're stuck here at this f'ing party because of fucking Chuohku and their lame-ass rules!"
"You knew going into this D.R.B. that you'd have to acquiesces to Chuohku's rules, Taria."
"Need I remind you it wasn't my choice to join this stupid rap tournament? And even if it was, did they not think anyone else had things to do?"
"And what exactly did you have planned for this evening, Taria? Besides getting up to your usual mischief?"
"It doesn't fucking matter if I had plans or not! The point is I could be doing something else with my fucking time!"
"You are not the only one upset about this, Taria. Do you have any idea how hard it was to find a babysitter for Jin on New Year's? I wanted to be at home with him right now, but unfortunately, I have to be here."
"...Speaking of which, no one from Chuohku has approached you asking you to join, have they?"
"No, fortunately not."
"Good. After forcing you to join this tournament, them continually asking you to join would be inexcusable."
"True, but knowing Chuohku, we shouldn't celebrate too soon."
"Agreed."
"Ugh, this f'ing blows!"
"...Are you going to be like this all night?"
"If I can fucking help it."
"Well, I'm sorry, but I'd rather not ring in the New Year with a dour mood, so you'll have to excuse me."
"Fine, leave! Kira and I will be fine without you."
"...Chinami, may I accompany you? Taria's bad mood is likely to rub off on me if I stay here any longer."
"By all means."
"Hey, you two can't just leave me here alone!"
"Watch us."
"Fine, screw you two!"
"I really worry about her."
"You and me both."

"I still don't understand why I wasn't allowed to be Santa this year."
"Because last time we let you be Santa, none of the kids got their presents."
"No, the kids got their presents! ...Just not the 'good' ones."
"Wait... you were responsible for the entire fiasco about missing presents disappearing around the town?"
"She played a 'Reverse Santa', and basically stole all of the presents and donated them to a group of misbehaved ruffians."
"Hey! They are not misbehaved! They're... misunderstood."
"Yes, some would say the same of you, Taria."
"Indeed."
"Oh, both of you, shut up!"

Hoodstar+ (Birds of Prey & Last Judgment Ver.)
Bring the Beat!
[All:]
I’m a hoodstar, shine only star
We’re the town’s one and only No.1 bad boys
Check yourself, don’t rush us now
We’ll beat you down for sure this time
Tumblr media
[Chinami:]
A fine day to you, and welcome to Ōta
I hope you will enjoy what our town has to offer
Don't let my blindness make you nervous
My skills and expertise are at your service
[Kira:]
If you need protection, then look to me!
I'm the best cop in Ōta, I guarantee!
No crime or disturbance will evade my eye
My only advice is to 'watch the skies'
[Taria:]
Uh, so boring! Ignore those two!
Stick with me, and I'll show you a good time, boo!
A bunch of things about town are things only I know
Want to know more, stick around after the show
[Birds of Prey:]
Check it out!
Whatever the deal now let's go, baby
Boogie down, walking down
Ōta City represent!
The game's a breeze when your foe's a sucker
Watch and learn, it’s our turn on the set!

I’m a hoodstar, shine only star
We’re the town’s one and only No.1 bad boys

[Masa:]
Ginza City, this land is our Eden
One where we won't accept fools nor cretins
My sheep look to me to be their inspiration
So I'll lead and guide them without hesitation
[Eiji:]
Ginza's not the best city, but it's ours
With hard work and perseverance, we will reach the stars!
Technology and science will make us better
We'll stand above all the rest, no matter the weather!
[Oki:]
I don't care who you are, or where you come from
To all the weak-ass divisions, you chumps are done!
Try your luck against Ginza? What a dumb fuck!
Talk shit about my city, and I'll fuck you up!
[Last Judgment:]
Check it out!
Whatever the deal now let's go, baby
Boogie down, walking down
Ginza City represent!
The game's a breeze when your foe's a sucker
Watch and learn, it’s our turn on the set!
[All:]

We’ll beat you down for sure this time

Chinami's Thoughts on Katsushika Division
Tumblr media
Akihisa Mashiro
Heading home after her daily walk throughout the city, the blind seeress feels the wind pass her as a police car zooms by her. Hearing the siren on the car, she stops and contemplates something. Nodding her head, she heads into her house and to her scrying table, where she places her hands over her crystal ball. She begins reading the fortunes of the infamous Katsushika Division, the DRB.
"Mashiro Akihisa."
Adhering to the name, the crystal ball begins its role of playing out scenes in the person's life. The first scene opens up showing a young Italian boy of six or seven, in a living room, sitting in front of a piano, his fingers on the keys. Beside him is a young woman with similar facial features. She is playing a piece on the instrument with the boy following behind, mimicking her notes and keys. His eyebrows crease as the hardest part of the song comes up. He replays in his mind the correct notes, just as he has done before. He breathes a sigh of relief as he successfully completes it, grateful that he remembered. The older woman beside him hugs him, planting a kiss on his forehead, making the boy smile, happily. The scene ends as they smile at one another.
The scene changes to show an underground dwelling, beneath an aqueduct. Though the place smells due to the murky water and being close to the sewers, it is ideal for a group of organized criminals to hide. Besides, you get used to the smell after a while. A group of people of different body types and genders are either standing around, conversing with others, or honing their skills. Suddenly, they all look as the entrance to their dwelling has been opened. They are expecting another of their own to appear, but instead, a 15-year-old teenager, who obviously looks out of place, walks in, followed by an older gentleman whose face is shrouded by the fedora he wears. He steps inside, following the older man, ignoring the stares, scowls, and glances that he is receiving. This is a new chapter in his life. Tired of his home life, he decided to seek a new family. And here it was: The Holy Sword. Or, as they preferred to be called, The Spada Santa.
The scene changes showing an alleyway, which is currently in the middle of a gunfight between two Italian gangs, one of which is the Spada Santa. Though heavily outnumbered, the SS is holding their on, due in no small part to a familiar Italian man, now in his early 20s. He grimaces as he dodges a stray bullet that would have otherwise been fatal. He wonders how he got in this mess. He had been up for the past two days doing numerous jobs for the SS, and when he thought he could finally head home for some rest, he wounds up getting a delivery job which turns out to be more than such. He wonders if he could just go to sleep for a few minutes. Unfortunately, he is brought out of his stupor by a red-headed woman on the side of him, who makes him scowl. God, how he hated this braggart of a woman. But she was right, unfortunately. Now wasn't the time to rest. Loading a new clip into his gun, he heads back into the fray.
The scene changes to show the familiar Italian man, now in his early 30s, sitting on his knees in despair as he holds the body of a familiar red-headed woman in his arms. How could this have happened? He had finally managed to put his hatred for this woman aside. They were only a few months away from being married, for God's sake! She was going to be his wife! She was going to be the only other woman in his life that he could have proudly say, 'I love you' too! But, alas, fate was too cruel a mistress. It had wiped away any sort of good fortune the man had and took yet another beloved woman away from him. As he stares at the dead woman in his arms, he feels his eyes getting watery as he hugs her close. In this job, you had to learn to keep your emotions in check. Getting angry or sad would get you killed, especially in this line of work. But... for, perhaps, the second time in his life, the Italian man lets loose the emotions inside of him as the scene ends.
The final scene plays out, showing the Italian man now much older. He is sitting in a bar, drinking a glass of cold whiskey. He couldn't recall the last time he had a decent drink, but he sure as hell wasn't complaining. It had been a long time since he had been on the outside. And though it probably wouldn't last long, he was going to enjoy every moment of it, even if it only involved simple things like this. But... now that he has had a chance at freedom for so long, is he really content to just relinquish it again once this job is over? He's on Death's Row, after all. And he knows his life could end any day now. But will he fight to live this life again? Or will he die as he lived: by the sword? Only time will tell...
Touya Kisaragi
"Kisaragi Touya."
The crystal ball acknowledges the name of Japan's most infamous serial killer. The scene opens showing a six-year-old boy sitting in a chair in a wooden chair with a green pillow in what looks like a room for visitors. He was told to sit there and not to move by his parents, so that's what he's going to do. He looked as they both went into a room that looked like an office followed by an elderly old man. Anything to keep them from insulting him, demeaning him, or just looking at him like a pest. He was always taught to stay out of people's way from an early age. He did it so much, it became second nature to him.
After a long time of waiting, the door his parents went in opens and both his mother and father walk out, not even sparing him a passing glance. He notices a large wad of money in his father's hands; where did he get it? He gets up to follow them but is held back by the old man who smiles at him. The boy looks up at him, confused, but watches his parents walk away, all smiles. The scene ends as he watches his parents walk out the door of the building, all without even looking back at him.
The scene changes showing a dark basement with only a single lightbulb as a light source. The door to the basement opens and a green-haired woman walks in, wanting to know if some gentlemen want more time with "Momo-chan". All she gets in response is silence. Confused, she walks down the stairs into the room. What she sees in response, makes her gasp and stare in horror. In the middle of the room were the "gentlemen". However, they were all dead. Covered from head to toe in stab wounds. Some of them were even missing body parts, no doubt cut off from them while they were alive.
But what was really horrifying was the naked figure standing in the middle of the room: a familiar purple-haired boy, holding onto a bloody knife, covered in blood. The woman instantly recognizes him. And why wouldn't she? She had made hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars off of him, using him as a toy for perverted men and women to do with him as they pleased. She had thought him docile, but clearly, she was wrong.
She takes a step back, making plans to retreat to the stairwell. Maybe, if she is quick enough, she can make it upstairs to phone the police. She'll make up an excuse or something. But none of those plans will come to fruition. As she makes a step, the boy instantly reacts, looking at her with his blood-red eyes. He smiles a sadistic and merciless smile. The scene then ends as he pounces on her, with only the woman's scream as a tell-tale sign of the woman's fate.
The scene changes again to show a dark street. A group of four young men and women are walking home, after a night of partying and drinking. They are making a ruckus, having no shame as they loudly make noise, disturbing those that are in their homes, probably sleeping. As they are walking down the street, they spot a figure dabbed in a clock. The figure walks forward, humming a soft tune to themselves. They pay the figure no mind as they cross paths with him. But very soon, screams fill the air, shattering the nighttime's peace.
Within an hour, police have blocked off a crime scene. In the middle of it, the four young adults from before are all lying down, stab wounds covering their bodies. And the most horrifying thing about them is that they are all missing their hearts, which have been ceremoniously and methodically cut out of their bodies. But who could have committed this horrifying act? Unknown to the police, the figure is still nearby, watching them as they do their work. The figure smiles and continues humming the tune that they were humming before as the scene ends.
"London Bridge is falling down… Falling down… Falling down… London Bridge is falling down… My… fair… lady…"
The final scene plays, showing the boy in his current form, watching cartoons while eating a bowl of sugary cereal. He laughs at the antics of the characters on the show, paying no mind to the mess he was making from the milk and cereal, spilling everywhere. While his life is by far nowhere near perfect, compared to his childhood, it is bliss. ...But how long will that remain? Even if he is comfortable now, joy and happiness are fleeting and can be taken away at a moment's notice. Will he be content to live this short, yet happy life? Or will the memories and souls crying out for vengeance put an end to his short existence? Only time will tell...
Rintaro Himura
"Himura Rintaro."
Once more, the crystal ball adheres to the name, and begins playing out the life of the pyromaniac. The first memory plays, showing a young boy of eight or nine in a dirty bathroom, standing over a sink. He looks in the mirror, staring at his own reflection as he examines another mark left by his dear, old father. Ever since his mother left, the guy has done nothing but drink his life away. And in the process, he began abusing the boy for no reason other than simply because he could. The boy looks closely at a bruise forming, and shakes his head. Exiting the bathroom, he heads for his bedroom and collapses on the bed. He's thankful the old bastard is gone for the night to sleep with some floozy again. Maybe now the boy can get some sleep for a few hours. The scene ends as he continues to lie in his bed.
The scene opens up, showing a hospital room. On the hospital bed, is a familiar-looking boy now in his teens. His chest and the majority of his body is wrapped in white bandages. No doubt to cover up the horrific third-degree burns that he suffered from after his no-good father tried to kill him and the newest addition to their family, his younger sister. Speaking of which, it is a shame he is not awake to view the scene before him: his younger sister being pulled away from him by government officials. With their father's death, there was no one to provide for the two, meaning they were now technically orphans. While the boy was old enough to take care of himself, the young girl, who was only four, would have to be put in foster care, unfortunately. She screams at the men to let her go, reaching for her younger brother, who sadly cannot hear her. She is finally pulled out of the room, all while the teenage boy continues to dwell in Death's cousin.
The scene changes again to show a chemistry lab in a classroom. The room is empty, which is no surprise considering that the sun has alright set and night is vastly approaching. A few seconds later, however, the classroom door opens and in walks a familiar teenage boy, only a few years older than before. He walks to a locked closet in the corner of the classroom and easily picks the lock open. Opening the doors, he reaches inside and pulls out the equipment that the chemistry lab uses for experiments. After a few minutes of setting it up, he turns on the heat at the bottom and watches with interest as the flame comes alight, heating the glass jar. He smiles at the fire, at its brilliance and magnificence. So deadly, yet so... beautiful at the same time; almost like a rose.
He stares at it a bit longer before he turns it and begins his experiment. This wasn't for class or homework. Oh no, he was doing this for himself. After he had set some trash on fire a few days ago, he began wondering what else he could set alight. Maybe, a dumpster. No... something bigger. Something that would spread quicker and brighter. Something that wouldn't be easy to put out, like... a building. A building... The boy smiles a cold smile as his mind stays hammered on that thought. It was certainly something to think about...
The scene changes again to show a city of skyscrapers, all brilliantly lit up. Down on the streets below, a group of socialities and rich nobles are partying or socializing, enjoying themselves, with nary a care in the world. A shame that none of them are aware of the amount of danger they are currently in, as sitting high on a rooftop above, a familiar-looking man is sitting with one of his legs dangling over the edge. He is whistling a tune to himself, while playing with a strange remote control device in his hands. He finishes his tune and stands up, looking down at the still beautifully lit streets down below. He smirks to himself and places his finger on the remote control. After a minute's pass, he presses the large red button on it and watches the "show" began.
All throughout the city, multiple explosions go off, igniting all of the buildings in close proximity with each other in flames. He listens to the screams and shouts as he looks as the city is still glowing, only now it is with smoke, ash and fire. He chuckles to himself until his laughing becomes louder and blows into a full-blown guffaw as he watches his art come to life. His laughter continues as the winds that are blowing freely carry his flames towards the wide open sky.
The final scene appears showing the young man in his current form as he is outside on a rooftop, smoking a cigarette as he overlooks the city at night. He has taken many lives and has labeled a 'danger to society', but he cares not. He has done what he wanted, when he wanted, however he wanted. And he has absolutely no regrets. If he was to die tomorrow, he wouldn't care one bit. ...But is that really true? A young girl's springs to the forefront of his mind, and he admonishes the fact that he forgot her, even if it was only momentarily. What will happen to her if he dies now? What will happen to his flame? Will it continue to burn always? Or is it doomed to flicker, and soon fade? Only time will tell...
Death Row Block
As always, Chinami has laid all 72 cards out on her table. And with a deft hand, she easily and swiftly flips over three of the cards, as if she didn't need to think about which ones to choose from. The first card features a man wearing on a crown sitting on a throne (The Emperor). The second card features a skeleton wearing black armor riding on a white horse (Death). The last card features a warrior riding in a contraption being pulled by horses (The Chariot).
Lastly, the crystal ball plays out significant scenes in each member's life: the day Akihisa proposed to his beloved, the day Touya met his adopted elder sister, and the day Rintaro was reunited with his younger sister. These three men, all criminals with their hourglasses slowly running out, have chosen to obey their masters in order to prolong the awaited day. But with freedom already in their grasp, are they truly content to remain docile? Or will they forever have a rope tied around their necks? Only time will tell...

Kira's Thoughts on Katsushika Division
Tumblr media
Akihisa Mashiro
"Akihisa Mashiro, the man known far and wide as, "The Reaper". Would you believe me if I told you that I actually met this man whilst I was serving in the army? Even back then, rumors of his killings were the stuff of legend during the war. I have to admit, I never once thought that I'd ever see him again. But imagine my surprise when he was arrested. And get this, apparently, it was orchestrated by none other than General Kōkyū. I caught sight of him once behind bars, but I'm not sure if he even recognized me. I don't think we'd have much to say to each other, at any rate. I never thought I'd see him participating in a rap tournament of all things. Will wonders never cease?"
Touya Kisaragi
"The man known as "The Sweetheart Killer". Although I should have nothing but contempt for this young man, considering his childhood and family history, I feel nothing but sorrow for him. You have to wonder if he would turned out like this if he had been raised by parents that didn't extort or abuse him. It makes me wonder for all children such as him. Hopefully, the mandatory psychiatrist he goes to can heal him, though I know it'll take a long while."
Rintaro Himura
"And last but not least, "The High-Rose Bomber". At first, I could sympathize with this young man. Why? Because my circumstances were a lot like his at one point. I can remember being surrounded by flames in a house and a drunken fool of a father. ...But that is where our similarities end. While I fight to protect my friends and family, he commits arson, loving nothing more than hearing screams of his victims and seeing buildings go alight. I was there when Wataru-san interrogated him. And if it weren't for the fact that it's technically illegal, I would have burst into the confessional and beat his smug face into the ground. People like him make me sick to the core."
Death Row Block
"I've only worked for Chuohku for a couple of years now, but I've long ago stopped trying to understand what it is that makes the Prime Minister tick. I don't fully understand her reasonings for getting three of Japan's worst criminals off of death row, much less, out of prison. She firmly believes that she can control anyone, but she is sorely mistaken. I've tried to explain this, but she wouldn't listen. But if these young men commit any sort of crime, whose job is it to make sure that they don't do it again? I wish she would take those sort of things under consideration."
"I'll say this: if we do face these men, then I personally want to take on the pyromaniac, himself. We'll see if those flames of his will hold out against my shield."

Taria's Thoughts on Katsushika Division
Tumblr media
Akihisa Mashiro
"Wow, so this guy's a real-life assassin, huh? I heard that he even went toe-to-toe with that woman from Edogawa, Kaoru and Kanra-chan's mom. I also heard that he was betrayed by the government he worked for and Chuohku took advantage to have him arrested. Gah, just like the people in charge to take advantage when it suits them. How freaking typical..."
Touya Kisaragi
"Like Kira stated, I feel really bad for this kid. I mean, have you seen him? I know he's a wanted serial killer and all, but from what I've seen, he acts like a kid, which isn't really surprising since he had a mess of a childhood. ...Damn, does anyone in this country know how to raise a damn kid anymore?! Why do all the parents in this place have to fail so damn badly? Like my friend, Sumire, once told me: if you don't know how to raise a child, then you maybe you shouldn't, oh, I don't know, be freaking having or taking care of them!"
Rintaro Himura
"Ugh, this guy is the only one from this team that I don't care for. And I'm glad to see I'm not alone in that category. I mean, I know what it's like to be raised by a deadbeat dad and an absentee mother, but you don't see me setting fire to buildings, or bombing them! You've got serious issues, pal! You better not let me catch your ass anywhere near Ōta, or else!"
Death Row Block
"'Death Row Block'. ...And the Prime Minister thought that letting all of these guys out of prison was a smart move? And let me guess, she doesn't see this as backfiring on her, right? I tell you, it boggles my mind that the fate of an entire country is in the hands of someone so freaking stupid. But whatever! If this comes back to haunt us, let me be the first to say, 'I told you so!'"

Happy Pride Month!
I meant to do something like this earlier in the month, but I've been busy with work and life. Thankfully, I managed to get it done before the month was over. I hope you enjoy them, and if I offend someone, I sincerely apologize.
— Chinami
Tumblr media
Aromantic/Asexual
After the death of her husband, Haru, Chinami has sworn to herself that she would never fall in love again, or let anyone outside of her family get close. The main reason for this is because she fears that they will leave her like all those who loved her before left her.
On matters of sex, her feelings are relatively the same. She has little to no interest in fornicating and seeks only to care for her sisters or her child. She has to fight the urge to sigh every time she gets a request from a perverted man or woman who always wants to know if they will be lucky when it comes to sex.
— Kira
Tumblr media
Panromantic/Pansexual
During her years in the army, Kira has come into contact with a number of people who have different gender identities. She doesn't judge them, believing that everyone has a right to love and be who they wish. It's for this that she loves people regardless of whether they are a man, a woman, a nonbinary, a transgender, or anything else.
Her feelings on sex are the same, as she has slept with people of different identities and norms many times. She doesn't like one identity or gender over the other, believing that they are all good.
— Taria
Tumblr media
Biromantic/Bisexual
Like her older sister, Kira, Taria has also come into contact with different people during her time traveling with her circus troupe. At first, she was a bit confused about liking people of the same gender. But afterward, she found it normal and accepted it. Her feelings for people of the same sex are one of the reasons she hates religions and church because they usually consider such things as being taboo.
On matters of sex, her feelings are the same. She has slept with men and women. If you asked her which gender she liked more, she couldn't answer, as both have their pros and cons.

Chinami's Thoughts on Aoyama Division
Tumblr media
Tomi Chōten
The front door to the Chinen household opens as Chinami comes in with her son, Jin, on her back in his baby carrier. Judging from the silence, the oldest sister deduced that her siblings were not yet home, which didn't particularly bother the seeress. Placing Jin in his crib, she walked to her desk where her crystal ball was, glowing with abnormal energy. It was time for her weekly process of gleaning the fates of another division. And this time, she decided to choose... Aoyama Division.
"Chōten Tomi."
The crystal ball obeys and begins playing out a scene. It features a boy of eight or nine with black hair sitting at a long dining room table with a bunch of silverware in front of him. Sitting beside him is a boy who looks somewhat similar to him. The older boy is listening intently to an older woman who is instructing them on the importance of proper table etiquette. The boy is trying to pay attention but is always distracted as the younger boy beside him always whispers something or idly plays with the silverware; it is obvious he is not at all interested in the lesson. Though he knows he shouldn't, the black-haired boy finds it hard to contain a smile as the younger boy juggles with the silverware, surprising the woman. He shakes his head at his antics as the scene ends.
The ball changes to show a high school cafeteria. People are either sitting down at the tables, eating with friends or by themselves, or walking to and fro, as they look for a place to sit. The scene is relatively normal. That is, until a group of six or seven individuals walk into the cafeteria; obviously quite different from the rest of the students. They are dressed in preppy clothes and look far better than the other students, all of whom have ceased their actions as they observe the group. They all are led by a familiar dark-haired boy who looks older than before. He looks around him, a condensing eye as he observes everyone. He scoffs and walks forward to get his food, the rest of the group following close behind him. The scene ends as everyone in the cafeteria continues to stare at the group, some with envy and others with fear.
The scene changes to show the dark-haired boy from before, now a few years older. However, his usual black hair is now gray, suggesting that he dyed it. He is sitting on a really fancy chair atop a pedestal in a semi-dark setting. Atop his head is a gold and red crown; obviously not a real one, but it still gets the point across. Sitting beside him is a pretty young girl of the same age, also with a crown. Across his body is a sash that read, 'Prom King'. He looks as everyone is dancing or frolicking with their friends as they enjoy this night. Honestly, he can't really blame them.
The scene changes to show an empty room in a mansion. The room aside from three windows is completely bare and desolate. The servants made sure to discard anything in the room that the previous occupant did not take with them. The door to the room is closed until it opens and a familiar boy, now of 20, enters the room. He looks around in shock at how everything is gone. He walks up to a wall where a dresser used to be. He imagines it, as on top of the dresser was a picture frame, featuring him and his younger sibling, happy as they could be. Such memories hit him physically and mentally and he collapses to his knees. Without his friend, what point is there in living in this house, which is as empty as this room?
The scene changes one last time to show the boy in his current state. He is atop a huge skyscraper in his home city of Aoyama, attending a soiree with other socialites. He is dressed in fine clothes, as he always is, and pretends to be invested in the conversation he is in. After finding a way to excuse himself, he picks up a glass of red wine and looks out into the distance at the city. As rich and pleasant as this life, can he continue living this way? It is a dull existence, one without any monotony, whatsoever. Though he knows he must do this to appease his parents, in truth, the expectations he and everyone else has of him, what would happen if he just discarded all of it? Could he really do that? Only time will tell...
Karada Kessaku
"Kessaku Karada."
Once more, the crystal ball reacts to the seer's name as it begins playing out the life of the bodybuilder. The scene opens showing a young boy of eight or nine who is quite large for a boy his age. He is sitting on the ground with marks and bruises on his face. Suddenly, a large shadow covers him and the boy looks up to an elderly man with similar facial features. The man extends a hand to help the young boy up. In response, however, the boy simply swats his hand away, scowling at him. He stands up on his own and spits on the ground in front of the old man. He then proceeds to walk away, leaving the old man behind. As the scene ends, the boy doesn't know what he hates more: that old man, or this wretched life he's forced to live.
The scene shows the young boy again in an alleyway. His back is to the wall and he stares out in front of him, a shocked expression on his face. Why? Because he looks as the old man from before, the one he had previously scorned, was now defending him. As a result of his bullying ways, the fathers of Aoyama sought to teach the boy a lesson. He was used to fighting and beating up people, but never people larger than him, and these men were far bigger and older than him. However, before they could do anything, the boy looked as the old man stood in front of him and watched as the men relentlessly beat him up. The boy couldn't believe it. He was taking his punishment for him. But... why?
All his life, the boy had done nothing but scorn and curse at the old man. But... why was that? The old man had done nothing to warrant such treatment. In fact, he treated the boy with nothing but kindness and compassion his whole life. And the boy simply thanked him with either indifference or sarcasm. Any normal parent would eventually come to despise any child for this behavior. ...But not him. No matter how often the boy disrespected him, the old man still loved him regardless. And that was still true, even as the men continued their merciless assault.
Eventually, the men had had enough and decided to end their punishment. They gave the boy one final glare before turning and leaving the alleyway. As they did, the boy ran up to the old man. As he raised his head, the old man simply smiled, asking if he was alright, which shocked the boy once more. He didn't know why, but for some reason, his vision became blurry as water streaked down his face. Before he could stop himself, the boy launched himself into the old man, hugging him as he bawled like a child. The old man simply placed one arm around the boy, hugging him back. The scene then ends.
The scene changes showing the young boy as a full-grown adult now. He is still heavily built with muscles as he is standing in a pair of muscle briefs on a beach. He was not the only one there, however. No, this was a competition and it was his turn to showcase his incredible prowess to the people of Japan. Facing him was a similarly well-built man. Their challenge: to see who could get all these large iron bells back over their line the quickest. Getting into position, the large man went off like a rocket as the whistle blew. The scene ends as he easily picks up the large weight, already at an advantage against his opponent.
The scene changes one last time to show the man in his current form as he is in a gym, running on a treadmill. He breathes heavily as the treadmill is going 6 mph. He won't deny he's tired, but he's not going to stop. He has a goal to fulfill: to become the best bodybuilder Japan, no, the world has ever seen. And he wouldn't stop until he had accomplished that goal. ...But what is next for him after that? Though he has changed definitely from his childhood, can he truly ever forgive and forget his past? Though he knows his grandfather loved and forgave him, will the day come when he can forgive himself? Only time will tell...
Luis Kōkyū
"Kōkyū Luis."
The scene on the ball begins by displaying a large party in a mansion. It is filled with nobles, socialites, and other rich people. Two people, a man, and a woman, both dressed in rich clothing, are surrounded by guests as they talk and entertain them. Sitting in a corner a ways away from them is a young boy of seven or eight with Japanese and Hispanic traits. He is dressed nicely but doesn't appear to be having a good time. In fact, the boy downright hates these sorts of events. He is always just used as a doll to showcase his parents' wealth. He hates it, and he hates them. He looks up as his name is called by one of the servants. He is informed his parents wish to see him, which makes him sigh. Once again, he is to be used as a doll. Standing up, he follows his servant into the crowd as the scene ends.
The scene changes to show the entrance of a mansion. The entranceway opens and the boy from before walks. It is clear from his facial expression that he is upset and angry. Following behind him are some of his family's servants, one of which asks him will he need anything. The boy deigns not to answer and instead simply heads for the stairs up to the third story where his room is. As he enters, he looks at the clock on the wall as it reads 10:16 A.M. He'd normally be at school right now, but after having punched a boy in the mouth for calling him a slur due to his race, he was suspended for the next few days, not that he or his parents cared. They didn't even bother to come to pick him up from school, not that he was surprised. Lying down on his bed, the boy wishes more than anything to know why his parents don't love him...
The scene changes showing the boy a few years older, though he has definitely grown more than a few inches since he was last seen. He has an apron on, and is in a kitchen, listening and watching an older woman with Hispanic features as she is cooking. He listens and nods at her as quickly gets whatever spice or kitchen tool she needs. He looks at all the food on the stove and in the oven as it is being prepared. He was always told that cooking is a science, which is why it is so difficult. But compared to the science he was taught in school, this was nothing. He continues listening as his grandmother explains and instructs him on different foods and recipes as the scene ends.
The scene changes to show a culinary classroom in a high school. The room has two sets of kitchens, which is fitting as the students, all of whom are wearing chef outfits, have been divided into two teams to decide which team will win. On one of the teams is a familiar Japanese/Hispanic boy, who is now a teenager. He is busy stirring something a large metal ball with a wooden spoon. After a few seconds, he quickly, yet somewhat gently pours the strange liquid into a large pot on a stove. He announces this to his peers before he moves on to his next task. The boy admits that this wasn't what he expected when he signed up for culinary school. But there was a certain joy to it that he loved.
The scene changes once more to show the Hispanic teenager in his current form as a young man. He is currently in a kitchen, along with other chefs, cooking a meal. Once it is done, he picks it up with one hand and walks out of the kitchen and into a restaurant that is bustling. He walks to the table, sets it down, and bows to the recipients before departing. Despite the situation with his parents, it is only due to the support of his grandmother and his cohorts that this young man is still alive today.
But even so, what will become of him once his matriarch, his grandmother, departs this world for the next? Once she does, he will lose the love of family that he has only just now experienced. When that happens, what will become him? Will he manage to persevere, or will he return to his old ways once more? Only time will tell...
Jet Set Trio
With the tarot cards laid out before her, Chinami takes a deep breath before looking for the three that are most fitting. She seems to find them as she flips three of the 78 cards over, revealing their faces. The first features a man holding tightly onto a coin upside down (The Four of Pentacles - Reversed). The second features a woman stroking a lion on its head (Strength). The final card features a couple looking out at a bunch of kids playing upside down (The Ten of Cups - Reversed).
As the cards lay neatly aligned on the table, the crystal ball plays out images of the Aoyama team's lives. The day Tomi visited his brother in Kumamoto after a long time of not seeing him, the day Karada and Luis first met, and the day when Luis was shown love by his grandmother. All three men, united by their friendship and love for the finer things in life, have shown their nobility. But will their bonds of friendship be broken when the one thing that unites them is lost? Only time will tell...

Kira's Thoughts on Aoyama Division
Tumblr media
Tomi Chōten
"Ugh, the Chōten family," Kira said, disgust evident in her voice. "Even if I didn't know that this guy's mother works alongside me in Chuohku, it still wouldn't be hard to know just who this young man's family is. Their wealth is matched only by their arrogance if the reports about them are anything to go by. And after hearing some of the lyrics in his rap verses, I am not all surprised to find out that I was right. To put it simply, I want nothing to do with him or his family."
Karada Kessaku
"Ugh, I've dealt with more than my fair share of men like him during my time in the service... both in and out of the bedroom, unfortunately. They think that their muscles and physique make them better than everyone, or that it makes them impervious to injuries. They usually find out the hard way that all of those muscles they have is worthless if they don't know how to use them properly. And what's more, they usually don't have much going up here either." Kira points to her head, emphasizing her brain.
Luis Kōkyū
"This guy may be the only member from this team that I don't really mind much. The main reason is because of his father, General Kōkyū. But besides that, he doesn't seem uppity and arrogant like his teammates. ...I have to admit, it's a shame he didn't follow after his father and join the army. Someone of his height and attitude, I think, would make a perfect soldier. ...But then again, considering Chuohku has banned all forms of weaponry, I don't think there would be a point in having him join..."
Jet Set Trio
"Many people accuse me of being cynical, but I like to think I'm a realist. When I was a soldier, I witnessed a lot of things that made me question a person's integrity or moral compass. And there was no group that made me do that more than the rich and nobility. I've seen them commit many heinous and atrocious acts, but simply because they are wealthy, they are able to either get away with it or escape any harsh punishment. Ever since then, I've always had little love for the rich; they leave a bad taste in my mouth. And this group is included in that."
"Suffice to say, I don't trust any of them, except maybe Luis-san. They haven't done anything untoward, but know that I will be keeping a close eye on all of them. If I find out that they are up to something, I won't hesitate to have them all arrested."

Taria's Thoughts on Aoyama Division
Tumblr media
Tomi Chōten
"Ha! I have to thank Kaoru for recommending this guy's house to me! I have to say, with all the money this guy's family has, you'd think they pay to have better security. I mean, seriously! All they had was a simple burglar alarm that was easy to deactivate, and voilà! I was in the house before anyone even noticed! I'd like to head back there, but Kaoru recommended I take it easy for a week or so. But the next chance I get, I'm robbing this sap's house again!"
Karada Kessaku
"Ugh, not to quote Kira, but I can't stand guys with nothing going on upstairs. You can look fine as hell and have muscles for days, but if I can't even hold a conversation with you, then chances are you and I won't get very far on the 'relationship scale'. Plus, I checked this guy's house. He hasn't got anything remotely worth taking! So yeah, not interested in him! Next, please!"
Luis Kōkyū
"Hmm... I'll admit, this guy's piqued my interest. Japan's got a lot of foreigners, but this guy may be the first Hispanic guy I've ever met. I hear he's a big-time chef and owns his own restaurant or something. I'm kinda curious about what his food tastes like. I've read reviews on the place and it seems like it's alright! Maybe the next chance I get, I should head over there and see what's worth stealing eating. ...Hmm, what? No, I didn't say anything..."
Jet Set Trio
"...Seriously, Chuohku? You're letting rich kids with nothing else better to do with their time enter a rapping tournament? Why? I bet these guys aren't even interested. They probably are just bored with all their money and thought entering the D.R.B. would be a good way to pass the time. Not that it matters much. I mean, they lost their first round so are they even relevant anymore? ...Meh, it means nothing to me. Only thing I'm interested in about these guys is how much money I can get off them..." Taria chuckles at the thought.

Chinami's Thoughts on Saga Division
Tumblr media
Ayaka Kagawa
It had been a while since Chinami had done one of her divinations. Due to her work, plus preparing her sisters for the D.R.B., it had not left a lot of time to see what her competition was like. Hopefully, with her schedule now free, she would have more time to do so. And today, she thought she would delve into the history of a recent time, Saga Division, a.k.a. the Bloody Divas.
"Kagawa Ayaka."
The crystal ball, reacting to the name, begins by displaying a picture of a girl, no more than five, dressed up in a frilly dress. She is standing with her hands down in front of her, on a stage in front of hundreds of people. She can feel everyone's eyes on her, and it makes her shy and scared. She doesn't like doing this, but she does it because she has to. Because she knows it will make her mother happy. Because... because she knows she will be punished if she doesn't do well. The scene ends as her name is called and she stands under the spotlight.
The scene shows the young girl sitting in her room in the dark on her bed. She tries to ignore the aching feeling in her stomach as it growls and rumbles constantly. She is so weak, so tired, so... hungry. So very, very hungry. She'd kill for just a scrap of something to eat. Even if it was just garbage from a dumpster! ...But no, her mother wouldn't allow it. This was all to make her beautiful. And models didn't need to eat, after all. The skinner they were, the more beautiful they were. That was the way of the world, right? If you're skinny, you're beautiful. If you're not skinny, you're ugly. And she wasn't beautiful. No, she was ugly. Ugly as ugly could be...
The scene changes to show the young girl being bound on what looks like a hospital bed. But this wasn't a hospital, no... this... place, if it had a name, it could be called the Devil's Workshop, because only mad and cruel things happened here. And the young girl was the unfortunate subject in this experiment. But who was it that was experimenting on her? Who would subject a girl not even in her teens to this sort of depraved and inhumane torture? Who else, but her dear old mother. 'This is for your sake', she would say. 'This is all to make you pretty.' Yes, she would be pretty. Pretty... as a doll...
In the new scene, the girl, who is now a teenager, struggles to walk, as she has to be helped by another girl, and a cane. Her torture at the hands of her mother was finally at its end. But the cost was great. Too great. The bones in her body were all chipped or broken. Her limbs which normally should bend, were now straight and firm as if they were made out of wood. Though her mother was gone now (not that the girl cared at all), her "experiment" proved to be a success. She had created a living, breathing "doll"...
The last scene plays out as the girl is now a lot happier than she has ever been. Though adjusting to her new body has proved difficult, with the help of her older sister and her friends, she has slowly, but steadily been improving. ...But the question is, does she still view herself as a person? Though her mother is long gone, she can still feel her presence whenever she is crying or her joints start to ache. It always brings her back to that horrid time in her life. The time her mother made her into her own version of what she pictured her to be. Will she ever be free to be her own person? Only time will tell...
Mizuki Minami
"Minami Mizuki."
The scene opens showing a young girl with glasses living in a dirty, impoverished hovel. Her hair is dirty and her clothes are rags. She is sitting in her room, or what could be called a room, as she listens to her mother complain in the other room about the number of bills she has to pay. She hates this life. Why was she born into it? Did she do something wrong in a previous life or something? Ha, who was she asking these questions to? It's not like anyone could answer her. The scene ends as she lies on her bed, wondering when things will get better.
The scene changes, showing the girl much older. She is standing outside, along with a bunch of other people as she looks lifelessly and solemnly at her parents. Normally, she'd be happy to see them, but not now. Maybe not ever again. After all, how can you be happy to see someone when you will never see them again? How can you be happy for people who decided to kill themselves and leave you alone? How can you be happy for two parents who were supposed to put their own child first, but didn't? It was wrong, it was unfair. It was just... it just wasn't right. But what could be done about it? They were dead, she wasn't. As the scene ends, the girl only has one thought: she hopes that two of them killing themselves was worth it.
The scene shows the city of Saga at night. A young man is walking down the sidewalk, cautiously watching everything around him. He jumps at the slightest noise, seeing enemies and shadows all around him. It is obvious he is scared of something... or perhaps, someone. He continues looking all around him, but finally breathes a sigh of relief as he reaches his home. He walks up the steps of his patio and reaches the front door, fiddling with the lock. Suddenly, he hears someone whistle behind him. He instinctively turns around and comes face-to-face with a gun in his face. The man's breath catches in his throat as his life flashes before his eye. The scene ends as the two continue to stand there in a standoff.
The last scene plays out showing the bespectacled girl in a bedroom on a computer, smiling as she is answering questions from her viewers. Her life, though still not exactly perfect, is far better than it has been before. She has friends, a good-paying job, and a better place to live. ...But she still feels the threat of her parents' sins hanging above her head. The sins of the parents must be passed onto the child, unfortunately. Will she meet the same end as the ones who gave birth to her, afraid and left with little other choice than to put an end to it all before someone else does? Only time will tell...
Megumi Kagawa
"Kagawa Megumi."
The scene opens up showing a young girl sitting in a chair in front of a mirror as a woman far older than her applies numerous amounts of make-up on her face, trying to make her look older and prettier than she already is. The girl tries to keep still as the woman will lecture her again if she moves again, messing up her work. The girl doesn't know why she always has to do this. She is constantly forced to endure this treatment just because her mother enters her into these stupid beauty pageants. She hates them, and she hates this. But her mother wouldn't understand. She never understands. The scene ends as the girl continues staring in the mirror, wondering just who it is that is staring back at her.
The scene changes to show the young girl sneaking into the kitchen of her home. She is careful to not make a sound less she wakes up that monster wearing a human skin called her mother. She carefully grabs a loaf of French bread from the top of the fridge and quickly, but quietly races back to her destination: her younger sister's room. Ever since her sister had been coming in last place in the beauty pageants, her mother decided to punish her by telling her she wasn't allowed to eat anything, which was just stupid. Why should her sister be punished for something she had no control over? And it wasn't like she wanted to enter the stupid pageants anyway!
Knocking on the door quietly, she enters and looks as her sister is asleep. Gently shaking her awake, she shows her the bread, which prompts the girl to quickly take it and start eating, not caring. The girl sits down beside her sister, smiling sadly at the thought that they were both prisoners in their home.
The scene changes to show a dark street in Saga. A young familiar girl wearing a hood walks down a street until she turns and heads into a dark alley. Normally she wouldn't be in this seedy part of town, but she had a purpose for coming here. She looks as there is someone else in the alley with her: an older man also wearing a hooded jacket. She says not a word as she walks up to him. She opens her palm, revealing a large stack of bills. The man quickly takes it and counts it. He nods his head, pockets the cash, and reaches into his other coat pocket, pulling something out. The girl looks as it is a small black loaded gun. He holds it out for her to take it, which she does. Their business concluded, the two walk out of the alleyway together, and turn in opposite directions, going their separate ways.
Just why was this young girl buying a firearm you ask? For revenge. Revenge against what those monsters she calls her parents had done to her sister. She could have forgiven them for many things: entering the two of them in those damn beauty pageants, starving them, locking them in closets, and even joining the damnable government. But when they started experimenting on her, starting turning her into something other than a human being, that's where they crossed the line. And she was going to make them both pay for it. Oh yes, punishment was coming...
The final scene plays out showing the girl in her current form as she is sitting in the student council room in her school, going through a bunch of reports. She is helped by a bunch of other students who smile and are friendly with her. Though she may have had to do some heinous things to set her and her sister free, she has no regrets. ...But how long can she hold tight onto this secret? What will happen to her and her sister if someone finds out? Can the horrible truth about her parents' murder remain a mystery? Only time will tell...
Bloody Divas
With 78 cards in front of her, Chinami takes a deep breath and quickly, but efficiently flips over three of them, as if already knowing by heart which ones to choose. The first card featured a warrior standing inside a carriage that was upside down (The Chariot - Reversed). The second card featured two men walking in the snow in front of a church (The Five of Pentacles). And the last card features a familiar woman holding a sword in one hand and a set of scales in the other, upside down (The Justice - Reversed).
The crystal ball begins to play out important memories in the life of these three women. The moment Ayaka was told her parents wouldn't bother her anymore, the day Mizuki began her streaming channel, and the day Kagawa and Mizuki became a couple. All three have endured hard times, but have become stronger for it. But will that strength be enough to defend them when Chuohku's evil machinations come into play? Only time will tell...
